  • Hags require more thinking and strategy. If they make a mistake it can be more costly because of the lower speed and poorer line of sight (than a Hillbilly who can correct that same mistake in like 3 seconds, for instance). I think the bad Hags are just testing her out, working on an achievement or doing a daily ritual. I can't imagine somebody who can't figure her out using her for more than a few games.
Well, the poor play is often rewarded by overly-altruistic survivors dive-bombing the hook. Many survivors have failed to learn that they need to teach killers to not camp, rather than rewarding them for it.
  • What if the secondary objectives were optional?

For example, give a large BP bonus for finding and disarming a series of props that would give the killer a small bonus in the endgame. Escaping would be more difficult without doing this, but this possible.

Let's use NOED as a starting point. Not the instant down, but the other bonuses... 8% reduction on attack cooldowns and 4% bonus speed. It's a nice bonus, but hardly game-breaking.

We could have up to 4 props, each one worth 2% cooldown reduction and 1% speed. At the start of the endgame (last gen is finished), the killer gets that bonus for each remaining prop. Each prop is worth 1000 BP. That BP is given to the survivor who disarmed it, or to the killer if the prop activates at endgame.

Tier it so rank 20-16 gets 1 prop per match, 15-11 gets 2, 10-6 gets 3, and 5-1 gets 4. That would help even out the disparity in power level between low and high ranks.
  • Woah, Uh That would be a bad idea, due to the fact the game is still mostly killer sided at the moment.

    HAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAH
  • Surveillance is in need of a big buff.
It would be usable if it wasn't for the 16 seconds
I have no idea why they thought that was a good idea. You can't even reach 3 gens to kick them in 16 seconds.

Now I normally play killer but when I'm survivor against a Hag I just know 100% what they are gonna do because it's so predictable. Traps on Gen check, Traps in loop areas check (sometimes not really most of the time its random areas) and finally traps all around any hooked survivor and guess what? THEY GONNA CAMP TOO!! Swear I hate playing against a Hag because how boring and predictable they are and the funniest thing about them too is they run some pretty meta perks that promote non-camp styles but whatever...

Like a few minutes ago I went against a camping Hag who had Nurses Calling, BBQ n Chili, Ruin, and Franklins. Now this Hag hooked one guy and instead of going anywhere else or patrolling... camped just trapped them up and camped.

    Those are just bad Hags.

One trap at the hook, maybe. No traps at gens. Every single safe loop on at least half of the map? You better believe it's trapped.

Make Your Choice, Monitor & Abuse, Nurse's, and one match-slowing perk of your choice. For the last one, I prefer Knock Out against solo queue or Sloppy Butcher against SWF. Some people like Ruin instead. For addons, an insect and an egg (range and duration).

If the hook trap goes off I may teleport, or I may not. Did MYC proc? Is the person I'm chasing about to go down? Do i have someone downed already? Is it more important to knock those other two survivors off that gen? Which way is the phantasm looking? Can I cut them off without teleporting and herd them into a trap I can ITH from?

What is the difference between Tinkerer 2 and 3?
Tinkerer 2 is bugged. Sometimes it doesn't restore the TR after the first gen is done, so the killer has no heartbeat for the remainder of the match.
  • Unfortunately, they only have permission to use one look. Thats why we got Quentin instead of Nancy with the Nightmare DLC.
  • SenzuDuck said:

Many people are ignoring the fact 2 hooks and 2 gens will always be part of the event regardless of offerings, which will fix most of the issues of the last i think.

Yes, I think that will help a lot. It was frustrating last event to have some games with no event stuff at all, or just one item that was immediately saboed or camped.
  • It seems like nearly every time I get a No Mither survivor, they end up running past me while I'm chasing someone else and they get slapped for it. Either that, or they're the stealthiest MF'er on the planet and i never see them.

I don't care, a hook is a hook. Injured survivor runs past me? *slap*
  • Its not a thing, people just tend to walk into his direction early on cause he has no/tiny terror radius.

Same can be seen with Wraith and Pig.
And M&A Hag... "Hello there!" *pimpslap*
  • Elevating solo survivors to the level of SWF may be a mistake, but really the only other choice is to somehow nerf SWF to the level of solo queue without nerfing solo survivors. Aside from being an even worse idea, i dont think that's actually possible. Marth88 proved that a good SWF doesn't even need perks to stomp killers.

If they get solo survivors closer to SWF, they can buff killers beyond what would be reasonable now.

It would ABSOLUTELY require killer buffs in tandem though. As it stands right now I solo queue survivor & pip in 3/4 of my games, and I'm not that good. It's still too easy.
  • Didn't you know? If you stay on the same map after hooking someone, you camped. If you stay on the same half of the map as the hook, you hard camped. If you ever hit the unhooked person again, you tunneled.
  • They're not STOPPING the hook farming. They're just making sure you get at least some of what you deserve for it.

Farm all you want, just know that you won't get rewarded for it.

    Hell no.

There are two kinds of Nurse mains in this world.

One that tries to be objective and another that reflects the majority of this forum just for fun?

I agree with OP, but I still think the devs need to adjust some other things first before their planned changes come to the live build.

That is what the ptb is for. Go give meaningful constructive feedback when a playable build is available. Honestly the devs are at least trying there best and you know what? Be glad they actually give a damn about their game unlike most small developers who flood steam with unplayable garbage that rarely gets fixed at all.

I'm hoping I'll actually be able to get a match this PTB. I tried the last one and only managed to get 1 killer game in.

    default Kindred 3 (that’s great)
    nerfing bl
and recovering from exhaustion after getting unhooked
thank god these devs realize how boring is playing as survivor after patch
it’s just my opinion seriously cannot play as killer because lobby is bugged and playing as survivor is hell boring (no swf i play solo btw)

I would just like the team to see the killer if they are facecamping or really nearby, I think this will give survivors some counterplay to camping

There allready is counterplay, it's called not running to the hook and doing gens by playing into the killer you will go down one by one, the game is allready lost for you if he gets someone down close to the hook

    there's a 2-fold problem with that
1: WGLF stacks: survivors are like vultures for the blood points and don't really care about saving their team mate
2: Benevolence Emblem: The longer the survivor is on the hook the benevolence points involved with the emblem count down.

The devs put this into the game so survivors wouldn't just gen rush, they had to do other stuff besides gens in order to pip, killers can abuse this to prevent survivors from saving team mates and possibly getting a 2k from altruism. Kindred fixes this because they actually get a benefit from leaving a survivor on the hook longer, but it would make aura perks more situational.

Benevolence doesn't count down while someone is on the hook. Everyone loses 10 points when someone is hooked, and everyone gets them back when that person is unhooked (or if the person dies within 10 secs of being hooked).

Also, they're talking about removing WGLF stacks and unhooking BP if the person you unhooked goes down within 10 secs.
  • The "slide to hook" thing is necessary. Without that, you would have to stand on one exactly correct spot to interact with any hook. With the sway effect from a survivor wiggling, it would be nearly impossible for a killer to hook a wiggling survivor even without bodyblocking.

That slide also affects survivors using Sabo, btw. I've dodged more than one chainsaw by standing beside a hook and saboing right before the Billy trains into me.
  • Actually, one of my favourite deaths was due to tombstone. I spawn in as survivor and almost immediately see the Ruin totem. I start cleansing, and after a few seconds I see Myers slow-walking toward me. I figured it was worth a hook to get rid of Ruin so quickly, so I just kept at it.

Ruin explodes, EW3 jingle goes off, moried less than two minutes in to the game. I laughed my ass off over that, and hung around to the end of the match just to congratulate the killer.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure it was the tombstone piece, not the full tombstone.
  • It would be nice, but I doubt we'll ever see new skins on licensed killers. With each of the licenses they were only given the rights to one version of the character.

Looping exploits the different collision boxes that Survivors and Killers have, thereby (almost) nullifying the speed advantage that Killers should have. Delaying the game is also not an intended tactic by the developers, which is why it's being nerfed.

I call it playing smart. Going after the person who will take 1 hit to be rehooked with less time than they had before is a smart play. Going after the person who will take 2 hits to be rehooked with a full hook timer is not.

No Killer has ever asked for 4k every trial, so I'll just ignore what you said after that.

No Killer asked for a 4k every trial, but many want exactly that..

Which you know because you're telepathic? Or are you just assuming because you yourself can't adapt to Killers actually being the power role?

I know that, because many play for the 4k, and I watched enough streamers that main killer & even said that it's not a win for them if they don't get 3-4 kills :) I never said all killers or everyone, I said "many" :)

Funny cause half dead is a tie, even in identity v it officially considers two dead a tie. You lose when more survivors leave, you win when less survivors leave.
To me, if two die and I pip it's a win. Two die and I black pip is a tie, anything less is a loss.

Wait... what Tinkerer 2 bug? Asking cus that’s what I have on my Billy and I don’t want to unintentionally abuse it.

After tinkerer first get's activated the killer has no heartbeat for the rest of the match instead of just for 10 seconds like it should be.. and some killer might not know that, because not everyone reads the forum/bug reports, but some use the perk BECAUSE it's bugged..

Oh that’s crazy. Well I won’t use it then.

It's only Tinkerer 2 that's bugged. If you upgrade it to tier 3 it's fine.

Why would those who abuse it upgrade it?

I doubt a large number of people using this bug are doing so intentionally.

    I don't agree with you.
I'm sure a lot know and still use it.

I'm sure there are some people who are using it intentionally. Im also equally sure that most people are unaware of the bug.

I had a survivor game last night where the killer was using it and legit had no idea. The other three survivors were accusing him of hacking, and the killer apologized after I told them about the bug. I believe he didn't know about it. For one thing he only had 3 perks, none were tier 3 and none were teachables from another killer (Enduring 1, Tinkerer 2, Unrelenting 1). Based on that and on his gameplay, he was definitely a new killer.

Most players don't read the forums (Steam or official). A lot of them probably dont even read the patch notes.

That particular game was absolutely terrifying, and i loved it. You just had to keep your eyes peeled and your camera on a swivel, like a faster version of Myers EW1.

Okay but how come you can choose when to use dead hard? I feel like perks like that and sprint burst you should choose when you want to use them.
Dead Hard lasts for 0.5 seconds and essentially allows you to dodge one attack. Sprint Burst lasts for 3 seconds and gives you a massive lead on the killer. That's why you can activate Dead Hard but not Sprint Burst.
  • They can't do it for the licensed characters, so Feng & Quentin are right out (as are Tapp, Laurie, and Bill).

As for the idea itself; cosmetics that hinted at Scooby Doo would be OK I guess. Dressing the Huntress up like a great dane would just be silly.
  • Also, spawning can get screwy when offerings that change the spawning rules are in play.

See? You just gotta get better

Yep, I've commented this on YouTube as well... Assuming every survivor takes a different gen and gets a normal skill check instead of great every time, odds are 3 gens will pop right after the killer gets their first hook.

Ruin is nothing more than a psychological trick... "must find totem".

  • Where's the instruction booklet that tells you all these little details lol.

    Right here: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Dead_by_Daylight_Wiki
  • Survivor main, IDGAF about Ruin anymore. If you can hit great skill check at least 3/4 of the time it shouldn't bother you either.

Even if you hit normal skill checks, it only adds about 30 seconds on average to a solo gen... and that's assuming you get an average number of skillchecks. Sometimes you only get one or two, or even none.
  • I've only bothered to P3 one character so far (been focusing on getting all of the teachables unlocked before I P3 anyone else) and it's noticeable. I see far fewer brown add-ons and offerings on that character than I do on my others.

But seriously, i wouldn't have to replace it, i generally don't like running late-game-only Perks.

This. I prefer perks that help me throughout match. That's also why i I don't like Hex perks.
  • So if I dodge a lobby with a 500+ ping survivor that wont leave, **I** get a 5-minute timeout or a 1-gen game? Screw that.

And a 1-gen game is a dumb idea anyway. You want to depip the survivors because I only have 80 seconds to get chases/hits/hooks?

I don't dodge many lobbies, but red ping gets dodged every time.
  • There's a Discord called Patients of the Doctor (
https://discord.gg/V52QRkx ). It has some good advice and guides.
  • I'd put Hag above Clown, personally.

In terms of who to level first though, Pig for Make Your Choice. She also very fun to play, even if she isn't the strongest.
  • Interesting idea, but what about the killer main who decides to play survivor for the first time, or vice versa? Or someone who comes back to the game after a six month hiatus?

Perhaps a combination of Devotion and Rank would be better. I know quite a few people who are great at one side but completely suck at the other side.
  • SB: Takes effect as soon as they start to run, usually before the killer can land any exhaustion add-ons. Only four killers out of 12 can cause exhaustion, not "almost all". Doctor requires Madness 3 to exhaust, Pig requires an RBT. The only two killers that can cause exhaustion before the chase starts are Clown and Huntress.

SC: Personally, I don't complain about this one. It does increase tunnelling though, because you know if you let them go they'll just heal up. Also, Coulrophobia is useless on stealth killers because it depends on a large TR, Thana is just laughable, and Dying Light requires that you tunnel the obsession (preferably with a mori).

DS: A DS at the wrong time can cost the killer the entire match. Honestly, non-obsession DS is even worse because you wasted all that time you spent walking toward a hook. Unnerving only affects people who suck at skill checks. Enduring helps but it still wastes a ton of time.

Adrenaline: Seriously, killers actually complain about Adrenaline? More than just at the moment it saves someone, I mean? It sucks for the killer when it triggers mid-chase, sure. 90% of the time though, it triggers when I'm already full health and just moving toward an exit gate.
  • M&A, Nurse's Calling, Tinkerer, and Bitter Murmur with Interview Tape and High Stimulus Electrode.

They weren't very specific in the dev stream, but they said it would be similar to how Benevolence is penalized if the person you unhooked gets downed within 10 seconds.

    It's a good change.
  • All of the above, plus you can throw a bottle ahead of someone right before you hit them, which helps mitigate the sprint they get after being hit. It can also lead to them getting stuck in a corner trying to go around the cloud, like a reverse Hag camera flick.

  • "Hag is OP"
Ah, there's a sentence I never thought I'd hear again. Er, read again.

But really, this is basically like release all over again for the Hag. For some reason, I was seeing a lot more Hags right before the patch was announced, but in general, a lot of players weren't/aren't experienced playing against her since she's always been very rare. Once they figure out what they're doing, she won't seem quite as strong.

The Hag discord has been rather active in teaching people how to Hag recently, and Space Coconut put up an excellent guide on YouTube well before the patch. That might account for the uptick in Hags before the patch.

    Classic Survivor double standards.

Doctor losing the "intent to complete his objective?" BAN HIM!

Survivor lose their "intent to complete their objective?" JuSt FiNd AnD kIlL tHeM!

You mean dbl standard for killers as well since survivors are told to hide and try and do gens. Which if none are done they can only run and hide and perhaps hope the killer afks long enough for them to be able to do something.

Yep, the one where they can still work on gens if they are smart about it.
This. I've been the last survivor in the match with 4 gens left and escaped through the hatch more than once, even with Ruin still up.

If I can solo a Ruin gen while the killer looks for me, two survivors should be able to get at least 2 gens done. If you think that's impossible, go find the killer and loop him til you get caught. At least that way you'll get some points, and you'll get to move on to the next match.

I'm not in favour of banning people over this, though. Banning should be reserved for clear cases of exploiting and hacking, IMO.

I think the best solution is to give the killer a "Concede" option that becomes usable after a set amount of time in the match. Say, 20 minutes. After a match has lasted 20 minutes, the killer can choose to concede, which will tally points and emblems as though the remaining survivors had escaped through the hatch.

That way, a killer can stop a hostage situation and the remaining survivor(s) get a 2k BP bonus for making the killer concede.
