Flashlight blind time is 3 seconds.... same as pickup animation now. So flashlightsaves are now impossible unless the killer is stupid enough to look at someone who holds a flashlight... No recovery while running aswell. like if a survivor is able to run the killer around for about 50 seconds, they should be rewarded the sprint.

And now all killermains will disagree. Killermains.... BNP gives a total of 25% on a gen. You have a perk that allows you to kick a gen and take away 25% of the progression after you hook someone. BNP = useless. You have mori, NOED. BBQ that allows you to see the survivors loccation if they're far away. So why cant survivors have the recovery while running? Yes we have instaheals and DS. But thats about to be nerfed aswell. The devs are basiclly [BAD WORD] up the game now, i understand that they're trying to balance it. But removeing everything survivor sided is not the answer...

Patch notes say it’s 15%for a bnp installation with just 2 difficult skillchecks. It’s not even 25%
Each of those two skillchecks grants an extra 5%, so it's max 25%.
  • Take it in to a SWF match, find your friend, put your item on the ground.
  • It means their sound is deadened, it's harder for them to hear. Kind of like what happens with the clown's bottles, but a bit worse. It's a mostly worthless addon like all the Hag's VR/UR addons

Small game. I love to fondle totems, yet am too lazy to actively search for them. Also it helps me against trapper, since I always step in his most stupid and obvious traps out in the open. Oh wait, I still step in them, because "ooooh, totem!"

Also I sometimes use kindred, especially after rank reset, because I've died too many times on the first hook due to what I'm going to assume are new survivors crouching around and being too scared to come help....even when the killer is not even remotely near me.

Kindred is a nice one, especially for solo survivors (like me).

    Lullaby was always free.
Not on Xbox, you had to purchase it. The only free chapters on Xbox were, Last Breath, Of Flesh and Mud, and Spark of Madness.
That's odd, because I just checked on the Microsoft Store and it's free there.
  • They're all a lot easier if you wait until a few days after rank reset...
  • Side note: Against Freddy a failed gen skillcheck will still wake you up even if Technician cancels the explosion.
  • Lullaby was always free.

Didn't they already change her black shirt to a lighter grey?

They did, it's not even that dark anymore, people are just going to whine until she's al bright white. Meanwhile the Megs and Fengs with dark outfits sneak by.

what feng outfits most of them i seen have some white in them is just killers want to know where the survivors are 24/7 its cat and mouse not cat knows all . plus use your eyes most of the time she didn't disappear unless you weren't looking.

Apparently all the times i've stated I don't have an issue finding dark outfitted Claudettes escaped you. My point was that they whine about 1 character while ignoring others that're smaller character models and can be just as hard to find.

The people whining about this are no different than the killers dodging lobbies non stop the moment they see 1 or more flashlights and or a single tool box.

i thought you knew of an outfit that was to dark for feng her new one might be dark thats coming.

if feel some killers not all want the game handed to them. they want death garden powers imagine the killers if it were like death garden it be crazy.

Well, the long-sleeve purple overshirt with the longer pants is very good on some maps, but not OP. Ever since they removed the moonlight offerings, I don't think any of the clothing is too bad.
  • For killer my favourite off-meta perks are probably Devour Hope and Unrelenting. Knock Out is good, Blood Warden is meme-licious, and sometimes i run an all-hex build just because.
  • I use a different build for each survivor, and I almost always use two from that survivor's unique perks. The exception to that rule is Laurie, because I hate being the obsession. I only play her for rituals anyway.

I try to make each build appropriate to the character. Most of them do not have Self Care. (I think Claudette and Jake are the only ones who do.)

So based on that, I use all kinds of non-meta perks.
We'll Make It is good, I use it on multiple survivors.
I like Open Handed with Bond. Bond I use on several survivors as well, it's more versatile than Empathy.
For exhaustion perks, I use them all. In fact the only ones I use SB on are Meg and Jake. Probably my favourite is Dead Hard though.
Quick and Quiet with Lithe and/or Dance With Me can be fun, especially if you like to just vanish mid-chase. I like to enter a locker with Q&Q out of the killer's sight, then noisily exit and run away with Dance. 9/10 chance the killer checks the locker while you're hiding elsewhere.
Urban is kind of becoming meta-ish now, but I used it before it was cool.
Sometimes I bring Sabotage and a sabo toolbox with Jake, but never touch a hook (just because).

I'm looking forward to trying some of the perk buffs from the PTB. I didn't get into many PTB matches, so I didn't have much of a chance to test things out. I actually might start using Deja Vu, as I think that will help with idiot teammates banging out all the gens in a row and leaving us with a 3-gen defense game.
  • As Hag, teleporting into grabbing someone out of a vault, especially if I get that front-side "grab them by the throat" animation.

As Billy or Bubba, chasing someone into a dead end or corner where I have the only way out blocked.

It seems like this could be solved my setting survivors' auto-ready to 20 seconds instead of 5, but leaving killers at 5 seconds.  No more last second switches.

Errr.. its easier than that... why would survivors be able to modify their equip inside the killer's lobby ?
They already have a survivor lobby / SWF lobby to pick their equip and click Ready

But what if they're queuing solo and using the minute before the match to discuss tactics? They might want to change something after they find out what others are bringing, and I'm inclined to allow it. I'm very much in favour of giving killers an extra 15 seconds to deal with the last-minute switching problem though.

  • There is a bug where sometimes if you have 3 a 4th will never join.

Also, the playerbase is kind of split between the PTB and the Live game right now. I play late night EDT and I've had trouble getting full lobbies since the PTB came out.

The "unique skins" your talking about is the white outfit for Kate therefore meaning the other skins you so desperately want are already out for the other characters and have been for awhile. It's as simple as that. You just misunderstood what the devs where talking about.
This. Every killer and survivor that you can buy with shards has two cosmetic outfits. You only get the second outfit if you paid cash. There's your unique cosmetic.
  • Well, the rank reset can still drop you below rank 15. Anyone who doesn't at least make it to rank 12 will reset to 16 or lower at the end of the season.

  • I pick my outfit/perks/addons/etc before I even enter the queue.

Occasionally just after rank reset I'll get people in the lobby asking everyone if they're a noob. The easiest response to that is to switch to a P3 character and back to what I really want to play, even though P3 means nothing but time spent.

  • The perk icon will light up when you look at him, regardless of whether you're dreaming or not. If you're not in the dream world, you won't see his aura but he will see yours.

If you watch the perk icon you can still know which direction he's in.

    [BAD WORD] Trapper.

I'm a trap magnet. I'll step in all the stupid obvious traps out in the open, like a blind moron, even when running small game ("oooh, a totem!" Snap). It should probably annoy me more, but I just can't help but laugh at myself and how stupid I can be when it comes to his traps. So I kinda like facing him.

I have the same problem, but I can't blame the trapper for it. It's my own stupid fault. My worst was getting hooked in the basement of Blood Lodge for the first time in the match, right as the last gen was done.

1.) I got unhooked, vaulted out the window, and landed in a trap. Before he picked me up, I watched him reset that trap.
2.) I got unhooked again, vaulted out the same window, and landed in the same trap. I watched the trapper shake his head at me before he reset the trap.
3.) I wiggled enough to knock him into a trap at the top of the stairs, vaulted out the SAME FRACKING WINDOW, into the SAME trap for the THIRD time. A Bill ran up, released me from the trap, and took a hit for me.
4.) Running for the exit gate I vaulted another window, landed in another trap, and everyone else just left through the gate. I can't really blame them for that TBH.

I played so well the whole match, only to faceplant at the end. I still pipped, but...

Make it a habit to always look directly at a wall when you're picking someone up. It's not always possible of course, but if you're close to and looking at a wall or tree, they usually can't flashlight you. Sometimes I'll even delay hitting someone if it looks like I'll down them out in the open. Just keep chasing until they get close enough to a wall.

This. Plus baiting works against some survivors. Just pretend you're going to pick them up, and try and hit the the flashlighter. I've also heard that spamming drop, will drop the survivor before they're saved but I haven't tried it myself.

If you're playing Trapper or Hag you can bait by pretending to put down a trap, which works a bit better than just standing over the downed survivor and looking down.

  • Well, I had a long post with tons of detail, but the forums ate it and I can't find the saved draft. So...

Freddy, because you never know which side he is coming from when you hear the lala's, he gets a free hit on you when he puts your under, and he's generally super annoying.

    This ^^^

    Plus bad Hags.

Freddy is annoying no matter what, even though I usually escape against him (sleep, run away, lose him, fail a skill check so he finds you again, repeat).

The Pig is annoying when she tunnels the guy with the RBT. It's like they don't even realize that person won't be doing gens for at least a minute. Use that time to knock other people off gens, or hook somebody else FFS.

A good Hag is a fun, terrifying game. A bad Hag puts 15 traps around a hook even though she only has ten so she's just erasing old traps.

I usually survive against Freddy, but he's still just plain annoying to play against. Get put to sleep, run him around for a while, lose him, then fail a skill check to wake up so he knows where you are again, try to hide without knowing which direction he's coming from, repeat. Bond is a godsend against him, just so you can find someone else to wake you up.

Going up against a good Pig player can make for a fun game, but most Pigs put on an RBT and then tunnel you to death. They don't seem to realize that you're not going to be doing any generators for at least a minute with that thing on your head. I played against a good one last night, and she had EXCELLENT saw box RNG. The boxes were literally in each corner of the Rotten Fields map. Both times I got an RBT on my head I found the key on the third box with seconds to go, just because I had to run so far to get to each box. No matter where I started, it would have been impossible to check all four boxes before a headpop.

I'll add "a bad Hag" to the list, solely because once they put the third trap down right by the hook, you just want to suicide and get it over with. The worst one of those put down over a dozen traps in front of my hook. I'm not sure if they didn't realize they only had ten traps, or they just kept putting down traps in a feeble attempt to make it look like they weren't camping. Either way every other survivor ignored my waving arms and charged right in, creating a massive cluster****. On the other hand, going up against a good Hag is both terrifying and fun.

And yeah, even in the current situation stealth is very possible. The only exception might be doc with the illusion addon, very hard to be stealthy against that, but lets face it..... how often do we verse a doc with that specific build

When you see a doc illusion, just walk through it. That makes it disappear.

Games have reached peak toxicity and frustration. Be it as Killer or as solo Survivor, everyone's an ######### towards everyone. This event really only brings out the worst in people.

I mostly play against people wanting to farm. It's actually very boring since I don't care about the double BP and just want to play actual rounds, not farmland.

Same here. I've tried to make it obvious that I just want to play the game, and still get survivors bodyblocking me mid-chase to let the killer put me on a hook. If I didn't participate in the mass unhooking of the other survivors, why would they think I'd want them to farm me for points? The worst game of the bunch only had two party streamers in play, but I was having to waste Dead Hard to get around the other survivors and I ended up leaving a decent medkit behind because the farming killer was using Franklin's. That one made me salty enough to quit playing for the night.

I don't care if they farm each other. They shouldn't expect me to be happy when I'm forced into it unwillingly.

    Pig

I hadn't played her at all until a few days ago. I decided to level her up to get MYC on Hag, and I figured I might as well use all the bonus BP stuff I'm getting on her. She's fun, and you can do some silly stuff with her.

  • Hag or Doctor, though I'm starting to really like Pig as well.

  • I think my "favourite" totem spawn is the one on Asylum that spawns in an open patch of ground halfway beyween the asylum and the wall, with no objects around it (not even grass).

    Imagine the possibilities:
    30k base BPs + 30k double bp weekend + 30k WGLF/BBQ + 5x bloody party streamers = 240k BPs from a single match!

So i would recommend everyone, when there are several bloody party streamers active. Show a heart to your fellow survivors and killers and keep the match alive for as long as possible. Everyone is a winner!

Btw. I don´t think Farming is bannable. (but this might need an official confirmation)

You'll never get 30000 from BBQ and WGLF. That would require 4 stacks before doing anything.

The bonus from WGLF or BBQ is calculated after the match is complete. It doesn't matter when in the match you get your stacks.
  • Each "100%" adds your base BP to the total. So, if you get 20k BP...

    Double BP: 40k
    + WGLF: 60k
    + 1 streamer: 80k
    + 2 streamers: 100k
    + 3 streamers: 120k
    + 4 streamers: 140k
    + 5 streamers: 160k

The max you can get is 32k * 8 = 256k, if you get a max score game with double BP weekend, full WGLF, and 5 party streamers.
  • You don't have to play Nurse. If you master Nurse you'll probably have an easier time of it, but most killers are viable even at high ranks, as long as you play them well.

There are several streamers/YouTubers who rotate through the killers at Rank 1, and they still manage to maintain that rank. Tru3ta1ent plays a rotation of all killers at R1, and the only one he doesn't do well with is Freddy. Hell, Marth88 maintains Rank 1 while playing Wraith regularly.

IMO, if you want to have an easier time of it you should master Nurse, Hag, or Billy. The others (aside from Freddy, ugh) can do it but it will be more difficult.

  • If you mouse over the perk on the F1 screen for that character, it will say something like "this perk has been unlocked and will show in the bloodweb for all killers/survivors" (probably not 100% accurate wording, but pretty close).

  • But if you only had to watch one exit gate, survivors would never escape. Gens are done, go to the exit gate and sit there.

  • @StigWH68 said:
I also got the doctor in P3 and all u get after levelling up 200 lvl all u get is some blood on ur coat and face and on the weapon ??? thats why i dont prestige any characters anymore its just [BAD WORD] cosmetics !!!! Hwo give a F*** about cosmetics :D stupid

Actually, it also improves your chances of getting items, offerings, and addons of higher rarity in the bloodweb.

  • I'd say 7/10 on average. That rating doesn't really fluctuate unless I come up against the most toxic parts of the community, but I just remind myself that those people are at fault, not the game. There are a few things that need fixing (totem placement, some killer buffs that seem to be incoming already, a few bugs)

  • I think people underestimate Boil Over because the effects are mostly invisible to the survivor. I've seen multiple cases on streams/videos where the killer walked past an obvious hook because there was no aura, and several cases where the extra movement knocked the killer off course significantly.

Personally, it's helped me twice that I remember, even though I've only used it in KYF matches (I haven't leveled up Kate at all for ranked games). Once on Grim Pantry it made the killer fall through one of the holes in the larger building, which allowed me to wiggle off before he could get to a hook. Another was in Lery's, he walked right past an obvious hook and got palletslammed trying to reach what he thought was the closest hook. On one of Space Coconut's videos, there was a clear case of him walking past a hook on the bottom floor of the Game and running into several barriers, giving the survivor enough time to wriggle off.

  • @Runiver said:
    come"back" ?
    It has never left.

This. NC has always been one of the top picks for killer perks. I use it on most of my killers, and it's wonderful on Hag.

  • Survivor: A pip is a win. For the most part, I think the current pip system for survivor adequately measures your contribution.

Killer: 2 kills and a pip. If I get 2 kills I'm very likely to pip anyway, because I play very actively, running around the map and getting in as many chases as possible. If I manage to get 2 kills but not pip, it's a draw and it probably means the survivors were very stealthy and clever. If I get less than 2 kills, it's a loss.

  • 250 is about my limit. I've played matches as high as 350, but in those I tend to get hit mid-vault or through pallets. Also, @Cetren is absolutely right in saying that stability is more important than absolute ping. If the ping is jumping back and forth in the lobby, you're likely to get lag spikes in-game.

  • IMO, most of the outfits are bleh, or just recolors. The only ones I really like are red dress Hag, Russian-looking Huntress, the wedding dresses for the Nurse, and the garbage bags for the Nurse. Of course Nurse has the most outfits I like, because I absolutely suck at Nurse.

The Trapper and Wraith have some decent weapons, but I don't like their special outfits at all. The Hillbilly has nothing good. The Doctor, eh... his new stuff is decent but it just doesn't jump out at me. Some of the Clown's recolors actually look better than his normal outfit, but I don't like the special outfit at all, especially the wooden-like mask.

Again, that's just my opinion. Some people seem to like the ones I dislike, so I guess it's all good in the end.

  • I've seen an influx of "OMG Speedhackers" videos on YouTube, but I still haven't met one in-game.

EDIT: To clarify, those YouTube videos were definitely actual speedhackers.

  • Maybe they're waiting for the past few winners to respond to the email saying they won?

    /runs off to check email...
    Damn

  • This happens on PC too. Even in ranks 10-20, I get people who DC as soon as they see a killer they don't like, or when they get downed the first time, or when they fail their DS skill check, or when they're getting mori'ed, or when you down them for their last hook, or when they get farmed by their teammates, or when the killer doesn't immediately sprint to the other side of the map after hooking them...

Heck, I could probably go on like that for a while longer if I wanted.

  • I would bet that you repaired gens with someone else helping you most of the time. If you repair 3 gens by yourself you get Iridescent Lightbringer, but if 2 people repair four gens working together the whole time they each get Gold Lightbringer. However, you do get bonus Bloodpoints for performing cooperative actions.

Assuming you repaired 3 gens, if even one survivor got more than 30% of any of those gens, it would have dropped you to Gold Lightbringer. Since you maxed Objective, I'd bet it was even more cooperative work than just 31% of a gen.

EDIT: I forgot the 5 points for being on a gen when it was finished, so other survivors would have had to help for at least 46% of one or more generators to drop you to Gold.

In some recent devstreams devs said that they decided to add a blurr effect to the clown gas because it is annoying to be blinded. I heard that flashlight blind will be reworked too, do we know when this will happen?

No clue when it will happen. They have yet to say anything else on it. My guess is sometime before the end of 2018. Would be really nice if the blind just faded to black vs a piercing white. Its especially problematic for people sitting in dark rooms or have a sensitivity to light.

Yes, I would definitely prefer a fade to black. I know my character got blinded, do they have to blind me too?

  • I don't think it would be all that OP if it spawned and walked toward the survivor, but did not turn to follow them when they ran away.

Of course, very few people seem to know that you can make the illusions disappear just by walking through them. Every time I see a Doctor illusion, I just leave the gen to walk through it, then go back to repairing.

  • All BP offerings are cursed for me. If I put in bonus Objective, i spend the whole game getting chased or hook saving. If I put in Altruism, either everyone beats me to the hook or nobody gets hooked. If I put in Boldness the killer tunnels someone else. If I put in Survival I die.

I don't think AFK should be bannable. At best it's a free pip (if you manage to do enough gens), at worst it's a safety. Also free loot from chests, and free BP from totems and Boldness (which I think you still get from lullaby). It's kinda dumb, but killer isn't holding the game hostage and they aren't hurting anyone but themselves.

That said, I will still report you and block you so I never have to deal with you again. Let BHVR figure out if you deserve punishment or not, I'll take my safety/free pip, 10k BP, and flashlight I found in the basement.

With no he’s totems, and wraith in a corner, the survivors will de-pip. Only one not to de-pip is if someone dies almost all the gens. You get bronze benevolence, and iri unbroken. With that you need gold lightbringer to pip. Someone’s gonna de-pip. Which just shows why such an action should never be allowed.

Not true for multiple reasons. First, you forget about safety pips. You can finish a game without pipping or depipping. Second, getting Gold Lightbringer would be 8/9 points, so you'd still safety pip. Third, it's still possible to find the killer by walking around and looking for Boldness rewards, so you could theoretically get Evader by hanging around close to the killer for a while (not teally worth it IMO, but possible).

The only way to depip against an AFK killer is to do no gens at all.

    You're guaranteed:
    Iridescent Unbroken = 4 points
    Bronze Benevolent = 1 point

That's 5 points guaranteed. You need 6 points to safety pip and 9 points to single pip.

Doing just 1/3 of a generator by yourself gives you Bronze Lightbringer, which gives you a total of six points. That's a safety pip, so you're not depipping.

Doing 1 whole generator by yourself gives you Silver Lightbringer. Two gens by yourself is Gold Lightbringer. Three gens by yourself is Iridescent Lightbringer, which would allow you to pip.
1 … 8 9 10 11
