I haven’t had a game in a long time where nobody cleansed so it’s not that big a deal. At least she’s guaranteed one though.
Wonder what they will change her add on to. Was it the apple? Start with 1 extra fountain already corrupted?

They really only need breakable walls in the main buildings, like the wretched shop and disturbed ward and some in some op loops, maybe one in the junk yard buses
I feel like the buses are too short to receive one.
Ironworks however has plenty of real estate to work with. Guess we will have to wait and see

I don’t think shack needs one to be honest. Theres more mindgame potential and once the pallet has gone it loses its strength.

-
Its rank reset. This is low rank players in their natural habitat. This is why BT and DS were made so strong.
All you can do is try to grind your way up to red ranks.
-
Thank you. I’m glad someone can put theirselves in other peoples shoes and sympathise.
Green ranks are notorious for this. As you say killers go immediately for the tunnel without any reason. When it happens game after game after game after game after game it’s where survivors are conditioned to become so sensitive about tunneling.
Seeing someone on death hook vs someone who hasn’t been hooked and you go for the person on death hook? Yeah a lot of survivors don’t care about that. It sucks but people understand it.
However proxy camping hooks and going for the tunnel immediately after unhook and ignoring every other survivor in your way until you’ve eliminated one out of the game? It’s this tunneling that people hate. Once the first chase starts that’s it. Your entire game now is going to be spent running from the killer. You’ll never be allowed to do anything else or earn any other points all because you had the misfortune of being found first. It’s not even a good strategy against good survivors that’s the worst part. These killers just tunnel and NOED though and when they get up the ranks and it stops working because survivors aren’t as easy to catch and others do gens in the meantime these killers blame it on the game, not their own playstyle.
When so many games are like this it’s easy to see why DS exists. I’m not saying DS is perfect, I’m not saying anyone had to like it but you can see why it was made the way it was and why it was made so strong. Bad killers are to blame for DS.
-
Should it be restricted? Yes
Will it ever be restricted to 2 players? No
Sadly it’s a bit of a necessary evil. Helps bring more players to the game and helps keep the 4 vs 1 ratio the game needs.

It's weird. In terms of balance I think the game is the best it's ever been for both sides, but the matchmaking and ranking systems are so busted that in most games people are completely mismatched in terms of skill. Add queue times in the mix and you get a bunch of unhappy players..
Everyone is mismatched in rank and nobody is allowed to quit.
So a lot of games now are either survivors giving up on 1st hook or killers going afk.

Slugging for the 4k is not debatable. It's ensuring the 4th survivor doesn't get hatch first. To be honest it just sounds like you're salty that you get cucked of the hatch a lot, lol
But the hatch can be closed now.
It sounds like I’m someone who would like a boring part of the game changed. I don’t see what’s wrong with giving my opinion. You’re free to give yours without trying to make assumptions such as “oh you must get cucked a lot”
I don’t slug for the 4k as killer either because I find it boring. The chases are the fun part: Looking for that last immersed survivor is boring.

You are quite funny. First of all it doesn't matter if you find it boring since you never care what the killer can enjoy. You're right only and only in the third case, for the first two cases are the same pathetic excuses that I received via message when I opted for this strategy
"It wasn't fun, you won because you didn't hang us on the hook D:"
It is a legit strategy whether you like it or not and we are not your babysitters who only have to worry about your enjoyment and never about ours
From a Rank 1 Survivor and Killer, stop playing only one side and play both. Only at that moment would you understand that there are many things that a killer finds boring to have against but who knows why no one cares and indeed the killer is told not to complain because it is part of the game. Really, if you want to talk about balancing the game, you have to try and suffer what both sides feel. As a survivor, I personally hate the mistakes of my teammates more than the killer himself.
Well thanks for not actually reading my post at all. I said slugging to build pressure was fine. Slugging for the 4k is boring but debatable as to whether it is still needed in an age where the hatch can be closed.
An I wrong for giving my opinion? Why do you think I said it’s debatable? Because I know some people are for it. I didn’t flatout say it should be removed did I?
You say you play both sides but your post doesn’t come off like it. You can tell by how worked up people get over little things.
God windows are boring too 🤐...oh wait I MUST be a killer main now.
@kidmaxx When all 4 are slugged why not start hooking? Why not just end the game for them and move on?
But no I’m the one that needs to grow up....

A win without a pip, for those who don't want to rank up for a variety of reasons. One big reason being that purple ranks have the best queue times as killer.
If you're that impatient about waiting for minutes, just DC, and wait 5. It's part of the game, there's a bleedout timer, and it's not breaking any rules. DS ruins the game for a lot of killers. You can hook 2 other people and still be hit by it, or even worse, if someone is unhooked during EGC, you're screwed. There's zero counterplay to DS if the doors are opened.
But yes, let's worry about survivors having to lay on the ground for a few minutes. LOL. It absolutely IS entitlement. You think you're entitled to have fun. You think it's the killers responsibility to make sure you have fun? No. It's not. Make your own fun, get good, don't get caught. Otherwise deal with being slugged.
Comparing DS to purposefully leaving people to bleed out to troll them or to derank and go against less skilled opponents 🙄
and again, you say I’m entitled...

That's the best thing yet. I love it. Holy crap, lol
The entitlement is REAL, holy smokes, lmao
What entitlement? What does the killer gain from leaving all 4 to bleed out?
It’s only done to ruin the game for other people. Unless you take enjoyment in that, and you call ME entitled...

@mouse0270 said:
I've got no problem when killers slug for those reasons... but slugging to stop someone for getting hatch is just being a sweaty try hard for a 4k.
If you're slugging because there isn't a hook near by or the survivors are playing in a manner that you have to such as sabo squads, then yeah, slug away.
Really the only time I ever complain or hear people complain is when you slug for a 4k having no idea where the last survivor is located.
Pretty much this.
There are three kinds of slugging..
- Slugging to build pressure or avoid DS - Fine
- Slugging for the 4k - Boring
- Slugging to let people bleed out - Not ok.
I think most people agree the first option is ok. The second is debatable depending on who you ask. The third should be bannable imo
I get why killers slugged for the 4k before because the hatch was completely survivor sided but with the new EGC being heavily killer sided and killer being able to close the hatch I don’t think it’s needed anymore. Its just really boring. If the killer sees the other survivor as they slug one its ok but when they go on a full 4 minute hunt looking for a blendette in the cornfields I’m really not surprised that so many people disconnected.
This forum would have you believe devs hate killers and love survivors and yet this is still in the game.

They kept swapping between survivors in the pre-lobby so I had no idea they had four keys. At the end I assumed at least one had a key due to the Kate waving over her last teammate and gen progression stopped.
I still killed half of the team and they only got out due to a key. So it’s whatever
I guess I can’t complain about four keys though since people think Spirit is overpowered and the easiest killer in the game. Darn. Should’ve played better.
People say she’s easy to play but I see so many low ranks struggle to pick up her up and play. You don’t see them struggle so hard with 115% killers.
Spirit isn’t just sound a lot of it is prediction. That’s why experienced survivors can juke a spirit quite a lot and if she misses her phase then she’s 110% until her power recharges.
She’s doesn’t require as much effort as Nurse or Huntress but I think a lot of the beef with Spirit is people just following what they read online.
If I play Spirit I see so many survivors that just crouch in front of the pallet. Like no ######### she’s going to get easy hits when you do that.
-
@Splinterverse said:
I think they should remove struggle. Then, if someone really wants out they can just go to the killer and get hooked a third time.
If they don't do that, they should give survivors a benefit from suicides like 1 less gen to do or something.
This problem has increased significantly since the DC penalty. So we've moved from both sides being punished by DC to just survivors being punished. That is not good.
Probably why all the killer mains are rejoicing.
I dunno about it benefitting ALL killers though. I hate it and I’d rather just have a forfeit game option. 1 gives up on hook within first minute, so next one gives up on hook. That leaves you to bully 2 survivors who have no chance. 1 dies, I let other have hatch.
Otzdarva had 6 games in a row like this earlier. Like me he said the game was thrown and he would rather just disconnect but couldn’t due to the penalties.
There are some killers like myself that just want a competitive game. I hate having them thrown like this so it definitely ruins games for killer too. If you play survivor you end up sympathising with the other survivors.
Then there are the other kinds of killers. 2 give up on hook and they still slug for the 4k and give a nice “EZ EZ” in post game chat. Those are the only people benefitting from this.
-
Collateral damage.
This does make me wonder how many disconnects were intentional disconnects though. Everyone in that game likely thought you disconnected.
In fact there has been a large number of random disconnects the past few months. People disconnecting when theres no need to. A lot have experienced crashes or server kicks.
I can’t remember which update it started with. In fact I’m pretty sure it started with dedicated servers. They came in and were buggy at first....but haven’t really become much more stable since.
It’s almost like the dc penalties were premature but oh well. If BHVR wishes to remain arrogant it’s their golden calf they’re risking.
-
MMR likely won’t solve the problems but giving anything a try is probably better than what we have now.
-
@MegMain98 4 keys ouch. First time I’ve ever seen that.
Unless you stop them doing 3 gens they’re basically guaranteed an escape no matter what.

Neither need to be nerfed. They just need to be made more rare.
Not EVERYTHING needs to be nerfed. There is such thing as overbalance, and it's what kills games by making them a boring snoozefest.
The problem is DBD isn't a card game or a board game. It's not like playing Uno where you put little skill and effort in, so you're not so bothered when you get screwed by random chance.
DBD is a videogame. You can put blood, sweat and tears into a game as killer. Working your ass off against a swf genrush squad. Eventually they make a mistake, they 3 gen themselves. You've eliminated one of them. You feel like you've really worked hard for this victory......oops they all just jumped through the hatch. Despite all your hard work and you giving it 110% effort you get.... ENTITY DISPLEASED.

Thing is in situations like these the problem is more with the map design than with the actual perk. And it takes skill to realize and plan your path optimal to use DH like that. Good survivors are capable of combining several loops to a maximum use, instead of playing from loop to loop like a bot. Countering that would require the killer to realize such combinations and try to break them as a killer, if possible. But still it's more of a map design issue which is less relevant on some maps than others.
Not really. The survivor runs towards the nearest pallet or vault they see and DH gives them just enough distance to make it safely. Some may plan their route but you don’t need to.
-
@Bard said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1098446#Comment_1098446
Thing is, they don't have to use it skillfully.
If they use it to get distance to a pallet when they should have gone down, that doesn't exactly take any skill, has nothing the killer can do to counter it, and can easily extend chases by at least 30-40 seconds.
When that ######### happens, you bet your ass I feel cheated. I got robbed of a hit, a down, because they pressed a button and went from being "unsafe" to being "completely safe". About the same feeling as when somebody Sprint Bursts away in an open field, or when a guy with DS jumps in az locker.
That’s it. People that say it takes skill or to bait it out.....are they playing against green ranks?
You run towards a window. Killer is going to get a hit. You tap E to give you that small boost forward, just enough distance so that now the killer can’t get a hit and now you have the upper hand in a safe loop. Run the loop, drop the pallet safely and then move on to the next.
It takes no skill and buys so much time. It’s too strong for how easy it is to use. They should just have i-frames and remove the distance.

About time. Without giving any names there was another that used to derank off stream - often with disconnects then play toxic clicky clicky flashlight and old DS with swf and bully low rank killers and talk crap about those players on their stream. They also had friends inside BHVR telling them when their friends were getting close to the ban threshold.
Which is funny how everyone else was at risk of bans but their friends got a warning beforehand.
There was a little cliquè. One of the names in here is part of that clique I believe.

Most people think I'm a salty killer main that wants survivors nerfed into the ground. This couldn't be further from the truth, I play both sides. I actually enjoy strong perks, so long as they have counters or downsides.
If a survivor is spending the majority of the game walking, or sprinting with exhaustion at 99%, that takes skill, you don't get to use it at any time. If they sprintburst away from a gen, great, I'm not going to follow. I got them off the gen and wasted their perk.
Dead hard though, it's a different animal, because you must commit to a chase to get them to burn it, which is a crippling time waster. A true killer equivalent would be a perk that granted a nurse blink every 60 seconds without warning or a way to get rid of it. Survivors would lose their minds if that happened.
I’m just used to swf. Go to a gen, survivor sprint bursts to nearest jungle gym. Meanwhile discordance going crazy in another gen. Go over there, one goes straight to nearest pallet other sprint bursts away. Then discordance goes off on precious gen. It can be a massive time waster if used correctly.

Sprint burst and balanced landing at least have some drawbacks and require skill to use. There's basically no negative to DH.
Balanced has enough drawbacks yes.
Sprint burst....eh it still vastly outweighs the negatives since you can use it immediately no matter where you are. It also requires zero skill to waste so much of a killers time.
-
What does it matter? Most games have suicides on 1st hook now anyway.
I was watching Otdarva and he had 6 suicide games in a row. He might have had more after that but I turned it off.
dc penalties have solved very little and just created a new problem. Sucks for everyone left that they need to see the game through to the end. Otz just wanted to quit but he couldnt
-
If used for distance it’s a free pallet or vault. It’s essentially a third health state for survivors and there’s nothing you can do to stop it. That’s why I’d rather have this nerfed over DS or BT.
Sprint Burst is another bad one that gets overlooked. You go to a gen and they get a free escape to the nearest jungle gym adding so much time on to the chase, or you just leave them and gain nothing if they sprint to a strong area. Sure they have to walk at times but that doesn’t compensate for what you lose as killer.

Salty reply - says the guy mewling about being slugged. Yep, I'm the salty one.
Get slugged and deal with it. Or DC. Either is fine by me.
You know if the players drop from this game its because of attitudes like this.
-
Well that’s the thing. They just want to stop disconnects and not look at some of the reasons why people disconnect. They were gloating about how survivors can’t disconnect with certain killers anymore.
Ok I agree with that to an extent. People shouldn’t be able to disconnect until they get a killer they want...
However look at Legion. That was fundamentally broken design. It took six months for them to change him and he’s still awful and everybody wants a rework. Asking people to put up with bad design for 6 months or longer is not the attitude you want to take with your customers. It’s only going to hurt the game in the long run.
Maybe stop rushing killers out. It feels like Oni only just came out yesterday and already we have a trailer for the new one. Meanwhile GF still broken, Legion still boring, and most killers still have bugs relating to their powers. Fix what you have first.

Nobody is glossing over it being "dull". Nobody cares about it being dull. Being looped is also very dull. Around and around in a circle, drop safe pallet, rinse, repeat. Abuse god window, rinse repeat. You don't think that's dull?
Deal with it. Not everything needs to be done to suit survivors delicate sensibilities. When you get slugged, it's part of the game, and it's called pressure. Just like when you loop a killer, it's called a distraction so your team can do gens.
I can see why people talk to you how they do. You're biased and one-sided, and want everything spoon fed to you. You're not worth the keystrokes because you blatantly ignore all logic. Later, lol
/discussion
Ok thanks for the salty reply.
Again you keep going on about “pressure”. Its like your purposefully ignoring the fact that in the context of this thread it was NOT about “pressure” slugs, it was about slugging people and leaving them to bleed out just to ruin the game for them. There’s a huge difference and the fact that you keep ignoring this makes me question your motives.
As for the rest of your post I’ve said many times that god loops are dull and should be removed, so much for the bias huh? The forum is full of killer mains and they can’t stand to hear any defense of “the other side”.
-
@Frankie said:

Bleeding out is part of the game. Slugging is a tactic. You have plenty of counters to it. Survivors in no way need yet another spoon fed way out of something.
Killer's best friend is time. Slugging provides them time.
Its a very dull part of the game. Again though you’re not looking at this in context. The OP clearly states killers leaving survivors to bleed out while watching over them.
Why are the killer mains always conveniently glossing over this? Just be honest its because you dont want anything to interfere with slugging for the 4k because it means that much to you....even though the killer has the ability to close the hatch now.
-
Because they don’t want to have to learn how to play effectively, so they resort to camping which is the cheapest and easiest way to get kills in any online game.
It’s frowned upon in every game but those people don’t care about sportsmanship they only care about the win. Hence why people like that are drawn towards NOED.
Iri heads, instasaw, omegablink, old ruin, noed, ebony mori.
You’d get those builds so much. They don’t care how they win so long as they win.

Let's stop trying to veil wanting to DC without penalties as any other reason. "Let me bleed out faster because I want to give up".
I mean endgame. Why would someone bleed out when there are other survivors left to pick them up?
Stop getting riled by the thought of something taking away your precious 4k
-
Just farm with the survivors. They’ll get the hint soon enough you aren’t out to kill and just want to practise long range shots.

DS is not mandatory lol.
The times I've run it, they just leave me on the ground and chase the unhooker.
If you go for safe saves and dont rush or unhook while they can still see you, it's almost a non issue.
BT is the same. It's only useful for stupid risky unhooks, or EGC unhooks when theyve resorted to camping. And that's like 5-10% of the game if that.
Wish we played the same games. In the games I get the killer more often than not refuses to step too far from the hook. BT is the best way to get unhooks, if you dont take it in some games then you don't get safe unhooks.
Also DS, it's your only chance because 90% of killers try to tunnel off hook.
-
There is a lot in the game that allows people to be toxic. It's time the developers did something.
In the case of slugging it's simple. Bleed out button. Doesn't need to be instant but if it just cut the time down from 4 minutes to 2 minutes that would be something.
-
@KornySon10 said:

You literally have to be running BT and DS in solo Q if you want a good chance to win at the high ranks. All the sweaty killers are going to tunnel and camp when the games go south, and those are literally the only answer to it.
Otherwise, you can just watch your team die off after they get camped from 2nd hook to dead and there will be nothing you can do about it.
DS is the only thing that might save you from the basement, or getting farmed by your team, or just getting tunneled straight off the hook.
I feel compelled to run iron will as well, otherwise you are literally a free down to any competent spirit; and there's a ton of those at red ranks.
So that's 3 perks gone already. I like having an exhaustion perk so there's no room for crap like detectives hunch.
Maybe you can do left behind key and not care if everyone dies, but I don't like doing that often.
Chests I find worthless, if I want an item in a match I will bring it. Traps? I don't see trapper at high ranks ever.
Agreed. DS and BT are mandatory perks. If you play any amount of time in survivor you realise this.

a lot of people face camp these days out of frustration due to what the game has become.
i understand that. The game is very frustrating as a killer, yet as a survivor its way more lax. If you lose as a survivor, its mostly up to your own fault and your teams, but if you lose as a killer, its honestly not necessarily your fault.
The game is rigged in favor of the survivors.
“If you lose as a survivor, its mostly up to your own fault and your teams, but if you lose as a killer, its honestly not necessarily your fault.”
This is sadly the attitude that litters the forum. There’s no sense of personal responsibility there, no reason to try and improve.

It blows. Used to be awful with old Ruin because the totem would last most of the game. Still does with new Ruin.
