There has been quite a few clips of hackers circulating recently. Seems it’s on the rise.
Whether its done because players can’t dc or if it’s just coincidental timing who knows, but it sadly seems to be on the rise.
EAC isn’t doing much against it.

I can think of 2 scenarios:
1) The person who came up with this challenge is not in touch with the game & the playerbase.
2) The person is well aware and knowingly decides to go through with this challenge anyway.
Is there a scenario 3?
Not that I can think of lol
They’re either unaware or trolling.

Or they are to tired to playing with Higher ranks ... Maybe
Yeah thats what I meant by the bodged rank reset. It could be more to do with that.
No idea what the actual reason is but afk killers and 1st hook suicide survivors are cropping up far too frequently.
-
I don’t get how this makes it into the game. Anyone who plays DBD regulrarly knows this is a bad idea.
Killers HATE keys. Now they’re going to get lobbies full of keys or plunderers and every survivor in the entire game needs to use a key twice during this period if they want the rift challenge.
Killers are going to bring Franklins to try and combat it, meaning survivors are going to be extremely unhappy that they can’t get their stupid challenge because killers are just using franklins and camping anyone with a key.
It’s just going to create salt, bad will and even further division between the playerbase.

I and my friend played 3 hours of DBD yesterday and only 1 survivor suicided on a hook. Why do people have to exaggerate these things? DC penalties are here to say. There will be no more rage quitting anymore for toxic folks.
The devs should just adjust the DC punishment times to be less severe but that's it.
Exaggerate? Its literally the truth. At least from the past few days.
There has always been minor instances but it has been ridiculous recently.
Whether its bodged rank reset causing people to want to derank, or killers going afk because they dont like the map but cant dc - I don’t WHY they’re doing it I just know that they’re doing it.
Good for you if its not happening to you but to me I’m getting hit hard with it and watching Otz have the same problem lets me know that it’s not just me.

Ermm you can just do the gens unopposed quickly and leave with some bp, how is that a problem?
Did you not read what I said, over half of my games.
If during an evening I have a spare hour or two to play some games do I want to play games that are fun, full of suspense and provide a challenge? Or do I want to “hold M1 unopposed”?
If it isn’t afk killers it’s survivors giving up on hook which is the same problem.
There has always been instances of this but it has been off the charts recently. I’d rather just people dc if they aren’t going to play because at least it wasted less time.

so its the devs fault people afk?
Its the devs responsibility to do something about it, and its the devs fault that people need to wade through ######### just to find a normal game.
I played 7 games last night.
3 had afk killers
1 had survivors suiciding on 1st hook
2 were against nurses on hawkins who absolutely could not play Nurse that map and ended up opening the gates to get people to leave. Guarantee they would have disconnected otherwise. With how they were playing it was basically like having an afk killer
1 was a normal game against a rank 17 Spirit (good matchmaking)
So lets be generous and say I had 3 normal games there and 4 non-games.
I had enough time free to play 7 games of DBD and in over half of those I didn’t even get a game. At least before killers would dc and not waste your time putting you straight back to the queue for a new game. Now they just afk so you have to grind through the game and go through the motions before you’ve even allowed to join a new game.
But it’s totally not bad for the game at all. This won’t hurt it one bit.
-
Tough luck. You’re not allowed to leave and join a normal game until you’ve finished your chores like a good little boy.
Now go give the killer his free hooks.
-
Because having afk killers or suiciding survivors in half the games is a lot better and really healthy for the game right?
-
I’m not saying DS is perfect but for it to be tilting killers so much you really have to question their playstyle.
It’s rare that I ever get hit with new DS, whereas with old DS it was constant. Something like Dead Hard affects me more because that’s used by almost every survivor every chase. The few that don’t have Dead Hard have Sprint Burst. Some Dead Hards you can wait for the attack but for the most part its just used for distance and is unavoidable.
I don’t get how a perk that might only be used on you every couple of games tops is somehow worse than one that goes off about 12 times per game every chase. Unless you’re tunneling a lot in which chase DS will affect you a lot.
-
I’m convinced that Claudette was ex CIA black ops with her sneaking skills.
-
Breaking walls won’t break the game. You need to break walks to break loop. Very much like you would have to break a pallet to break a loop now. If you don’t break the wall the survivor gets to loop the window multiple times.
I can’t see them ever being added to existing jungle gyms unless they rework jungle gyms for existing maps. Don’t worry though killers won’t get a free ride (no matter how much some people ask for it).
I agree with you that solo kind of sucks now. Hopefully new matchmaking helps being out with competent survivors. Though I kind of doubt it. Only so many good survivors to go around, someones going to have to play with the potatoes.
The games biggest issue right now imo is everyone giving up on hook or going afk. Its hard to play a normal game. Half the killers just go afk and you cant even leave until you’ve done all the gens.
-
Speed hacks, 100% Kobe, unlimited instaheals.
Remember though there’s never a good reason to disconnect!
-
He’s a problem within the game. People still like playing him especially the edgelords on reddit but for the most part survivors find him as fun as watching paint dry. If I pick him for a daily the survivors are guaranteed to give up on hook.
I think he’s just really bad game design in general and a low spot for the game. He needs a full rework. They can’t really justify buffing him again because survivors would just give up on hook even more.

I think you are suffering from confirmation bias. if you would look for my post you would see Im actually in favor of a Mori nerf......
I’m not singling out anyone specific I’m saying the attitude in general is completely different.
-
I like how when someone calls for a survivor buff the replies are
”OMGWTF LOLOL LMAO cant believe u wud ask for this dats completely broken stupid entitled surviv0r mainz”
and when killer asks for moris to become standard somehow the replies are more civil and nobody really seems bothered by the crazy imbalance.
Totally not a heavily killer sided forum at all...

It's almost like they are changing matchmaking And it totally wasn't literally the first thing in the dev update.
Because until that comes out at some point in the future, potentially anywhere from 3 months to 2 years who knows - that makes all the problems existing with the game right now magically disappear overnight right?
Just get into game after game where people are afk or give up on 1st hook. All that goes away because new matchmaking is coming one day! Sure is going to be a fun time between now and then

You're comparing tomatoes to chicken. What I'm talking about is game feel, I am not talking about power. Or overall viability. The legion feels nicebecause he can vault windows and pallets and moves fast and can get that satisfying hidden even if it's not as good as the plague with her ability. what I'm saying is the optimal way to play against the plague is to not interact with the mechanic. Accept your fate and be injured the whole game. and people are not interacting with this mechanic so much that the devs are making it so that they have to at least get one corrupted Purge in.
It hasn’t been that way in a long while from my experience. People do cleanse eventually. Once one starts more do it too because then they’re thinking “well might as well if the others are giving her corrupt purge”
I take monitor & abuse and you can get extremely close. Combine it with blood echo to take away their dead hard clutch and you see them cleansing like never before.
Monitor lets you get so close. When you start hooking them over and over again eventually they will cleanse.
Just my experience. The squads that absolutely 100% refuse to heal I haven’t seen in a long time.

Keys break when used to open the Hatch. Keys never used charges for that, and the update only affects what happens at 0 charges.
Will there ever be a use for the broken keys? If you find one in game it’s completely worthless if you didn’t open the chest with Ace in the Hole.
Feels weird getting an item with no purpose. The survivor aura reading add on would be nice as base. Basically just Bond at that point.
-
I’m reading it as a new mechanic so that loops aren’t just about pallets anymore.
IF they ever add breakable walls to existing god loops then it becomes a buff.

These are fundamentally different killers that you're comparing. What made the legion fun what's the fast movement, it changes the way that you play! Plus he's all about getting first hits as opposed to only having to hit once. Not to mention his split pressure cannot be beat. Legion has problems but the plague does not fix any of them because they're different killers with different goals in mind.
If survivors don’t heal then Legion and Plague are both in the same boat - both M1 killers with no power.
The difference comes when survivors DO choose to heal.
Legion - Survivors hold M1 to heal. They hold M1 on gens. Legion can get hits so easily that if survivors want to heal they’re going to be doing nothing but holding M1 all game. Doesn’t help that a lot of Legions run Thana and Mangled add ons. This is why survivors d/c or give up on hook against him. He’s hands down the most boring killer in the game. Not to mention his power is brain dead, tap M2 and just follow the survivor until you get a hit. Then every other survivor in the area gets their location revealed.
Plague - 5 second heals. Removes the tedious aspect of healing. In return the killer becomes more dangerous with a new power. There’s an interesting gameplay loop there which isn’t present with Legion. Plague is far more interesting from a killer standpoint.
I’d say it extends to playing them as well personally. With Plague the vomit stream itself is a fun mechanic. It’s fun to use. If/When you get Corrupt’s also a lot of fun due to the sheer power of it and the fact that you go from an M1 killer to a projectile killer.
With Legion you just tap M2 and run after the survivor. They run, you run. They vault, you vault. Then you tap M1 to get the most braindead hit in the game and then dash onto the next survivor whose location is revealed for you. Legion just feels like auto-mode. The game might as well play itself for you.
Just my opinion but I think Plague is leagues ahead of Legion both to play as and against. If I play Legion for a daily many survivors will just give up on hook and I’m really not surprised.
-
Plague fixed all of the problems that still exist with Legion. Plague was rectifying the mistakes made with Legion.
Plague is fine imo and when I play her people tend to cleanse eventually.
-
Because the devs want to ruin their own game
-
Lets not forget that most of the community wants either keys or moris or both nerfed and yet the developers keep putting tome challenges in the game encouraging their use. Just what everybody wanted! 🙄
-
Breakable walls aren’t going to be put on the problem areas for a long time. It hasn’t even been confirmed it they will be put there or not yet.
-
Nothing they add really matters until matchmaking is fixed. I lost the will to play survivor after this rank reset. Turned it on to do challenges now and yeah unless the killer is afk there’s not a chance I’m ever going to get 5 unbroken emblems.
Just out with noobs and killers that are halfway competent. Can’t even touch a gen because you’re that busy unhooking/healing other survivors.
Then you have killers like Ghostface and Legion that are about as much fun as a bullet in the head.

The hook will be down long enough for the survivor to struggle free. That is all that matters.
We’re going back to the days when Iron Grasp was meta.
-
Because they work on Behaviour time which means they'll do it anywhere within 6-12 months. It's probably coincidental that Plague got buffed around this time.
-
Sabo was an underutilized mechanic and only really useful to full swf sabo squads. They want it to be more accessible to more people and I'm guessing give survivors something else to do other than generators.
2.5 seconds does sound very fast and sabo squads can be infuriating but I'm sure if it's OP it will be nerfed. Gonna be a rough period between the updates though if it is OP 😯

Ok? U do relize that the devs have to make some loops strong stronger to compensate the new mechanic. Which means as killer you are forced to break walls. And if that takes long, it might be even worse.
You're right. Read Peanits post.
==========
"It was tested extensively, but they are largely experimental still. We gave a couple examples of how we're trying them in the new map, but to reiterate, you might have a tile with a really strong window, but breaking a wall next to that window makes it far less safe. It doesn't make it outright unusable for the survivor, but it does mean that they can't loop it three times.
You might want to break it right away, but the more time you spend not chasing survivors is more time they're spending on generators. Going through the whole map to break all the walls at the start is probably going to backfire."
==========
The balance is "really strong window" but you break walls to cut it down. Last part about going the whole map breaking walls implies there will be a good number.
The loops are going to have to be strong enough to justify breaking the walls.
Basically it sounds like walls are the new pallets and will work in a similar way. Break it to cancel the loop.
-
From what Peanits said in the other thread I get the feeling the new maps will have very strong window loops until you've broken walls. Maybe it will be killers disconnecting.

lmao
I think you're right, especially for console players.

Hmm, with the way you word that it sounds like stronger window loops will be created to accommodate this new mechanic.
So Ironworks for example, there's really only one building to add a breakable wall. Only one window that warrants such a mechanic.
So I'm assuming the new map will have a good number of strong window loops until broken.
-
Not gonna lie I think Blendette is the most OP character in the game. More so than Nurse. 4 of them on yamoaka or coldwind and it's GG.
-
I used to take hangmans trick on him sometimes if I saw toolboxes. Thankfully I won't have to waste a perk slot anymore.
-
I used to main Clown so now when I see less experienced Clowns chasing people in my head I'm thinking "No you fool! don't try to tackle that jungle gym with no bottles!" or "stop spamming them! you're just wasting them!"
-
Most survivors are easy to see. It's just Blendettes that need to be nerfed. Maybe then they wouldn't make up 50% of survivors.
-
Congrats. It's the most grindy thing I've ever done in any game. How many hours did it take? I'm a little over halfway there myself.
-
@Peanits said:
You haven't even seen the new map yet, so there's no way to tell what it'll be like to play on. But that aside, DC penalties have you covered. If they choose to DC on it every time it comes up (especially when the chance to get the map is increased), they'll be sitting out for days at a time.
Not to be that guy but will this map be thoroughly tested?
I remember sometime last year I would get stuck in the trees on sheltered woods/old badham a lot. It resulted in quite a few disconnects because I couldn't move at all and had no way out no matter what I tried.
None of us want a repeat of the last update with the basement bug.
-
She's not that bad. The only issue with the Plague is the difference in attitude of the survivors. Some want to cleanse, others think you should never cleanse. If I play Plague and someone cleanses you should see the salt and abuse that cleansing survivor will get post-game.
It's not that bad cleansing against Plague. If she gets corrupt just do your best Claudette impersonation and go immersed like you would against Tier 3 Myers. You just need to be careful about when you cleanse. Don't do it everytime you're affected but at key moments, and try to cleanse at the far edges of the map so that she can't easily reach those fountains without giving up presssure.

with what you said there you countered all the above statements trying to make fun of killer mains that acknowledge that the devs are survivor sided. They won't obviously do anything to normal loops but rather to those that overpowerdly stupid, like they break your ######### chase and you get more vaults than you should.
I'm not sure if you're agreeing with me or disagreeing, but jungle gyms lose their strength once the pallet is gone so they don't need a breakable wall. It's just buildings like ironworks that can't be disabled that need a breakable wall.
-
Sounds like it's being changed so it's more accessible to solos rather than just co-ordinated SWF.
-
It’s possible but I think the odds of a Plague pulling that off are incredibly rare.
It’s like you could theoretically down an entire team with Haunted Grounds but it’s rare it would ever happen.
There are certain other killers who will manage that more frequently though. It’s those that should be looked at.
-
They reduced charges considerably but increased speed moderately.
You couldn’t get any clearer than that

My guess is that it's releasing just before the ptb does
I’m sure they normally reveal the killer earlier.
Why would they leave it until last minute....unless it’s licensed?
-
The more important question is, where’s the new trailer?
-

Then she could just bring Whispers to have an easier time finding you.
Can you even hear whispers with the plagues whispers being so loud?
-
I would bet money that breakable walls won’t affect jungle gyms. There’s a pallet in those and the idea is for the killer to break it. It’s how the survivors stay safe.
I personally think this is more for the strongest windows e.g Ironworks. Where it’s a large building with a window that can be abused over and over again.
-
“The devs are survivor sided”
*Legion exists*
🤐
-
How about they fix the servers that randomly disconnect people, fix the rank update error that somehow counts as a disconnect, fix the gamebreaking bugs and then disconnect penalties would be less of an issue?
They still haven’t commented on that healing bug that creates disconnect standoffs. It was in the game last time you tested the penalties and it’s still in now!!!!!
I like your idea though about the reports. “My team mates are refusing to participate”
Yeah because the issue with this is that if you get trolls who sandbag, people afk, or people who disconnect/suicide on hook within first minute then you’re left behind in a garbage game.
