Are you sure you didn't dc'ed more? I think it resets daily. First two are 5 mins btw.

This is DBD. It couldn’t even reset ranks correctly last week. Xbox servers aren’t working correctly. I wouldn’t be surprised if the dc penalties aren’t even working as intended.

Ot maybe don't get hit down. Get good. Use unbreakable, flip flop, tenacity, no mither, buckle up there all slugging counter play.

Don’t get hit....why didn’t anybody ever think of that.

The only perk you mentioned there which would be truly effective in that scenario is Unbreakable and that’s a 1 time use.

    Lmao Cheapface. I like that.

  • Instasaw Billy is extremely strong but also very easy to use. It’s why he will always be common. People will always flock to whichever killer holds that spot. Its why you see more Billys and freddys than nurses.

Myers is so fun to face against, I dunno why. I just love Myers.

Ghostface is just so wonky on his reveal mechanics that it’s unpleasant to face. I’ve also had so many GF burn Hawkins and Lery’s offerings. Stealth killers give me anxiety.

Still my two favorite horror icons though :D

Myers players for the most part are generally chill people. One of the least likely killers to camp/tunnel I’ve noticed. Also has that scary element when you never know when he’s going to hit tier 3. It’s like Jenga, you know trouble is coming but its that suspense of not knowing exactly when its going to happen. Although I am starting to notice a pattern that its when he chases me for the first time is when he hits tier 3 immediately after stalking everyone else 😒

Ghostface is just a cheap pos. At least wraith gives a bing bong, and Pig crawls slow. GF just gets to walk around with no terror radius. If you’re at a gen in a jungle gym its just a free hit for him if he approaches from the right way. Add in all of them running that stupid sloppy/thana/nurses build and the fact that you have a killer with a higher camp ratio than Leatherface and even Hag and he’s just a nightmare to face. Been noticing so many survivors gen grabbed or exposed and instadowned early game too. Absolutely hate him.

  • They call survivors entitled but if you outplay them for multiple gens they get salty and just stand there hitting you on hook and nodding. How dare that survivor try to survive! They are so entitled.

Normally I’ll loop and evade these players and they only get you down with a combination of bloodlust and NOED.

  • @Malik1178 This community lol I’ve gone from being accused of never playing killer to a killer main.

Dead hard always grants distance. The only time it doesn’t work is when you use it as the killer swings due to latency, this is being looked into though.

@Spooky13 I completely agree. If Trapper places a trap in a doorway like shack of springwood school then the survivor can Dead Hard through but Trapper has to stop to pick up his trap before be can pass through. Why does a killers power hinder him more than the survivor?

  • Feng Min stealing the show once again.

  • @Pirscher said:

You cannot stop a killer going for a 4k if that is what they are aiming for.

    They are the killer!

Maybe just accept that, that particular game didnt go your way and move on? @gatsby

Also, other users have made some good suggestions regarding dealing with slugging scenarios.

    Good luck! ;)

“Maybe just accept that, that particular game didnt go your way and move on?”

Well that’s the entire point really. People have accepted that they’ve lost and they want to move on but need to wait upwards of 4 minutes before being allowed to do so.

  • Legion is arguably stronger now than he was at release after going from 110% to 115% movement speed. You had to cheese the mechanics before to get survivors down and it took a while without franks mixtape.

He’s in the same boat as old Freddy. He’s just too awful to buff. Hopefully the rework comes sooner rather than later.

  • Fav: Myers

Worst: Ghostface or Legion. Can’t decide.

Funny how Myers/GF share similarities yet one is fun and with the other I’d rather uninstall the game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/132075/if-you-are-going-to-bring-breakable-walls-in-killer-shack-across-all-maps-will-leave-the-game

Two sentences and I can already tell you never play killer. The only way you are downing someone at shack is if you have a perk too stop the pallet/window or the survivor made a mistake. The killer shack won't be such a crutch when the wall is breakable.

This is why you gotta play both sides, because then you'll know what is an actual problem or not, and this is not a problem.

Yeah this post is a perfect example of the attitude of this forum.

Killer shack can easily be mindgamed. The person you’re replying to likely does play killer however the difference is they have learned how to get a hit at shack, you haven’t. So there’s no need to start making accusations about how they don’t play killer.

It would still be better off mindgaming it anyway to get the hit, rather than breaking the wall and having the survivor run to the next loop. All this wall does is balance the game for rank 15s.

Having said that survivors get dead hard to cover distance when they mess up a loop anywayso who knows maybe this is just the equivalent. Sucks when one side can just take the skill out of the game.

  • @Levitika said:

You may as well say Moris are a non issue, because the survivors can just choose to disconnect. Not acknowledging a problem doesn't mean there isn't one.

    Survivors often dodge moris anyway.

Fact is there's a lot of BS in the game which is why so many dodge.

  • It's used about as much before. At least now though you don't get the crutch gamers that take the strongest killers with Ruin AND NOED. Hell I still remember all the bad players taking omegablink nurse, 5 blink nurse, instasaw billy, prayer beads spirit, iri head huntress - all with Ruin, NOED and an ebony mori on top.

Unless you're an absolute garbage player it was literally just "pick this build and win".

I wouldn't have too much of a problem with slugging for the 4k if it weren't for the fact that killers will sometimes slug survivors for 4 full minutes before they finally bleed out. Unbreakable? You or the other survivor will be found again, downed and slugged again... further prolonging an already won game (for the killer). Healed? Same thing will happen again.

OP's suggestion of survivors bleeding out faster is therefore great. It lets everyone including the slugged survivor carry on with their day and move on. No one wants to be slugged for 4 straight mins.

Exactly it's boring as hell. I understood it with the old hatch which was a free escape for the survivor but with the new EGC there's no need to, killers have a much higher chance of finding the hatch first since they move faster and can move freely without needing to stealth about. On top of that they get priority and can close the hatch before the survivor can jump in if both are stood on top of it.

    Way I proposed it...

Survivors have a bleedout button. When activated survivors bleedout at 2 x speed unless it is pressed again. This still gives the killer 2 minutes to get the other survivor, and even if they don't they still have a killer sided hatch now.

While the survivor is bleeding out their aura is revealed to the killer. That way if they can't find the other survivor they can find this slug and get the points from them and then look for the hatch.

Hell you could even have the survivor unable to crawl in that situation if it wasn't enough for the killers.

This way the killer won't lose a slug and that survivor only has to wait 2 mins before being allowed to join a new game.

But as I said, Dead Hard doesn't cost you that much time (it's negligible unless you're a fairly unseasoned killer, then it might give you issues, but that's how we learn). DS can be create situations at times where you have no counterplay as a killer, and there's no stopping it. Dead Hard...I mean, unless they are literally in the exit gate when they use it, there's always the likelyhood you'll still get them unless they somehow juked you with dead hard. So to complain about Dead Hard...and not Decisive Strike...seems extremely off to me.

One is just a free chase extender on demand at all times. The other only activates if a survivor is picked up within 60 seconds of being unhooked. Yes you can always still get them with DH but it's just another loop you need to run. You might as well have "Press E to spawn a pallet".

  • @Frankie said:

I'm curious. How do you consider Dead Hard somehow...problematic and unbalanced...and Decisive Strike balanced given the far worse situations when it can be abused? Just a question.

Because the fun of the game is the mindgames between killer and survivor. Having a free speed boost to make up for a misplay takes the skill out of that and effectively means your effort was for nothing.

DS....eh I just tend to not try and hook the person who just got off hook. It's rare I ever get hit by DS and if I do it would be once for the game and that would be it. Meanwhile almost every survivor in the game will use DH in every chase. Normally about 3 survivors run it, once per chase = seeing it used 9 times per game. About 30-50% of those you can bait it out, the other half no it's just a free pallet/vault on a button press.

  • They'd all rotate to hide keys.

  • @LeonardPChurch said:

DH has not worked right since dedicated servers were forced on us. Sprint burst is the new meta. DH's only use is distance now. You sound like a killer who's never played survivor and tried to use DH on the ded servers. Once a killer is within maximum lunge range the command to activiate DH rarely registers before the killer's hit does. You get exausted, your client recognizes the ability was activated, but you still take a hit. It's only use is for distance now if you mess up a loop. It adds less distance between you and the killer than any other exaustion perk so why would ever ask for a nerf. I'm glad when a survivor DH's. No head on, no sprint burst, no BL which all give you a much larger gap to close.

Lithe and Balanced are escape perks. They aren't there to extend loops, they're there to help the survivor get away. DH will be receiving improvements for dedicated servers, at the moment it's just a legit "second chance" perk.

Sprint burst is crutch as hell I give you that. Free loop everytime.

Head on, survivor has to stay still to use it. Doesn't extend loops nor does it interrupt mindgames.

  • @Wicked_Django said:

If slugging is a problem, bring Unbreakable. That’s the counter. Survivors don’t earn hatch. You have as much chance finding it as killers do. Maybe more so when you factor in maps and Left Behind.

The thing is, people say "bring unbreakable" if the killer is slugging. They say "bring DS" if the killer is tunneling, they say "bring BT" if the killer is camping....then minutes later everyone is complaining about survivors running all these perks.

  • This is absolutely ridiculous; paired with the sabotage changes, Killers are now weaker than ever and finishing four generators simultaneously can now be accomplished in 46 seconds.

Non-issue. How many killers accept a lobby with 4 toolboxes?

  • @Frankie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1112243#Comment_1112243

If you can't see Deadhard coming from a mile away as a killer...I mean, it's an easy read 90% of the time. It's like when a killer plays NOED. You can tell they're a NOED gamer long before it procs, if it procs, just by how they play. I really don't think this is an issue with deadhard. Just work on your reads and predictions.

I mean I see a survivor is running towards a pallet or vault, I know a Dead Hard is coming to give them the distance....care to explain how you "bait it out" at that point even when you have correctly predicted it's coming?

  • @Frankie said:

Deadharding for distance is a legit good play, and it's an even bigger dick play if you time it right to dodge a swing, and it's easily baited out. Not a necessary nerf.

How is it easily baited out when it's used for distance? you get a survivor to make a mistake in a loop ensuring you close enough distance to get a hit, then tap E while running towards a pallet or vault and that's it.

  • At a standard shack? No it doesn’t need one. Just cover the cracks in the walls.

Certain buildings are crying out for these though. Ironworks, Abbatoir etc

  • Survivors have it bad too. 4 solo players with no items, killers dig out top tier killers with ultra rare add ons and ebony moris and tunnel mercilessly.

  • This is how rank reset always use to be. It’s especially bad on European servers because those east of the former Iron Curtain play ruthlessly and as toxic as possible.

They just proxy camp hooks and tunnel one person until dead, then if they have time start tunneling another. You’ll never see them without NOED.

Irony is its because of all these green rank killers playing like this that DS and BT are so strong. Killers have nobody to blame but themselves.

  • I agree. It’s a really boring part of the game. There’s little the survivor can do at that point, especially if everytime you help the other survivor up they go back down. Or the killers follows them and they rat you out.

How you would change it to where killers don’t feel robbed of a potential 4k I don’t know but the devs should brainstorm how to make it work. I just find that by that part of the game all the excitement is gone as both killer and survivor. Something to end the game faster would be nice.

  • Maybe it would encourage genrushing. People trying to get the fastest time possible. Not sure it’s what the game needs right now.

  • It looks close to what they promised. Cosmetics always look back in these pics because they’re low quality. They always look better in the gameZ

Not sure if the ears would be better raise, or drooping for stealth. Perhaps that’s a mechanic they could add to future cosmetics. Press a button to raise them when feeling confident and attention seeking or lower them for stealth. Or have them raise automatically when in chase. Damn that’s a killer idea for survivor cosmetics. Ones that light up and glow when chased for those toxic survivors 👌Nea mains would be all over it.

please ifnore spelling. On my phone and all text is blacked out lol

Again wrong wrong wrong. We now call this ClickyClicky instead of wrong.

LF doesn't have a huge cooldown either, they both lose movement speed while charging the chainsaw and they both are "stunned" while hitting an object which is not a survivor.

Do I have to pull out the addons again? Or a billy guide or idk what do you need? Maybe you play the game for a bit actually so you learn what is in it and so on?

LF slows down more than Billy and LMAO at you trying to compare Billys stun to Leatherface’s stun. One has a small cooldown from it the other has a massive tantrum where they swing the chainsaw wildly and the player has very little control over their character in this period.

The fact that you’re trying to play them off as the same shows how disingenuous you’re being.

  • @dastru said:

I've been playing dbd since last year and I've only experienced like 3 crashes so i really doubt that these "I got penalized because the game kicked me" stories are 100% accurate

This attitude really needs to change. It’s disgusting to accuse everyone else of lying when they’re getting penalised through no fault of their own.

The infinite load screen for example is a known issue. Now it doesn’t count towards penalties because they don’t count load screen disconnects anymore but WHY do you think that is? It was because of this bug penalising everyone last time that they had to disable it on load screen.

Crashes are not very frequent (from my experience) right now, however at one point last year they were quite frequent. There’s no telling when an update will come out that breaks the game again.

Server disconnects are not infrequent at all. You see a fair few playing the game or even watching people on stream. Rank update error also seems to be giving people penalties.

So for me the game actually crashing is very infrequent outside of infinite load screen however I can’t say if that’s true for everyone or not but there are definitely issues with the servers. Just ask the xbox players experiencing them for the first time.

  • Probably Hillbilly.

    • Trial starts
    • Hear chainsaw (Sprinting)
    • See obsession claws wiggling
    • Hear Meg scream and go into dying state
    • Hook
    • Hear chainsaw (Sprinting)
    • Unhooked Meg and healing her, hear chainsaw, hear Bill go down
    • Hook
    • Hear chainsaw (sprinting)
    • Running to unhook Bill, hear chainsaw, hear Jake go down
    • Realize we’re not getting any gens done this game.

That’s often how it goes. Before you have chance to fully heal one or even unhook others Hillbilly is already instadowning the next.

If he chases me I can usually do ok but then you get those moments where you vault a window, take 5 steps and as his chainsaw hits the window you see his arms actually stretch through the window and hit you.

    The most balanced killer.

Ghostface is becoming another one though.

    • Trial starts
    • Nothing for 15 seconds, start wondering if killer is afk or if it’s....
    • See the exposed icon appear on another player or two
    • 1-2 survivors instadowned within first 30 seconds of the game

I’m really not a fan of killers that start instadowning right away. I prefer someone like Myers or Oni where they start out normal, survivors get some gen time and then the killers “earn” their instadown ability and start to snowball. It’s more tense. It lulls you into a false sense of security and gives you some time and then the killers get given a chance to apply massive pressure. It feels more fun than ones that just start instadowning off the bat.

  • They just need to be careful with any buffs.

Demo for example is a solid killer. The buff that allowed him to break pallets as basekit really helped him out and still leaves him as feeling fair and fun to face.

Ghostface got buffed and boy does he suck the fun out of the game when you play survivor. Now 99% of these will just activate night shroud and camp hooks. Also fun how pretty much all of then do the anti-heal build.

Are you seriously comparing the weakest killer in the game to a viable killer? I mean, this is trolling right. You aren’t comparing the meme killer to billy as an actual standard of comparison.

they both have chainsaws. Well chocolate and poo are the same color. By your logic we should make chocolate taste like poo. Stop comparing billy to LF. Stop asking for a billy nerf. Stop asking for a killer with a cool down to have another cool down. Stop asking for add on rework. Behavior got billy right, I fear any adjustments they would make for good reasons. Example: nurse.

it would be tragic to lose the most fun killer in the game. He’s fun to play, he’s fun to play against. The studio should not be trusted to adjust billy. There track record is ahhh. Well it’s ahhhh. Well, it’s their track record....

I was replying to a post that was already comparing Billy and LF. Take it up with your pal there, not me.

@Endstille Those add ons are part of the problem.

I was seeing red ranks in yellow. I think they take hours played into account rather than just ranking.

Cos if i face red ranks at rank 14 then i must be a good or i am "due" for a loss. Yeah sure there are reds that suck and we have all seen them but by and large ranking is more or less a true representation of skill.

I’m nowhere near those times lol pretty sure it’s just completely busted at this point.

That or as people say everyone has stopped playing killer. Or its the swf ranking thing.

i'm sure you'd love it if every killer ignored their only advantages and mindlessly chased and roamed while you m1 gens for 4 minutes and get an escape with zero effort

Umm...I’m more likely to mindlessly hold M1 if the killer is tunneling or camping someone else.

If they spread the chases around then I’d be getting chased too and unable to “mindlessly hold M1”

    Think about it.

  • Yeah the matchmaking is trash.

I started doing my killer challenges today. Rank 9 from reset last thursday.

Already seen red rank swfs. Last lobby I had I click on survivors profiles, one with a little under 2000 hours, one with just over 5000 hours, and one just under 3000 hours. Last profile didn’t show game time.

I’m normally red ranks as killer and I’m having to sweat my bad words off to try and get that Gatekeeper challenge. I can only imagine how genuine green ranks feel.

This matchmaking is hands down the worst I’ve ever seen. It can be bad for survivor too but for a long time its always been far worse for killer.

  • Just had my first “swf disconnects so the other can get the hatch” game.

Glad to see this new dc penalty system solved that problem!

Honestly, you've built yourself a reputation here. Every time somebody sees you complain about things that are completely fine, they all say the same thing. "Oh, it's you". Perhaps you should ask yourself why nobody takes you seriously, and remedy that.

You didn't refute what I said. I said in small loops like jungle gyms, where Billy's power can be denied, Leatherface's is more difficult to deny.

Look, I know you can't juke a Hillbilly, but at least try to counter my point. Otherwise, best not try to stick your noise in, boyo.

Go ahead, keep it coming. It will end how it ends every time. You casually disappearing from the conversation when you are put in your place.

I disappear because you just get salty and insulting and refuse to see common sense. No point in carrying on conversations.

Leatherfaces power is easy to loop at jungle gyms. Hes one of the easiest killers in the game to loop period.

Again if he misses - huge cooldown. If he charges - massive movement penalty. Hillbilly has none of that, case closed,

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1109076#Comment_1109076

camping and tunneling is increasingly becoming something you have to do as a killer because of how survivor sided the game is.

That’s what bad players say. You don’t have to do any of that and it’s a really bad tactic against good survivors.

Let me guess you also need NOED right?

  • Oh please. More than anything else survivors hate camping and tunneling. Yet its still in the game for killers to do to their hearts content. Its definitely not all about survivors fun

  • @Frankie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1108985#Comment_1108985

Not really. Leatherface's chase power is actually stronger than Billy's at places like jungle gyms and other loops. His mobility is where he's lacking. It's a lot hard to juke Leatherface's chainsaw than it is Billy's.

    Lol

One has a massive speed penalty and a huge tantrum if he hits something. The other doesn’t.

Billys always get more chainsaw hits than leatherfaces because its an easier power to use.

  • @Ghoste A ruined game is a ruined game. A few bbq tokens don’t change anything imo. I actually want to play the game, not have 4 ez tokens because one gives up and then the rest just surrender. It’s still barely any points.

@meatisadelicacy Yeah the worst survivors can do is wait the full EGC timer. Killers have far more ways to try and bait people into disconnecting and reading anecdotal stories it seems many are trying jt.

  • @Nicholas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1108916#Comment_1108916

How do you know how many? I haven't seen any official stats released.

That's a fair point about the feeling for the rage quitter (some prob are just as satisfied with dying) but it is effectively the same for the other participants. This distinction is immaterial when you're one of the remaining Survivors. Actually at least with a DC, don't you get 600 points? A suicide provides nothing.

Thank you. I’m glad somebody understands it.

If you join a game and somebody gives up on 1st hook its barely better than a dc. As you say at least with dc you get bonus points.

As remaining survivor left you’re left in a tilted game.

Next person gives up on hook too and then all you can do is seek out the killer and hope they take pity and hook you but on the EU survivors even though its only 2 survivors vs 1 they will often still slug for the 4k. So then you have to be punished by waiting in the game at least another 4 minutes before you’re allowed to join a 6 minute queue to get a survivor game.

Its the same when you play killer. At least when 2 disconnected the rest would disconnect saving you time. Now the last 2 dont so you need to either let them farm or just get it over with, chase them and hook them.

Its a miserable experience all around for those left in the game.

  • Last game I had a Doctor who just hard tunneled one survivor out of the game and ignored everyone else. Then he started tunneling me. Looped him so other 2 survivors could get last gen done. I get unhooked and these 2 clowns are just looking for the hatch for their stupid challenge. So 1 DS and 2 more hooks later I die because 2 useless survivors cant open a single exit gate.

These challenges are garbage. And the devs wonder why their community is so salty

I would rather have a faster game with someone who might DC than have less people playing or survivors who are just going to suicide on the first hook. I've lost tons of BP from killers DCing too, and I didn't care. It made me laugh. I can still have fun in a game even if I'm less likely to win when a teammate DCs. And I did DC on occasion. Like the last three games a teammate DC'ed right off the bat? One was pissed because they were downed, the other two just left the game without even starting to play. And you know what the killer did? They slugged at five gens when we were down a person. So yeah, I'd DC from that crap just so I could get into a game and actually play. Imagine playing a game and wanting to play.

Yeah killers cry that nobody cares about their fun but when given the chance they slug after disconnects and they hard tunnel. They dont care about anyone else, why should anyone care about their fun?

You can not change their perspective. They think so simply. The point is that nothing has changed with the penalty system so... Unneccessary and not a better system in my opinion. No need to do it. It does not make sense after they DC or kill themselves on the first hook. The result is same. You get extra few BPs that is it. They have to look at the background of the issue. Why people DC? Not always just because of they are downed immediately.

Yeah that’s basically what I’m saying. Whether they dc or hook suicide or go afk the end result is the same - a crappy game for those who are left. Getting those few extra points means very little.

1 … 37 38 39 40 41 … 63
