The post was not about needed nerfs, but calls to nerfing that are ridiculous.
just to clarify.
Billy was the worst nerf decision they ever made. Billy was fun, he was fun to play against. Everyone loved to play as or against billy. It was a bunch of whiners complaining that they couldn't do an unsafe gen and stealth away from it without getting chainsawed. Uh yeah, what did you think was going to happen?
-
Pinhead
Deathslinger
Blight
Twins
Trickster
Spirit
Freddy
Hag
All of them are not fun to face. They are very unfun to face. I don't know why Behavior has a habit of figuring out how to make a killer that is unpleasant to play against but they are getting better at it with every chapter.
-
The 3 games I played today were a hook stalk / camp Ghostface. Basement Bubba. And a Hard Tunneling Freddy (also know as a regular Freddy).
So I guess I'm taking a break for awhile.

"Toxic Gameplay", what about camping, tunneling and slugging?
This concepts do exist and are actually allowed and not punishable, BUT, it's a matter of respect in terms of gaming, you can either play "correctly" caring for other people's experience, or just be a dick about it.
Killers camping, slugging or tunneling are as much of a dick move players as survivors clicky clicking, gen rushing or teabagging the killer.
If you need to explain reasons that allow you to be a dick to others in order to "better" achieve your objectives as either killer or survivor, you do not need them, be my guest, you can do it regardless of people complaining about this behaviour.
Just please don't be one of those people who play without caring about other player's experience and then complain when someone does that to you. THIS IS JUST A GAME, AND IT'S NOT FOR EVERYONE.
I just DC if the killer is playing scummy. The match was already ruined I can come back and play another day. The killer doesn’t need my points.

His power is not necessarily overpowered by any means because he has no map pressure, which is where he needs buffed, but his chase interaction is so insufferable. This was said a lot when he came out and people still don't enjoy playing against him because there isn't much counterplay to his power in open maps and at small loops. It's similar if not worse to how pyramid heads power was when he came out but that was changed whereas deathslinger remains untouched. I hope the devs are aware of how frustrating his power feels to play against.
I agree plz rework Deathslinger. With Behaviors track record of reworks, reworks = players don't choose the killer. I don't enjoy playing against deathslinger, I don't know anyone who does enjoy playing against deathslinger. I'd like to see him not make it into lobbies anymore.
Also can you please unrework hillbilly.

Like can you provide any information ??? There’s some server issues that creep up sometime on my end but other than that FPS wise this update is the best one they ever released for me, I don’t get 60 FPS on midwife anymore it’s nothing but 130, so have you try check for corrupt file or anything else ?
I checked file integrity right before I stopped playing a month ago. No reason why I couldn't do it again. The issue the I experience the most is lag. And by lag I mean the good old school kind of lag where I actually return my character to a position he was in like 1 second ago. I popped T3 with Daddy Myers and downed a jake, then lagged back 1 sec and a couple steps and jake was no longer down but instead made it to a window vault. (but was somehow injured instead of healthy?)
I experience this way more in chase or when other survivors are near me. I don't know if that really matters or not. Definitely isn't a connection issue I live in a major city in Texas so I can't be very far from a server. I don't think my computer is underpowered for the game.
I am at a lost for what went wrong but I do know that I now view DBD like Microsoft. I cringe and wonder what we're going to lose with every update and operating system.
-
I don’t agree that the purpose of the game is to grind bloodpoints for items and offerings. I fully understand grinding for perks but it’s still not the reason why we play DBD.
Franklins isn’t particularly strong and the idea that survivors can complain about killer perks is pretty entitled. In general every killer perk in counterable through hex or strategy.
I agree with you that some killer add ons are ridiculously OP such as Iridescent King / Iri Queen, and Iri Head. They genuinely make the match miserable. You can always DC when they bring those add ons.
killers usually feel bad when survivors DC whereas survivors usually gloat. I would say in general killers are more community minded than survivors are.

Can some of you list your hrs and devotion level?
I'm hoping to use an average to figure my hours out by my devotion level.
I don't care if you're new or have thousands of hours, all data will help.
Thanks in advance.
Mid Rank - Devotion 4 1250 hours.

I don't really know where to post this but I think its unfair for people to be banned because of the game kicking them out... its quite unnerving..
Personally I preferred the game without the DC ban. Yeah some games got ruined by DCs but the same thing is accomplished now regardless of whether you DC or not. I also have gotten several short bans for not loading into the game, which is a little irritating.

All kidding aside, there is something about Pyramid Head that causes my controls to cut out and go bonkers. Could he also cause somebody to disconnect? It’s a possibility, but I wouldn’t count on it. But I could see somebody getting angry enough at the game for controls that keep cutting out whenever in close proximity to the killer.
I tend to drop frames when I'm chasing survivors on a loop and in bloodlust and most likely going to get a hit. I don't have an amazing laptop just a mid grade gaming laptop from 2017. I don't think I need an 1500 dollar machine to play a 40 dollar game. It is annoying to get cheated out of hits because its game changing to miss a down in bloodlust. Same issue happens occassionally when I'm following a survivor 360. Recently I've had problems with console survivors just teleporting into think freaking air. I generally stop and run a speed test and I'm usually 30ms ping or better with 20MBps or better.

Almo forgive this pleb for being mad at a perk that can be countered without camping
DS is not an ant-tunnel perk. Per the Devs. Just like face camping is not bannable. also, per the devs.
-
Im currently reinstalling the game. Which is becoming an update tradition.
-
I get proxy camped maybe 1/8 games. usually get tunneled off hook when that happens. I cant recall being hard camped that wasn’t after the gates were powered. When the gates are powered I think a lot of players expect the killer to leave them when the smart play is to stay nearby.
-
At least you guys can play. I have crashed 9 out of 10 games. I found a thread in technical reference my crashes and my laptop is just not capable of handling the graphics. For reference I have a 3 year old Dell gaming laptop that cost 900 dollars. Its not cutting edge but it can run reasonable games.
-
It would make more sense to introduce a dead by daylight 2 for core Game design changes.

Im takign a break from dbd at the moment and just wanna ask if the game is still a buggy mess or if they fixed the most of it.
So please tell me the biggest bugs that are going around at the moment.
Is this game playable? Are there still massive frame drops?
I DONT want to get answers like DS is still OP or Freddy is still a free win. Nothing about balance please, i just want to know the major bugs ^^
I get a complete crash roughly 30 seconds into a match in the last 7 or 8 consecutive games. I haven't been able to play a match since the blight chapter was released. The first crash I experienced was on the blight PTB and then when I reconfigured for regular play I've had a complete crash ever single game. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled the game and no change.
-
I agree that DH stacks are a fun and rewarding mori. Ebony moris are for douchers.
-
In general playing Freddy is disgusting.
-
If I think there isn’t enough time to heal under hook, I’ll drop my Medkit before I unhook and run away. It’s a survivor team so the items need to benefit the team to escape the killer. It’s not a big deal to lose an item
-
about a year ago there lots of posts claiming that devs were survivor sided mostly because of OP loops and lots of super safe pallets. I would say that was a fair criticism last year and now the balance between both roles is more fair. Sketchy solo q survivors probably aren’t getting out. A SWF that gen rushes and is competent at looping is probably getting out. Devs can’t really balance around great differences in skill level.
-
I'll leave you salt if you play Spirit or Freddy or you are a first hook mori kind of player. They are gross, people that play them are gross. When I play killer I will just reciprocate.

No, it isint.
Map vote, simple as that. In campfire screen two maps from different pools (Realms) - for example: 1 map from Autohaven Wreckers pool and 1 map from Gideon Meat Plant pool. ;-)
Every survivor have 1 vote, Killer have 2 votes. If tie, game will choose map randomly from different pool.
If new map was added, one of choices always will be new map.
I like your suggestion alot. I wonder how they would handle offerings and bloodwebs.
-
I felt like my survivor MMR was dialed in. I played in matches with skilled teammates and a skilled killer. Granted I’ve played 70 hours since it came out. My killer was still developing but I would say I was 3-4 weeks away from a good pairing. I think people needed to be a little more patient. As a side note I joined a friend whose MMR wasn’t at a set point yet and it was pretty similar to my early MMR.
-
@Fnatic47 said:
Wait for hackers start steal accounts and screw the matches and then we will see xD
I've been playing for 1000 hours and I haven't seen a hacker yet. Or they are hacking in a way that is not noticeable. I do know that PC is a tremendous advantage over console and I would not play crossplay from a console. I play PC and disabled crossplay because the advantage felt like cheating.
-
I disabled crossplay as well. I was playing killer against a platform and easily 4k'd their team with trapper. It felt bad to beat them so mercilessly. I play on PC feel that the difference between the 2 kinda makes crossplay an unfair advantage.
-

to all you PC players, doesn’t it get boring going against Nurses, Spirits, and huntresses constantly? Ever since cross-play that’s all I’ve been going against. Oh and yeah they’re sweaty... like coming out of a steam room sweaty.
Its hard to beleive your post when you say there are a bunch of sweaty nurses on PC. Nurses are very rare, and they rarely win. I have not played against a highly skilled nurse since the rework. I have only died to nurses post-rework by NOED. Nurse is not A-Tier. Nurse does not have the capability to be A-Tier. Nurse is nowhere near the strongest killer. People supposing this is a possibility need to stop. Her base power, dedicated servers, terrible add ons, map designs relegate her to the worst killer in the game. Statistically she performs the worse. Anecdotally she performs the worst. Nurse is hot garbage. Anyone that was God Tier with her before is smart enough not to play seriously with her anymore. There is no god-tier Nurse post nerf. There is no unicorn.
-
I always experience custom match lag. 2 plays, both in same household. Big city internet, usually ISP ping is under 30ms and +15MBPS down. Occasionally my speeds will be slower than that but not very often as I pay for 200 MBPS down. I live about 250 miles from the server.
-
@ABannedCat said:
I think Huntress. She will get her addons turned into memes, and a cooldown slapped on her hatchets.
I hope you are wrong. Man I hope you are wrong. But, why wouldn't they ruin another good killer.

@Mozzie said:
have you tested disabling cross play to see if it helps or hurts more?
i turned crossplay off and stopped searching for a match about 20 minutes. Is civilizations any good?
-
I've noticed que times are always a lot longer on rank reset. I usually just do something else for a few days.
-
I personally would start with billy. Gets around the maps easily and is strong but balanced. I personally would run tracking and chase perks. I wouldn’t bother with slowdown perks until you can find survivors and win chases. Enduring, bitter murder, bbq and chili, and discordance would be a good build.
-
I believe your sarcasm meter needs calibrating.
-
I’ve been having an issue where I am struggling and the dedicated server just doesn’t accept the input. So I die with a lot of time left and I intended to stay in the game. I check my connection speed every time this happens and I haven’t had a ping over 30 or less than 15 MBPS down so I feel like my connection isn’t contributing to the problem.

@Tricks said:
Current DS is the same as pre nerf MoM in that they are both second chance crutch perks that reward failure. By that reasoning as MoM was nerfed into extinction so too should DS be.
Both are also obtained through either purchase of premium characters (pay 2 win) or waiting however many months it takes for them to appear in the Shrine of Secrets for purchase via Iridescent Shard currency earned in game.
So aside from that small window of opportunity the plain and simple fact is that DS is pay 2 win and needs to be nerfed in line with other OP pay 2 win perks such as MoM
This will never happen though because of profit. Though I don't understand why MoM p2w aspect was nerfed when the DS crutch runs free reign as again they are essentially the same failure rewarding perks.
It’s an asymmetric game. A killer is faster and will eventually down you. DS helps an individual survivor versus a killer that focuses solely on them. Also it’s more frequently the survivor teams fault that a survivor needs DS than the killers fault. If you are a solo q player, you can get shafted by potatoes or SWFs. There’s nothing wrong with a player using the perk. There are issues with DS abuse. That is a separate issue from this thread

Funny thing is that I don't need to. I just need teammates who will do ONE or two set of bones.
I'm already doing them when I see them. Not much more I can do! And I have also tried Small Game for an Archives mission. Not a fan.
So you want the perk nerfed because you don’t like the performance of your survivor teams? How about no.

Just daring people to come up with original arguments.
This poster will argue for killer nerf and killer perk nerf over and over again. (s)he only grows emboldened by the actual nerfs. My guess is this player is immerse and sucks at looping which is why (s)he is constantly calling for nerfs since they lack the skill to just play the game.

So, because you wanna grab that free heal killer should suffer from swf abusing second chance perks ? If fair isn't a factor, why are you complaining about noed ? Man you are full of contradiction and bias for yourself.
This guy has always been like that. He used to argue that: Billy shouldn’t be able to chainsaw to my gen, find me crouching behind a rock and down me before I get out of the dead zone. Now billy sucks.

It's not the killer's fault, but what is would be the advice of "just do bones" that litters the forums. This is because I am the one doing the bones and getting punished because my team can't carry their own weight, their advice is not at all helpful and I just need to hear anything other than "just do bones" or "equip a perk that doesn't help deal with bigger issues" from killers.
Oh great, the nerf billy guy is whining again. What’s after NOED? Killer basic attacks?

Content creators have done an excellent job of being entertaining and informative. Their content is free. An essential part of the DBD experience is the aftermarket content. You can eventually learn everything but your experience will not be as good. Imagine not knowing what a cutie is. Imagine never watching severe bullying of a twitch streamer 3.1. You wouldn’t even get the post game comment unluckerdog. You wouldn’t be doing a pretty good job so far.

Apparently every perk that survivors use to their advantage is “abuse”.
How is using endurance gained from BT to body block abuse? It’s just logical, especially if I’m running DS or it’s endgame.
Bodyblocking with BT is offensive. BT was meant to be anti camping. After 100 hours of gameplay if you unhook intending for a BT proc you are doing so to be toxic and abusing the perk. That’s pretty obvious.

Exactly, she really isn't busted like people make her out to be... and at least she has COUNTERPLAY (unlike Nurse)... not to mention that Spine Chill and Iron Will are great counters to Spirit.
I think if more people played against good Nurses, there would be far more complaints against her than Spirit. I myself am a red rank Nurse main, and I know how helpless one feels when playing against a good Nurse.
i originally thought your post was like a year old. I haven't been killed by a nurse that wasn't running NOED in a very, very long time. Nurse was absolutely wrecked. They haven't made a map since I started playing that isn't very difficult for her to chase survivors.
I have seen players who are good at nurse still get 0ks. Nurse got destroyed in her rework and by dedicated servers. She is in such a bad state that I roll her dailys. Everytime I've tried to go back in a play as her I've regretted it. Its so difficult to play as nurse, its so unfun to play as nurse, I expect NOED on every nurse player, she still has her own tier, but she went from the strongest killer to the weakest killer in the game. I don't know what your post is trying to say about her because its not true. Its not true statistically, its not true anecdoteally. I have not met this mythical god like nurse main that 4ks. And that's in about 800 hours of gameplay since her rework. Not 1 godlike nurse. its not true, there is no unicorn.

@korean_zombie consider reading what I said about why hook rushing with BT is not an issue.
@Rullisi if you think that vaulting a window should give you 3 miles of distance for free, then I do not know what to say.
i read what you wrote about it and I get your point but I don't think it should be a game mechanic unless you were to give the killer role a base perk of equal strength, say T3 whispers. Which in both cases is unneccessary. You have 4 slots, if you want that perk equip it. But don't give survivors a free META perk buff.
-
@Dpooly said:
@slunder You really complaining about Lithe? It gives you the least amount of boost out of all exhaustion perks but DH and Head On because the boost starts as soon as you hit the vault button, hindering you for .5 seconds. That may not sound like much, but it really is against most Killers. You also have to get to a window/pallet to even use it.
and that vault must not have a drop further taking benefit away from it. and that vault shouldn't have a wall opposite of the vault further taking distance away from the exhaustion perk. And you use it sub optimally often like if you vault shack and you can sprint into a dead zone or wait for the killers next move. I use lithe as an exhaustion perk but it definitely has downsides.
-
@slunder said:
I noticed quite a lot of complaints about survivor perks in dbd, so I will give my opinion on them. The perks that are hated are, for the most part, exhaustion perks in general, adrenaline, decisive strike and borrowed time.
Exhaustion perks: yes, they are broken. They basically give you a free get out of trouble card when you should have been downed. They basically gain free distance that require 0 skill to use and can change the outcome of a game without any risk. Dead hard, for example, can be used for distance, and before you say "it is rare that it is used for distance and it does not give much", I get to use it that way every 2-3 games (assuming I have it on, which is rare due to me not wanting to use crutch perks).
Adrenaline: Well, the fact is: this perk is not a crutch. First of all, it requires to be alive when it activates, then you have to need it when it activates (because you might not be in a chase, in which case it is not game breaking) and finally, the killer often runs NOED.
Decisive strike: this perk is half good, half bad. Tunnelers deserve to get hit by it, but survivors often use it to be aggressive, which is just a free get out of jail card. Rework it so that the timer stops when the survivor is in a chase or in the dying state, so that the killer cannot tunnel and then slug, but get the timer to be only 15 seconds long, no time to be aggressive.
Borrowed time: well no, this perk is not dumb, if the survivor hooks rush you get into a chase immediately instead of needing to find another one, so the perk making survivors rush each other is fine. Most of the time, it is not used to rush, but to fight tunnelers, which is a good thing. I even think this perk should be base kit.
What are your thoughts?
Borrowed Time is frequently used offensively. Making it base kit would lead to serious abuse.
-
Discordance
Monitor and Abuse
STBFL
would be my choices in that order.
-
@vector said:
you dont even understand how decisive strike is used in the game
1) A surv is unhooked, then he agressivly runs to unhook teammate and simply jumps in to a locker. (most killers do not tunnel , so checkmate).
2) A surv is unhooked, then he runs to repair a critical gen that at 90% of progress if you come closer he simply jumps in to a locker You have a choice between wating about 20-50 seconds or losing a gen. Even if there was no locker and you put him in to a dying state he can simply crawl away.
3) A surv is unhooked, then he start repairing a nearest gen without trying to hide/leave a place he was hooked . 80 sec takes repairing of one gen, DS has duaration of 60 sec. Most likely there are 2 survs on the gen.
4) A surv is unhooked, he gets heal, he starts playing agressive and risky , he baits you, bodyblock you, he helps his teammates in recovery from dying state etc, you hit him once and he goes in to a locker or he lures you away in to an empty corner. You cant pick him up and you wasted time chasing him.
let DS be canceled after jumping it to a locker, repairing gen, unhooking a surv and run it as much as you want you can even make it 30 sec longer.
Play trapper, trap locker.

I'm still baffled they don't use Devotion level (overall player level) to match players... It's the exact same as colored ranks (the more you play the higher your level) but it takes so long to get them, you should be at a reasonable level of understanding whether playing killer or survivor. A D5 (Devotion 5) should not be going against a D0... One of those players has more time and understanding of the game.
Devotion levels that should match together:
- D0-D2 (beginner)
- D3-D6 (novice)
- D7-D10 (intermediate)
- D11+ (expert)
It is an ez way to triage experience levels. I think it’s a darn good suggestion on your part.
