Why don't you just run Agitation.

Also what do people mean by 'dead zones'?

Because there's only 4 slots, and i prefer that no Perk is required to counter mechanic flaws.
You read the discussion, you know what deadzone means.

I don't. The zone where Nurse can't blink comes to mind. Also you got a point with the flaw in the mechanic.

My apologies then, i assumed you knew since you recommended Agitation.

My deadzone term refers to where a part of the map doesn't have hooks nearby (anymore) to hook a Survivor who's dying over there.

While certain maps currently certainly have either a lot of hooks or weird zones where there's 2 next to eachother, with the video and explanation they showed, i fear such zones will be much easier to create.

And while the Killer creating those zones by themself isn't such a big deal, my fear is that it'll be abused by Survivors greatly, which wouldn't be new.
Not to mention the boring-as-hell bleedout wait times, because both sides can't do anything anymore.

For example, you've sacrificed one in the corner of the map and another on the closest one after that, because all other hooks are too far away.
Now those hooks are gone and becomes a deadzone.
Strategic play won't come into play when Survivors start learning to check hook placements and learn of potential deadzones on each map.
Y'know: "Ahh, the Killer sacrificed over there. If others go over there too, it'll be a deadzone in no time."
Or the one being chased: "I got no more tricks, might as well run over here and create a deadzone for my friends."
While this was a strategy before, mmany if not all never did it cause it would cost too many sacrifices and usually resulted in enough hooks being nearby anyway.
But this fair distribution coming up seems, to me, that it'll encourage B-lining it to edges and/or corners of the map and take over that part of the map after a sacrifice.

Running Agitation, IF this is the case (I really hope not), to counter a deadzone, would fix a flaw, not a challenge.

It should, in theory, reduce dead zones and more evenly distribute hooks. It'll ensure a minimum distance between the hooks and only break that rule when there are no valid positions and the minimum hook requirement has not been met (in which case two may spawn close together). That'll also mean that the hooks won't spawn on one side of the map, leaving the other side with only one or two hooks.

It is actually on the PTB right now, so you can try it for yourself if you like.

That sounds great up until the point that you've sacrificed 2 people on 1 side of the map because they would otherwise be unhookable.

From what you said, i see that it'll reduce deadzones on creation, but with the usage on 1 or 2 hooks could still easily break some maps then.

This may not be the popular opinion, but I'm okay with that. I'm always careful when I hook people and make sure that I'm not creating a deadzone for myself if they were to be sacrificed there. You should still be able to get to a slightly further away hook to prevent that from happening. I like the little things like that. Playing killer is pretty straightforward, but there's little things you can strategize around to do better. Managing hooks should be one of those skills, and I feel like carelessly using hooks should be punishing the same way leaving the last three hooks on the same side of the map should be punishing for the survivors.

I'm fine with strategies to make hooking an easier thing to do. (Although it does mean Survivors have a some form of a huge safe zone at that rate, which i recall wasn't a desirable thing to have.)
I'm not fine with, if you fail, those zones being abused to (literal) death from bleeding out.

i mean you have huntress addon insta down, same as the clown, etc but im saying that legion needs a full rework since hes broken with frank mixtape

I guess matches like these woke the devs up, cause that change quickly got cancelled.

  • Don't feel the same at all, Devour Hope is worth it all day for me on all tiers.

Well if you watch some of the hgn end streamers they're pretty strategic with their hookings so that they don't create dead zones on the map.

Cause right now it's actually very hard to create deadzones.

Yeah but by not as much :( I mean I used to use leader n prove thyself to get Max Gen speed (with resilience) but now that combo is kinda out the window with decreased output.

Just find 1 other Survivor to repair with and you already should have a significant boost without current Leader & Resilience.
Plus you can still run Resilience too.

Anything to give the meta more variety is good to me.

    wat

Self care is the number one perk in the game anyways. Just free up the perk slot and allow more build diversity by making it baseline for Survivors, but debuff their action speeds if they don't heal up.

Whether Survivors heal themselves to get rid of the debuff or choose to stay injured and work on generators, games will last longer either way so killers gets a nice buff.

That Perk being #1 doesn't mean we should bore Survivors more.
In fact, it'll just incentivize the use of Self Care more, the point is to bring it down and/or bring others up.

no I get told out of know were, but I don't get to dick-ly with them, instead mid match I f**k with them, alot, they know that its karma from me, its like a loop, I just can choose to between dealing with it, or simply seeing with the devs about hiding it from the game files until the update actually drops (unless if it is the update it drops has the event)

I mean, it's not like the devs would prepare a show on stage to reveal the costumes.

Do you get stunned as Wraith by them while cloaked? That seems BS and OP to me. All they have to do is drop one near you while cloaked and you can't avoid them.

You can look up when you see the throwing animation. It doesn't blind until after you see them throw it down.

    Does it lightburn the Wraith?

Yes. If you don't look away in time.

Lightburn isn't about looking away. The survivor just needs to aim a flashlight at Wraiths body, not his eyes. That's why its hard to dodge firecrackers as him.

    Gotcha, thanks you two.

    "Balance Time"

That's pretty much my train of thought.

  • Any map that still allows Totems to spawn in LoS with spawning Survivors, in LoS with Generators, in plain sight & on top of hills.

  • It's useful if you like to prevent hatch in general.
It's also useful if you sacrificed on hooks in one zone and the 4th goes down there.
I agree this Offering does pretty little, but not useless.

I've seen some suggestions before that it should be baseline.
Idk about that, but it would go perfectly with the devs' train of thought of: Ending a game that's pretty much over already more quickly.

Yeah, unpopular opinion: I don't like how he plays, staring at people isn't my thing.
Just like how i don't like Nurse cause of HUEEE HAHHHH HEYAHOYOOOOO!

    So i place Mori.

I still find it a little odd how some perks stay rare forever, as if they're just not as good as others.

But we all just want the pink colour tho, they could easy just change all colours to pink and the whole community would be satisfied

Maybe they can make it so you can apply your own background colors for Perks with some RGB settings.

    To play devil's advocate:

    1. If you have to manually place your totems, that means that Hex: Ruin wouldn't be active at the start of the round. All four survivors are naturally going to go straight to the first generator they see (they have no reason not to). Meanwhile, you'll be left running around trying to find a good spot for you totem. Before you can even put it down, generators are going to be popping off left and right.
    2. You could cheese it by putting your totems in narrow spaces or dead end areas and blocking it in with other totems or traps (if you're playing a trapping killer). I could put devour hope behind TOTH, behind Ruin, and then behind Haunted Ground. In order for someone to cleanse my devour hope, they would have to cleanse totems for a total of 85.5 seconds- longer than solo generator- and every time they touch all but the last totem, I receive a notification telling me exactly where they are. You can imagine how that might cause problems when I'm instantly downing them with devour hope.
    3. I could also just play hag and stick my totems in the basement with traps leading all the way out. If someone wants to cleanse them, they'd have to crouch all the way down the stairs. Good luck if you didn't bring Urban Evasion. Combine with TOTH and they've got no chance.
    4. If you do not pick the totem position but instead only get your choice of which pre-positioned dull totem to light, you are still at the mercy of RNG. If you've got two or three hill tiles, each with a totem, one outside the shack and one next to a generator, your totems are still going to stick out like a sore thumb no matter where you choose to place them. I've seen that exact scenario a couple times. In that case, you end up with the same problem except you lose a bunch of time lighting totems.

I feel like totem spawning just needs a good lookin' at. There needs to be far more so they're less predictable and harder to memorize the potential spawns, and there needs to be additional rules so they don't appear in obvious locations (cannot spawn in LOS of a generator that is less that X meters away, for example). If the killer has to place them manually, they lose a ton of time which offsets the benefit of the perk.

They also shouldn't spawn near Survivor spawns.

I would agree, but I feel like that would be a little too predictable. If I knew it wouldn't spawn within X meters of me or any other survivor, that would eliminate a large portion of the map as valid spawn positions and I would have way less area to check. I'd be okay with it spawning ten meters away from someone so long as it's well hidden behind an object and they wouldn't see it on their way to a nearby generator.

    That's kinda what i meant.
Well-hidden would be my priority as well, i'm just sick of actually having to rush over to them immediately, or they'll TRULY be gone in 20 seconds sometimes.
It's lucky that i main Wraith a lot lately...
