The Entity's Servants (The Crows)

Introduction

You remember these crows that almost serve no purpose besides being able to locate survivors sometimes? How about we add some spice to these crows to make them just a little more concerning when you disturb them!

Spies From The Shadows:

(The old version)

The old version of the perk should be built into the killer's main kit and have a 100% chance to alert the killer within a certain range from the disturbed crow!

Spies From The Shadows

(The new version)

The new perk will be changed to show the auras of survivors who disturb a crow for 3/4/5 seconds and will cause a crow to circle above the survivors head for 10/15/20 seconds.

Crow Mechanics

Crows will no longer be disturbed by the killer and crows will always look in the direction of a survivor.

Overall, these changes will add more value to a dead mechanic in a game. Yes, my ideas can be OP but the numbers can be changed if so. Please tell me your opinion about these forgotten servants!

This is the only change STFS would need actually. Not everything needs auras and some killers do better with non-aura tracking perks. I think the problem with the perk is that it's just... not a very good tracking perk. It's both vague and unreliable, and can interfere with a chase an such. The only other change it needs is the way it presents information. The "location reveal" notification, like on Rancor, I think would be more valuable here. That with these two changes you suggest would make the perk actually useful.

As far as the crows themselves, the current SFTS notification should be a map-wide baseline ability BUT ONLY triggered after X seconds not finding a survivor or in a chase (something like 30? 60? long enough that it can't be abused). It would help with those end game hostage situations where a killer without Whispers can't find the last guy. It could also help bad killers too a bit by throwing them a bone against p3 Squadettes with purple fog on Coldwind. Think of it like bloodlust but for immersion.

  • Regarding the notification:
Crows are already beautiful as they are. They are a small details that killers can pay attention to. The free notification would ruin that.

    Regarding the perk:
Very weak early game and very crippling/annoying late game. During the early game, it will be dead obvious when the killer has vision over you (The crow circling above you) thus you start running away before the killer is even close or you just start looping.
I keep this one on my list of still needing a proper rework.

    Regarding:

Crows will no longer be disturbed by the killer.

This part is excellent. Currently you aren't sure if a flying or returning crow has been caused by you, but making it exclusively so that the killer can know that crow movement MUST be caused by a recent survivor will help killers with an eye for detail greatly printing exactly that idea into their mind. This is something I can get behind.

I would discard the perk idea, keep the killers-cannot-trigger-crows mechanic and make a new crow animation of a crow attacking a survivor from the sky and flying away.
With the animation thingy being triggered when a killer hasn't chased a survivor for over 60 seconds (+ 30 seconds per dead survivor) on a random survivor. (As a way to help killers against survivors keeping the game hostage and making hide-and-seek games more interesting for the killers knowing they will get clues every now and then).

And with that, crows should be solid. (except for the perk)

  • Always thought it would be cool if they gave you a reason to be careful. Like disturbing several crows to quickly would call a murder to descend and circle the survivor causing minor obscurity to vision for a short time or until vaulting a window to shake them. Wouldn't even need to signal the killer, just provide an environmental interaction and effect for survivors.
  • Ha. You’d have another crow cicrcling above you by the time the one you already have takes off.

Yes, this can happen if you're always running into crows. Hopefully, this won't be a problem with you! :)

Then you might wanna run Calm Spirit.
