  • What? No.
What should've been done is an objective that's not this.

  • Crashes are a thing, though i myself rarely crash, so to me the chances seem small.
Still, it could've happened, and it's not right to fully exclude the possibility.
0.001% is way too small, this game isn't stable enough to reach that number.

  • When optimally used, yes.

I do know stuff like @Nickenzie 's threads gets washed up in a sea of complaints, when the stuff he has proposed would be amazing for the general QOL of the game.

I can't take all the credit, some of my ideas have been inspired by @weirdkid5 because I REAL feel like his suggestion will work to be honest!

    SWF Changes:

Basically, we need two party queues for the solos and SWF. SWF cannot join solos queues and vice versa to keep things simple. Solos will have an easier time reaching their pip zone while SWF will have to do a little more to reach theirs because they are expected to do better with voice communication. The killer will be rewarded with more BP whenever they are going against a SWF to compensate for the potentially increased difficulty.

Done and queues will remain the same as normal because we aren't directly splitting the player base in half.

@Nickenzie What would prevent survivors from re-queing into the solo que over and over again until they got into a room with their friends like they did prior to the introduction of the SWF option?

When the game detects frequent lobby dodges with the ping in the yellow or green, it will start punishing them for continuously doing so.

Yea but you're totally fine with the killers that dodge for items or being Claudette right?

    Wrong.
Don't assume out of the blue.

I can't see what the Killer did before the hooking, but i this is all i can go on, i can say i'm way better at being an evil Killer.
Very rarely do i get the hatch near the downed Survivor, but when i do, i keep them on my shoulder for 10-12 seconds, letting them wiggle, giving them hope, then i hook them.

Hey, i was instructed by the Entity to let i feed on their hope.
What more hope can i create in that situation than making it look like i'll let them live?

I just know how hard survivors have it so when I do play killer I remember and feel bad. I therefore try hold back as much as possible by:

    • Not going after people I've already hit / hooked in favor of others I haven't
    • Keeping track of how many times I've hooked someone / how much "hook health" they have left so as to not take them out of the game.
    • Leaving hooked survivors so they can be rescued and chased again unless I find another survivor that hasn't been hooked / hit in which case I go after them letting the other go.

I seem to get more enjoyment from the chase than the actual kill which just makes me feel bad.

There are so many ways to make the game enjoyable for everyone, I don't know I like that feel good feeling you get from making it a good game rather than a bitter miserable ordeal.

    I actually always do point #1 & #3.
Not consciously, i've simply molded my tactic to what i find most enjoyable.
I don't keep track of the amount of hooks for instance, it has no influence on my enjoyment, which is what my brain cares about.

  • ANY good? Yes, it's better than having nothing.
But it's about Monstrous Shrine kind-of bad to me.

killers should be able to  place their own totems, like traps! There’s no reason this shouldn’t be implemented as a standard part of game play

I think the devs are kind of afraid that the killers will find places that will not allow survivors to break the totems.

But I agree, it should be implemented somehow.

While that's certainly a problem, it'd remove pressure from devs to try and find places that satisfy Hex users and let us find our own places instead. (I already have a pretty cheeky spot in mind for Disturbed Ward.)

Besides, we'd be QA testers: We'd find spots, and then either we report them or we get reported by Survivors and they'll fix it.

They can put boundary detectors on placements too, like how Bear Traps have them, so we can't squeeze them between two objects and making it impossible to cleanse.

Think we can get notQueen to tell the others about this idea?

I've been around for a while.
I'm VERY certain they know about placing Totems for a while now.

If there was a flamethrower killer how would you balance the flamethrower?

The Killer will have normal walk speed, normal terror radius size & normal height.

Survivors will have a healthbar in addition to health states.
This bar is hidden until you get damaged.
When you are completely healed, it disappears again.

While holding the Power button, you'll start scorching, rendering the main weapon unavailable until you stop.
You can aim anywhere, but can't burn anything but Survivors. (Darn the Entity and its meddling, huh?)
The flamethrower has the meddlesome ability to burn Items that aren't being carried by Survivors when scorched for 3 seconds.
The flamethrower can also regress Generator repair progress by scorching them, though the benefit is 1 second regressed for every second scorched.
Yes, Borrowed Time is useless against this Killer, as the flames multi-hit.
But maybe we'll have to update it so Borrowed Time resists fire for like 3 consecutive seconds, idk.

When burned by the flamethrower for 5 seconds in total, their HUD icon changes to Injured, indicating that they've entered the Injured health state.
When burned by the flamethrower for 10 seconds in total, their HUD icon changes to Dying, indicating that they've entered the Dying health state.
The amount it takes to burn Survivors can be changed with Add-ons.

The flamethrower has a range of 10 meters, but it takes about a second to reach that distance.
The flames have a cone of 10 degrees when at 0 meters and a cone of 50 degrees when at 10 meters, with all the inbetween ranges aligned perfectly. (Like 5 meters having 30 degrees.)
The range & cone can be changed with Add-ons.

Just an in-between: Naturally, the Killer is immune to their own fire, which would aesthetically be correct by giving him/her cosmetics which would all be immune to fire, or fire-resistant to some degree.
Oh, another in-between: Their main weapon is a fireaxe. (Idc if Huntress already has an axe.
Clown, Shape & Legion have knifes & Hillbilly & Cannibal have hammers.)

Survivors don't lose blood against this Power, as all wounds are burns.
When hitting a burned Survivor with your main weapon, they'll start losing blood again.
Burning a bleeding Survivor will stop their bleeding.

Fuel won't be a standard downside to their Power, but Add-ons may introduce it, idk.

The Mori would be to burn Survivors in the face point-blank while standing on their stomach with one foot.

    @Yamaoka said:
Would an instadown be too much when getting hit by the flames?

    Yes

    @Yamaoka said:
Would it be "balanced" if the killer had to "charge" his flamethrower before using it reducing his movement speed to like 60% for instance (to make up for the area that gets covered by the flames)?

    We have different ideas.

    @Yamaoka said:
Or should getting hit by the fire cause the survivor to "burn" (status effect)?

    Yes.

    @Yamaoka said:
If so, how should this status effect work?

    The "Burn" Status Effect.
As soon as a Survivor touches flames from the flamethrower, they'll gain the "Burn" for 60 seconds.
"Burn" makes the Survivor affected by it be in constant pain, whether they are fully healed or not, causing them to grunt from pain as if they are Injured or Dying.
"Burn" cannot be removed any earlier.

    @Yamaoka said:
    Yes, I like flamethrowers.

    I noticed.

  • waits until they use their Dead Hard
    downs them a second later

    Or
waits until i'm close enough for a quick hit
    hits

  • I mean yeah, making proposals would be better.
But anyone here knows SWF reels in that sweet money from Survivors.
No way are they gonna touch that mode for a long time, they're buffing solo Survivors...someday...

  • Alt+F4, Task Manager, going offline, turn off power...
It doesn't matter, they'll leave if they want to.

Besides, it seems unfair in the first place to not have it.
The punishment just isn't punishing enough.

  • There's stuff like this...
Then there's the devs insisting on keeping Totems on hills.
Idc how hidden you keep them on hills, as long as players know they can spawn on hills, they'll search them.
And hills are hard to miss.

  • Depends on what you mean with worst.

    Worst at entertaining the player?
    The Survivor?
    Killing?
    Chasing?
    Pressure?
    Presence?
    Add-on arsenal?
    Perk/Power synergy?

  • As: Nurse.
    Against: Legion.

  • Don't worry, most people do that 24/7.

  • It's fine to dislike the grind.
It's also fine to like the grind and anywhere between those two.

The focus of the game is where you put your focus.
I put my focus on killing as many Survivors as possible.

The new map will have second floor (like The Game for example)

    Isn't that a bit presumptuous?
There's multiple "Repair this Generator" achievements stating you need to repair a specific one on a second floor.
While yes, you'd have a second floor somewhere, i find it a bit far-fetched to take The Game as an example.

One of the last things i wanna see is a buff to solidify Exhaustion Perks in the meta.

  • Genrushing is a thing.
What's wrong in the picture is that Survivors get the verbal blame for it mostly.
Survivors need to repair, what they do isn't bad at all.
What's bad is the rate at which it can be done. (Plus a lot of anti-progression Perks on Killers just suck. (I said a lot, not all.))
