We have not confirmed the date of the Mid Chapter Patch - the only date we ever gave was for the event. Unless we actually confirm things on this forum or our official Twitter account it's best not to rely on what other people speculate.
I mean, it is kinda obvious that the latest date for the Mid Chapter would be the 22nd, when the Halloween Event should be part of the Rift.
-
I watched a lot of Horror Movies when I was younger (like 15 to 20). I discovered DBD through Youtube (some Youtubers I watched played it) in 2016, this was a few years after I stopped watching Horror movies, so this is not really related for me.
-
Yeah, its kinda annoying that most of the Freddys are running Paint Brush and Swing Chains, combined with Slowdown-Perks. New Freddy is so much more than massive Slowdown.
Will not suicide tho, but I dont blame anyone who does not want to waste his time in such a match.

I thought they were both meant to be released tomorrow?
The Mid Chapter Patch got no real date, if I am not mistaken. Even tho, it is logical that it should be released tomorrow (latest), when the Halloween Event would take place in the Free Track of the Rift.
So I doubt that the Mid Chapter will also be released tomorrow, which is kinda sad. Bad Chinese Event, no Event for 3rd Anniversary, no Event for Summer, delayed Halloween-Event and most likely Archives (something I was really looking forward to).

Not to mention the aura of the trap that disappears when you're next to them...
Poor Evan.
This is nothing new, but still annoying. Try to find your own traps while using Tar Bottles...
-
I hope not for licensed. For general DLC Characters - yes, but it would be nice to get some form of announcement before so that people might save their Shards to get those Characters, since some Challenges can only be completed with certain Characters.
But I would not like the fact that you need money to complete the Archives.
-
Yeah, its Dedicated Servers. Yesterday a Trapper got sucked into his own Trap while hooking me, allowing me to get free.
Same goes for Pallet Breaks - when you want to pick up a Trap near a Pallet, the Pallet Break starts. Once the Pallet is broken, you are auto-stepping in your own Trap.
Dedicated Servers are simply not ready.
-
Personally, when I go for Slowdown, I run:
Dying Light
Thana
Sloppy
PGTW
Filthy Blade or Nasty Blade (whatever I have)
Does not work too bad, but games tend to be quite long with that.
-
I have to agree on Billy, he gets all the Joke-Skins. Thats why I would probably never bother to buy a Hillbilly-Skin and stick with the P3-Skin.
I choose Plague. Her cosmetics are not bad looking, but they all look the same to me. Therefore, I like Default Plague (or P3) the most.
-
PGTW. If you need something else, take Corrupt over Ruin.
-
There are several things I dont understand. Not, because I am dumb, but because I simply dont get why people think they are a problem.
First of all, the old DS should NEVER come back. It was simply a Broken Perk, even more broken than MoM. That is because of two things:
First: When someone was the Obsession, you had to either dribble him or leave him on the Floor, if you were not in the situation where you can afford to eat the DS-Stun. Leaving him on the Floor could result in one Survivor never hooked during that game, which is a full-game immunity (and not only 60 seconds, or 120 seconds, when we go for two Hooks). Because it might be the case that there is no point in this game were you can afford to take the Stun.
Second: Non-Obsession DS, which was way more Bullshit than Standard-DS. You go for a chase, it is longer, but at least this person might not have DS. You get the down, you might even get a Basement Hook here-->Boom, this person had DS and you lost all of it, without having an indicator at all.
Because of those two aspects, old DS should NEVER return.
Regarding new DS:
I feel it is necessary. In fact, I never play characters without DS anymore, because I have seen, when nobody has DS or when you yourself do not have DS, the Killer will tunnel. Had it one evening, where I got tunneled 6 times in a row, while I wanted to use BP Offerings on some characters before prestiging them. Killer noticed that I do not have DS the first time, so they had no problem with tunneling me after the second Unhook. So, in my opinion, you need DS as a Survivor, because while there can be the possibility that you are at some structures to use them (this is why it should never pause in a chase as well), it might also be that you are somewhere where is nothing left to work with.
Now some things:
"It is 60 seconds immunity"-->Yes. But this does not mean that all 4 Survivors have 60 seconds immunity. And it is not even immunity at all - they cannot be hooked for 60 seconds. They can be slugged. A slugged Survivor is the same as a hooked Survivor, when it comes to Map Pressure: They cannot work on Gens and someone needs to get them up, which means that at least two people are not working on Gens. You should just not go for the unhooked, person, there are 3 other Survivors, which do not have DS at this point. Its not like the Killer is stunned for 60 seconds.
"But when I hook someone else it should disable!"-->No. If you slug the Survivor who just got unhooked, you still tunneled. Tunneling does not mean hooking the same guy two times in a row, tunneling means that you go after the person who just got unhooked. And thats what happened. And besides that - with all the Stories here, where Killers downed two other Survivors and still got hit by DS... If you are downing people that fast, you should be fine in that match anyway.
"DS Timer should be reverted to 3 seconds"-->No. Back in the day when it was 3 seconds, it was too short, even without Enduring. The animation to escape the Killers Grasp is like 1,3 seconds. Lets say it is 1 second to make it easier. So a Survivor covered 8 meters - which is nothing. So even without Enduring, DS was pretty much useless with 3 seconds Stun. People started to use it frequently with 5 seconds Stun.
"But when they have DS active they can do stupid things like Unhooking People"-->Thats true. But you can lunge at them to down them. And even if they manage to unhook, go after the unhooked person, it should not take that much time to get them, and now you have one guy on the Hook again (the one who already used DS) and one guy slugged nearby. Congratulations, they just screwed their whole team with that. Yes, people can unhook then, but it is just a Trade, you will at least have one guy on the Hook afterwards (who does not have DS anymore).
"But they can go into a locker"-->So? Dont follow the unhooked guy in the first place, when you were nearby the Hook anyway, the Unhooker should also be injured. And if they think it is clever to spend 60 seconds in a locker... Sure, they are not doing Gens and will still be injured afterwards. And even if they have Inner Strength, you can pull them out to get rid of their "free heal". And once again - maybe you are good enough in that game to take the DS or wait the 60 seconds in front of a Locker.
However, there are two problems I have with DS:
First: End Game--> It is a free escape. Maybe really make the Cypress Mori Baseline so that you can Mori that guy that might have DS.
Second: It does not have a meaningful effect on strong Killers. Now it is 5 seconds stun, minus the 1,3 seconds animation, it is 3,7 seconds or lets make it 4 seconds, to have it easier. This is 16 meters for a Survivor - what is that for Spirit? Or Nurse? Nothing. The two best Killers (which will still be Nurse and Spirit, even after the Patch) can take a DS without any problems. So a strong Survivor Perk does exactly nothing vs those two. And this is not the problem of DS...
tl;dr: DS is strong and probably the strongest Survivor Perk. But it is not the case that it is broken and it can be played around (with the exception of End Game).
-
Thing is, Skill for a Survivor is not to use a ton of safe Loops to waste the Killers time. The difference in Skill for Survivors is, how many Pallets he has to use. If Survivor A uses 5 Pallets to waste 3 minutes of the Killers time (as an example), he is not as skilled as the guy who uses 3 Pallets to keep the Killer occupied for 3 minutes. Of course this does not include running Bullshit Windows like Ironworks, but whatever.
Regarding the new Maps (I count Hawkins and Badham): If all Maps will have this Pattern, there need to be some adjustments. For example, for Badham and Hawkins, Bloodlust needs to go. There is really no way to justify such a mechanic which only has an effect when someone presses "W" instead of trying to play some of the unsafe Pallets. And there are many of them, both Maps have a Shitload of Pallets, but I think only 2 are really safe on Hawkins, and 6 on Badham (Shack, the two-storage Buildung, the Buildung with the Basement, and the School). The rest is unsafe and if a Survivor tries to play them, they will get a Hit. But Bloodlust makes it way to easy to get this Hit, just wait until BL3 kicks in and you got it, instead of trying to adjust the movement as Killer to bait the Survivor into a Mistake (which would actually be somewhat smart, because general Looping results in the Survivor mirroring the Killers Movement, but this would actually be a Mindgame).
Also, if all Maps will look like that, Spirit Fury really needs to be looked at. Pallets which need the Survivor to get the Stun should not be broken instantly, resulting in no Stun at all. Currently, Spirit Fury/Enduring is not used that much, but if Maps get more Pallets, but only Unsafe Ones, it can be problematic.
Personally I would like to have a chance to get away during a Chase, but the way the Pallets are structured, this is quite difficult to lose LoS to the Killer. Hawkins is still quite open when it comes to LoS (at least you dont have that much time to go away, since the Loops are really Short, so if the Killer decides to walk around the Pallet, you will not have that much distance to actually hide), and Badham has waist high-Structures, which do not really help with hiding.

Honestly the only problem I have with the new decisive strike is a lot of survivors use it as a free pass to do a lot of annoying things in your face.
Completing generators
Doing totems
Very unsafe hook rescues
Any time you try to punish it by grabbing them you're basically getting decisive striked even if you didn't tunnel in the slightest.
It's not even much of an anti tunneling perk it's more of a hey you can't touch me for one minute whether you're tunneling or not.
Why do you grab them anyway? Lunge at them and slug them.
-
Since it might be kinda related to this topic:
Any Jakes up for some Basement Parties on PC?
-
What a shitshow of Thread.
DC-Penalties will come. That is all what is needed. You do not need to punish a Survivor because another Survivor DCed. How is it my fault, as a Solo Survivor, when another guy I dont know ragequits? Why should I be punished for that?
-
Honestly, this giant guy was one of the most boring things in Outlast. He was terrifying at the start, but bringing him over and over again took the charme. Trager (the "Doctor") would be better, but we already have a mad Doctor.
I kinda liked the antagonist from Whistleblower (not the Cannibal), the guy who followed you calmly and wanted to make you his wife. But I doubt that he can get one meaningful power or fit in this game at all.

Even with infinite time the challenges can get annoying and luck based.
4 basement sacrifices in 1 match for example is map and bad survivor reliant.
2 kills at egc with noed also...Requires a door to be open and 2 survivors to get downed/killed in time without walking out...
In live these will still be a major issue due to being unrealistic goals. You also can only do one of these at a time making it worse.
Thats the thing:
I dont think that the Rift Pass should be completed by everyone. In my opinion, it is fine to have some kind of a challenge. And it is not even super-difficult, you can use Map Offerings, Perks, etc. Then dont get your BBQ Stacks for the Basement Challenge, you can use Agitation and Iron Grasp. A door needs to be open for one challenge? Open it.
I mean, I have played games with Missions which were way more difficult. Some of them I did not even complete in years, because I am not good enough to do so. But this is not the Problem with the Archive Challenges, they take some time, but they are not too hard to do. It is not that someones Skill is not enough for those, DBD is a casual game, after all.
And in the end, if people do not have the time or the will to play for the Rift Pass - they can buy Tiers in it. Or the Cosmetics later. And they can buy a new Rift Pass all of the time, if they like. It is not meant that 99% of the Playerbase pay 10 Euro/Dollar/whatever one time and have Rift Passes until the end of the world. I mean, you can expect this - but this is not a realistical expectation.
I dont even know if I will be able to complete it, if not, whatever. If - cool, I have another free Rift Pass.
@PotEtU said:
Something like this In a game that costs 20 bucks plus 7 or more bucks per three months for new killers and survivors, is total bullshit, if there wasn't a premium track, cool free #########, but now you need to pay another 10 for some bullshit that you might not even finish. I'm highly against it and won't pay a cent on top of what i already have bought
"now you need to pay". Nope. You dont need to. You can enjoy the game without paying anything for the Rift Pass, you may want to buy the Cosmetics later (possibly at a higher cost, if you want more than one Cosmetic). So dont act like one of BHVRs employee is knocking at your door, asking for money with a knife in their hand.

Well... yes. That's the entire point of having a PTB. The test build is supposed to imitate the live version so that people can give feedback on the features introduced there. I don't think it's really fair to suggest that feedback given on the PTB is irrelevant or ill-informed since making changes based on that feedback is why the PTB exists.
It is not compareable to the Live Version. You have way more time for the Challenges on the Live Version of the game.
For me, PTB exists to find the biggest issues (like really imbalanced Stuff) or Problems/Bugs with new Content. For real tests, only the Live Version is really helpful.

That probably happened because huntress only has one iridescent addon.
@anarchy753 said:
That's because slots on the bloodweb are by rarity, not by unique add ons.
As Huntress only has Iridescent Head and Ebony Mori as ultra rares, every ultra rare on the web has a 50/50 shot of being heads.
Infantry Belt has to compete with all her other very rare add ons, and several garbage offerings.
^ this
Of course this does not solve the mystery why I get only Fuming Mixtapes and no Iridescent Buttons on Legion, but hey.
Thats also the reason why Ebony Moris are not as rare as they should be. On a Killer which does not have any Iridescent Add Ons, you will get Ebony Moris really fast. Like on my Hillbilly, I have only 3 Ivory Moris, but around 40 Ebonys.
-
Q&A will be next week.
And besides that... Why change anything? Because people in DBD once again complained about something without testing it on the Live Version? Like they do every time?

I honestly hope thats how it works tbh.
lol.
Just dont slug for the 4K, when not all Gens are done and you got a 3K, you already won. There is no need for a Killer to have infinite time to find a Survivor (besides this could result in Hostage Situations).
@topic:
Sad thing about the Husk-Situation is, it only benefits the Killer. I mean, the Killer only cares for his BBQ-Stack, this is mostly the reason they complain about DCs (at least when going through the Topics about that)... For a Survivor it does not matter if there will be a Husk or not.
Besides that, I doubt that DC-Penalties do anything. People will just kill themselves on Hook. And you cannot punish that.
-
Meanwhile you are using 3 Blink Nurse with Range Add-On and are DCing on a Map Offering. And I thought only Survivors DC...
Nice double standards, Mate.
-
Wiggling is fine in my opinion. There should be some effort for the Survivor so that he does not end up in the Basement. Hook struggling on the other hand has to be automatic with an option to give up.
And more Survival-BP are really needed for Survivors, the BP-Cap for Survivors is more like 29k than 32k.
-
PGTW all the way. More reliable than Ruin.
On some Killers I use Corrupt Intervention as well.
-
Killer Adepts should be 4 Sacrifices. This would be easier than it is now, but will not have the chance to bypass this by simply using an Ebony.
Killer Adepts are simply idiotic, because the difficulty is artificially increased by the Ranking System - not only has someone who plays Killer on Red Ranks stronger Survivors to go against, but this person also needs to do more for the Double Pip than someone in e.g. yellow Ranks.
I am not doing Killer Adepts for exactly this reason. And I cannot bother to wait a few Rank Resets to be in yellow Ranks, to try to get those Achievements.

Here's a video of all gens being completed in under 4 minutes. Last one pops at 3:52.
I'm not a fan of Tru3 (though he actually plays survivor here), but facts are facts.
To be honest:
This Myers played extremely bad. He has Unlimited EW3 (which is his choice, but it takes some while to get it, nothing wrong here). But, he broke EVERY PALLET he came across. The Killer is a German Streamer, I watched the VOD. And well, breaking every Pallet on new Badham Maps is something that will make you lose. All Pallets outside of the Buildings are playable, especially when you only need 1 Hit to down people and have Extra Lunge.
Of course Gens are flying when the Killer thinks he needs to break every unsafe Pallet to give the Survivor he is chasing time to get to the next Pallet.

so you are saying its fine that they hardcounter certain killers, just by equipping a certain perk?
something the killer doesnt know and therefore cant react to it properly until its too late?
thats like saying OoO versus a GF is perfectly fine and balanced, its just bad luck on GF's part.
now, for GF they found a good solution, by having him enter the Undetectable status uppon activating his power, though for the Trapper - Small Game issue, we cant just add "traps are undetectable" to the beartrap but still leave the "detects traps" part in the perk, that would make no sense. instead, we should remove the whole "notifies you of traps" aspect of the perk, as thats where the main problem comes into play and the perk itself doesnt even focus on that part anymore. thats just an addition to it that screws Trapper over, which imo is just unneeded - Trapper is nowhere strong enough to have such a hardcounter.
OoO is a completely different thing, because it counters ALL Stealth Killers. Small Game only counters Trapper (and Hag, to an extend, but it is not really useful vs Hag).
And I mean... If I equip Iron Will to have a chance vs Spirit, Spirit can simply use Strider to Hardcounter my Iron Will. As long as I am not using Iron Will and No MIther, I will lose.
So yeah, I would say, its bad luck. It is one out of 17 Killers where Small Game is usefull (aside from searching for Totems of course).

in case of a Trapper, i can understand the hate towards the perk though.
like, you spent a lot of time getting that setup going and they get to just walk around and disarm everything for free, which is kinda stupid.
Trapper doesnt really need such a huge middlefinger counterperk.
Thats a Trapper-Thing and not a Small Game-Thing. Trapper is in need of some Buffs, but I would not see Small Game as any problem. It is good vs Trapper, yes. Thats bad luck. Nothing more.
EDIT: That is like complaining about Windows of Opportunity, because it is good vs M1-Killers.
-
Are we at the point where we complain about Survivor Perks like Small Game?
-
No, I dont want to do a soil study.
-
No Mither (obviously)
Iron Will (because No Mither is too bad at lowering your Grunts of Pain, so you need Iron Will as well... You cannot really go on chases, so be as stealthy as possible)
Dead Hard (when it is not bugged...)
DS (because it might happen that you get tunneled again, because you are an easy target)

This was the same last year. Whenever one of those Plants got harvested, you got the 4K BP. Same with hooking on a Special Hook. You simply did not get any Vile Progress.

Legion. It looks like it is impossible to depip with them, a 2K can also be a Pip.
If you want to be effective, every other Killer than Legion basically. But if it is just about the Pips, use Legion.
-
Regarding Plague: A real reason to cleanse and a Nerf to Corrupt Purge need happen. Like you said, a Slowdown would be cool. I would maybe even go for a bigger Slowdown. So that you can still complete a Gen if you like, but that it is no fun at all (like old Freddy Slowdown... You can do a Gen in the Dream World, but you dont want to do that). Or putting them into Dying State after a while. I think Plague (and Pig) are not that bad, but because of the strong Corrupt Purge and the Survivors not cleansing because of it, Plague really becomes boring.
Regarding PIg: Like I said above, I think Pig is not that bad. I have some pretty good results with her and I like her way of playing, classical M1 with a nice Slowdown Mechanic. What Pig needs is an Add On Rework. You have really few Add Ons which are actually useful, and others are not used at all. This limits her quite a lot in my opinion and I would honestly have more variety when using her Add Ons. Kinda like Spirit, she has many good Add Ons which alter different kinds of her Power.

Again if you spent more than 5 mins looking for a survivor this isn't the game's fault change your tracking perk.
It seems like YOU don't understand that I'm saying that if you were any good this wouldn't change anything.
It never happened to me. Maybe you should not base your arguments on assumptions. But yeah, I guess there is no point to discuss. If you want to have a 4K every game, this will not be possible. And it does not matter tbh, if you stomp the Survivors so that they dont get any Gens done, you won already.
But like I said, not open for an endless discussion when one part is not really able to think ahead.

Look if you want to half ass your games thats okay but I won't entertain the notion it's a good mechanic. This is literally there just so survivors stop crying on the forum and sensing hate mail to good killers.
"It's so the game isn't held hostage" are you for ######### real ? XD hahahahahaha dude if the 4 of you couldn't get out it isn't my problem change game.
You ARE being hostage this is the entire point of the game! XD
It seems like you dont understand this topic. This is fine, I will explain it again:
It is not about the Survivor being held hostage. But if you have 1 Survivor left, the Hatch cannot spawn because not enough Gens were done, there might be the situation where the last Survivor just stealths around the Map. If the Killer does not have Whispers, it can be impossible to find the Survivor.
So, what should the Killer do? Wander around the Map to find the Survivor? Not really an option. This can last for hours and while it is rare, it should not happen at all. And it happened back in the day.
This is the reason why the Hatch spawns when not any Gens are done. And thats also why the EGC starts when the Hatch is closed. This is basically the reason why EGC exists in the first place.
-
@TheUnendingNightmare said:

It still is but I'M being held hostage.
I can't kill one of the last two guys bc I have to search for the other one.
Nope, you dont have to. It is your decision to slug and search for the fourth guy. The game is also not hold hostage at this point, because the Survivor on the ground will bleed out and the Hatch will open, which means you can either close it or the Survivor will get it.
Like, just hook the 3rd person. If Hatch did not spawn the Killer has every advantage to find the Hatch first (faster and does not have to hide). And it is not really worth to prolong a game so much just for the fourth Kill when you already won anyway and can go to the next game.
-
Hatch is there to prevent Hostage Situations. I mean, we can totally remove the Hatch when no Gens were done. Enjoy your 3h game then.

Because otherwise there would be Hostage Situations.
-
Nah, does not really work. I am currently Rank 7 and got matched with Rank 17 Killer. While playing Solo.
-
I think letting Moris work on the second Hook is the easiest solution, therefore it comes to the mind of many people. I mean, you dont really need to think about it, to get to the conclusion that Moris would be more fair when working on the second hook.
However, they would indeed be almost useless. They would get rid of the fear of DS after the second Hook. But might also simply take longer than hooking someone (like Plagues or Clowns Mori, which are pretty long).
Personally, I would either have them work after all Survivors have been hooked at least once or if a number of Hooks got reached in total. Like after 4 Hooks in total, you can mori every Survivor who got hooked at least once. This would avoid shifting the game in the Killers favor instantly by just using a Mori on a Survivor who just got unhooked.
And yellow Mori can be Baseline I guess.

I did not say that it does not get destroyed early. And tbh, just dont use Ruin. PGTW is way better anyway.

For me, a sweaty Killer is:
Someone who brings in REALLY strong Add Ons AND an Ebony Mori. If someone brings an Ebony, it is not funny at all, but if they want to... Like, I played vs a Doctor recently, fair-playing guy, he had an Ebony. Was not even mad, he played fair and square, and after all, he is playing one of the weakest Killers in the game. However, if someone plays Iri Head Huntress or Prayer Beads Spirit with a Mori, this is just sweaty.
Also people who play like the biggest Jerk after a DC or Kill on first Hook. Just yesterday had a Legion in my game who camped me with 5 Gens to go, Ruin still up and 1 person killing himself on the first Hook. Like, if this happens (or if someone DCs), just play chill. You won already. I dont mean that they have to farm, but let the Survivors get some points by Unhooks or even 1 or 2 Gens. The Killer itself will also get more Points and more likely to get a Pip. This Legion got 18k Points and probably a Blackpip (He Onehooked 3 Survivors and the last one DCed, but even without the DC, it would have been 4 Onehooks).
