Killer is more stressful since you are alone against 4, but i also think many here have way to high expectations. Usually as killer, i and probably most here 3 or 4K the majority of rounds. So when you dont get the 4K or gens go faster then expected, relax a little bit. I really dont think devs can make this game more relaxing for killer mains as it is right now. If oyu are not on the VERY top level and play SWF all the time, survivors wont stand a chance otherwise.
In reality, killer is only stressful because we let it happen to us. Enjoy the game and if you loose from time to time, take it easy.
-
Currently i go with Spies. I have not used it since ages but Randomizer forced me to... and it was great.
Nobody has Spies on its Radar thats why i think it is a good perk.
-
I dont enjoy the mending part so it goes to Mr Myers.
-
Billy is always fun going against while Nemesis is just another unnecessary range killer. So its a very easy pick for me.
-
Not an easy one for me since i like both of them, but i picke Plague simply because i dislike the gigantic Hatchet hitbox.
-
Easy one for me.
-
Trapper is my cryptonite so unless its Deathslinger or Twins, i have to pick the other killer :D
-
Unlicensed.
He or she will be a teritorial killer, a little bit like Trapper or Hag.
-
There are only 2 scary things in DbD for me:
- A great Huntress. Not feeling safe even across the map is super scary.
- Trapper. I start playing like rank 20 when knowing its the Trapper. Every window, every pallet, every loop, every grassholm is trapper. And he has Iri Stone... for sure.

After 2 months of only playing killer, I decided to give solo q a try again. Ofc, I am rank 20 because of reseting.
Here are my matches:
First game my teammates hide in corners while I have kindred and they can clearly see someone is being chased on the other side of the map.
Second game same story.
Third game I have a 3 man swf with no mither, bodyblocking me, sand bagging me, m1 spamming me on hook, wasting their flashlights on my face while I was on hook and then make fun of me in eg chat.
Fourth game a David with No Mither gets tunneled out while we had an afk Dwight and a crouchig Ace.
Fifth game I do 4 gens while my team gets tunneled by a GF while swarming him. And I mean tunneling, because at some point I intentionally positioned myself (while injured) so I trade hooks, but he insisted to ignore my body blocking just to go for the unhooked guy.
Sixth game I played Deathslinger and got a 3k.
Now my question is: How can I play survivor if I'm rank 20, can't rank up because I never have ANYONE repairing anything and killers camping and tunneling while my team mates feed, and I don't have friends to swf with?
I could say it gets better when you reach red ranks, but i dont wanna lie to you.

She's not, she's just an easier nurse to play, not at all on level with nurse
I also think so, but apperently not everybody. Looking at some tier lists from well known streamers, they acutally think she is the most powerful killer. Otz is a good example. Also here, you see people claiming she is the best. I just want to have a serious discussion if possible and i want ot hear their POV why they think so.
-
Franklins? Does not affect me, since i dont use items. Does not seem super strong anyway.
-
I pay 10 $ just to NOT get this killer.
-
First build: I would probably pick something like BT instead of Alert, but its a great build.
Second build: Lightweight in its current state is not that great and has no synergy with your build. Instead of it, i would use Dance with me (good pair with Lithe). SC is meh, but otherwise if you are confident with it, go for it. I would prefere Adrenaline or Inner Strenght.

I was wondering why I hardly see it. It seems op now
I guess most people when playing survivors including myself actually dont like that playstyle and rather want get seen so they are a target for the killer. Chase is the main fun part of this game, so why cut it short? :)

Repairspeed is fine, mapsize is not.

Is there interaction between Open-Handed and either Leader or Alert? I started using Leader recently.
As far as i know, no. Leader is no aura reading perk and Alert works across the entire realm.

This is the only game I've ever played where one side seems to think the other side has to:
- Avoid tactics that win (slugging, tunneling, camping)
- Avoid Killers or Perks that win (Don't use <x> character/power/skills/etc)
- Have to reward the other side playing badly (It's a Killer's fault if Survivors 3 gen, and Survivors WILL insist the Killer is holding the game hostage for not giving them a free gen)
- Hold the other side responsible for their fun (IE: It's Killers who 'play like sweats' or 'need to let up' or 'stop tryharding' and 'be happy with a 3K' and 'stop trying for a 4K')
- Let someone get away. Seriously, I get blasted for not giving someone a free escape for...vague reasons. (IE: Stop trying for the 4K (again). Give Final Survivor the hatch/door or you're a 'sweat')
- 'Stop trying so hard' while also trying hard to win. (Again; Killers need to stop 'tryhard'ing while Survivors bring 4 man SWFs and toolboxes with BNPs and 4 second chance perks, each. But Killers are supposed to not try to kill them before 1 gen pops, or after 5 gens pop. Speaking of...)
- Make up an arbitrary time limit and think it's enforceable. (IE: 'The Killer has lost after 5 gens.' and 'NoED rewards failing since 5 gens popped'.)
Oddly, when I do play Survivor with a friend, I never see a Killer demand the Survivors stop genrushing, or stop using certain perks, or give him a free kill if he does badly, or give him final kill, etc.
Aaaan again, we demonize the survivors and act like this is a one sided problem. Why do you keep doing this over and over again?
I and everyone else who plays both sides experiences the same ammount of complains from killers too. Stop Genrush, buhu Deadhard, Sweaty SWF, annoying looping, complains about DS, keys, annoying tryhards etc etc.

There's a difference:
Killers don't claim keys are 'unfun'; they point out that the logic behind nerfing moris applies to keys (which were never nerfed as promised)
SWF clearly breaks every concept about the game, including many Killer perks or powers. If the game was MADE for SWF; fine. But as it sits, the devs ignore how SWF literally ignores 60% of the game.
I'm against using 'unfun' as a metric for balance on EITHER side. But that does not mean things are not 'OP'. The problem here is that Survivors will claim ANYTHING is 'Unfun'. I've seen 'Trapper unfun, nerf' and 'Legion unfun, nerf'. Survivors claim EVERY Killer is 'unfun, plz nerf' within 24 hours of a new Killer hitting PTB. I have never, NEVER not seen a '<New Killer> unfun/OP' post within 24 hours of drop.
Survivors seem to be so entitled that they think their fun trumps literally everything else about the game, including Killer fun. They think 'I'm not having fun' is a proper metric for balancing every aspect of the game. And it's not.
So try again.
Lets go over this step by step just really quick before we move on.
- We acutally have to use fun in a video game as the metric, because thats it what it is all about. Especially in DbD were competetion is low to non existing. Fun and ballance have to stay in direct interaction with each other of course. Thats how you create a good game. Just ignoring fun for ballance is (and the way around) not a good idea. So forget that please.
- Deathslinger for example is unfun, and most would be fine with buffing him, just for the sake that he becomes a fun killer.
- The arugment OP = Unfun is bullshit. For example most agree Blight is fun to play against, and he is arguable one of the strongest killer in the game. So are Hillbilly or Huntress. The majority of people love those killer despite their strenght.
- Very true you can say it about anything, and there are people who dont like this and that killer or hate certain maps or even certain survivors. But again, we have to go with the majority. If 1 of 100 thinks, Twins are unfun, then it is irrelevant. If 50/100 think they are unfun... we have a problem. Again, its not about ballancing alone (thats a different topic and i guess we have to talk about SWF, Keys, Addons, some maps and also some killer)
I think i summed it, not much to add to that topic.

That message being 'Nerf any Killer that we are too lazy to learn to play against.' 😁
Maybe i am missing something and you are sarcastic, but if you are not, how about we use that "too lazy to learn" for everything?
SWF not op, learn to play against. Keys not op, learn to play against. Any perk ever not op, just learn to play against. You do realise how dumb this is, do you?
Said that, it is not about how op something is, but rather how enjoyable. Legion for example was pretty bad, but he was not enjoyable the slightest. Not everything people want to get changed is neccessary overpowered.

"It's not fun to go against X killer" "X killer perk is unfun and non engaging"
These are the templates for most topics on these forums. You realise that fun is subjective right? Even if you don't find a killer fun to verse someone else might. And some killers might be fun to play as, but, to some people unfun to verse. So you can't ask for something in the game to be changed based on a subjective statement. Had to make this discussion after reading the latest "nerf deathslinger" post even though he literally has nothing else going for him except chase potential. Same with trickster because people have also been up in arms about nerfing him since his changes due to him being "unfun"
You complain about people complaining. In a forum.
People are entitled to complain here, deal with it (even your complain about complaining is valid somehow even tho its pointless in my opinion)

MY FUN MATTERS MORE THAN THE KILLER'S
MY FUN WARRANTS BALANCE CHANGES
CATER TO ME, DON'T CONSIDER THE PEOPLE THAT LIKE DEATHSLINGER
Capt. Capslock, you good? The fun of the majority (those who dislike Slinger) matters more then the fun of the minority (those who enjoy him). So yes, in that case, my fun matters more then the killers / those survivors who like him... simply because i am within the majority on that case. If i would be one of only a few with this opinion, i had to deal with it, but its not the case.
-
There is only one thing i dislike as a killer: Flashlight macros.
Everything else is fine for me and i usually enjoy.
-
I am not a survivor main, but when i do play survivor these are the most fun killer for me:
- Wraith
- Demogorgon
- Leatherface
- Hillbilly
- Doctor
- Huntress
- Plague
- Blight
- Pig
- Ghostface
- Myers
- Oni
If i had to pick one, i would choose a very good Hillbilly or Blight.

That is the worst compensation I have ever heard. That's like removing Nurse's ability to blink through objects in exchange for making her break pallets with her lunge or something. I get you don't like Deathslinger, but you have to understand that making him have to aim like Huntress will destroy him. Have you ever gone against a Deathslinger who ADSed for any length of time when trying to shoot you? It's pathetically easy to dodge - not even to mention how terrible his gun would be at walled loops and corners with this change.
What he SHOULD receive is a PH-style cooldown after putting his gun down, to stop the braindead zoning, and make him move at 4.6m/s when his gun isn't loaded to give him some limited mobility. If need be, increase how quickly the survivor can move when being reeled in and Deathslinger is walking backwards. Anything else WILL gut him. Terror radius increase/lullaby? Now with his limited range, he'll never be able to spear anyone because they'll know he's coming from a mile away. No deep wounds when breaking chain? Now he has even less map pressure.
Deathslinger is balanced very precariously right now. Not every killer can be looped in the same way, nor should they be, and they have to be very careful with any basekit changes they make. If they should be made at all, that is.
Idk, reeling in is one of his biggest problems. It costs a shittone of time. But i would be fine with your change aswell beside the 4.6 buff. IF they add something like that, they have to change his terror radius aswell.
People here treat him a bit lightly, he is still a competent killer who can even 4K in tournaments (been there). He is not as weak as some say.

the best? was the best idk if this is a joke. either way her power now having a cooldown on being able to use it consecutively forcing you to just walk which is mind numbing or just stand their without moving while it does because you cant catch a survivor. they made her add on reliant ....
How about you play her a little bit before you judge? She is still the by far best killer in the game and a good Nurse player still crushes any SWF.. no hope.

I did not? I said he needs more windup time. To compensate for this nerf, increase the reeling in speed.

The only changes he could probably use include better add-ons and a lullaby of some sort.
The only change he need is windup time period. And if only for like 0,5-0,75 seconds, but his quickscope is simply stupid.

I dont know, thats why i am asking. I get nothing but 4Ks and chases take usually less then 10 seconds. He does not feel like C Tier at all.
Keep in mind that most Trickster you probably play against are pretty bad with him because they still have to get used to his power.

It's both gen speed and map size.
Maps keep getting bigger and base 80s gen speed combined with the likelihood that in most games survivors with start spread out and near a gen sort of means before a killer even has the ability to move they are at a disadvantage in terms of map pressure. Factor in a lot of killers not having ways to pressure the map it can be a bit much at times.
Gens used to take longer to do by default and maps used to not come out to be gigantic. It would be nice if either one of these things could come back. Like if you want larger maps killers gotta have more time to work their way around that map. Then again kicking gens now runs the risk of you getting your eyes replaced with fireballs so who knows.
I dont know about that 2bh. Look at Coal Tower for example. This map has all the loops and a decent main building for survivor but killer and survivor can agree that it is a very ballanced map, especially because of its small and relative simple map design. Imagine we would reduce generator repairspeed on a map like Coal Tower, Chapel or Saloon... would be unplayable for survivors. Not to mention that repairing gens is one of the most boring thing in the game but thats just a sidenote.
On top of that genspeed is very hard to fix, while changing the size of maps is not. There are so many parts that have to be adjusted if they decide to increase genspeed - Perks and also Map layout specifially.

Judging from the replies, a lot of people do think it means "come get me." Since there's no consensus, it explains why there's confusion in solo queue. No one knows what the other is trying to say but we all think we do.
Thats very true. For me it means the killer is camping. Maybe it would be a good idea to create a poll and go with the general understanding of it.
-
@BingBongMan said:

Well... genspeeds have been getting complained about for years. As long as I can remember playing DBD, there has always been someone piping up about how fast gens can go.
To some degree map size can factor in to how fast gens are done. But no matter how big a map is, if survivors split up to do gens. There isn't much a non - meta killer can do other than try to force a 3 gen.
Thats true, but the term "genspeed" is very vague. They just mean "the game is going very fast". To reduce that, i would rather change some maps then the genspeed. On small maps, genspeed is fine, sometimes even to slow if the killer is strong, but on other maps, it takes to long to patrole them.
-
@QwQw said:
I take it as "nobody's saving me".

-
Survivors slowed down? You mean gens i guess, right?
If its about suruvivors movement speed: No, not at all a good idea.
It its about gens: I disagree. Its not genspeed, its map size. Reduce the size of some big maps just a little bit and we should be good to go.

Oh buddy.
Lemme let you in on a little secret:
Your opinion doesn't matter.
As long as your measure is based on fun rather than actual balance, nothing will change about those killers. So you can either suck it up, or you know, disconnect and get a penalty.
Sure, my opinion does not matter, but since its the majority who decides its your opinion who is at the current state of Deathslinger relativly irrelevant. Suck it up, he will get the cut sooner or later, there is no need to defende a killer who is generally hated. Think of other people and stop beeing selfish.
-

Shoots you from across the map before you can even hear me
You know how satisfying that is as a Deathslinger? How much of an "Oh #########!" jumpscare moment it is for Survivor? Because that's part of why I love playing against Deathslinger.
No, @Power_Guy is right. Most people who complain that someone is unfun usually ends up losing to that specific Killer. Either that or they don't like a mechanic they introduce into the game, or a playstyle they force on you to counter them. None of that is still any good reasons to nerf or buff a killer purely based on what is or isn't fun.
If they're not fun to you, tough #########. Suck it up and play the game and wait for the next match. Or at least try to change your playstyle.
You are entiteled to have an opinion, but you are on a very lonely field on that matter. Deathslinger Spirt and Twins are the most hated killers in the game and thats why they are also the most complained.
That you have fun against those killers is good and i am happy for you, but it does not really matter, since most dont enjoy going against them. The majority speaking has more weight then your opinion.
-
@Power_Guy said:
'Fun' is not a balancing factor because of one simple fact: Most people hate to lose.
Yes, the game OVERALL should be fun, but you can't balance Killers based on 'fun' because the Survivors who say '<x> is unfun, nerf' are really saying 'I lost to <x>, therefore it is not fun'.
Do you think those same people would ROFLstomp a Killer and go 'Hmm. We won by a landslide the last 10 times we faced Nemesis, but it was so easy it was not fun; perhaps he needs a buff'?
And before you say 'Yes, they would'; just look at Wraith: He went from trash to mid-tier and Survivors are claiming he's 'unfun'. In fact, ANY killer that gets more than 2 kills on average is called 'unfun, plz nerf'.
So fun is NOT a metric to balance Killers by, because the ones claiming 'unfun' are usually claiming it because they lost. Not for any true balancing reasons.
This is nonsense, no offense. Most survivors have great games even tho they die / loose the game. I for example have more fun loosing against a fun killer then winning against party poopers like Deathslinger or Twins.
-
@Exxodus21 said:
Nobody uses real counterplay anymore anyway. They just throw pallets early and hold W for distance, then repeat. Sadly, I think the days of mindgaming and true counterplaying are gone.
The reason for that is cause and effect. The Devs create killers where survivors had to adapt and they came up with this cheap and boring tactic. Now killer mains are complaining that this is unfun...
What you sow, you will reap.
-
@Snowbawlzzz said:
I'm sick of this nonsensical argument, "X is un-interactive and un-fun, they need a rework".
YOU find my killer unfun, I'M having fun. Your fun doesn't hold more weight than mine, nor does it warrant balance changes. 90% of the time a killer is given this title, it's done out of pure salt. The other 10% are people that mistake their personal enthusiasm level for a legitimate reason to suggest changes.
The argument is a bit strange, since you are defending your "fun experience" by telling survivors they should stop complaining that they have an aweful experience...
Ever thought about this logic?
-
He is not. I am not even sure if he is Nr.3. Personally i think a good Hag can be more powerful.

@gatsby said:
In general (with a few exceptions), the more fun a Killer is to play against, the less fun they are to play.
Having chase interaction and a lot of counterplay options feels horrible for Killers. The closer a Killer is to a standard M1 Killer, the easier it is to do the classic pre-drop pallets, hold W and dead hard to safety looping that Survivors love and Killers loathe.
It's painful for me when I'm playing a weaker Killer and I realize that the matchmaking either gave me a SWF or a team of Rank 1s. I lose those matches the majority of the time, not because the Survivors are better but because they can get away with BS that only works because of my Killer choice. The Survivors have tons of fun in those matches, but I just want to DC.
I love many interactions as a killer, chases are for both sides the only thing that drives me in DbD. I wonder why someone even plays killer when "many interaction" is a bad thing. I never understood what the point of easy downs in a multiplayer game is..
-
As killer:
- Tunneling while 3 hooking everyone and not hooking anybody twice in a row. Happend a few times.
- Cheater because i use BBQ
As survivor:
- Unfair player, because looping the killer.
- Beeing in a SWF when i play solo

Nurse can't be "looped", but she can be Juked and mindgamed.
Blight also can see everything whilst using his dash, making him less susceptible to stealth unlike nurse.
Tbh, he's stronger than her map mobility wise, just less so than in a chase. That's what gives nurse her edge.
Mindgaming or juking a good Nurse is like landing a 360 against a good M1 killer. Might happen once every (long) while, but its nothing you can rely on.
-
Simple answer: No
Blight might have a better mobility, but he still can be looped by good survivors, while Nurse simply cant, which gives her the edge.
