Nothing to do with DS.
This bug has been posted about upwards of 7+ times; take a look around if you want to, lol.
It has to do with a survivor wiggling free (or, I think, at least getting upwards of 95% of the bar), and then the Killer immediately picks up another Survivor (without performing any other actions).
Ohhhh. I actually did look at other posts but didn't know that was the same thing.

It's not, I'd just prefer to be 'made whole' before continuing to give from my end.
Not seeming hopeful at this point
Oh, good point.

Waiting on mine. Would like to get my shards before buying the new character pack.
Are those even purchaseable with shards?
I tried to submit a request through the support website, but that is disabled it seems.

Yes the Shards are still being sent out. I do thank you all for the patience that you've shown in waiting, I understand the frustration about waiting for something. Hopefully this means that people here have got their shards now.
Hi. So, still continue to wait? And on what date should I take action if I still haven't received them? Two weeks from now?

Hi there,
I'd love to know what are some known hacks so I know what to report.
I'm relatively new to DBD, but I've noticed as a killer a few things happening that I believe are hacks. Survivors opening lockers without going in, survivors instantly healing a health state on another survivor who was only just been knocked into dying state. That kind of thing.
Problem is I'm too new to know for sure what is and isn't possible in this game, so I would love to know what hacks y'all know exist.
The one I can 100% confirm is a killer having 4 hex totems in the match with 0 hex perks in map. This was recorded about a year ago.

Exactly. Imagine a top mmr killer returns after a long break and they re still at top mmr. Not fair or fun.
Yeah. That sounds terrible. I don't want to play for a few hours just for my MMR to normalize.
I've played against killers recently that returned and they didn't know about Boil Over or other changes. I felt bad for em.
-
@ThanksForDaily said:
Devs said your killer mmr will decay overtime in the near future.
Not sure if it's on already. I don't think so.
Oooo, interesting. That would help people like me that play a varied set of killers.
Not playing killers consistently, I sometimes forget nuance behind a killer's power, how I like to play the killer, and why I have the perk setup I have.

NOED only works against weird teams intentionally ignoring NOED and trying to go save, DH can undo pretty much any chases consistently.
Well, you don't know it's NOED until you have one hooked and one on the ground often. But yeah, altruism happens.
Winning one chase doesn't help if the other three don't have DH. In my experience, all teammates don't have it. I just go after the others.
@ReikoMori said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/311305/devs-are-biased-towards-dead-hard-and-noed
Your deaths are the result of not taking actions to actively prevent it. You may not like it, but calling it undeserved is not just fall out silly it also makes it seem as if you feel you "deserve" to survive which is pretty petty and entitled.
I think playing killer with 3 perks for most of the match "deserves" exposed survivors during EGC. But I wouldn't mind if the speed boost got removed.

Its queue times. If not enough killers are playing you have a higher chance to get survivors outside your mmr.
True. I did switch to mostly evening killer lately. Been getting relaxing matches for a month or so.
-
@fulltonon said:
NOED is definitely not as strong as DH, you can't change my mind.
NOED is probably more variable. Could get a 4K or could do nothing because of it.
DH is probably more consistent on a person that uses it well. But one person having Dead Hard won't save the whole squad.
I don't think comparing a killer perk to a survivor one is very productive.

I like when Dead Hard works against me. I smile at their crafty play.
I like when I bait it out. Because I just ruined their play.

@dugman said:
Here's an interesting table. This is the counts of survivors that had Dead Hard per match and their relative kill rates. There's definitely a correlation between number of Dead Hard users and lower kill rates. (This doesn't prove causation, it could simply be that really, really good survivors tend to use Dead Hard because it's popular, but maybe they'd be able to escape anyway for example. But it is a correlation.)
I tried Dead Hard a bunch when I was a new player. Got destroyed so I stopped using it for like 6 months.
Got better and started trying it again. Now I have about a 50% or slightly less effectiveness from it. Still not talking escapes. Just that I don't go down during usage because of better timing. However, I don't use it consistently on builds because I'm trying other stuff rn.
I suspect if I were to use it one year from today, I'd have better results. Using it (timing) and where to use it (map knowledge) takes some experience, as compared to other easier to use good perks (BT, B:CoH, Iron Will, etc.).
Your numbers are what I'd expect for Dead Hard. It's a perk that better survivors use to improve their looping effectiveness.

Oh, well I'd personally disregard all games with a DC.
Cant really use data from a DC for good stats, winning a 3v1 isnt hard. Maybe you or the op could have stats on non DC games, thatd interest me more
I agree with this. I would trash documenting a game if a player disconnects. Unless it's on death hook or something. It messes up the flow of the game too much. Survivors might stop trying, hooks don't break, etc.

Lol, I figured it out, I'm an idiot, I had the pivot set to "Count" instead of "Sum" for the number of kills. I'll edit the posts with the right numbers.
Lul. I was about to respond to your other post while I threw my calculator out the window for not understanding. Friday brain melted from work.
I'd expect the 2.7 kills per match to translate to a 68% kill rate.
-
I started playing December 2020 and have not yet taken a break. I have completed every daily since. However, I will have periods where I play way beyond my dailies versus periods like right now where I play only to complete my dailies (mostly killer ones) and half a challenge. This is maybe 15-45 minutes a day.
Since I have all survivor and killer teachable perks now, I have toned down my playing if there is no event or new killer release. This makes it so I can focus on other games.
Dead by Daylight is a great complementary-game, especially because of its ability to be played non-team based solo but also with friends. But I like to play another game regularly to maintain my sanity. Next up is Elden Ring. ๐

it fills over time like the chains, but once full, will only target the person with the box.
it also visually replaces any progress the chains have when the box is picked up.
if you play some ceno, you'll see it pretty quickly.

It should? It moves slowly, but it does charge up over time. I can't think of a situation in which the timer would halt.
Do you mean the frame itself? The cog will be static when the player is just carrying the box and rotate when they're solving the box.
I'll see if I can get a clip next time on Twitch.

yeah, if they don't solve it, they'll get chained like they normally would, but only them.
And the gold cog border would continue to fill up? Because from what I saw, it did not change. Whether in chase or solving it.

Obviously, I'm exaggerating. But she really is my least favorite killer to play against. She feels low-quality.
Other killers with ranged attacks - Trix, Slinger, Pinhead, and Executioner - feel higher quality with their ranged attacks. And I'm not talking about balance.

On a tangent I do think it would kind of interesting if they had a killer who part of their base kit is they have the third person perspective of a survivor. Personally I'd hate it, I prefer playing in first person perspective (it's one reason I'm a killer main) but there's no doubt that third person perspective is a nice tactical advantage so I imagine they'd be pretty great at finding survivors and gaming loops, etc.
That's really interesting. I was a survivor main first because I dislike first-person games. But that sounds like a cool killer idea.

Mixing it up keeps the salt levels way low.

Against bad teams, where hex totems aren't needed to sacrifice them, too long or all game.
Against average teams, it varies. And they typically do not find all 4.
Against good teams, where hexes are needed, it's like an expensive corrupt intervention. Lul.
They really should bring back Hex: Thrill of the Hunt's notification, to create more interaction and chases between killer and survivor at the totem spawn location.
For these reasons, I generally do not run hex totem builds without Hex: Undying (not all killers I own have it), because it's not fun to play a match with 1-2 perks as killer, regardless of outcome.

that's an indicator for how long the person with the box has before they get hit with chain hunts.
Hmm. Really? I'm not talking about the blue-ish chain outer-area.
I'm talking about when it's gold and someone is mid-solving the box.
When it's fully filled in, it means chain hunts are already going?

4-man SWF on comms is an automatic 4-escape every time unless you're trash. (When all this does is put you in a higher MMR tier.)
Killer is tunneling. (When hooks have been spread around decently).
I actually do play killer and survivor fairly evenly and have the playtime split and stats to prove it. But I guess not sure about others.
Lol @ your gens comment. It's sometimes 3, but yeah...5 is a lie.

@SuzuKR said:
When will people stop making me have to post this explanation from Peanits over these stupid complaints?
One, flat hatchet hitboxes DO NOT WORK.
Two, survivor hitboxes are not individualized to every single part of each survivor's body because that takes an enormous amount of computing power, and BHVR does not have the power that companies like EA do.
Three, survivor hitboxes are not individualized to every single part of each survivor's body because that would give a competitive advantage to smaller characters which is stupid.
Four, latency is literally unavoidable.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/N8NAGEGQXJX3/screenshot-20200930-232331.jpg
So what you're saying is they should rework Huntress to be a melee killer because BHVR isn't good enough. Agreed. #RemoveHatchets.

any pc account can use the chat when in a lobby/postgame
If you add them as friends they will show up on your ingame friends list, but not the steam overlay one.
Yeah, that's not what I'm asking though. OUTSIDE of group lobby, they cannot chat with you, right? In other words, if some dood that I was talking to in post-game chat friended me, I have ZERO way to communicate with them outside of a group?

@KolbyKolbyKolby said:
I think the Epic Games store version can use the in game chat feature in a lobby. You could probably exchange info there to chat on like discord if you wanted. I've also changed my steam name to my discord name+numbers (so I'd change my steam name to discord=kolberz#XXXX) when I made a console friend so they could try to reach out that way as well. A little creative ingenuity can yield results.
So they wouldn't be able to message me until we were both in a group?

@Nathan13 said:
Is MMR different for every killer or is it the same for all of them?? If I was to buy a new killer do I start at the lowest MMR on them??
Each killer has their own MMR. However, the floor of that MMR is based on your overall killer MMR. So, it's a mix.
You buying and playing Pig for the first time will not be the same as a person playing DBD killer for the first time. But it also shouldn't be the same as your best killer.
That was one of the best things about SBMM. That I got to play killers I was noob with and be matched with easier survivors. Before the change, I used to do well on killers I knew how to play and got destroyed when I played a new killer. This of course disincentivized learning new killers.
However, when survivor queues are long, matchmaking is less accurate. So it matters at what time of day you play.
@Veinslay said:
You guys remember when the devs pushed this system as a benefit for killers saying that they could play Nurse or Nemesis or some other killer they've never played before without having to play against 5k hour survivors? Hahaha
Exactly my experience. It's been fantastic. I now play 25 of the 26 killers because of it and get matched pretty well against survivors based on how good I am at that killer. The exception for this is perhaps Trickster. I do less well with him because I end up getting downs with M1 that lead to sacrifices when I'm behind which inflates my MMR. Self-inflicted wound.

So you mean to tell me... Im actually in favor of this ... that your mad when a killer body block when I've seen survivor do it to me often enough to drive me mad. This is what led me to stop playing the game for good. Im just praying BMVR will fix the body blocking issue on both sides.
And i agree with the others.... if a killer is body blocking you so much then have the rest of the suriviors to complete gen to end the game ... The match length is solely dependant on surivior to comeplete it
Body blocking a killer as a survivor is fine, allowed, risky, and good play, because a killer can hit them and then walk through them.
Body blocking a survivor as killer is not fine because the survivor literally cannot do anything.
Know the difference. And if it bothers you so much, use Starstruck. Or perhaps stopping playing the game was the right move. However, it sounds like you quit before you became good enough to deal with it.
I have never had a consistent issue with survivors doing this. Usually, it ends up poorly for them. It has like a 10-20% success rate. I love when survivors try to body block me while playing killer. Free hits.
@c0gnu5 said:
You can report that killer, but I don't think anything will be done. He didn't took the game hostage, since he was not preventing it from ending. This would be bannable if, for example, you were the only survivor left - this way he could keep you in game indefinitely
Unfortunately, I think c0gnu5 is right. I saw BHVR give a similar response a while back. Taking the game hostage only counts if there is literally no supportable way to end the match. For example, hatch closed, no exit gates open, no EGC, and blocking a survivor in a corner while leaving their home for an hour or going to sleep. In this situation, the survivor would be forced to disconnect or ALT + F4 to end the game.

Unsportmanlike to use the most appropriate strategy to win a game? You obviously do not know the definition of unsportsmanlike. Or you have never played both sides of the game. Sometimes getting someone out of the game is the only way you could possibly have a chance of winning and it's absolutely MINDLESS to go for the person with 0 hooks over the one dead on hook if you're at 1 gen left. Camping is perfectly viable strategy if you figure out you are playing against an overly altruistic team that will let go off gens and go for unhooks every single time. There's absolutely zero reason to leave the hook when nobody is on gens. That, or when the engame has already begun and you have 1 hook, so securing 1 kill is the only thing you could possibly do.
In the large picture, tunneling and camping hurts the killer against optimal survivor teams, because gens will be finished the time you manage to get a good survivor out of the game and 1k is the most you're ever gonna get. In the large scale, killers actually compromise themselves by doing these 2 things. But then again, most survivors who complain about tunneling and camping aren't good survivors to begin with, and those are the types of players that makes camping and tunneling an effective mechanic, because you literally LET the killer win the game through that and then complain about him not playing the way you want him to. Try winning by camping and tunneling against Oracle. Or any top tier SWF. If you get more than 1 hook, call me.
I can't count how many games I've been hardcore tunneled or camped and managed to buy my team just enough time to finish and escape. That's a win in my book. And a 1k is a definitely loss for the killer. So i've won all things considered. Plus, I've actually had fun being chased. It's way more fun than holding M1 and looking at a gen the whole game. Many of you just need to swallow your egos and realize that you cannot escape every single game, and if you're playing survivor, winning doesn't necessarily mean YOU escaping, but the majority of your team doing it, because ultimately it is a team game. If you manage to buy your team enough time to get a 3 man escape with the cost of you dying, be proud instead of complaining, you basically won your team the game. And if you couldn't and went down in 10 second every time, well... get better. No seriously, get better, don't blame the killer. And for real, swallow the egos.
Calling you.
Hook phases while being camped is 120 seconds. Let's assume that survivor had a (generous) 40 second chase. That's 160 seconds.
1 gen takes 80 seconds. That's not even considering travel time. Three survivors, if they ignore the camped person, will complete 3-4 gens at best in this time.
Then it's 3 v 1, which unless the killer messes up, will probably be at least one more kill. In my experience, camping usually leads to around 2.5 kills.
Your claim of 1K is false both in theory and practice.
