I feel like people just want McMillan maps copy & pasted everywhere & don't want the devs to try anything new. The 2 near infinites on the map should definitely be looked into, but the entire layout shouldn't be scrapped.
Better copy & paste good maps instead of creating bad ones.

Its probably the fairest meta build killers have ever had.
Ruin/Undying can both be cleansed.
Tinkerer is entirely controlled by the survivors to where/when it goes off.
This also takes up 3/4ths of the killer build so the killer will only ever have one un-interactive perk with this combo.
"Tinkerer is entirely controlled by the survivors to where/when it goes off." lol?

Since oni or maybe twins the killers suffered a huge downgrade in comparison to the top tier, like nemesis and trickester are the newest and the weakest of the game, and pinhead maybe is on this same way. For how long this will continue? Making weak killers just to not enrage the survivor entitled community. I am not a dev, but the lack of strong and creative powers will suddenly will dawn this game.
Lets move over the last 10 "weak" killers
- Ghostface, not amazing but definitly solid
- Demogorgon, good killer, definitly not the best but far from weak.
- Oni, arguable one of the best killer in DbD
- Deathslinger, not bad at all.
- Blight, one of the strongest killer in the game
- Twins, by many rated as a good, for some even one of the best killers
- Trickster, well i think he is okay but you can make an argument
- Nemesis, one of the weakest killers? Right in the middle, not great but also not bad.
- Pinhead, well we have to see i guess
You do make a good point about killer powers, they are recently pretty much all the same and very boring, but definitly not weak.
-
The better question is: Why is there even a breakable wall at the Dead Dawg Saloon shack?

I know plenty of players who compete just fine on native against players on 900x1080. As someone who plays on native and 1440x1080, the advantage is massively overstated by those who don't actually use stretched.
The reality, and I know people don't want to hear this, is that the default 3rd person FOV is unacceptable to many players by today's standards. The devs can fall back on "balance considerations" all they want, but the FOV was bad in 2016 and it's worse as time goes on and accessibility has become industry standard.
Its not overstated at all. There are quite a few loops where the killer can not mindgame you if you run stretch while he can if the survivor runs default. Especially every single jungle gym on autohaven becomes completly broken with strechted res. And yes, this comes also from someone who used stretched aswell.
-
What actually will happen with the perks after they remove the DLC from the store? Will they become default perks for everyone?
-
@SirGando said:
I hope they will soon. The advantage you get is insane. But they`ll just say: iT jUsT lOoKs BeTtEr
I be honest here, i tried out many stretched resolutions (only very temporary for a few games and then i switched back because i think it is indeed unfair in some scenarios - it was more for science then gameplay reason)
That it looks better is not true BUT there is something that i like a lot about stretched res: The speed. The game feels much faster then it does when you play original. I would love if something like stretched res would be in the game but without giving the killer or the survior any advantage.

I literally said I'm not doing it to stomp noob players. I get 4ks at rank one all the time but I have to sweat, use the exact same stuff over and over and its not fun at all. I want games to be more chill
You can call it however you want, but the truth is that you dont belong in lower ranks if you are able to 4K all the time at rank 1. Simple as that.
If you want chill games, then play chill and give a #########. What makes you think it is fine that weaker players should be paired with you?

Good perk, i love it.

Fix Noed, nerf Spirit!

Genspeed is fine, but some maps are simply too big.

My team and i used to give free hooks at the end if the game went really bad for the killer.
Unfortunatly many killer turned out to be ######### and started to sac people(or in some cases even let them bleed out). And then you have to read "Your problem if you trust me" in the endgame chat...
Not everyone is like that, but a good portion of them did exactly that and thats why we stoped it more or less.

Think about it,
DBD is the only game(which is why i think it's a pretty dumb game, addictive but badly designed) where you can stand still and have a high a chance of killing everyone.
Do a test and try to camp with any killer, no perks and see that you'll win many if not most of your matches just for camping a guy, watching how the other bot team mates will die trying to save him. add noed to the mix like otzdarva did and you'll 4k many of your matches.
Try to think of ONE game in the whole gaming industry, that just standing still instead of running around and trying to kill the rest of your opponents can be so rewarded.
This game is badly designed but also well designed and that's the problem with it, if it makes sense.
There are plenty of games where standing still is benefical. Camping is a thing in almost every shooter for example.

Ruin being used on Tournaments isn´t a sign of being strong. Its a sign that killers struggle with gen speed at take everything that might net them even a few more seconds.
It is an argument for beeing one of the best perk in the game. If you think this is strong might be a different story but clearly its one of the best you have available.
-
The Problem with Haddonfield are Myers House and the House of fun, both beeing available super easy and from almost everywhere. Myers house with the God window is pretty much a god loop and the house of fun combined with the porch/tree loop in between those 2 houses is also very strong.

You´re kidding... right? Hex perks being powerful? All except Devour are mediocre at best.
I dont think that every Hex is worth beeing a hex or very powerful, but Ruin is definitly the best Hex and possible still one if not the best killer perk. Even on tournament level its quite standard.

Only played this game for less than a month and I tried the game as a Survivor and Killer. I couldn't wrap my head around the ease of playing Survivor against 1 Killer. My first public game ( outside of the Tutorial ) went so fast I barely got a sense of what was going on. After a few sessions, I switched to the Killer and have been experimenting with different ones to find the one I like most.
But to discover which Killer I want to lose with, I need a game that lasts more than 3 minutes. Is the game more fun as a Survivor doing Gen Rush ( rinse and repeat ) ?
It's a serious question: If you play DBD to Gen Rush, please tell me why ?
It's a serious question: If you play DBD to Gen Rush, please tell me why ?
I "gen rush" because what else is there to do if i am not getting chased and no other teammate needs my help?
Advanced survivors know when to do gens and advanced killer know how to pressure them off.
It is not the survivors fault when they can do gens in peace, its the killer who is unable to stop them. Here is my serious question: What are they supposed to do in your opinion? Wandering around, marvel the enviroment?

I love Blight, the only thing devs should look into are his strongest addons, specifically rushspeed. They are somewhat broken, but basekit is fine imo

Currently the only thread on the first page related to one killer is called "Blight mains! One of the hardest killer to learn... respect!"

Not toxic at all but if you run this as the Doctor on a map like The Game against new players, you might revieve some hate tho.

I like Myers concept, its unique and extremly fun to play and verse, but you are right, he feels outdated and also weak.
It takes to long to gain tier 2 and his tier 3 is not that scary 2bh.
Changes
- Stalk capacitiy should reset after tier 3. With that i mean after tier 3 every survivor is fully stalkable again.
- Tier 2 should not take that long to gain.
- Distance stalking is fine in my opinion, but they should buff it significantly, when he is close up.
- Make tier 3 a bit more powerful. Give him a build in Brutal Strenght so he can get rid of pallets quicker.

But....there is nothing to disagree about... This literally happened in the past and it was abused. Like this isn't something where we can agree to disagree on like whether or not we think the Marvel movies are good or bad, this is something that actually happened in the past. Like I don't know what to tell you, I'm not a magician, I can't make the past go away so that I can agree with you. I'm sorry but this just won't work based on past behavior with a similar enough system.
Cant remember a single moment in this game where something like this was implimented. They played around with the idea that the survivor is not dying on the hook if the killer camps, but that can not be compared at all.
The benefit of it would have been huge, but in my scenario, the benefit is 5% and therefore WAY to little to force the killer to stay by the hook. You know, it takes at least one person doing nothing to gain 5% on a gen. Simple math that 3 survivors on gens is more effective then 2 (or even 1 if the one is going for the save).
Agree to disagree, lets move on.

You say that playing around hook is a dumb thing to do but that is LITERALLY what the survivors did in the past that made BHVR say nope to their own mechanic. Like I'm sorry but that is a fact, and you thinking it's a dumb thing to do doesn't negate the fact that this is what happened and it happened to a point where it became a problem. This "fix" that you are offering is again very similar to what BHVR themselves tried to do, only you are giving survivors a buff rather than stopping a hook state and just like in the past, survivors will find a way to exploit the hell out of this mechanic.
I guess we have to agree that we disagree here. Swarming the hook is in my book not benefical at all and 5% wont make it. As killer this is one of those free win games that end very fast in a 4K. Smart survivors sit on gens and dont hold the killer busy next to the hook but that is just my opinion.

Ok, you're coming from the side of a killer camping 2 or 3 hooks at once. I'm coming at this from what the average experience will be like, because again survivors abused a similar system way back. Now follow me here:
Killer downs 1 survivor. Killer hooks survivor. Killer plays like normal to look for more survivors. Survivor comes and makes obvious attempt to go for unhook. Kill goes back for them. Survivor then proceeds to loop and run close to the hook, giving the other two survivors a gen speed buff on top of whatever items/perks they may have.
Now you may ask, well why doesn't the killer just walk away from the hook? Because that would ruin any sort of pressure building. Why would you force a player choose between letting survivors get a free unhook, or giving all survivors a repair boost? That's not in any way fair.
Now let me paint you another scenario. Say the survivor gets the unhook and the killer goes after the unhooker, downs hooks them. Now say the recently unhooked has resilience. If one of the other survivors comes and decides to do the same thing, running the killer around the hook, you have now given that recently injured survivor a free prove thyself bonus on top of everything else they're running.
Plus when you consider SWF as being a thing in the game, this system could be exploited even MORE with them communicating with each other.
So again, no this would not work. Survivors have shown in the past that they abuse mechanics like this and that is why such mechanics are not in the game. Survivors literally ruined anything like this from ever being implemented for themselves.
Again: Swarming a hook or looping around it is the by far dumbest thing survivors can do, period. There is zero room for discussion. If you really think looping around a hook is any beneficial for surviviors, we might have a completly different understanding of the game.
Now you may ask, well why doesn't the killer just walk away from the hook? Because that would ruin any sort of pressure building. Why would you force a player choose between letting survivors get a free unhook, or giving all survivors a repair boost? That's not in any way fair.
I would never ask that, because it is plain stupid to leave the hook as a killer when a survivor is looping around it. Thats the point you somehow miss. It is a great benefit for the killer, he is slapping 2 flys with one clap.
If they keep doing this, they loose. My experience as a killer and survivor is that all you discribe is very ineffective and a deathwish. I only see those playstyle against super alturistic survivors or if they troll. We are talking here about 5% for throwing the game just to gain those 5%.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2457286#Comment_2457286
That person isn't thinking clearly about the different variables on how this would be abused. 5% bonus to gens already shaves off 4 seconds from completing it, and that's not counting perks or items. Now combine that 5% buff with a perk like resilience that gives you a 9% bonus on gens if you're injured and you essentially have given all survivors a bonus equivalent to prove thyself without them needing to have more than 1 person on the gen. Again you combine that with other perks and add-ons and yeah no, this is too easy to exploit and abuse.
There is no abuse at all, just think about it. Those 5% are absolutly meaningless when you can "abuse" those 5% by looping around the hook. How is 5% worth 2 survivors inactive? Possible 3, because the 3rd can not go for the unhook.
Its a streight up anti facecamp build, thats all it is.
-
@Marik13 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2456903#Comment_2456903
BHVR tested out a very similar thing early on in the game where if the killer was standing near the hook it would pause whatever hook state the survivor was in. Survivors abused this by purposefully looping the killer around the hooks. Your idea would be the same, only it would then buff the survivors on top of that. So no, that's a terrible idea.
Okay i am aware of that and this is definitly absuable, but how is a 5% buff for totems and gens when the killer stays next to the hook abusable? The survivor is still dying. The dumbest thing a survivor can possible do is looping next to the hook so the remaining survivors cant unhook.
Or to quote Junylar:
"You don't even see that three free survivors are more efficient than two survivors with a single digit percent boost, so nobody will do what you just described on purpose."

This idea is even worse than the original thing that BHVR themselves tried by stopping hook progression. So essentially you'd be asking for survivors to abuse this system in order to give themselves a buff.... yeah no.
Abuse? Please explain how to abuse this.
-
Gen Speed is fine
Map size is (sometimes) not
RNG is a problem aswell. Sometimes way to many pallets, sometimes way to less.
-
It really depends, but i do give the sacrificy every now and then, especially when i had the feeling the killer had a tough match (bad rng, clicky clicky teammates etc)
When i play in a team and the killer did not get (m)any hooks, we often used to give the killer some free hooks at the end of the game... but that backfired a few times already so we reduced that.

The answer is that the Doctor is supposed to play in such a way that actively progresses the game forward and does not hold the game hostage. If that means leaving a 3-gen to look for Survivors who are not around, then that is what it means.
"If the doctors is defending his gens by not leaving the gens (hitting or shocking survivors "away") it can drag out the game for ages."
This right here is enough foe the Doc to be guilty.
And who exactly is this being hypocritical toward? The doctor or the Survivors? Neither side is allowed to hold the game hostage.
"If the doctors is defending his gens by not leaving the gens (hitting or shocking survivors "away") it can drag out the game for ages."
This right here is enough foe the Doc to be guilty.
Thats exactly what i mean. A rule which would not allow the Killer to play the game (in our opinion or not is irrelevant) optimal should not excist in first place.
I am personally against draging out the game and hiding or camping a 3 gen is not fun in general, but it is still playing the game. In every scenario we talk about, the other side has the possibility to end the game. If the survivors play it good they can overwhelm the killer very fast and if the killer knows what he is doing, hiding wont help for that long.
@Pukenplag said:

3 gens aren't bannable. Survivors hiding and not doing gens is because they don't gain any advantage in doing so. They prolongue the game up to an unlimited amount without a strategical reason behind.
Having a 3 gen and only defending them should then also be bannable. If there is a strategic reason behind it or not is completly irrelevant aswell, since it is subjective. Some survivors in the lower ranks might actually be even so scared they dont touch a gen. A friend of mine told me about his first games and he and his friends were so scared, they were not doing a single gen the first 20 minutes. Do they deserve a ban? If no because they are new to the game, how to even define or proof that this was purpose or not?
Anyway, the devs handle this as they want and like i said, situations like this are so rare, this game has probably much bigger problems.
Kind regards

If the Doctor is actively not trying to advance the game, then the Doctor is holding the game hostage. Same goes for Survivors.
That is not answering the question. If the doctors is defending his gens by not leaving the gens (hitting or shocking survivors "away") it can drag out the game for ages. He is not activly hunting them down because if he would, he might loose the game. So it is a stalement pretty much. I had this situation where we were in a 3gen, ruin was up and the killer just defended.
I know this is very unusual, but looking at the survivor hiding example, its prettty much the same. They might not touch the gens (the doctor is not chasing the survivors) and they might drag the game out as long as possible (so is the doctor in our example) but one thing is a strategy, the other thing is bannable.
Whatever, its not a big problem anyway so i guess we a discussing here for the sake of discussing, but i find something like this a bit hypocritialy and biased.

It is as long as the Doctor is trying to actually find the Survivors in the meantime. If the doc is just sitting there and making zero effort in finding them, that is hostage holding on the Killer's part.
Yes but this can be claimed for pretty much everything then. The Doctor is protecting the gens and the best strategy would be to not leave his gens. Is the Doctor now forced to play suboptimal because its against these questionable rules?
-
@TAG said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2455229#Comment_2455229
Because slugging is guaranteed to result in death in four minutes if left alone. Hiding is indefinite.
So lets assume the survivors have 3 gened themselve in a difficult spot, Ruin is still up and in between the generators and the killer who is the doctor is sucessfully defending the gens for a long time. Is this a valid strategy? Many will claim it is, since he is activly playing the game. But it is pretty much the same what the survivors are doing by hiding. Both paticiapte in the most passive way possible and both sides can drag out the game for a very long time period.

Mods have already explained it: The Survivors can be punished if they are holding the game up for an extremely long time by spending all their time hiding and making zero effort to do gens (provided that the Killer is actually making an effort to find them).
Makes no sense at all, but okay. When a killer is slugging them to death its fine but when survivors hide its not. Strange rules.
Its either all or nothing.

Camping/slugging/tunneling is not holding the game hostage, which is the rule that is broken when all Survivors stop doing gens and hide indefinitely.
Why is that? They are playing the game, they are not holding the game hostage at all. The killer still can find and kill them.
@Junylar said:
- "Is camping/slugging/tunneling bannable?"
