His setup time punishes him and I'd think that the hitbox of a trap is too small, punishing Trappers if they cannot place their traps pixel perfect.. by allowing survivors to simply run past time.
While I still believe that Trapper should have a setup time because the traps themselves ARE a huge threat, I'd like to see Trapper receive QoL buffs where he can (for example) reset traps without having to pick them up first. Every second counts.

I don't know, back when I was playing originally the Devs talked to us. They even had weekly streams talking about the game and changes and concerns. I quit 6 months ago. I came back for the Rift but everything's changed the community is largely uncritical and hostile towards anyone with concerns about anything. The Devs seem to have ended all communication with the players.
It's not what it was.
I remember those times, yeah. Been a loooong time since.
-
What did you expect?
-
Hillybilly, Hag, Huntress and Freddy. Hard to say who's the best but all of them are good.
-
She just stands there and makes jump scares. That's not killer material.

I just want lower Tier killers to be buffed.
As for Nurse changes, i've tried to tell people my reasoning till i'm blue in the face. Just play the game and try to have fun. If you don't then leave it for a while.
This would be the correct way to fix things.. instead of nerfing the good killers.. we buff the bad ones. Creates diversity and variation in all ranks.

It does, more people playin because it is a good game thus more people buyin dlc&outfits.
Instead you have to answer questions like " How to change resolution?".
Clearly it doesn't, though. Otherwise we'd have seen changes done by the developers towards that goal, wouldn't we?
-
We'll Make It, all the way.
-
The ragequitting is a symptom of extremely poor game design. That, and bad development priorities overall.
If we had something to promote people ranking up and staying there, playing games for their full length and other common sense stuff, there wouldn't be as much ragequitting as there currently is.
-
There's a few good ones, for sure. Although, I think We'll Make It is the best out of them.

I've closed the chat window permanently, due to stuff like this. I'd advice others to do the same.

If a killer hits you right away after hooking you, its probably to cancel the loud screaming every survivor do when they get hooked.
If they hit you continiously and there's more than you left in the trial, they're probably salty as #########.
Hitting the last survivor on the hook is basically just a "please die already damnit" thing.

I think thats not true, a unbalanced game means more people leaving/quitting.
Less people playing the game / talking about the game means less incomes on DLC's and cosmectics. So i think it kinda does, they just don't see it that way.
You're seemingly wrong, as we're seeing. There's not even basic things like rank rewards in the game yet.. yet skins come out per automation more or less every other week.
-
Fixing the game doesn't generate revenue.
-
It'd be too powerful to have a perk that actively inflict Exhaustion on hits. It'd literally nullify Dead Hard.
-
Made a threat regarding this back in June. I am sure there's been threads regarding it since before mine. I am not sure why it wasn't implemented to begin with.

There's not that many killers left that's missing a Hallowed Blight skin, most of them are licensed.

Make the base game free to play then. Problem solved.
Making it free would invite all the hackers and other filth with open arms. I rather it have a cost to be honest.

New add-ons are fine. They needed change but the changes to her base-kit was unwarranted.
-
I used to but there's literally no point in it.
-
PGTW is an awesome perk to use. Whenever you use it, you burn away 20 seconds of progress in an instant.
-
This level of stupidity is why I've closed my chat window and will never open it again.
-
In Europe its illegal to have something on sale when it haven't been sold for its full price for a period first. Fallout 76 suffered from this, when they put a shitload of garbage on the macro-transaction store and they ended up facing threats of lawsuits.
Anyway, its a very common strategy. Everything's priced in a way to force you to buy more Cells than you need to get something.. then get pressured into spending more since you have a few left.
10 euro for a virtual skin is insane to begin with. I don't know why people are defending it.
-
All aura perks should work the same. Survivors already have this going for them with their aura perks.. so why not the killer as well?

Bhvr has shareholders that want a certain profit to be made and the battle pass is a way of satisfying said shareholders. Even if its scummy which it is they are beholden to these people
Now, I ain't no economic person, but wouldn't it makes sense that they'd earn more money in the long run by being less scummy? Happy players make happy customers?

At least it happens a week BEFORE the Halloween event.

I'm just saying, nobody knows how long this will actually take.
On top of that, all of this is based on the math of one person, who uses a variable in said math, that being how long a game would last in order to calculate the total required hours to gain all rift fragments, and he didn't even write down his mathematical process of reaching the amount he has obtained. I'm not saying he's wrong per sé, but banking on this alone to make an assumption such as "it'll be impossible to achieve if you don't do X" is just a little far-fetched.
Also add the fact that The Rift is still in its PTB phase, and will still take a couple weeks before it'll see implementation in the live environment, so a lot of things may, or may not, still change.
There's also the fact that this is still the first "battle pass" to be brought into the game, which means that there is still the need to learn for everyone, especially the developers, on what is a good middle ground to make The Rift rewards obtainable my most players whilst still requiring the player to dedicate some time to the game.
And let's not forget that buying the "Premium Track" is entirely optional. In fact, it is entirely possible for you, the player, to not buy the Premium Track, play the game and level your Rift progress, and then buy the Premium Track when YOU are satisfied with the rewards you'll obtain from it, if at all.
Some games don't allow you that freedom (Fortnite), because those games require you to have purchased the pass in order to make the most progress possible. This isn't the case in DbD.
TL;DR:
- The Rift is still in PTB, changes are still possible.
- The Rift is rather non-predatory, as the player can level the pass in advance before deciding to buy the Premium Track, and this is no secret. The Premium Track also doesn't feature "XP boosts" like other games have to encourage buying it before the end to "level it up faster".
- This is the first iteration of The Rift, it's entirely possible the devs are still looking for a good middle-ground to make The Rift accessible to all whilst still requiring some dedication and effort from players to complete.
- Companies need to make money. The Rift having a price shouldn't be surprising, and is still amongst the better value-for-money additions to the game compared to single cosmetic sets costing equally as much.
- All these assumptions are based on the calculations of one guy, that didn't list his mathematical process, and that was made during a time in which The Rift was still in a "beta", meaning that any future changes will make this entirely irrelevant.
So, as with all things: Don't rant. Don't get upset over it. Give your feedback regarding your concerns about The Rift to the devs in the therefore designated forum category (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/3-3-0-ptb-gameplay-feedback), and wait and see if they make changes. Give The Rift its chance to be implemented in a way that will be benefitial to all.
Sorry to burst your bubble but the devs have a horrendous track record when it comes to them changing things for the better following a PTB. Its mostly just a hype generator. A free taste of new content, if you will.
-
It sounds like you're fairly new to this game.
-
People are speaking out because they're passionate about Dead by Daylight. That, and that Nurse is one of the few actual power roles in the game.
-
You should check out Not Otzdarva's content on Youtube. He does a lot of Trapper stuff and is very educational.
-
Its made to borderline force you to spend money to buy the pass itself and its tiers. What did you expect? Customer-centric business decisions?

I tried to tell them this but instead they decided to make archives...
People wanted lore.
Someone saw a chance for a Battle Pass.
Magic happened.
-
I am going to have to agree with you. Increasing each category's cap with 2k (and perhaps fiddle around with scoring events to help compensate for the increased cap) wouldn't cause much harm.
Not sure how harmful it'd be to the game, however. Its well known that the game's code is fragile and even minuscule changes can break everything.
Perhaps reworking the BP offerings to reward more BP overall (by changing all offerings to behave more like Pudding/Cake/Bloody Party Streamers) would be the easier way to go?
-
Their focus on adding more ways to squeeze money out of their players show exactly how much they actually care about their own game. Where's the common sense stuff like Rank rewards?
-
I watch a bunch; Noob3, Monto, Puppers, Farmer John, Otzdarva, Ardetha, Zubat, Ohtofu, Scott Lund, Fungoose, HybridPanda and Truetalent.
Its very calming to listen to them play while working.
-
TL;DR
If BHVR showed that they put gameplay health on top of their priority list, rather than money-making content (DLC/Rift), then I would definitely buy the Rift as a show of support to them and their business practices. This is not the case with the DBD team currently; they are more concerned with making money than ensuring the gameplay is at a high standard, and the bugs are fixed at a reasonable timeframe. They have shown their priorities and what they will continue to do with our money, and that is something I cannot support anymore.
This. We've been asking for simple stuff like Rank rewards since the very moment the first player went Rank 1 back in the day. Devotion was added but its basically useless, as the shard gain is too low and unrewarding.
Behavior's not exactly doing much to earn our respect.
-
You'd think it was a priority but rank rewards have been missing since release.
-
You'll have to wait until the pickup animation has ended before the stun's registered.
-
Gonna vote Yes because Dedicated Servers ARE better than P2P.
That said, it is very frustrating in how hard it seems to be for them to get their game to work with Dedicated Servers. Their game literally breaks under them. How is this even possible?
-
70-80 / 30-20 survivor, sadly. I'd love to play more killer but its very stressful to me.
-
T1 Myers. There's something about him.
-
I really don't like it. While its not as bad as most Battle Passes out there, its still just a company reacting to another company making a lot of money and wanting to copy them.
The game's in shambles but at least you can spend money in more ways to get even more cosmetics. That's progress, right?
-
People definitely will purchase all 70 levels of a Battle Pass without hesitation.
And why..? That's not a question I can answer.

It would be nice if you could disable the chat at all in the settings.
Its actually super easy. Just go into a survivor lobby and close the chat window here, leave the lobby and go killer. It'll remain closed until you press the two arrows again to open it up.
But I agree. Permanently closing it via settings would be preferred. Also disabling the chat for survivors if the killer have their chat disabled would be even better.
@Peanits That's something you could bring up! Survivors shouldn't be able to chat if the killer has closed their chat window.
-
You ignore most of the community for not saying that almost 100% of the community is ignored and you do what you want, do you think that with the launch of Stranger Things, most of the community will be happy? Do not fool yourself, we want a fun game for both of you, not a game CHAOS, where the survivors pass over the killers, they are rushed and ... you put the miserable excuse that .. COMMITTED FAULTS, you don't want to fix your game, I don't think you are capable in 4 years. Nor that you are able to take it longer.
The upcoming wave of new ST fans that's gonna start playing DbD to experience their favorite series in a game are all going to have an amazing time, getting bullied, trolled and stomped by derankers and other filth that intentionally remain up there for easy games.
This could be mitigated somewhat by having stuff like Rank rewards, Devotion rewards, more BP gain over (to motivate longer games and therefore higher chance for a rank up) and increased shard-gain (so players feel enticed to play more).
But nah. Skins, battle-passes and DLCs are the focus. As long as everyone's behaving like good cattle, there's no point in actually improving the game.

There have been wishes for a rank reward SINCE THE LAUNCH OF THE GAME. Since the very first player reached rank 1 and realized they got nothing but a soddy achievement after the rank reset.
There wouldn't be such a crappy distribution of ranks every game if there was rank rewards because it'd motivate people to actually rank up.. instead of being low ranked and trolling newbies.
But Behavior have their priorities. More and more content. Skins, battle passes and cosmetics. Money, money and money. Doing something that makes sense in every other game that have a ranking system? Doesn't generate revenue, not important.

Then they would have nothing to post on the forums. Feels like many killers have a martyr complex or whatever.
I personally don't believe it to be healthy to be constantly talked down to and threatened. It reaches a point where you become the thing you hate.

Lol.
Balance the game around the 1% of Survivors, but please don’t balance the Killers around the top 1% 😊.
Here’s the chart if anyone wants to see what actually playing solo at R1 is like :

Nice details! Was fun checking through.
Seeing how Ruin has almost a 90% usage.. something's definitely wrong.
