then how about GIVE THEM TIME TO FIX IT INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING?
Seriously man, you are being really judgmental You get upset cause something is delayed then get bad cause things have bugs but come out sooner. Pick one.
Keeping silent means you approve of everything that's happening.
-
Rather this than having newbie killers suffer the abuse of a high rank SWF squad looking for easy kills.
-
If you count by playtime, I guess I'd be a Survivor Main but I honestly see myself more as a Killer main. Cannot handle the stress and frustration too well.
-
I play on PC and I've disabled the end-game chat and made it impossible for random people to leave comments on my profile.
Maybe you should disable messages on your console to save yourself some sanity?

I remember a good portion of KND. I only remember the real name of one of them, Cookie/Numba 3. Haha!
I only remember that Nr 1 was bald. Why the ######### was a kid that young bald?

I miss the old livestreams, where they actually talked to us.

This is what i don't get. Everyone was yelling about how hard the challenges were, now that the Devs have feedback to change them and might be taking time to fix it, EVERYONE GETS MAD AT THEM FOR THE DELAY! "Oh they just want money." or crap like that. Why are people so judgmental?
There has been so much monetization going on in the game lately, with the game itself deteriorating with every single update.. thanks to new bugs, glitches and broken mechanics.
Meanwhile, Dedicated Servers proved to be malfunctioning mess with rubber-banding galore and other weirdness. There's still not ETA for stuff like Rank Rewards, which has been asked for since the release of the game.

I just hope the event won’t take me too many hours complete it.
You'll have to grind the free track on the rift to get the vials for unlocking Halloween skins. No one knows how bad it'll be.
-
Codename: Kids Next Door, Pokémon, Rocko's Modern Life, lots of various Cartoon Network stuff overall.
-
You are aware that they've locked ARchive progress behind time-gates, right? The only reason they've done that is so people cannot unlock the entire Archive (and therefore the Tomes) in short succession. Unlocking the entirety of the Archives early would save you frustration when it comes to Rift progression and that's a net loss for the developers, who're banking on you giving in and buying tiers for AC.

Yeah pretty sure everything’s delayed till the mid chapter, which worries me even more bc that means we’ll be getting the Halloween event, the nurse, and the rift and archives all at once.. which means even more bugs to be ready for.
The more the merrier. Heh. Don't worry though! If there's something absolutely game-breaking in there on release, you can still buy all the tiers of the rift for 70 euro.

Bhvr, what is wrong with you guys?
#########'s bound to happen occasionally. I'd love to know what these "unforeseen circumstances" are, though. Last time I checked, its not the first time they've done an event like this.
-
Looks like the Halloween update has been delayed?
I wonder if the Archives and such are delayed too, then? Shame that they aren't telling anyone why stuff's delayed. Would be fun to know why.

Please go find a video of Torulf Jernström's Let's Go Whaling TED Talk thing, and stop being such a Mark.
Seriously, if you're still using these same arguments after you've watched a Mobile Game CEO explain how to get his player base into believing these, to get the most amount of money out of people, you're just as bad as someone trying to explain how Magic Tricks are real, after watching all four Masked Magician Specials.
I've seen those videos, thanks to youtubers like Jim Sterling putting them to the light. Its part why I am so cynical, together with me being an "old" gamer.. having grown up playing games where games were made with a soul.

Not really. It makes sense to me. I've even bought a few of them.

It will definitely take you quite a while if you decide not to do the challenges. You would be skipping the main way to progress through The Rift. At that point, you're opting not to progress as fast as you could be. It'd be like playing one of the old event hook/generator events and not trying to go for the marked hooks/generators or using an offering. You'll still progress, just way slower than if you had tried to complete it.
Good thing there's time-gates in place to stop us from doing challenges. And that there's challenges in there designed to be too hard to complete.
-
I'll never be excited to stuff in games that requires me to open up my wallet in order to have the full experience.

I mean, it's not impossible to do but keep in mind that salty survivors will probably dc on purpose to stop you from completing the challenge.
The true Dead by Daylight experience. One side DC'ing to rob you of progress.

This, the free option is a good bonus. If you don’t wanna spend money all you miss out on is cosmetics, which if you don’t wanna spend money you really won’t get anyways. People will just always find a way to complain and be offended when companies try to GASP make money
The free option might as well not provide anything. Have you seen how little you actually get?
As for companies wanting to make money. None of us here are stupid, you know. There's just that most believe that a company can make money AND being customer-centric at the same time. Behavior's going straight for the jugular, metaphorically.

I already hate the idea of a "battle pass" It's literally a lazy way to keep people playing your game because you can't find any other way to keep people invested. Not only that but it's also going to be effecting everyone because we'll have a ton of people going around doing challenges probably farming for them.
We still don't have rank rewards and that's something we've been asking for since the release of the game, that's already three years behind us. The battle pass is just another way to monetize an already over-monetized playerbase while adding little to no new value to the game.

Not true. Clown was buffed during PTB. Spirit received changes between PTB and release in an "unfinished" state. (I can remember something that took time until the MidChapter-patch which was planned for release). Plague and Ghostface received changes at release and Demogorgon got changes, which they delivered shortly after the release with a hotfix, but was also planned based on PTB feedback. And that's only talking about killer changes. Perks received changes compared to their PTB version as well.
They clearly use PTBs to get some feedback and change stuff based on it to some degree. Wouldn't deny that.
Clown's still considered one of the worst killers in the game, due to non-existent map pressure. His gas doesn't bring enough to the table to compensate for that.

Mainly Trapper, Clown and Legion at the moment
Clown is notoriously bad at defending generators.
Trapper struggles at defending generators outside of a 3-gen strategy.
Legion can barely kill anyone to begin with but he can slow the game down, at least.
-
Why Killer are you playing with?

@Fibijean said:
At this point, I'm betting they're going to leave it unchanged from the PTB, either because they didn't have time to make the necessary changes or because they decided that the players who gave feedback were wrong in some way.
I think people are going to get upset over it for the same reasons as they did in the PTB, and it's either going to go unchanged still and eventually the community will lapse into angry silence over it, OR it will eventually be changed in response to feedback and then there will be a fresh wave of outrage from those who struggled through the Archives before changes were implemented, now demanding compensation.
Either way, there's going to be a lot of unhappy players. While I understand there may be good reasons for it, I can't help but think a lot of this storm of speculation and outrage could have been avoided with a bit more communication from the team.
At one point during a PTB, the developers mentioned that they took all feedback "with a huge grain of salt". I don't recall if it was during Legion's, Spirit's or the Plague's PTB. I only remember that borderline nothing was done following the PTB, thus giving everyone the feeling that nothing we said mattered.

Yeah, I already guessed they would make it harder to complete the rift fully when I heard about it.
I know people have mouths to feed and bills to pay so I don't mind 'supporting' games I enjoy by buying cosmetics or dlc's. That's a personal choice, each to their own but this, to me, is almost a shameless, obvious cash grabber. Especially since they have been so quiet about it after concerns were raised. No offence, the 'rewards' aren't worth it for me but maybe some rifts and items will be worth it so here's my plan...
I'm going to take the advice of many others and test the waters first. I'll see how far into the rift I can get on the free track this time around. I play most evenings (what I would call 'fairly' normal) so would imagine a fair amount. IMAGINE being the key word. I have a feeling if enough people also do this and it turns out the grind is, for most, unrealistic the devs may be forced to change the difficulty? Who knows.
As it looks right now, everything in regards to the Archive and Rift are designed with maximum frustration in mind. That they stated that it'd take 70-80 hours tops to fully complete a rift, based on their own data.. it doesn't feel realistic. Not with the current queue times and ridiculous challenge mechanics in place to hinder progress.
-
I'd never wanna go back there. The old DS was such bullshit.
-
Clown primarily, but also Trapper and Doctor.
-
Cannot go wrong with a medkit.

Probably cause console releases weren't a thing they thought of when making this game.
They didn't expect this to have this many consistent players, so they also were fine with just using P2P.
Bringing the game to consoles was a mistake, if you ask me. I can see why they did it though, even in the game's utterly awful state. More players means more money.

I feel like with the challenge system it's going to be a lot more difficult.
The second survivors realise what you're doing they're going to keep their ass away from that basement.
Even if if you managed to to kill three people in the basement that last person is probably just going to wait for hatch. Hell if you managed to close hatch before they get to it then there's nothing stopping the survivor from just still staying away from basement just to spite you so you don't get the challenge.
It's something survivors already do for example if they're going up against the Michael trying to get the evil incarnate achievement most of them would rather take a hook death or endgame collapse death than give you the mori even if they were guaranteed the loss anyway
Its enough that someone feels like the game ain't going their way and DCs, that's that right there. Waaay too many variables required to match in order for a challenge to be completed. Unreliable as #########. Shouldn't be a thing.

@ASurvkillivorer said:
Is there a list of these challenges anywhere?
I was hoping more for challenges based on playing certain killers or performing actions. 4 basement kills in 1 game doesn't sound so nice.
On the wiki, there's a list of the first tier of challenges. None of them are bad. However, there's still 3 more tiers (four in total) that's not shown on the wiki yet.
-
When I am being farmed by a survivor/killer friend duo, or when I get stuck somewhere.. that's the only reasons why I will disconnect from a game. Either are basically so rare, that it might as well be Never.
-
@FriendlyGuy said:
I think they made it possible to complete the rift. Challenges like 4 basement hooks are maybe possible in a farming round with sum friendly survivor m8ts.
Nothing like having to rely on a rare circumstance, where survivors are willing to farm with you AND let you kill them all in the basement, in order to complete an obscure challenge. Its not a challenge at that point.
-
Nurse mains who weren't carried by mega blinks will do just as fine as before.
-
Spirit. There's a lot of power (and good perks) in her DLC.
-
Other survivors as a greeting. That's it. I'd never t-bag the killer or other survivors as a taunt because that's unsportsmanlike as #########.
-
As a survivor, escaping is a mission complete.
As a killer.. I'd just prefer to get a 4 stack on BBQ. I don't care if I kill none or all four survivors, as long as I had a fun game.

I was disappointed as well. I was expecting them to go over some feedback or tell us about up coming changes. That's what happens when I hype myself up. :/
Reminds me of that Q&A they had a while ago. The actual relevant questions asked weren't answered. They've not had a good livestream in forever.
-
They want you to play with their new gimmick and hopefully get hooked into buying a premium track and perhaps all the tiers as well.
-
I honestly cannot be bothered with the new cosmetics. They cost too much.
-
I also remember back when they said that they're looking into making Rank Rewards a thing. But that was like.. over 3 years ago.
-
Been trying to play without Ruin for a while now.. with mixed results.. and I've been relying on PGTW instead.
-
I don't like being slugged but I understand why killers do it, so I don't mind most of the time. If I don't feel like getting slugged, I'll put on anti-slugging perks to counter it.
-
I'd love to consider myself a Killer main but I do play much more Survivor overall. Less stressful and more fun, even in solo.
-
I'd just prefer it if the developers stop breaking the audio each and every update.
-
You need to play with your food.
-
I prefer it over the 20+ minute hostage situations that happened way too often before.
-
They're a worthless gimmick.
