Funny this question popped up. I actually faced two Clowns this evening, which admittedly doesn't happen often.
And how did it go for these two Clowns?
-
It used to be like this on new cosmetics. But I guess Behavior have abandoned the practice, since it didn't generate enough revenue to be worthwhile.

Didn't the Devs say they only wanted the game to last 10 years?
At the rate the game's printing money, I doubt they'd abandon it for a sequel with none of the licenses or anything.

I'd also like to see the RNG removed from escaping a Bear Trap. Make it more of a progression thing similar to searching a Jigsaw Box.
While it'd be a buff in some aspects, it'd be a nerf in others.
Surely you've experienced failing 20+ attempts to escape a trap when the Trapper himself used no add-ons whatsoever. You've also probably experienced a survivor escaping on the first attempt even when you used double "harder to escape" add-ons..
-
Apart from increasing the amount of base traps he can carry, the only real buff that the Trapper needs is a way to reset his traps without picking them up first.
Having traps magically pop into his inventory doesn't make much sense.

I have noted it and will share it with the team, but I doubt it would be something that could change in time for the next update. Changing text is harder than it seems. We can change the English (and even French) text very easily, but every other language would need to be sent off for localization.
Since it'd improve the new player experience, it should be a priority. Less misunderstandings mean less frustration.

You can improve his chase game all you want, that still isn't going to fix his main issue, that being a lack of map presence. The "Jack in the Generator" could give him a little help when it comes to slowing the game down, while also making him a bit more dangerous to face when the generators start popping.
Gas doesn't do ######### if the Clown is there to capitalize on it. If anything, your idea of Jack will just make survivors pop the trap and just afk the duration of the blocked generator. The gas itself won't scare them off. If a trap triggers on the other side of the map you cannot capitalize on it and thus, you've wasted time setting it up.
No, let him cut down chases even faster and generate map pressure that way.

They said they were looking for improving the new player experience, and this is definetly something that would do.
Heh. If they worried about the new player experience they'd do something to motivate people to climb the ranks instead of deranking and smurfing around in the lower ranks.
It has been an issue for the longest of times so I doubt a change won't come anytime soon.. or anytime at all. No.. Behavior cares only about money. You're only worth a damn as a player if you're willing to open up your wallet and buy some cosmetics.

Bbq and chillie is overrated. It gives a nice bp bonus and reveals survs, but if you're good enough at the game, then finding survs isn't a hard thing to do, thus the perk can be replaced by another such as monitor & abuse on mm for example. Ruin just gets insta destroyed so just put franklins demise or sloppy butcher in the game as time consumers and the rest is up to you. If you want to slow down even more, then go thanatophobia.
If you wanna focus on getting Bloodpoints fast, BBQ is one of the best perks out there since it potentially DOUBLES all BP gain from there on.
-
It won't have any impact on the trial itself and it won't help the Clown in any sort of way.
-
To be fair, if 'I' were to burn an ebony in order to complete a daily (which is the only time I use them) and the survivors burnt four streamers.. I'd not mori anyone.

Do you have any better idea that wouldn't break The Clown's concept completely?
Shall he roll up in a ball and roll across the map at ultra speed?
Since everything the Clown got for himself are his bottles of gas, then that's what should be focused on. Improving those that extra step, so his chase game gets even better.
-
Not really. I'd be excited for Demogorgon but it kinda looks like it'd be just another let down. So, eh.

Never say never. It only took like 3 years to do something about DS! Doing something as important as updated animations could take.. I dunno. A decade perhaps?

I've closed the chat and I'll never open it again.

You're suggesting that a killer with literally no map pressure should waste time on a generator based trap that'd not do anything in the long run?
I mean, its a cool idea and all but the Clown still have to waddle all across the map to get to a triggered trap and if you cannot find anyone straight away, there was literally no point in going there in the first place.
-
Sure, if the developers add a lock on emotes. If you use an emote, the entire animation should play to its completion, so you cannot use it for BMs.
-
Legion, followed by Clown.

Yes I was thinking the same, my only point was that it seems that getting it via shrine would require much more work, no?
If you own Hag, just level her up so that you get Ruin as a teachable.
If you don't own Hag, then buy the perk from the shrine with shards.
-
You cannot possibly be serious with this?

It'd be nice.

If regular chapters cost $7 then that's $3.50 per character. Technically the killer should cost more since its got a power. The "reskins" will be different colored shirts. That takes no effort so it shouldn't even factor into the price. This chapter should be no more than $10. The reason it will be more is because they know most ST fans that come are just going to play as ST characters, so they want to get as much money out of them as possible. It's also very popular with a younger crowd so they're just gonna ask their parents to pay so they don't care about price.
Considering the ST skins in the shop will likely be more expensive like Pig's AND there's a battle pass coming, I think $12-13 is a rip off. Bhvr is getting greedy.
As long as people keep buying whatever they throw out there, Behavior's gonna keep being greedy.

If Burn's gonna affect her, then it should burn away the husk but force her out of phasewalk. But that's it.

I am disappointed too don't worry
As long as its not reskins I am fine
In order to produce enough to sustain.. god knows how many months at a time's worth of cosmetics, you bet your silly willy that there will be recolors.

That's not what I mean
I just saying that the battle pass has a kinda funny name and is making fun of others I think
I wouldn't know what its called. I just saw that there's gonna be a short one followed by a long one with separate free/premium tracks.
-
Its that fabled New Player Experience™ that Dead by Daylight is known to provide.
I am sure those survivors will stick around to play some more after getting annihilated by some utterly useless matchmaking system.

There have actually been several attempts at this point, but none of them have held up against DBD
Because they've been ######### games. And then you leer over at DbD itself and see a convoluted mess of spaghetti.. I mean, it takes effort to make a game that bad.
-
@Hoodied said:
Its got a funny name, I think the pass for R6 is to make fun of other battle passes
Funny names doesn't make people like it less. If anything, they might end up insulted. You know "features" have a bad name if companies don't wanna call them by their true names.

Bit harsh for a fella just wanting to see/get something they have been anticipating for the past 9h.
I can't wait for Doom Eternal that I got myself hyped after work last night I re-downloaded Doom (2016) and played when I should have been sleeping, does this make me a violent individual?
How did it spiral off into some stupid US anti-gaming propaganda?
-
The licenses help but I feel like the most important thing about DbD's success is that no rival as risen to fight it. There's no competition.
-
They're just cosmetics though? Are you really that vain that it impacts your day by not having them?

Thats some really good ideas, i especialy love the one with totem being reignited.
Would require a Dull totem, so you can only reignite a Hex so many times before they're gone forever.
-
@LegendCZ said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/655547#Comment_655547
Any good idea on that?
Yeah. Here's a few.
Improve totem placement for one. No totems should spawn right out in the open or near generators, for obvious reasons.
Make all Hex totems appear as Dull totems until they've been activated by a survivor. Like, the Huntress' Lullaby should lit up when the first survivor misses a skill check. Ruin should lit up when the first survivor hit a good skillcheck and get zapped.. etc.
A mechanic that let Killers reignite the latest Hex that were cleansed, at the cost of time. Hex perks that have stacks, like Lullaby or Devour Hope, should lose a few stacks when their totem is reignited.
Let the effect of a Hex perk last a short duration after it has been cleansed.
-
But.. she does nothing? She like.. stands there. Not to mention she's from a really ######### movie series.
-
I am sure there are more inventive ways to help improve Hex totems without slapping yet another band-aid on top of everything else in the game.
-
And I thought massive walls of text were bad.
-
Patience is a virtue.

They mentioned doing rank rewards, 3 years ago.
It was talked about on the very first Dev stream. Don’t expect anything, ever.
Precisely.
And see how the game is now. Most players don't wanna get below rank 10 because the game just ain't fun. There's no reward or reason to reach rank 1, unless you want an achievement.
There's a reason why Dead by Daylight has an extremely poor new player experience, when people with 1000+ hours intentionally keep themselves in the low rank.

This. Its gonna make or break him.

Does SWF need a nerf? Not really.
But the game need to adapt around SWFs being a thing. Like having lobby indicators for SWF players. Giving maps the Bedham treatment is gonna improve the QoL for many killers, leading to less SWF-related frustration overall.
-
My favorite meme build is "Santa Claus" survivor.
Technically you only need two perks for this, Ace in the Hole and Plunderer's Instinct, and then you just burn a more chest offering and start giving away whatever you find to other survivors.

Which may be too late, it should come first. Like I said this is their BEST chance to grow the game and they’re going to not make the best of it? Maybe frustrating on my part, but this should have been priority not a new chapter.
Its a common trend with Behavior.
Otherwise they'd have fought the toxicity before it got out of hand. Or implemented stuff like rank rewards to entice players to actually climb the ranks, instead of de-ranking and making the game a horrible experience for new players.
But no, no. Money is what matters. Content. The fact that all new incoming new players will have one of the worst experiences in the gaming industry trying to play characters from their favorite shows.. that's not important.
Behavior will have to suffer the consequences of their actions (or lack there of..) sooner or later.
-
The generator speed by itself is fine, I think. It generally boils down to how good you are at pressuring the map as a killer.
If survivors fool around and such, the game's actually pretty enjoyable. But if the survivors wanna push generators, there's nothing that I can do.
Doing something boring as adding more generators or increasing generator repair time are not the ways to go, as I can bet you that most survivors think doing generators is boring as #########. What we need is a good second objective for survivors, to take their mind off generators.
-
Sore losers will throw toxicity at you.
Sore winners will also throw toxicity at you.
The best thing you could possibly do is to close that chat window and never open it again. Free yourself.

You agree, and some killers are way better in protecting gens then others, and that makes that even more unbalanced, for an example a hag, freddy, billy, spirit or nurse has a way esier time to protect the gens but a clown, huntress, legion etc cant do anything against these gens.
Pretty much. There's always more fun to be had for lesser killers if the survivors wanna fool around, because they'll be doing.. not generators.
-
I personally think the generator speed is long enough, if survivors could do something else as well.. but like, sadly there's not much a killer can do if the survivors just focus generators.

The best way to buff plague would be to stop releasing maps that she can't possibly pressure.
