Playing a nice game until ..... DC
Mhm yeah thanks, guess the community hasnt changed.
Props to the devs for finally punishing DCing, I can really feel the difference
Don't feel bad, 1st game played P3 Quentin quits and his duo partner does as well, next game 1st person downed quits, 3rd game 1st person downed quits. After that it's been back to normal game play, some die some escape.

Same for me and I main Trapper and when I play Pig, it's 1st box 1st try traps off. When I get RBT'd it takes me usually 4-5 boxes or i'm dead before the 4th to 5th box.

Can we all agree that the survivors that are great at keeping the killer busy the whole match should face the killers that are best at ending a chase as fast as possible? If so why not build the ranking system around chases?
Sure you can still get to rank 1 by doing gens and saving other survivors, as it is now, leave it like that. But once you're in a chase the outcome of that chase should impact the total points you get from all the emblems. You could setup several time thresholds.
Example: You get caught in less than a minute, you lose a lot of points that go towards the pip. You get caught in less than 2 minutes but more than a minute, you still lose points but less. You get caught after 2 minutes, you gain points. You get caught after 3 minutes, you gain even more points. And so on.Same with killer.
You keep chases short but they gen rush you and you don't get to sacrifice anyone, you still pip.
Or, you can't catch anyone but you have NOED and Blood Warden and sacrifice all 4 survivors at the end, you don't pip. This will help put players where they belong and lead to more balanced games. I really don't think there is any other way.
I dont think you understand what the game is about.
I will give you a hint, they are called "survivors" and "killers", not "looper" and "chaser"
I don't hardly ever agree with you but this hit the nail on the head, the game isn't call Ring around the sac Tree for a reason. If anything chases that max you out in 2 minutes shouldn't be a thing.
-
I'm on all the time but Steam will pick up on it soon enough as will BHVR, what people don't realize is the boosting services get paid no matter what. You on the other hand risk much more than just that 1 game being banned, you risk your entire account.
You also risk all your private information which that service then sells to other 3rd parties which puts you at risk for identity theft.

We kinda got used to it, but i'd really like to see equal hitboxes, so we can get the cheese out of the way. Looping is gonna stay, but i think wouldnt complain that much, if the mechanics were actually balanced.I'm pretty sure survivors dont gain 0.4m/s advantage, that would make it possible to infinite slower killers.
Its more than EW1 MYers, since you can infinite him around anything.
So 0.2m/s advantage seems more fitting (or boosting survivors speed to 105%)They told us a year ago they wouldnt touch collision hitboxes, but it doesnt look as complicated to change as i thought. Hopefully they change their mind someday, that was one of the most requested wishes back in 2016.
That was the number given on the previous Q&A session on October 26th 2018, they even did the aproximate math on the devstream, of course they didn't account for every little variable or situation, but it was outright stated that they gain aproximately that amount. On the same Q&A they also so showed the reason why the survivor is gaining this distance to the killer - the difference between the collision capsules and the "tightness" of the turn.
It's values given by the devs, not something I've calculated, it's right here if you for some reason don't believe what I'm saying:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=gTpZSllfMmw.It's around the 16:37 mark they begin to go into this.
Alright, its 6am and im in the mood for math... i'll try my best to calculate how much an average loop gains. The bigger the tile, the less impact looping has (it gets exponentially worse for smaller loops). Thus the example of a water tower is not very good and they also didnt do the math really, since they only provided absolute values but didnt explain how much a speed increase it gives.
We should care about the loops we actually play with. The average loop is 15-20m long and we're gonna assume its a circle. The circumference is 2piR. Killer radius is 0,5m, survivor radius is 0,45m.For a 15m loop: U=15m=2piR, so the loops radius is R=15m/2pi=2.39m.
The killer loops a 2,89m radius circle, while the survivor loops a 2,84m radius circle. Now we calculate the new circumference for killer and survivor, which is
U(Killer)= 2,89m2pi= 18,15m
U(Survivor)= 2,84m2pi = 17,83m
It takes 3,94s for the killer to loop once (18,15m : 4,6m/s) and 4,45s for the survivor (17,83m : 4m/s).
If the survivor had the same hitbox as the killer, it would take 4,54s to loop once (18,15m : 4m/s).
So the speed increase would be 2% (4,54s : 4,45s).For a 20m loop (R=3,18m):
U(Killer) = 23,15m
U(Survivor) = 22,83m
It takes 5,70s to loop once. And it takes 5,79s if survivors had killers hitboxes.
So the speed increase for a 20m loop would be 1,5% (5,79s : 5,70s)
If survivors had the same hitbox as killers, they would lose out the additional 1,5%-2% of their movement speed, which is ~0,075m/s. The speed difference between killer and survivor is only 0,6m/s or 0,4m/s, so that results in a 14% effective speed increase (0,6m/s : 0,525m/s) against normal killers and a 23% effective speed increase (0,4m/s : 0,325m/s) against slower killers.
Tl;dr: Looping takes around 15% longer to catch up due to hitbox differences (more for slow killers).
Honestly not as much as i expected. I guess other factors play a role like acceleration. Notable is that slower killers are more affected than normal killers from the hitbox abuse.
I'm really tired, so if my math doesnt make sense somewhere, please tell me. I'll sleep for now.It got approved

For everyone who is interested in hitbox abuse and what it does. Please tell me, if the math is wrong. Thats the first time we can calculate the hitbox consequences for dbd.I'd ask @Orion who's also a math whiz on here to take a look.

Peasant said:The sooner we buff solo survivors to the level of SWF survivors, the sooner we can hit them all with a nerf nuke.
While I agree with you, I also have my doubts. It all depends how long it takes to nuke survivors.
Also, you underestimate the review bomb that would follow. Survivors went crazy with the exhaustion nerf. Now Imagine an actual meaningful nerf.A nerf isn't what's needed, it's a buff to killers once solo is on par with swf you can more easily balance around that. The best way to do that is do it in increments so people get used to it similar to what they're doing now.
You buff solo up in increments towards swf level while also buffing killers up in equal increments or just below solo so solo doesn't get insta nuked.

Camping and tunneling are legit tactics who don't outpass any game mechanics.
But Devs just added a emblem nerf for campers, so there isn't much to complain about now, i guess.Gentapping avoid the entire skillcheck mechanic in a unintended way.
There's nothing to discuss here.
You're right there's nothing to talk about here since the devs already said it's not an exploit and the arguments have already been given why it's not an exploit.

Tunneling is efficient for both sides. Killers slow the match down and survivors have less things to do.
There's no blaming on the bigger picture.
Survivors need additional objectives and might get more time on the hook. Or survivors stay with the current objective and get less time on the hook. Just as examples.
It's a question of who needs to be pressured and why. I think survivors need to be pressured more and the killer less.
Oh I agree and I'm looking forward to the added objective, the devil is of course int the details as they say and how it gets worked in. But do killers really want 10-15 minute matches given the ahem comments about games lasting longer than 6 minutes i've seen on here.
I've enjoyed my longer matches where it's been tense for both sides until the very end and for the most part most of both sides have as well.

Thanataphobia:
As survivors see their mortality, they will begin to lose their hope in escaping. Whenever you injured a survivor, all survivors will suffer a 10/15/20% speed penalty to all actions until that survivor is healed to the healthy state. Once that survivor is healed to the healthy state or eliminated from the trial, this perk will go into a 60/50/40 second cool down.I think that this is the perfect rework since it adds a reasonable penalty while having a simple counter.
Generators:
80 (Base generator repair time) divided by 1c/s - 0.2c/s = 100 second generator repair times. So, basically a 25% increase in generator repair time for a 20% decrease in speed.Healing:
16 (Base healing time) divided by 1c/s - 0.2c/s = 20 second heal time. So, again, basiclly a 25% increase in the heal time for a 20% decrease in speed. What do you think @powerbats @Global?
That sounds intriguing but then what happens if you throw Mangled in there and or say Coultrophobia etc?

It takes longer to Gen tap than actually work through it. Who cares if 4 survivors gen tap their way through the whole match the problem isn't gen tapping the problem is you! You need to apply map pressure. Stop using excuses as to why you "fail".Hang on there, there is a difference between tapping your way through until it's done and just tapping once to remove the regressing mechanic, including any effect put on - like overcharge. It takes time for the killer to make the gen regress - ie. to apply the overcharge effect, time which the killer could be using to apply map pressure.
So no the problem isn't me - if you can't see that there is a problem, then you have a problem.
Also, being able to just keep single tapping to avoid an intended game mechanic, is by definition an exploit, which devs really should realize but apparently don't.Devs make the rules, teh devs say it's not an exploit so your claims to the contrary have no basis or factual claim to be correct. That's just your opinion and gen tapping doesn't stop the explosion from overcharge. As far as Ruin being gen tapped if you're complaining about that then the problem is most definitely you.
In fact you want them gen tapping away since it takes them forever to finish 1 gen and quite often they'll still blow the thing up.
O.O camping and tunnelling are also on that list. can't cherry pick now lol
I'm already aware they're on the list but so is looping LOL. 😜
-
Bottom line no matter how much you yell, complain, post, opine on it etc, IT'S NOT AN EXPLOIT. You don't avoid the skillcheck if it goes off while you're gen tapping, it still happens and blows up losing progress. If the killer has hit the gen with Overcharge you can't gen tap your way out of it, that difficult skill check still comes up.
Whether I tap the gen 1 second or 2 seconds to stop regression it's not an exploit no matter what you say. If I tap that gen and hold M1 for 2-3 seconds i get the same effect which means i'ts not an exploit. If you as a killer can't handle a survivor gen tapping then the problem is you're a bad killer.
You as a killer want that person gen tapping because that means they're going to take forever to do that gen and they'll blow it up occasionally too. By letting them gen tap and going after the better survivors you make escape that much more difficult.
Which is better, going after the gen tapper that'll take 3-5 minutes to do 1 gen or the person that's hitting good/great skill checks through Ruin and finishing that gen in 60-120 seconds? If the answer is the former, you're a bad killer and if it's the latter you're a good and smarter killer.
-

Apologies for the rank mix up part way too early on little sleep low versus high ranks.
@Tsulan If I took it out of context it was because there was no context to compare it to, now think about someone else coming to the forums and seeing that. They'd come to the exact same conclusion, if you're going to reply to someone with what you said you need to have context for others to know what you're talking about.
Had you put the poster you were referring to post in there at least the relevant parts I'd have been able to understand you better. But as it is my comments to you were accurate based upon what was in your posts.
That said apologies for taking what you said out f context, but in the future at least leave a little bit of the post or the posters tag so it's obvious who you're referring to.
-
I was referring to your statement not his hence why i quoted you so my statement is still correct.
What´s next, counting every single pallet as a separate nerf?
That's a pretty weak Straw Man considering you know for a fact I never said anything remotely close to that.
Ds hasn't been nerfed.
I never said it has, again Straw Mans are beneath you.
They're trying to get it right so it works for both sides.
Until the nerf is live, there hasn´t been any DS nerfs. Or can we close the hatch, or do survivors have inbuild kindred? Devs talk a lot...
My statement still stands as correct and good grief give up on the Red Herrings, now you're just plain trolling.
Exhaustion nerf only affected a tiny amount of the playerbase.
Tiny is your estimation since SB was one of the most top used perks or did you forget you and the other killer mains posting stats that claimed that?
That'd be incorrect since survivors make up the majority of the player base and as you killer mains always like to point out. Most groups run SB or another exhaustion based perk.
Exhaustion only affected survivors which were able to use SB more than once in the same chase. That amount of the playerbase IS really small. I never managed to trigger it twice in a chase, could you?
Yet your own statements and the statements of other killers mains contradicts what you just claimed. You all claimed that it was being triggered more than 1x during a chase and that's why it needed to be nerfed. As for me triggering it 2x yes i did do it.
Pallets are not supposed to be safe. You get 1000 points for hitting space. As much as a unsafe hook, almost as much as a complete gen. There should be some risk involved.
That's not really accurate and is quite misleading since you only get those 1k points for hitting space if you actually get the stun to land. That unsafe unhook though makes you lose those points when the person gets rehooked. So yes there's quite a bit of risk involved since you run the risk of getting hit and or downed.
Risk vs reward. You risk getting hit, in hope of getting those tasty 1000 points. If you drop the pallet ealier, you won´t get the points, but you don´t risk getting hit.
You still risk getting hit regardless, you only don't get hit if you drop it too earlier but the risk is still there because you might drop it too late.If you drop it too early you just wasted the pallet and you get no tasty points.
Game has been survivor sided for over 2 years and still is. Better prepare for more changes.
The game is survivor sided except at high ranks where it's heavily killer sided to the point of being op yet killers don't complain about it. The changes are slowly making things better but when the game is finally where it should be close to what will you still complain?
I think you mixed up the ranks. Game is only killer sided on the noob ranks. Mid and high ranks are heavily survivor sided.
No I didn't you and most of the other killers always refer to ranks 1-5 which are low numbers as low ranks whereas ranks 15-20 are high numbers thus high ranks. Whether it's high or low numbers the noob ranks is killer sided.

Whereas the most of the forum goers that're experienced, you included refer to ranks 1-5 aka red ranks as low ranks.

Sc wasn't nerfed. It was indirectly nerfed with the healing nerf
Ds hasn't been nerfed.
They're trying to get it right so it works for both sides.
Exhaustion nerf only affected a tiny amount of the playerbase.
That'd be incorrect since survivors make up the majority of the player base and as you killer mains always like to point out. Most groups run SB or another exhaustion based perk.

Her very rare outfit is really amazing and I can't wait to P3 it

@wimlin I've been rank 1 as survivor every seasons for last few seasons and generally stay there pretty consistently. I've got almost 1300 hours in the game now and the healing changes while an abrupt change aren't that bad.
You just have to adapt and get used to it just like with any game that updates things where you have to learn the new system and change your ways.

Thanks Patricia since i'm getting close to Devotion level 4 I think and i slowed down some because it just feels unrewarding at times.

I see rank 1 Spirits all the time now because she's got such good movement speed while phased and unlike Billy can actually sneak up and grab you off a gen.

I've been letting people farm vials alle vent and even more so since there's still people just starting or doing it due to work/server issues. Having it go till Sunday wouldn't be a bad thing since by then people should be able to finish.

I just confirm that it was ez. Don't have to go into detail on for whom.
People are salty anyways.True and I've gotten some rather interesting comments lately from both sides some of which I can't post here and others just make you shake your head.
