Bruh every killer runs NOED, Ruin and BBQ, and you're trying to nerf the only way survivors fight back -_-I never run Ruin except when I was doing the adept Hag, Noed only used same and to take Spirit to rank 1 off and on. BBQ is mainly for points but also teh aura reading if i'm paying attention.
DS does need an adjustment of some kind and realistically if you learn to play without it you'll be a much better player.

This could be due to time of day and or rank as well as a lot of people are playing PTB now.

to be honest i think we all can see that unless every new survivor buff is reversed and perks are nerfed and the legion ones are buffed the legion probably wont get anywhere because when this patch goes live and it doesnt have any changes sweaty sfws wil never have a single game were one of them diesYes because every swf group is a sweaty bunch of tryhards, and each time you and the rest use that argument you lose all credibility. It's the same thing after every PTB goes live the same arguments and lo and behold the sky isn't falling after all.

Would be fun see even more threads than usual about camping
This is the response every time after every PTB goes up and yet the campers still camp and the people that don't camp before don't camp afterwards.
Don't make excuses for camping when you were either already doing it or were going to anyways before the stuff was live.
It's no different when some survivors do it and say they'll just loop more or dc more, tea bag the killers more etc.
assuming I see, I like it
Too bad I never camp since it's pretty pointless at red ranks and I need to create pressure plus I play mostly survivor since its relaxing and I can do/listen other things while playing and survive. So yeah, I was just answering that guy being as toxic as him making an opposite statement but someone took it personal it seems
Ok that's good then, just that if you look at some of the usual suspects so to speak it's always well this will make killers camp more. They can't debate so like the person you responded to throw out stuff that's not true.

Yeah its the same thing provide other people know your entire build and the killer not be able to see profile/names of survivors. Totally the same thing

Hey let em check that profile, well they've got all the achievements so better dodge, I don't like them because they've got x achievement done so dodge etc.

Really good trappers do just fine against swf even at red ranks, but he does need to start with 2 traps as a base kit. The locker reload idea is kinda cool but then if he doesn't have traps laying around his auto arm addon is kinda meh at that point.

Milo said:You see this is the option even now
Repair gens if killer is there and doesnt see youDidn't want to use the triggering words but sadly survivors don't consider doing the risky route but consider themselves entitled to the shortcut that is the hatch.
The hatch skips up to 4 (1-3 gens plus 1 door) objectives they'd need to get before achieving their goal of escaping.
I dont even wanna get started on the standoff which is 100% avoidable by survivors and yet still favors them.
I like the concept the OP presents.
Yes the survivors are entitled argument again that's not even remotely close to the truth and no the hatch standoff isn't 100% avoidable and only the survivors fault. It takes 2 to tango you know so it also takes 2 to have a hatch standoff.
It also doesn't favor them at all since the killer if they're just as stubborn as the survivor can ensure they never get out. If the survivor tries to jump in the killer grabs them thus it doesn't favor them, it favors whomever is more stubborn.
Also survivors consider doing the risky route all the time and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Billy, Nurse, Spirit, Wraith can all cover ground to that gen being worked on. If they're running Bitter Murmur (highly likely at red ranks), Tinkerer (hello Billy).
Then you have hag that can trap the living daylights out of the hatch area, Trapper that can toss plenty around as well. It's not so easy to just go do 3 or less gens to power the exit gates. That's especially true with bitter Murmur etc.
Wraith with all seeing eye, Pig and Myers with their aura seeing addons mean you won't get near that hatch and if you're ona gen they'll probably see you. Billy can run to that far gen and run right back long before you get to that hatch. Nurse and Spirit laugh at you trying to sneak by.

I do feel like that sometimes, but the fact that they're giving their team your location over Discord means they're too much of a risk to be left in the game.
That's especially true if you're using a stealth character.
Nothing worse than approaching a gen well outside of terror radius, you see the aura of the obsession appear for a second and then everyone scarpers before you get anywhere near them.
Oh I can totally understand that and I remember seeing complaints on here before about swf but also full solo groups doing it by coordinating it in chat prior. I've been in all solo q lobbies where 1 person says they're running it and then they play Kate or Laurie and just kite forever.
The smarter killers realize what's going on pretty quickly and either tunnel and down them fast or go for a different target instead. If it's SWF it only works if the killer is looking right at you at the same time as they're looking at you.
It can also be gamed if you know that's what's happening as well since you can bait them into moving someplace you want them to.

Technically speaking that's incorrect, it'd be win/loss, win, win, win, win since the 1st person wouldn't get very many points so they'd lose. But because they can requeue up quicker they sort of win as well provided they don't get camped at start of next match.

I took her to 1 and did quite well and enver once used Ruin or any other hex but NOED off and on and the beauty is if Ruin isn't active people tend to ignore the totems.
Rancor, BBQ, Bitter Murmur, then either NOED or Tinkerer for some really fun, you can also throw in M&A if you need to get closer before phasing with lower quality addons.
Addons her 2 ultra rares and Prayer Beads, Wakizashi Saya, Yakuyoke Amulet (this ones a beast), and for greens Dirty Uwabaki, Katana Tsuba, Katsumori Talisman,.
For the yellows Kiun Talisman, Muddy Sports Day Cap, and browns basically follow the same rule. The passive phasing is a real hit and miss whereas the ones listed even the brown versions all give good mileage.

I do the same, never dodge and you learn how to counter it all since you've experienced it all. Now sure you'll get wrecked by a coordinated swf but the same can and does happen with 4 solo.
Dead Hard i might fall for once but after that it's a wasted perk slot, Unbreakable I rarely leave someone on the ground long enough to pop it. When they do manage to sue it they usually get downed pretty quickly again anyways.
DS is a wasted perk most often unless you save it until the very end when the gates are open or it's your death hook.
-
Ignore it, if they're doing that it means one of a few things.
They want to get you upset so you don't play optimally.
They're just being egotistical idiots who think they're great right up until the moment they get downed.
They want you to chase them around and ignore the people working on the gens, think the old red cape and bull routine by the matador.
Depending on the frequency it's either a taunt aka bming or a whew that was close move.
They watch certain streamers that do that to lowbie killers and act all tough but when faced with a high skilled player they get rekt.

@Blueberry said:
I don't think the counters for BBQ not being good enough is even a debatable topic. They are quite reasonable, even against the high mobility killers.
I always leave the hook and go for the BBQ target if it shows, almost always. Only reason I wouldn't is if it didn't show a single person or I literally saw a survivor or scratch marks by the hooked person.
I'm not sure what you're trying to debate here.
You always leave the hook unless those are things that happen but most killers especially at red ranks always patrol close to the hook. Since if BBQ doesn't show anyone or only one and you have 2 people unaccounted for chances are they're close.
If anything BBQ should change to be reverse of what it is now get rid of the outside distance and turn it inwards.
For instance at all 3 ranks the it shows you all survivors inside say 16 meters from the hook which is the minimum distance between hooks. So anything under 16 meters away to the hook their aura is shown to you for 3 seconds.
Anything beyond that no auras are shown so you know for a fact that no one is close and you have no need to patrol. If anyone gets inside that 16 meter range before the timer is up they get tagged for x seconds by the aura reading. Where x seconds is the amount of the 4 seconds remaining from time of the hook.
The only thing that would separate the 3 ranks is the bonus BP % you get for each 1st hook so instead of it being a stackable 15,20,25% at the 3 ranks.
Rank I currently gives you 15,30,45,60 %
Rank II currently gives you 20,40,60,80%
Rank III currently gives you 25,50,75,100%In addition to the inward aura reading being 16 meters at all ranks the bonus BP % would be as follows at all 3 ranks.
New Bonus %
Rank I 20, 40, 60, 80 % Bonus BP
Rank II 25, 50, 75, 100% Bonus BP
Rank III 50, 100, 150, 200% Bonus BPThis has the added bonus of giving killers the bonus bp for facing sWF and solo's at the same time but also encourages you to leave the hook. Since you'll be able to see anyone within 1 hooks distance of you once you hook you'll be certain if someones near or not.
This will also prevent survivors scrambling to get under the BBQ range and thus crowding the hook area and making the killer soft camp when that's not their intention. Now to counter the issue with removing the distant aura reading issue you could do the following.
You could change it to keep the distant aura reading but lower the max range and lower the duration of the aura being shown to 2 seconds. So you hook and it takes you 1 seconds or so to turn around so you get 1 second may'be the full 2 or so to see in the distance.
The survivors then have time to move around/decoy without worrying about a high mobility killer appearing in their lap 2 seconds after a hook.
@MandyTalk @Peanits thoughts on my BBQ change?
-
@Blueberry said:
Those aren't the people we're talking about. We're talking about the ones that would have actually left if they saw someone.
But how many wouldn't leave though if the survivor saw one of the following killers especially if the killer was say Blily, Nurse, Spirit and the map was small. They were close enough to just run in below the BBQ aura.
You're told just move around for 4 seconds or change direction, 2 seconds have elapsed and the Billy/Nurse is already on your rear end chasing you.
Also if you saw someone in the distance and 1 person was the one you just hooked you're not leaving the hook. You'll continue to do what you've been doing which is patrol around there since you know someones close,.
If several gens are done well that's less gens to hide behind meaning there's people close so of course you'll patrol around the hooked person. The only way you'd go charging off in the distance for someone is if there were multiple people on the hook and or everyone was in the distance.
The only other reason you'd go charging off instead of checking in case you didn't see anyone was because of you were running either MYC and or DH.

Here's the real problem...Killer hooks survivor
Looks around with BBQ, sees no aurasKiller: "Oh my, no auras. That must mean there's not 1, not 2, but 3 survivors nearby!!! Oh man, I'm gonna have to stay here and catch them!!"
Camps survivor out of game
Cue postgame salt
Like I get the idea of being able to block auras, but bbq helped the killer find his next target. It gave him a clear direction to encourage getting him away from the hook. Plus the maps are huge and survivors can be hard to find. Aura reading perks were a great way to speed up the game, especially against immersed p3 claudettes.
We can only hope that Distortion doesn't become meta. I really think it's going to get a lot of use though.
@Wolf74 I wouldn't be as fussed if they nerfed decisive but after all this time and they still haven't touched it despite everyone knowing its the most broken perk in the game.
Edit: you know I really think they're going to have to get rid of the 40m range on bbq, otherwise killers might accidentally camp due to assuming survivors were nearby.
^^^This.
This perk is literally just going to make more killers camp when BBQ shows nothing. It encouraged much healthier and enjoyable game play for all and now that's gonna be gone.
You mean because of this change killers that hard camped, soft camped or patrol camped because BBQ didn't show them anyone are suddenly going to play the same way because of the change?

Gen rush is not about survivor working together.
Gen rush is best done when all survivor spread out.
So Legion gets best countered by a tactic that is already strong. While that's true a lot of people on here complain about gen rushing being done by multiple people on 1 gen ie it pops within 20-40 seconds of match starting or quicker.
Quite often swf will join together, especially if it's a good group that hits skill check consistently if they hit great then it'll pop in less than 20 seconds. So you can have 2 gens done in the 1st 30 seconds conceivably which while rare is a good example of gen rush.
While it's best to work solo since it's 80 seconds without Ruin and no skill checks and average is 40-60 seconds minus screwups, killer coming close etc.
On smaller maps he'll be good at making people want to group up while larger maps that're spread out he'll have more trouble currently.
Iv'e yet to be able to play him sine killer lobbies are endless wait due to everyone playing him but I do wonder if UP would be beneficial to him at all. There's quite a few perks combos that I've yet to see tested with him so far.

With each game being 10 or less minutes long, I've gotten enough to learn the Killer's power is beyond weak. At least at rank 5 anyway. The high rank survivors are dominating the New Killer. I suppose low rank is probably having an easier time.

I've said the same thing which would prevent someone from hiding all match and then camping it at 3rd sacrifice. But there's a small but vocal minority that feel entitled to a 4th kill and say if they find it 1st they deserve the kill.
But if the survivor finds it 1st it's a free escape according to them despite the double speak and claims tot eh contrary.
It just depends in my opinion @powerbats. A survivor could be hiding all game just to escape through the hatch without working for it besides "I'm the last survivor so I escape!". When I was new, I would let the killer grab me and use DS to force a escape. I want the hatch to be a skilled thing in my opinion.
Oh I agree the person hiding all match shouldn't get it, but the people that actually worked for it deserve the chance to try and escape. I've done my share of hatch standoffs on both sides and on killer side i almost always just walk away or smack them and walk away when it's been a good match.
If the persons been a toxic ass all game they're dying before anyone else unless of course i don't know they've been a jerk all match but usually i do.
On survivor side I've done it when the killers been face camping and smacking people on the hook, especially when it's at 5 or 4 gens. But usually I'll just try and hop in or let them hook me if it's a good match.
I don't feel entitled to it either way and I'm not going to be a jackarse and let my ego get in the way of the game just because I feel entitled to something. If the person gets there before me good for them, if I down them before then good for me.
But usually at 1 or no gens done I almost always let 1 person escape through the hatch since I don't need to strut post game and say ggez because i 4k'd and they got 1 or no gens done.
I find that people even if they died most often feel like they still had a decent game if 1 person is let live and the killer shows some mercy. They don't get salty and they definitely go into their next match not feeling like they need to be toxic to the next killer.

Still no sign of the fabled free kill mechanic.
Time for another round on the merrygoround. If a survivor finds the hatch, he can jump in. No one here ever had anything against that. The problem you happily ignore is that NOTHING happens if a killler happens to get there first.
Fine, let's consider the hatch "not a free escape" , but rather a shortcut... still skipping possibly more than 50% of the objectives in the worst case.
It's still possible to get a shortcut and escaping without ever touching a generator yourself. Afterall you are 4 survivors.Yet again claiming strategies and gameflow to be mechanics.
Hatch standoffs: there actually is a radius around the hatch in which the survivor simply becomes untouchable.
So completing 4/4 of the killers objective is now a mechanic to negate the shortcut condition survivors get at 2/6, which is easily possible less than 2min into the game.
EDIT: didnt see your last post and agree that this thread should be closed.
- That's incorrect, EW III Myers, Rancor etc if it's the obsession, the killer can do a hatch standoff if they so desire, the survivor can decide to try and jump in and risk getting grabbed.
There's also NOED for hits away from the hatch, Iridescent Heads Huntress, Hag traps with collison, Doctor with Madness III etc.
- It's not a shortcut if there's 1 survivor left the killer has gotten 3 kills and has basically already won at that point. The hatch is part of the lore since the entity feeds off the survivors hopes of escape, if there's no hope of escape the entity can't feed.
Also if there's no chance of escape then you'll end up having the problem of an immersed survivor hiding forever and as you whiny killer mains call it holding the game hostage. If you want to go back to 30 minute games where you have to actually find the last survivor all because you don't like the hatch mechanic then buckle up.
IF they ever removed the hatch then you'd have to give up all your aura reading perks, detection perks items and add ons or have them nullified once 1 survivor is left Then you can have your hatch free game but once again you have to go earnt hat 4th kill, no freebies and you can spend 30 minutes looking for them.
Yeah because strategies and gameflow don't use game mechanics as what they operate on, are you serious with that? How did people come up with strategies and gameflow if it wasn't by basing them off of game mechanics?
See #1 above for the reasons that's not always correct and if the hatch is on a hill or in a wide open area that survivor isn't getting close enough to be untouchable.
So survivors are supposed to just let you have a free kill because you feel entitled to it why again? Lets see the killer is faster, can have insta downs etc. You can try and play the victim card but it just makes your argument look weak.
Also where'd you come up with that match 2/6 since it's power 2 gens or 1 more than the amount of survivors alive. If the survivors have 4 alive they must power all 5 generators then so 5/5, 3 left 4/5, 2 left 3/5.
Lastly so what they can gasp power 2 gens in under 2 minutes but the killer can down all 4 in under 1 minute. Just because it can happen doesn't always mean it does all the time.

The hatch is FREE, because you have nothing to do beside the stuff you are supposed to do ANYWAY.
You do not have to invest anything "extra" to make it happen.
If you can't get the hatch to spawn, you sucked and deserved to die.
You just need to play halfway decent to get the hatch to spawn.
That is what I consider FREE.
So please stop arguing about it. You just play and get it. Done. No need to change your tactic or strategy. It will just happen (or not in case you suck).
As long as you claim the hatch is not "free", we have no common ground to start from. Her we go again, you have to actually do something and as I explained repeatedly it's not free and THAT'S A FACT and you know it to be so.
The very definition of free is to get something for nothing, to have something be in your control. To receive something of value with no expense or effort.
To get the hatch to even spawn the survivors MUST DO 2 GENS which is a known fact and a known game mechanic. So thus the hatch isn't free unless you're allowing the survivors to power 2 gens without trying to stop them.
It's not free unless after you kill 3 of them you let the 4th person walk to the hatch and jump in without trying to stop them in any way shape for or fashion. Thusly unless you're letting all the above happen the hatch isn't free.
You're right we have no common ground because you refuse to accept that something sin't free when something must be done in order for it to happen. To make something happen by doing something is the very definition of not being free.
It doesn't matter that you'd be working on gens anyways, you still have to work in order to receive something which means it isn't free.
Now for the suck part if you as a killer let all 5 gens get powered and the gates are powered and 4 escape you suck using your own logic. If you manage to avoid the killer and get the hatch then you didn't suck using your own logic.
Free definitions::
adjective:
1.not under the control or in the power of another; able to act or be done as one wishes.
Meaning you could walk to the hatch and jump in in full view of the killer and never be touched and thus escape.
adverb:
2.without cost or payment.
Meaning you'd not have to power 2 gens to get the hatch to spawn it'd be there at 5 gens left to be powered.
Those are just some of the definitions of free and they all contradict what you say, no matter what it won't ever be free if something must be done in order for it to spawn. It doesn't matter that you'll be working on generators as part of your objective anyways, You're still required to work for it in order for it to spawn, which means it's not free.

@powerbats stop calling things "proven wrong" or "facts", just because it's your opinion and we can get along … better.we'll have to agree to disagree on certain things then.
But things that I consider facts and the reasons listed.
Free escape, this isn't true because free means getting something for nothing and in your control. - The survivors have to power at least 2 gens in order to get the hatch to spawn. The other 3 survivors must die for the last person to get a chance at the hatch. The last person has to make an escape without getting hit/grabbed/downed etc.
To be free after that point the survivor would also have to be able to go to the hatch and not be able to be hit/downed/mori'd/grabbed by the killer in any way shape or form.
For all those reasons the hatch at that point isn't free and that is a fact because the reasons listed above.
Now if someone does nothing all match and just hides and camps the hatch and jumps in yes that's a free hatch escape. You could argue that technically they did do something which is evade you the entire match to get to that point.
As for the survivor doing nothing all game, I think they shouldn't get the hatch for free in that case since you're basically sandbagging your teammates at that point. It should be based upon your contribution to the games overall progress to that point.
If you've been unhooking, doing gens cleansed 4 totems, kept the killer busy all game etc then yes you should be eligible to get to the hatch. But if you've done nothing all game and have just camped the hatch at the end it shouldn't even open for you.
If you're in a duo que swf and one of you is on the hook and you dc your duo partner shouldn't get the hatch since that's abuse of a game mechanic. You should have to do what everyone else does and that's suicide on the hook.
I still agree with you that if someone escapes through the exit gate the hatch won't open unless the person has a key to open it. The issue with RBT's is that if the killers chasing you you're not getting to a box at that point. But there's perhaps ways to fix that issue that work for both sides.
As far as 4 getting out through hatch that's an achievement that's pretty difficult to get since most killers see a key and tunnel the heck out of that person. I think the killer should get a hatch notification of some kind if a hatch is opened with a key.
That way they can head off the potential 4 man escape through hatch if they're chasing someone since once it's opened it's 30 seconds until it closes. To make it even fairer each person that jumps in after the 1st shaves off 5-7 seconds off the timer.
So if someone's tea bagging or looping the killer thinking they're going to jump in the hatch and it closes due to the timer it'll prevent the bming moves.
You could even tweak it although this might not be feasible so that if they mistime the hatch jump as it closes it cuts them in 2 like a mori and you get full credit for it.
I think one last thing that might end hatch standoffs but will get lots of screams from survivors is the hatch should close within 15 minutes of being opened. This would prevent a hatch standoff from being too prolonged but'd make killers jsut stand there knowing they'll get it closed for free in end.
To prevent killers from standing there endlessly they could be given a movement speed debuff the longer they stand there it gets harsher. This would make them want to check that gen and the debuff would be removed once in a chase.

@Wolf74 I do apologize however for getting so carried away in our discussion due to lack of sleep and being sick. I do respect your devotion for killer related issues however and do agree with you on some things while being neutral with you on others.
I do agree the hatch needs to change to make it more fair for both sides but therein lies the issue really since both sides will want what's more fair for them. I'm maining killer still right now and I see the hatch from both sides.
Perhaps taking a break and then making a new thread where we can TRY and discuss possible changes that would actually work will help.

Actually my 4 year old DOES NOT play this. Some dude went out of his way to find me on Facebook and I guess he saw I had a son.PS4? Because on Steam I'm set to private for that very reason since i've been stalked before through Steam and on League of Legends. I even had someone go so far as to call me on my cell phone, somehow they got it from Verizon.

@Raptorrotas It's already been proven that the hatch isn't free, you yourself said that they have to do 2/6 of the objective which means it isn't free. The very definition of ree is not having to do anything for something.
Also it takes 2 to tango so no hatch standoffs aren't just the survivors fault, if the survivor finds it 1st using killer main logic they should get it because if killers find it 1t they should get the kill.
It's amazing that when a killer manags to 4k before 2 gens get powered that the killer that used a viable strategy to do so isn't considered viable.
I do love the not killing the 3rd claim since I can quote all the killer mains here who've said slug the 3rd to ensure you can get the 4th.
Again the hatch isn't a free escape no matter how many times you 2 or others claim it is, 2 gens must be done in order or it to spawn. Thyen the survivor must actually make it into the hatch and escape without being grabbed.
For the hatch tob e a free escape the survivor would need to be able to walk in plain sight and jump into the hatch with the killer enver being able to hit them or grab them or mori them etc.
Again top with the free mechanic victim nonsense, it just shows how entitled you killer mains are despite claiming the contrary. You have a free mechanic which is sacrifice all 4 survivors to prevent a hatch escape and if you fail to use that it's your own fault.
Also @Wolf74 you can continue to try and troll all you want but you 've been told by others as well giving you the same facts.
It won't change the fact that you twisted what I Said and now you've called upon another poster to take over.

@Master I've never used MLGA and enver will and I'm hopeful they eventually find a way to ban for it, the same as the marco flashlight clickers..I think a better detection system might have to wait upon the code rewrite and perhaps some way of getting Vac detection perhaps involved as well.

I still see a lot of streamers streaming for years now that are still playing the game even though they admitted on comitting bannable offenses that should lead to an instant perma bann (MLGA for example)
I have a friend that has burnt through several Leauge of legends accounts because he likes "heated discussions", he hasnt even received a warning in DBD yet

Well admitting on stream to using something and actually using it are 2 different things and also EAC would have to detect it. If they ever add it to their bannable list where it actively checks then they can ban for it but if I remember right it's a non modifiable program.
League I remember quite a few pele that got perma banned and kept making new accounts and then complaining about being perma banned.

Dribbling aside from that enduring (its not enough by itself) + drop down i.e. basements stairs or ledge. Then theirs the classic strat which is to slug the ds user. Most of these solutions aren't optimum and sometimes it wont work but cleansing 5 totems isn't convenient either. Seeking out a totem in the end game is not great either as while most maps have crap totem spots maps like the game and yamoka's estate can be really hard to find. Also cleansing dull totems don't count towards lightbringer.
ok where is the counder so you can't use it at all. Almost all the good perk for the killers have this or you can play around them but DS is uncounderbol
I never used Ruin and NOED only from 12-1 and most of the time it was cleansed as soon as it activated and quite often it never got used.
