The title pretty much says it all. How do you combat toxic SWF groups?

    Play nurse or lobby dodge.

Play Spirit or just improve your skills since they're pretty easy to counter or take the easy way out and dodge and never get better.

Good idea. Doesn't have to be precisely 5 seconds but something along the lines to it.

Yes I just used the 5 seconds a placeholder time and it could be 3 seconds really and Styptic could be 1.5 seconds of channeling.

You still destroy the game since you already have a casual mode called KYF, people play with their friends because they want to have fun. With a random killer you get that and it's never get bored and you actually have a reward for playing.

The "casual" game mode Im talking about is you go against a random killer, it just isn't ranked. So if you lose it doesn't matter as you wont lose a pip.

But if you go against a random killer a bunch of newbies that'd be ranked 20 could go against a killer with several k hours. That isn't going to be very fun as a casual mode and the same is true for killers facing highly skilled survivors.

You're still going to be splitting the playerbase up which is what everyone asking for a casual mode or solo mode only doesn't grasp. The player base isn't massive enough to support that type of split.

Back when hooks could be permanently sabotaged, Iron Grip was strong enough to carry a survivor over half of the map.

Well with the map changes ie reduced pallets and window/vaulting locations, smaller map size like swamp tile, hooks having a minimum amount plus spacing. I don't think it needs to go back to that extreme especially if it's a simple stun.

Perhaps it could have a tighter grasp but only for a DS user and like the reduced effectiveness on additional uses for DS it could have same on same person. But down to a base minimum to where it is now and can't go lower than that.

In other words you can't refute what I said and resort to the typical troll response so let me again spell it out for you.

That was how badly your troll post went, it jumped off the ledge of failed logic and bad arguments and found there was nothing actually supporting it.

Are you asking for a map wide perk of a perk already in game - Yes.

Are you asking for said perk because you like to slug - Yes

Are you asking for said map wide perk because you don't want to have to bring Deerstalker on your own - Yes

Are you asking for this so you can get rewarded for slugging but not use the required perk to slug properly -Yes

Are you asking for this free handout so you can bring another perk instead of Deerstalker so you can get your entitled free kill - Yes.

In summary you're asking for a free perk because you're too lazy to run the proper perk and want a handout.

In other words if you want to slug and don't want to risk them bleeding out someplace and making you waste time as you put it. Then you need to run the perk yourself and not ask for a handout because you don't want to run said perk.

You've now been given a lesson in logic and now you can see how illogical you're being.

Every time Boil Over comes up, somebody always mentions that devs don't want to affect wiggling speed because reasons. But it's bullshit, since Iron Grasp already does that in the other direction.

Just remember that iron grasps was reduced from 36% reduction to 12%.

yeah but its cuz devs are lazy and they dont want to do it

Well there's the fact that hooks are now spaced exactly 16 meters apart and there's a guaranteed minimum and sometimes extras get put on the map. There's also been redesigns on the maps making some smaller cough swamp cough. There's been a reduction in pallets as well as spacing minimums, looping and vaulting locations got nerfed/removed.

  • The reason why the game is balanced more around the noobs is because that's where most of the playerbase resides. If you look at League of Legends back when they crossed the 32 million active individual accounts most of the player base was Bronze/non ranked players.

Now for them they balance it more around high ranked play because that's where the esports action is whereas here the player base isn't massive enough to do that.

You also don't have enough players playing at say a depip level to warrant balancing the game around them, that's not to say it won't reach that point someday.

Which of course lads to killer dodging because they can't see how many achievements you've got nor hours played. I get dodged on site using default cosmetics and no items just because I prefer to play stealthy, I don't take the campers bait and I don't do unsafe unhooks.

In a 5 hour span, I maybe got 3 survivor games.

Edit: Just got in a match and got kicked out. Is there something I'm missing here?

Most killers the last 6 hours have been dodging non stop, the rest are either camping, tunneling or the matches take forever because both sides play well. In the former 2 the matches tend to take awhile to finish as well because some noobs take the camping bait while you try and do gens.

So after all, we are talking only about the Syringe since nobody uses BNP anymore.

The Syringe is way too unbalanced and should be removed/reworked anyway.

I'd like for both to change to you need a prep time to ensure it's done right type of thing so while it'll heal 2 full states on use it still takes time to prep.

Syringe takes 5 seconds of charging to use and Stepic takes 2.5 seconds of channeling to use and if you interrupt the channel on either they're wasted.

They'd still be powerful but would carry risks and you couldn't just play stupidly and get away with it.

  • @DwightsLifeMatters said:

Wha? You are aware that bleeding out still counts as a 4k right?
Just for clarification, did you understand my point? Imagine having the last survivor slugged. 4-5 gens up. He has no unbreakable.

"Why wasting time in this situation?
don't want to take a chance they may crawl off."

Crawl off where?? To a corner? And then?
The survivor will 100% not survive anyway. No matter if hooked or chilling on the belly till bleeded out, the result is the same: the survivor dies and the killer killed!!!
I really don't get some people in this forum, but I only can deal with logical and not with illogical people.

Seems like people enjoy the boring endgame mechanic of DbD watching on the screen like a nerd or beeing afk.. So stupid.

You do realize you don't get credit for them bleeding out though compared to say hooking and or sacrificing them and I think you lose some points somewhere for it.

Yes I did understand but notice where you just said imagine having them slugged, so you want to have a free perk usage without actually bringing the perk. It doesn't matter that they have no hope of getting up, you chose a strategy and now you want to be rewarded with a free perk find.

Yes you could easily choose to hook them so they don't crawl off but instead you want to have a free downed survivor finder. So you admit they crawl off and die but are whining about not getting a free hook handed to you as well as a free perk.

If you can't understand this forum and illogical people then why'd you post something so illogical? You're asking for a FREE PERK so that you don't have to bring that perk into game.

    THAT'S ILLOGICAL !!!!!!

Seems like you just can't get over the fact that people don't want to hand you a free sacrifice and hook and now your resorting to insults because you know you have no argument.

In summary, you want a free map wide Deerstalker perk for free.

The logical people on the forum are telling you that if you want DeerStalker you need to bring it not ask for it to be handed to you.

  • Ok some things on Freedom of Speech that everyone misunderstands.

1.It only restricts the government's right to censor you on government property aka state or federal or local etc.

    1. It has no effect on private property aka a movie theatre etc, your home aka kick someone out or off your property

3.You can't for instance yell fire in a crowded movie theatre, you can't call for the overthrow of the government, or threaten people etc.

4.There are some restrictions on it even on government property but those are limited.

5.On a private property aka a companies own website/forums/servers both game and non game you have no free speech rights at all. When on or using any of these you agree to follow their rules and if you violate said rules they can censor you, temp ban you or perma ban you at their leisure.

They also can kick you just because they don't like you or because they randomly chose your name out of a hat.

  • @DwightsLifeMatters said:

You are completely illogical, seems like the typical survivor-main-logic aka "I don't get anything from bleeding out and I'm wasting my time but it doesn't matter cuz the killer doesn't get his hook and therefore I won"

Also, it's not about using deerstalker to hook. I couldn't care less about the hook. I wouldn't mind if you bleed out but it takes to long and that's annoying. But yeah, let's all just waste time waiting in a corner like absolute nerds with a false pride.

You just pointed out how hypocritical you are, survivor main insult and all, it's ok if a killer gets a map wide perk instead of having to actually bring said perk.

Just in case that wasn't obvious enough here I'm going to use your own argument against you.

I don't get anything that helps me for the style I'm playing unless I bring a perk that suits it, but I'm going to waste the survivors time because I want my entitled 4k.

It doesn't matter I make that person slowly bleed out over 3 minutes just because I want my entitled 4k and don't want to take a chance they may crawl off.

Lastly it's not bleeding out in a corner wasting time like an absolute nerd, it's bleeding out away from the killer and not giving them a free kill. You want a tracking perk BRING IT YOURSELF and stop acting ENTITLED.

Oh and before you start with the survivor main nonsense I'm a killer main and have been for the last few months.

    Sounds great to me!

Now that you mention it, I hope spectating gets extended beyond who ever is left in the trial. I'd like to sit back, and watch some matches live. That aren't youtubers, or twitch streamers. The delay would be fine with me in that case, too.

I always like to sit back and watch and see if someone actually makes it out or if that sandbagging jerk gets nailed lol. I also get to see perhaps where the darn hatch was, where that pesky hex totem was hiding but also watch for mistakes and great plays.

  • @thesuicidefox said:
If you bring an insta-heal into the game and never use it, you might as well brought nothing.

I see people that'll bring it but refuse to use it on anyone but themselves but will also just use a medkit as well.

  • One thing to add ignore the gens on the most outer corners of the map, let them have those early since that just funnels them into a more manageable area to control. On large maps this is crucial since it's less to patrol and you can focus on the middle gens that're moe open.

But you also want to threaten them on the out ones if you're a high mobility counter just to keep them honest but also give them a good scare and keep them wary.

  • @Rebel_Raven said:

Lemme reword it, then. I'd rather have each individual figure out what someone else has on their own. Otherwise it sounds like they are using a crutch when other people tell them.

Hiding perks once someone dies is totally a fair thing and spectating should come with a timed delay similar to what League has but not such a long timer. But say 10 second time delay when spectating so you can't just say turn left at that big rock in front of you.

No matter what rank, you’ll never notice a P3 Claudette, who knows you probably passed one without you knowing. It’s annoying to deal with a Squadette, Claudette is a problem.

I mained Claudette when I 1st started playing her because I liked her backstory the most and good or better killers always found me when I was wearing my P3. They would run whispers and or just knew where to look and the same can be said for other characters.

I've literally walked into other P3 characters and couldn't understand why I couldn't move until I looked down and saw the Feng or Bill etc blocking me.

You're blaming Claudette because you can't find her but if you think she's such an issue go play her non stop with her darkest clothes and face good killers.

When you get destroyed and found often because they know how to counter you you'll change your mind.

  • @ClogWench said:

The game wasn't designed initially with the mechanic of survivors having constant communication. That already creates a huge power imbalance. Lobby Dodging doesn't make it an easier win, it makes it an even match. At the end of the day the fault is on the devs for refusing to address the imbalance, not the killers who don't want to play an uphill battle or the SWF groups who benefit from the oversight.

The devs weren't aware of how much an impact voice would have on the game and you really can't buff killers to swef level without absolutely destroying solo.

Also lobby dodging doesn't make it an even match at all since it's mostly done due to items/clothing and not because it's actually a swf group. I've joined games where the lobby has slowly filled up and the moment someone equips something a killer doesn't like it's instant dodge.

If they can't see your profile to check your achievements they dodge, flashlight dodge, tool box dodge, medkit dodge. Then if you get the killer later they say swf was the reason they lost even when it was an obvious solo group.

Lastly most swf groups are potatoes and killers that either don't know how to take advantage of their makeup or refuse to adapt are to blame. Are they harder to face yes they can be but if you know how to handle them most are quite easy to destroy.

For the most part they're highly predictable down to when they'll go for the save, when they'll try and heal under the hook, where they're most likely to run etc.

  • I think allowing her to vault pallets/windows while crouched but not in ambush/lunge would be fine and still stay in ambush mode.

In essence she'd be crouched still and still have slow vault speed but she'd do it silently giving no noise notification.

It's like hey I just got 3 people to buy the game and this help support the community and so I'm going to play with them.

Apparently entitled killer mains that use the entitled easier win seem to think people that introduce others to the game should be forced to buy a brand new copy. Just so they can play with their friends now imagine if they were forced to do that on a $60.00 game.

Oh Really? SWF is the most toxic people that you could ever run into. of course, Killers don't want to play against you guys until the developers fix the killers issues and give them more power it wouldn't be a nice game to play with. 1- decisive strike
    2- borrow time.
    3- Flash Light
    5- Firecrackers
    6- toolbox
    7- leader perks
    8- medkits
    9- sprint bursts
    10- iron well

and you blame killers why they dodge you? why would anyone want to play against toxic survivors?

I've had more toxic solo lobbies than i've had wf lobbies and I've seen solo lobbies have those perks as well and what's even funnier is the following.

The usual perks layout certain killer mains always complain every swf group has is SC/DS/DH/AD although they alwaw swap out w/e perk is FOM.

  • It could also be amanda dailies popping up for a lot of people again or she's the next person they want to play 1st.

  • As above posters said Exposed so MYC which is underrated on Spirit, Rancor is wonderful especially for mind gaming the obsession. You can also bring Franklins if you see more than 2 medkits as well as Sloppy Butcher and ignore Ruin since it's not worth the wasted perk slot.

I typically run on my Spirit Rancor, Bitter Murmur and then swap out depending on lobby and such M&A (great for jumpscare builds and works wonders with Prayer Beads and Yakuyoke Amulet.

Then either SB/BBQ/FD or if I really want to go full troll annoyance I go BBQ/Rancor/Bitter/Tinkerer and throw in those 2 perks.

The 1st yes but perhaps you have to do SAFE UNHOOKS to get more uses but each usage gets reduced in effectiveness. So if it's a 6 seconds stun (not an actual number placeholder only) then the next time it's 5 seconds and so on.

Well We know Freddy's up next and Hag/Trapper/Wraith have gotten their much needed reworks Doctor is probably in a better spot than say Amanda/Bubba.

Bubba after Freddy is probably most in need of a full rework then Amanda and Doctor needs changes as well with one thing being his aoe aura can be gamed.

I noticed as both a killer and survivor is that survivors can get just outside his melee range but still be inside his shock range. So no matter what they never build up static charges and also can't be shocked if he's in treatment mode.

I don't abuse it but i've seen survivors do it from both sides of gameplay and it's something that should be changed. But he should also have a fix put in for the macro users that start the shock and change to punishment and get 2 actions at the exact same time.

  • You get rewarded for leaving the hook because you apply gen pressure ie damage gens gain points, find survivors gain points. You then hit said survivors and gain said points rewards and then down and hook said survivors to gain more rewards.

The end result is you get rewarded with more points by actually doing things that reward you for doing more things.

The moral of the story is do more things earn more rewards=profit.

Just because you see one perk more than another, it doesn't mean it's completely broken. Survivors take SC more often, so they don't have to rely on their teammates or chest rng, when it comes to healing. But I rarely see survivors healing themselfs, since the healing changes. Only if necessary, because it takes quite long.

DS on the other hand is more broken, considering how much it can lengthen a chase, which is much more devastating for a killer.

OP argued that DS and NOED must be broken, because he sees them every match.
    Just following that logic.

I don't see SC every match as killer and on my fellow survivors I see Bond more along with DH/AD combos. But as a solo I run it since i don't know if I'm paired with depip squad skilled players or a bunch of Idaho potato farmers.

If you don’t want to be tunneled because of the screams in tier 3, then just have another Survivor block him from getting to you while you remove tier 3 or have the other Survivor heal you before you break out of tier 3 so you can loop him for longer and get him to leave you alone because you're making him waste time chasing you. It also makes the game a little bit scarier because you're never truly safe from Madness 3 even when you're trying to remove it.

    Ahh i can understand

It's like that in most online games I play. I always forget about the huge uptic in adolescent antics and language over the breaks. Especially in N A if you play later in the evening/night, when those kids are usually in bed.

League was terrifying during winter break always.

Just because something has been in the game for years doesnt mean it cant be improved on. Thats like saying tunneling has been in the game from the start, that means survivors complaining about it are the problem cause they cant handle it.

I've said and agreed something needs to be done and am all for secondary objectives but that's not the issue. The issue is that people are using any and every excuse under the sun for their own bad gameplay. When it gets pointed out that people can and do get 4k whether pro or not guess what happens.

The insult, deflect, blame everyone else and use and and all excuses to distract and place blame where the blame sometimes is on them. I'm going to laugh so hard when the rank rework hits and some of these people find out they had it easier before it got harder.

Because they'll have to come up with new excuses and people and things to blame and it'll be even funnier when the secondary objectives land. Because at that point if they get gen rushed it's their own fault for not playing well.

As for a core group. Lets say you want Ruin, BBQ, Enduring and Spirit Fury. So thats 4 different killers to get a good set of perks. Well ruin is pretty much useless unless you have Tier 3 to effect all survivors not just 2. Spirit Fury is pretty much useless unless you have the perk at Tier 3 where its 2 pallets not 4. BBQ can be debated whether its still useful as a grinding perk at any level, but if you want to effectively use it with soft counters now, you want it at Tier 3. Thats still a massive grind. This is a pretty standard set up a lot of the time.

The same could be said for any good 4 perks you want, it's not supposed to be here let me pull up to the drive through and order a quick take out of my favorite perks. It's an equal playing field grind wise, everyone has to do it, there's no shortcut

I also enver run Ruin and while I use BBQ I sometimes swap it out and Enduring is occasionally used.

Now what i am saying is these people you mentioned have access to the very best Tier 3 perks on every killer. Not to mention they again have access to consistently the best addons every game due to the amount they play. Again i am not saying a person cannot do well at Rank 1, but using people with thousands of hours of game time for an example of balance considering the games mechanics with perks and addons is a terrible example.

I had all the perks I wanted to use before those thousands of hours and others have done the same, it's all about proper planning and not blowing bp/shards on characters you're not going to play. Those people have also had all those perks and addons long before they got to the 4k hour stage.

Good Lord have mercy. This post is so disorganized and everything, no reasoning as to why their should be a hex totem built in. And completely messy

    1/10 wouldn't read again

You should better get rid of your toxicity and double standards.

Ok so how is that toxic again, was it insulting to the poster yes but toxic no and considering it's a killer post it's funny you'd say toxic. Since it's now toxic for anything survivors do or anyone that dares to criticize a killer mains post.

If the person was actually being toxic they'd have either been racist, homophobic, used a mental insult of some kind etc. Also double standards where'd you get that from did they say something different in a thread because if so why not post it here.

If not then perhaps you shouldn't accuse someone of a double standard then when they did no such thing.

Each time a Generator is completed, the Obsession sees your LOCATION for 5/4/3 seconds.
Each time a Generator is completed, all Survivors' locations are revealed to you for 3 seconds.
Once all Generators are completed, the Obsession has the Exposed Status Effect and the Killer can kill the Obsession.

    Just saying.

I run both on my Spirit for the great jump scares.
