  • I would suggest simply changing your IP for one of your systems. I'm not even sure how any multiplayer game works if both your systems have the same IP. My mothers phone and my PS4 had the same IP at one time and it freaked out and wouldn't even let me go online in general.

  • I'll take Clown in a latex suit any day of the week. In fact, everyday of the week will work even better. 😍

its weird to think someone tries to sexualize a cut up body... like whats next you guys wanna ######### the hag? go to porn hub if youre unable to control yourself but lets not get some weird ######### going on in a horror game, last thing i need is a bunch of people fapping over DBD

Fun fact, there is an entire subreddit for DBD porn and it's semi-popular with almost 13k people and new posts almost everyday. 😗

  • All killers have the same base lunge range besides tier 1 Myers and tier 3 Myers; being shorter and longer respectively.

They certainly don't feel that way though as survivor and killer both. Freddy's lunge when playing survivor looks super dumb sometimes and when I play Ghostface it just feels like his lunge is really short.

Thinking on it there could be two reasons why it seems like the lunge is different for you. I'm not sure if the bug was fixed yet but there was a bug that made your first lunge get cut short sometimes.

The more likely explanation though is that as Wraith when you come out of invisibility he gets a boosted lunge, similar to Spirit when she comes out of phase. This might be the difference that you're noticing.

  • I hate going against the Trapper the most as I'm a magnet for traps. I'm that one rando that somehow gets trapped every 10 seconds and even gets trapped in the obvious ones in plain site.

I also don't like Clown as I have a very hard time seeing through the gas. I know that's the idea but when my screen goes pink I just kind of don't know what to do and panic. I did have a game a couple days ago where I led a Clown around for 4 gens so my opinion on chases with him has skyrocketed from what it was though.

I don't care for Deathslinger either as the 1v1 chase feels very bad sometimes. I like him as a killer overall but I just don't have fun in the chase with him.

Why did that one survivor bring a green key without any addons lmao

I do that sometimes just to mess with the killer. Makes them think I have a key so they'll tunnel me or play a bit differently. I do the same thing as killer by bringing a shroud and swinging like I have a mori and then nod and pick them up.

It's just fun to mess with the other side sometimes as some people will change how they play, for better or worse.

  • Killers.jpg

    Survivors.jpg

These pictures aren't updated at the moment as with David, I've switched to the rift cosmetic he had but kept the face and on Dwight I've switched to the short shorts; keeping the rest.

I've switched to the white rift outfit for Doctor; keeping the head and I changed Wraiths outfit but I don't remember to what.

  • As a PS4 player I disagree pretty hard.

As killer most of my games are generally easy with me getting occasionally curbstomped or having a tough match. Most SWF's I run into are either messing around or are way too altruistic. Also just because gens go fast doesn't mean they're being super sweaty either. There isn't much else to do if you're fully healed and your SWF teammate is leading the killer around for 3 gens.

As Survivor the games have been really good recently to the point I joked with my friend that they already have the MMR in place as the games have all been pretty close. I do normally play with one other person so I'm not a solo which does make a difference and yeah, the matchmaking is still a rainbow but it's been quite fun anyway.

I also don't think Red Rankers are tryhards as some people like to put. It's not that everyone is being super sweaty but they just have more experience. I've looped rank 13 killers for 4 gens and got facecamped and I can only assume he thought I was the most sweaty person ever when in reality I'm just running the loops somewhat efficiently and having a good time getting chased.

Most red rank killers I see know the loops really well and they have really good mindgames. It's been such a long time since I've seen a facecamping or tunneling rank 1 killer. Some will go for the slug 4k but even I'll do that sometimes if it's been a tough game or I'm doing a challenge, trophy, etc. so I can complain about it too much.

  • Depends on the situation for me. If we're at five gens and I see all 3 working on them and they all pop and they run out of time to get me, I'll still play and won't be mad. If anything I'm happy people are actually doing gens instead of just urbaning around.

If the same situation happens and no gens pop and they're all being silly or overly cautious then yeah, I'll let go.

Also, while I do hate being farmed I would rather be farmed then go to second state if it has come to that, unless a Mori happens to be in play.

Edit: I think some people get a little too upset about going to struggle sometimes and I got a little story about it. So the match has been going a bit and a guy gets downed and hooked. My buddy and I finish off two separate gens and make our way to the guy with some time to spare. The killer came back and started camping him out as he noticed us and while we tried we we're not able to get him before second state. His SWF buddy was also there attempting to get him. After he got to second state the killer committed on me and as I ran away they got him.

From there, I lead him around a while and when I was downed, I let my buddy know they were both on a gen and to try and get me. The killer found him on the way and started chasing him and I told him not to worry about it. We were down to two gens, they were on one and the killer wasn't great so I was fine losing a state in order for the gen to get done. They pop it and then they just sit around the gen. They don't move and just kind of huddle it. My buddy goes down and they still don't move. They let me die and they let him die from first state as well without even moving from the gen.

After we're both dead, we just kind of watch and eventually the killer finds them both. He downs them and then hooks them both, funnily enough the one guy that hadn't been hooked yet Kobe'd and got the hatch.

My friend messaged them afterwards asking why they left us; we we'rent mad but just curious and they said that because we let his friend get to 2nd state, they both let us die. We had a pretty good chuckle about it.

  • I'm waiting for the new tome more than the patch. I plan to work on a bunch of killer trophies so I might as well wait to get some progress on the tome as well.

  • I'm hoping one day they'll do a massive perk rework PTB like how they just did the maps. It'd be nice to see not just WGLF tweaked but a lot of perks messed around with.

As far as your suggestion, I really like that. It'd stack well some other healing perks without being super OP as you have to work towards the tokens.

I’m going to try both. I’ll try Dance With Me first. Something is telling me I’m going to like the perk but I might get stuck on Detectives Hunch for a bunch of games.

Poised don’t always work how I try to use it. I’m sure I won’t miss it if I replace it with Dance With Me because like you said, I will get more use on that more than Poised. I never really read the description of each of those perks and I like what I read.

I'm glad I could help and I hope they work well for you. ^_^

  • This is a pretty standard "where the hell did they go" build although I'd personally replace Poised with either Dance with Me or Detectives Hunch.

Poised is a bit too situational to be of much use in my opinion, especially in a build like this. I think poised would work better on a Sprint Burst gamer after finishing a gen or even in a chase so they can get out of an area quickly without leaving scratch marks.

Dance with me would get some guarantee use with Lithe and Quick and Quiet so when you vault, the killer if not careful will lose you completely and have no means to track you unless your injured.

You could also use Detectives Hunch so you can focus on objectives and not spend time looking for totems. Do one gen and you basically know where all the totems are if you ever need one throughout the match.

  • Here is the link.

    https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=191426

In most cases you will have to have reported the person in game as well as have some kind of evidence like screenshots or videos.

  • I don't know, I've t-bagged some killers before and they started to tunnel me hard, straight up ignoring other people in front of them. All the gens get done as I waste their time and then I'm hit with a spicy NoED and a face camp while everyone leaves without even so much as a glace.

It just seems hardly fair to either side to be honest. I shouldn't be face camped because I t-bagged and they shouldn't lose the game because they couldn't resist chasing the t-bagger. It's a lose lose for everyone when you t-bag. Be better people!

In seriousness though, yeah very silly to say it's unfair. Taunting is a part of most multiplayer games and it's up to each individual whether or not it affects you.

  • Yeah, they suck to go against but on the plus side they're almost always really bad at Huntress. Of the few I've went against they lost pretty hard as they couldn't hit the broad side of Jane's ass.

  • It's always been like that as far as I know. When I get that map as killer I always check to see how the gens are spread and take whatever side is better while ignoring the other side completely. I've actually had 4 gens on one side and the middle gen close to the same side so I pretty much had a 5-gen going on. Basement not being on that side as well was a bummer lol.

  • Depends on what you consider gen rushing. The normal doing gens really fast is perfectly fine and dandy and while it sucks if it happens it certainly isn't toxic.

The leaving people to die on hook in order to work on gens just to get out of the game as fast as physically possible is rather annoying to both sides. There is nothing wrong with not getting someone right away to maybe finish a close gen off but when some people straight up ignore people on the hook just to do more gens instead, that's not fun for anyone.

  • I think the Nurse is still technically the best killer by potential but not the best killer in general as no one really plays her anymore do the issue of no fun and too much work to learn.

On PS4, I love playing against a Nurse and while most are quite awful the good ones I've run into were great fun.

I wish I saw more of her. :/

  • Hitting it too fast can cause you to die as well. When you press it super fast the game doesn't register it very well.

  • I had two ideas for a rework of this perk. Pretty much copy/pasting this from another thread a while back.

Increasing the time to maybe 30 seconds per token and the token effect instead becomes a permanent increase to the size of the great skill check bars on everything, doubling in size at 4 tokens or around a ds skill check size. You could also pair it with This is not happening for a huge great skill check area.

As for another rework, how about keeping the 15 second terror radius per token but then have the effect be every time you get a good/great skill check you can see the killers aura for a few seconds. Great skill checks giving you more aura time. This would make it a neat little killer tracking perk similar to alert but tied to skill checks instead of pallets or kicking gens. It'd also fit the name Stake Out pretty well.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/145791/why-doesn-t-dead-by-daylight-have-kids-as-survivors

Its an ethics thing, its the same reason horror movies don't show babies getting murdered. Or if kids do die, it happens off camera. Having kids in this game would really push the rating above what even the goriest horror movies portray.

Example, you have a monster movie, the monster picks up a baby carriage where the audience assumes theres still a baby in the carriage, the monster then throws the carriage 100 feet into the air out of the shot then the movie cuts to another shot, never explaining to the audience what happened to the baby, or even if there was a baby in the carriage. <----Thats as far as you can go.

Another example, Murderer enters a home, 3 kids sitting in front of the TV, murderer enters the room and at best you can show the shocked face of these kids for a split second before cutting away with NO sound effects. Hero comes into the room and finds the bodies of said children, but all the audience sees are small snips and odd camera angles never showing the childrens bodies, and no blood. Scene cuts away and the movie continues. <----Again even for kids under 18 thats as far as you can go.

You can show a child who's been drowned where its assumed it was an accidental death, you can show a child under 18 in a morgue where its assumed the death isn't traumatic, but no disfigured corpse, as in you can paint their faces white so the audience assumes what happened, but no bloating. You can show a ghost baby with zombie like makeup on it, but you can't show a baby being bitten by a zombie.

You get it? There's ethical degrees to this ######### where you can push the limit, and with DBD being the game it is, with the blood, and the attacking, they wouldn't be able to get away with it without it going way too far. And on top of that, some of the perverted side of this community really don't need more fuel to turn into borderline illegal content.....

I don't know. I think DBD could get away with killing kids and keep the mature rating. Most adult rated games are all porn ones or casino based ones with the couple violence ones I could find being rather old and Hatred being a rather weird one.

As an example Dante's Inferno has quite a bit of nudity (both female and male) and you kill babies that were sent to hell because they weren't baptized and it kept a mature rating.

I also don't think Dbd's violence is realistic enough to warrant a higher rating even if kids were introduced. None of the damage is very visual lasting on the characters and even the mori's aren't exactly gore-y.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think children should be in the game either but if they ever did for whatever reason, I think it'd probably be able to keep it's rating without too much worry. It seems more like a just because we can doesn't mean we should kind of thing as it'd definitely raise some eyebrows.

The situation I am laying out is I try to gen rush to leave the match but the Killer (and survivors) keep me on the ground to prevent me from doing that.

That situation is actually reportable. Farming on it's own is fine but if the killer signals you out to extend the game because you don't want to farm, you can report them. Same as the survivors not picking you up as that'd probably fall under griefing.

In that specific situation I don't think you should DC but instead should start recording them, wait for the match to finish and then report all of them.

  • I really don't get all the love for this creature that I've seen recently. I mean, it's cool for the dude that made it that it has taken off but I just don't get the love for it at all. It's a tall thing with a siren for a head and it kills you, okay? It seems like something more out of SCP then anything.

What's next, a telephone pole monster that slowly absorbs your life force the more you talk on the phone, eventually turning into you, killing and then replacing you.

I know I'm being overly critical but I just don't get it and that makes me feel old. It like Slenderman all over again but the 2020 version.

  • Ricket Mason apparently. :3

  • I'm pretty sure they turn off matchmaking altogether in PTB to increase queue times.

They're working on a new matchmaking system so chances are the current one is going to remain broken until the new one gets introduced.

  • I don't think so. They've been in the files since 2016 but I don't think they ever did anything with them. Most likely scrapped for whatever reason.

Who knows though, they could always use them one day.

  • Do generators and totems -Yes

Play fairly to the killer - No idea what that means.

Work with your other team Mates to get saves and gens done - Yes, but that doesn't mean instasaving. Sometimes gens b4 frens is the better play.

Wait to be saved on hook instead of struggling - yes

Take time to Heal each other - Depends, sometimes not healing at all is the better play. Depending on how fast the killer downs people, if they have sloppy, etc. healing can be pointless and you should focus on gens instead.

99% the gates instead of opening them and leaving - yes but don't leave the 99'd gate. If you 99 it then stay close by it. I've had way too many times a 99'd gate killed me because no one was there to open it.

Be polite in End game chat - yeah

    ---------

Do not T-Bag fellow survivors while on hook Or the Killer - Depends. T-bagging isn't that big a deal and people shouldn't get upset about it. Not unhooking teammates is bad though.

Don't struggle upon hook to end game for you quicker - agree

Do not Disconnect from game because you got downed - agree

Do not work with the killer to get other teammates killed - Depends. If there are two people left and you're the only one trying to do a gen while your teammate hides in the corner or on the hatch. Yeah, I'm bringing the killer to you and we're both dying.

Don't 100% the exit gate and leave a survivor in the end game collapse on the their first hook - Depends on a lot of things. The killer, noed, if I'm injured, any other teammates, where they are hooked, etc. No reason to get yourself killed attempting a save that you were never going to get.

Don't play unfairly to the killer - No idea what this means.

    -------

Kick Generators and play fairly - Depends on situation

Hook different survivors instead of the same survivor - Depends on situation

    kick pallets -Depends on situation

Chase different survivors -Depends on situation

Farm ( If you feel the need too) - Personal choice

Face camping standing right in front of the survivors hook - Depends on if endgame/situation.

Don't tunnel continually chase the survivor of hook - Depends on situation

Proxy campin - Depends on situation

Don't slug the entire team unless it's absolutely needed to get the game over with - Depends on situation

Don't camp around closely done generators - Disagree but also depends on situation

To add a couple of my own.

    As Survivor

    • Commit to a gen if you can finish it depending on the situation. Like if the killer has pop, there is only 1 gen left, the gen is a good one for killer to keep
    • If a gen is close to being done but you can't finish it, it's sometimes better to abandon it then try to force it if the killer is proxying it, especially at 1 gen left. Starting on an entirely different gen can be the better play.
    • Spread the aggro. If everyone has been 2-hooked but you have yet to be hooked, go take the aggro.
    • Everyone makes dumb plays sometimes. Don't hold it against your teammates.

    As Killer

    • Don't commit too heavily on a chase. Learn when to abandon people.
    • Keep and eye out for 3-gen strats as the games goes on. Even if 4 gens go quick you can make a game last a lot longer with a proper 3-gen.
    • Don't waste too much time protecting bad gens. Some gens just aren't worth even going to.
    • Trying to mind game is sometimes a bad thing. Sometimes you're better off just doing a chase normally.

  • The game has had an average of around 20000 players or so a month on steam for the last 2 years. It's up to about 30000 now because of everyone being home so it'll go back down in coming months. Honestly, the game is very consistent with average player base. People may leave for whatever reason one month and then they're back the next and some months have more people playing daily but the average is generally around 20000 give or take a few thousand.

I don't think the game is even close to dying yet.

Is this the same guy that got arrested live on stream a while back? If so he’s extremely toxic, both in and (apparently) outside of the game. I wouldn’t recommend watching him.

Did he? I can't say I know him really well. I've only watched a few of his streams and he was very chill in them. Laughed and talked with his chat and just seemed to be having a good time all around. I went against him in a match once and talked to him after and he was super chill.

If he is toxic and such and I just happened to see his good videos, I do apologize.

  • Edit: Redacted my recommendation.

I'm not really sure to be honest then. Most popular streamers are all on PC so your best bet might be to go through random twitch streams, see if they're on ps4 and then check if they have youtube. A lot of what PC streamers do does apply to PS4 and with the new sensitivity settings, it'll be a bit better as well.

  • Rank List.png

This is a tier list me and my buddy made after discussing it while playing some weeks back. As a note, this list is not based entirely on potential but on our own experiences as well since around mid 2018. If it was pure potential some killers like Nurse and Huntress would be much higher otherwise. We tried to make it unbiased as possible since we both had killers we disliked such as Clown and Trapper would be higher for me as I hate playing against them and usually do poorly.

S is a great killer, A is above average, B is an Average killer, C is below average and D is bad.

The list is also in order from left to right with Feddy being the best and Nurse being the worst. Again though, this list isn't entirely based on potential but what one would normally see while playing the game. We're on PS4.

    1. Its not a lie, seriously. If you think it is, you're freaking ignorant. All swatiskas that look a tiny bit like the nazi swatiska get censored. Even if they are mirrored, thicker or are a bit more stylized. So either you're ignorant or live extremely close to asia to say there is no stigma.
    2. You do realize corona started in November right? It reached Italy in March. The player base was dropping from January till March and suddenly started spiking in March again.
    3. No, you wanna know why? Because every article written by a gaming journalist seems to be a COD player writing about a genre they would never play otherwise. Remember Pokemon Mystery Dungeon? One of the highest rated pokemon games to the point where some parts of the fan base achieved cult like status? All articles you can find on those are 2/5 stars because "they arent like the main pokemon series" or "the mechanics are not like you used to be and having to learn their effects in this game is annoying". Or hell, right now, animal crossing new horizons, just look up the articles before the game got released to the public. You'll find the majority of articles with people telling others its not worth the buy, even though right now New Horizon sales are breaking records, even so much that the Switch consoles themselves are being sold out constantly. I look up specific reviewers rather than gaming journalism, because gaming journalism has awful for decades. Hell, movie critics are currently getting worse too, with people who are self proclaimed movie critics are allowed to professionally criticize movies, lowering their ratings. Just look at Joker reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, you'll find the majority of negative "professional" critics to only being recent critics.
    4. Again, I was pointing out that I saw a pattern that I know people could find troubling. I am aware of pattern recognition and tend to ignore it untill the person who created it states themselves that they are fully aware of what it looks like. And no, its not trying to make the sun into the moon. Swastika's are practically non-existant in Europe and the USA, the only known swastika being the german one. Having a similar looking swastika literally has only 1 connection for people. THAT is why people will see a swastika and instantly think its nazi symbolism, because there literally are no other symbols in their daily life that they will compare it to. You ignoring basic history and daily life and then calling someone else who does consider that into their conclusion wrong, is simply irrational behaviour. Yes, I myself am aware of other swastikas, yes, I myself am aware that the devs in no way intended this design and yes, I am aware of the german swastika being mirrored and turned 45 degrees. However, I am also aware that 1.5 BILLION people only know the german swastika and that any swastika they see will make them think its nazi symbolism simply because they dont have any experience with swastikas, BECAUSE IT IS A FREAKING STIGMA TO HAVE ANY SWASTIKA DISPLAYED. If you still claim there is no stigma, go show a swastika to those 1.5 billion people and you'll see how many of them instantly will think its nazi symbolism.
    1. Combining points 1 and 4 I think you are really over exaggerating here. You don't really see them in a America because we don't have any kind of other swastika that is easily recognized as you said besides maybe the Manji symbol but even then, a lot of people might not know it. Fair enough. So yes, of course when people see a swastika they'll instantly think of the most recognizable one and then they'll make a connection that the one they're seeing is not the bad one. It's the entire First Thought Second Thought thing. Where the first thought is your initial reaction and the 2nd thought is what you really think about it. Anyone who would equate all swaticas to Nazi's are frankly idiots or are incredibly ignorant especially if they're given context. If those kind of people exist in this game and then leave, it's frankly better off. When I was in school some 20 years ago learning about Nazis, I also learned about other variations of swastikas. I obviously can't speak for the entire country but I would hope people are educated enough that they know more than one type of swastika exists.
    2. Looking at steam stats, the game goes up and down but has been rather consistent for a couple years and averaging around 20000. It certainly gained popularity because of the Corona and when this all dies down, it'll go back to being around 20000 again. I don't think the game is losing players or gaining them. People just takes breaks and then come back when there is new stuff.
    3. And what exactly is the issue if some no name journalist bad mouths the game? People already can and do badmouth the game a lot and having some game journalist add on to that won't do anything. The only people who listen to them are generally people who don't even play the game or facebook moms. Your normal dbd gamer or even gamer is general isn't going to see an article on DBD nazism, look at the article and then the proceeding picture and go "Damn! This game supports Nazis!" and then proceed to bail. Hell, if anything it would only bring more attention to DBD and it might gain players from it. All PR is good PR and DBD isn't exactly big enough to see a negative outcry from it.

Let's look at the worst case scenario. Some journalist on an off day picks this story up and it somehow gains traction and goes viral. People who have never heard about the game will come flocking to it to see what's up which would probably cause a temp boom in playerbase and then everyone will be talking about. The majority will mention how people are being stupid while extremists will call for death! DBD will see what's going on, probably not want to deal with it, issue an apology and say it was never their intention, change the symbol and then it becomes yesterday's news as everyone stops caring. It'd probably end up getting memed to hell and back if this happened. Like I can already see that anime/butterfly meme using the doctors face and the picture above going, "Is this nazism?"

There was a literal nazi dude at a presidential thing a couple months ago and he was simply escorted out. Facebook moms were mad, some people defended his right to do it if he didn't hurt anyone and most people joked about it thinking the guy was an idiot. Literal nazism and most people just don't care and you think this case of a Manji symbol that isn't even that easy to spot on first glance is going to somehow take off and hurt the game? It's ridiculous man.

    Edit: I made the Meme.

  • I think most people like Moris but they just don't like how easy they are to use and how much it kills survivor chances. 3v1 is a major difference in the game and sometimes it makes it almost impossible to do anything no matter how good you play.

I think the yellow one should be base kit with the other ones requiring everyone to be hooked at least once before they can be used with DC's counting towards it. They'd still be strong but you wouldn't be able to just instakill someone anymore and it gives survivors a way to play around it.

Having the yellow moris be base kit would also be pretty fun as you might get to see the animations more often.

  • Here's mine as a PS4 player. They're not in any particular order either.

    download.png

Bubba is on their twice because he's twice as meh. (I actually just noticed it and I'm too lazy to go back and fix it.)

  • What? Yeah, matchmaking is a problem right now but you're a rank 6 going against reds. Even on the old system where it suppose to be within 6 levels or so this would have been fine. Considering you said you've been playing for 3 years I'd also say you're probably a red rank player anyway.

Not only that but you did really well considering how many points you had. The survivors had a lot of points as well so it seems like it was a good game for both sides. Going off your screenshot, I'd be happy as hell with a game like that.

Oh, instantly pulling the racist card are we? Nah, swastika's are so well known because of the amount of people pointing out swastika's in designs.

Personally, I'm all for devaluing the swastika back to just being an asian symbol.

Then...aren't you part of the problem? You literally made a post with the title asking them to change it as it might send a bad message even though it's closer to a Manji symbol then anything.

I doubt very few people even noticed it in the first place until you brought it up, I certainly didn't. So, you're spreading awareness on something that isn't even anything to begin with.

I dont think anybody is saying killing god loops is an issue.

What people are saying is that killers have got a lot of what they wanted the past year. Toolboxes nerfed, god loops fixed, maps shrunk, instaheals nerfed.

Thats all great. It makes killer more enjoyable.

However now maybe something has to be done for survivor. Camp/tunnel:noed strategy needs to go. Its used in the vast majority of games and ruins the experience for many people. Likewise some killer add ons could be nerfed just like instaheals were (looking at you iri head + infantry belt)

I personally think Mori's and Key's should be looked at next with Moris being the main one. Keys tend to only annoy me if I have a decent 3-gen of some kind and the 3 survivors left decide to peace out.

Camping and Tunneling depends on the circumstances. 5 gens left and you facecamp the first guy you find, yes that should change no argument. Camping someone because they're a couple seconds away from 2nd state or the doors are open I think are fine. Same thing with tunneling. Leaving a chase to go after the unhooked person is bad, happening to find the unhooked guy first is fine or even if the unhooker is gone or at a safer loop.

Noed I disagree on. No one likes losing the game because they got Noed'd but with all various perks survivors have to help with totems, I think it is in a fine place. You can normally tell a Noed gamer anyway just with how they play.

From there, some add-ons should definitely be looked at (I agree with an Iri head nerf) and various perks on both sides should be updated to not be 100% worthless.

  • Oh wow, you head-on'd me with your SWF. So pro.

this would work for me if the BP made any sense to me.

im often just completely at a loss how the points came to be

Simplifying the 4 blood point categories,

As Killer you chase people, hurt people and objects, use power, and hook people.

As Survivor you heal and help others, do objectives like gens/chests/totems, help yourself via self care/ds/escaping, and leading the killer around in chases.

Here's the wiki for it. https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Bloodpoints#Objectives

Some killers get specific boost in some categories which is strange.

Edit: On Topic as I precommented, I think it's up to each person to determine what's better or worse. It's all about what the killer is going in trying to do.

Say I want to get as many bloodpoints as I can but the survivors all just kill themselves. I get a 4k and we'll even say I piped somehow but I got hardly any bloodpoints. To me, I've lost as it wasn't my objective. Depending on whether one wants to pip or wants to kill will change how one has to play in order to accomplish their goal.

So yeah, I don't think either killer is better or worse in your example. They're just each playing the game in their own way. Personally, my priority order is fun, then bloodpoints, kills with pips being last. Pips mean very little to me and with the change to the ranking system that's coming they'll mean even less.

  • Licensing wise I think Candyman and Pinhead are the best contenders. I think Jack Torrance was also considered by many people as I believe Stephen King followed them on twitter. Might be thinking of someone else though?

Kane from the wrestling horror movies was brought up as a candidate before Deathslinger came out. No idea what the movies are called but I could see him in the game as another hulking brute kind of character.

As far as more out there choices go I think Leprechaun could be interesting and I have a soft spot for Chucky.

  • If I had to guess, maybe because of the 50% extra Bloodpoints?

Legion is one of the best Bloodpoint farmers.

  • A lot of it depends on the map. Using it on the Lab map is borderline OP as you'll have notifications all the time as the map is loaded with birds. Other maps that have only a few crows will do little for you.

I think it's okay to take the perk randomly sometimes but I'd save it for a map offering on a place like the Lab. I'm not really sure which maps have a lot of crows vs ones that don't as I don't really pay attention to them unless they're flying away in the distance but if you're going to use a map offering and you know it has a lot of crows, I'd take Spies.

  • Sometimes I'll bring a shroud or a cypris and pretend I have a normal Mori by swinging at them and nodding just to see if they'll DC. It doesn't happen often but oh boy when it does it makes me chuckle like I was a kid again. To add insult to injury I'll even farm with the rest of the team because of the DC. It seems only right. :D

  • @PrettyFaceKate said:

Taking One for the Team is simply a badly designed achievement. They should lower the number for it by a LOT. I suggest you don't try to farm it too hard, for your own sanity. Set a number of something like 5 a day and don't sweat it. If you wait for rank reset, it's better, because players in the 2-digit ranks don't see hook farming as negatively.

I suggest you use BT, Empathy and either SC with Botany, or one out of SC/Inner Strength/Pharmacy with a 4th perk of your choosing. Probably Unbreakable in case the killer slugs you to chase the rescued person, or We're Gonna Farm Forever for the extra dosh. I wouldn't bring a medkit, because you'll burn through your stash easily. Don't get found first. If that happens, you are self-reliant for healing, and you'll need to be full health to go for the unhook. You'll know the hit counts toward the achievement if you get two protection hit score events simultaneously, one for 200 and the other for 100 bp.

About Left for Dead, keep in mind that it wasn't designed with EGC in mind. So much that, after EGC was introduced, they had to change Left Behind, which essentially was the perk for this achievement, because it became useless. It was a way easier achievement pre-EGC, because the killer would usually camp the hatch and then they'd have to guard the gates on top of that. I saw this one done by repairing not only 1, but even 2 gens.

I suggest to play normally and, if there's two of you left and your teammate is caught, simply 99 the last gen until they're dead. If they aren't caught, then simply finish the gen, don't sandbag. You can run pretty much whatever you want. If I had to choose something, I'd go with Wake-up, Spine Chill, Poised and Fixated, with a medkit. Be the immersed gen-jockey. When you finish the last gen, book it to a gate without leaving scratch marks and use Spine Chill, Fixated and Wake-up to open while skating around the killer.

For Evil Incarnate, Judith's Tombstone, Fragrant Tuft of Hair and PWYF are non-negotiable. The rest is up to you, considering what you have available. I strongly suggest Corrupt Intervention. Ruin, possibly in combo with Surveillance, is not as good an alternative anymore, but it's ok in indoor maps, due to totem spawns. Other good-to-decent choices to complete the build are: M&A to get some easier stalking while in EW2, Discordance for multiple targets to stalk, Whispers for the early and endgame, Brutal Strength because survivors tend to drop pallets early when they realize what you're doing (for the same reason Enduring and Skill Fury are not that great for this), Fire-up because you WILL lose gens going for this achievement, Bitter Murmur for the same reason, Deerstalker to slug the next-to-last survivor to prevent a hatch escape (remember that you then have to pick up the slug, and drop repeatedly if they don't wiggle, until they escape grasp, otherwise you can't tombstone them. Try to reach an area where you can chase them more easily when doing this), Insidious if you want to camp the slug or get tricky near the last gens (that's really evil, which fits the job description). The best map for this is Gideon, imo. Spies from the Shadows is better than Whispers on this map, if you planned on using the latter. However, it's been done on every map. I did it on Pale Rose.

Go around stalking and try to get your PWYF stacks. You can give someone a quick easy hit, if the situation presents itself and you don't have stacks, just to get some stalling. Otherwise, don't waste time chasing, stalk as much as you can. Someone suggests to actually try to hook early game, but I disagree. Tombstone makes you slower, so you'll need a really easy target at worst, and you run an augmented risk that they ragequit, making the achievement impossible. Even the deception factor would be negligible, considering that your surprise advantage will be gone after the first kill anyway. When in EW3, remember to get very close and just tap m1 to trigger the tombstone animation. It's better if you try after rank reset. Inexperienced survivors not only are less efficient at repairing gens, but they're also less likely to try to hop into lockers to counter your tombstone.

BONUS: you can try pretending you're AFK and tricking the survivor into giving you easy stalk, if you feel daring enough.

    Good luck.

Thank you very much for the in-depth guide and I'll be keeping this all in mind when I work on these! I even have it copy and pasted on my trophy document. ^_^

Out of curiosity do you have all the achievements/trophies? If so which one was the hardest for you?

"Complete 4 generators while using the perk Dark Sense" yeah, uh, not gonna happen outside of a fully coordinated SWF squad, which a killer is gonna SWEAT ALL OVER.

"2 kills in ECG with NoED" so I'm just gonna lower my standards, and let people do their objective outside of a farming match. Great.

"Sacrifice 4 people in the basement. Must be done in the same match." So, lots of survivors will just DC when they see a basement. You'll also have to basically camp it, and people, myself included even as killer, despise doing that.

This is why I put forward the idea to skip the challenges for a cost and not receive any rewards.

I can agree on the basement one since that's out of your control. Dc's should count towards it while IMO the others are not that bad.

You only have to be on the gens when they go off for the dark sense one so as long as you're always with someone using a perk like bond, you should be alright. It took me I think 4 games and of those I failed I still had 3 gens done. It might take some games but it's very doable.

Noed EGC is actually pretty easy. Just throw on Blood Warden along with NOED, slug someone after gens are done, open gates and you're all set. If you get potatoes, just two hook everyone and mess around until they eventually get the gens done and then it's even easier.

As far as the OP goes, you could try using a slowdown Freddy build. Thana, Dying Light, Pop and maybe Surveillance/Discordance. Use jump rope and swing chains as add-ons and that should give you plenty of slowdown so you can focus on ending the game as quick as possible. Bring an Ebony if you want as well and just keep going until you get it.

You could also try someone like Oni or Billy and use a slugging build. Doctor can slug pretty good as well since people can't heal in tier 3 madness.

  • It's just what you see in lower ranks. A lot of killers when they start out don't really have any alternative besides hardcore camping and tunneling otherwise they'll lose. Some just don't know any better as they're just starting.

As someone who plays both sides in red, I rarely ever see a red rank facecamper. Like, they pretty much don't exist unless you did something to piss them off or you've been on the hook a while so they're going to guarantee your stage 2 or even death. Facecamping won't get you pips and it won't get you points so the majority of them are all in lowerish ranks as they should be.

Facecamping is incredibly boring for the killer as well so most of your higher rank people who enjoy interactions or want to actually play the game will never do it without some underlying reason.

Point being, try and get to red ranks and you should see a lot of the face campers disappear.

  • If you're pressing the button too fast it can kill you as well which happened to me a bunch. After I started pressing in rhythm with the onscreen prompt I noticed a major difference and it rarely happens now.

I do think they should change it to either holding the button or have it be automatic and just push a button to let go.

  • Demo is probably the most universally liked killer. There are definitely people who dislike him but I think most people love him or at the very least don't hate him.

Myers is also liked a lot but I've also seen plenty of people complain about his addons.

It's very rare to see someone complain about Demo though and most of the complaints I have seen are more about the person playing him and not the killer itself.
