  • Franklins no question. Unless I'm going for a certain build type, I always use it and I cry tears of joy when I see a white ward.

  • Dark Devotion is meh. I've never really given it a proper chance though so I guess I'm pretty neutral with it.

I love I'm All Ears. I just wish the cooldown was a tad less.

PWYF is nice. It's fun little staple of some build. I don't think it's a we should always run it but it's nice.

I think the fact that they give you a penalty for getting kicked because of "Rank update error" is a bit BS.

Beyond that so far I think the system is in a good place.

Does it always give you the penalty? I had my internet randomly crash for a couple seconds which then caused the game to give me a Rank Update Error. It only took me a minute to get back in the game but I didn't have any kind of penalty for DCing.

Wow.... I never use Legion and because of the advice tried once, played like crap and got 2k yet somehow finished the challenge!?!? lol, something is up with that because I did worse on every level....but I'm not complaining because I'm just happy to be done with the challenge

Glad you were able to get it done and yeah, that's just how his power works. It's easy gains on Chaser/Malicious which some other killers have a harder time with.

  • Wreckers yard and Shelter woods are IMO two of the most balanced maps for almost any Killer.

Wreckers yard has a strong basement with gens being really close and some even being in dead zones. The survivors also have a lot to work with and you can have some long games of back and forth on that map if you don't overly commit.

Shelter Woods is simply really bland. The map is on the bigger size so gen protecting is harder but the survivors don't really have much to work with and there are a lot of dead zones.

  • @TheDiz said:

but I missed iridescent because of a couple survivor's healing..wouldn't it be worse with legion?

No, recovering from deep wounds doesn't count against it and if you focus only on hitting as many people as you can with frenzy, you can guarantee an easy iridescent in chaser and malicious. You don't even have to bother doing anything else and it makes Legion one of the easiest killers to rank up with.

Edit: Actually thinking on it I'm not sure if recovering from deep wounds counts as a heal but even if it does, two hitting someone with frenzy does count as two hits so you're still gaining.

  • I have no problems with the last guy getting hatch with a key considering the doors are normally close together and they have little chance. Bonus points if they find it in a chest during EGC. What I don't like is when three people are left and you have a good 3-gen where they're not going to be able to do much and then all of sudden they all escape. That is kind of an annoyance.

I think keys and moris should both be reworked a little.

  • It's pretty unfun for survivors to run into a full slug build and I find it boring to use one as killer. I'll slug now and then if the situation calls for it but I never go in planning to slug everybody.

That said, it depends on one's definition of toxic. People think camping and tunneling are toxic but there are times and places where that's the play.

There are perks built around slugging so using them to slug is the entire point. Using a slug build is pretty similar to using Noed I think. People are going to complain about it and depending on who you ask, they'll say it's unfair or shouldn't be in the game.

There are counters around slugging as well and I've seen a few killers that never get a single hook because they tried slugging all game.

All of this said, you do you mate. If you want a run a slug build, run a slug build; don't let people getting mad stop you from having fun.

People getting caught by the killer shouldn’t be so penalized then if it’s that easy to find survivors. Ie hook camping, baiting, short chase durations because it’s too easy for him to catch you with speed, going down miles away from the vault You vaulted through and the killer is still on the other side of it. It’s just bad. Lag kills me most of the time it’s just a penalizing game for getting caught. I wanna play but more often than not I feel like DCing too after seeing my whole team DC one by one. It’s depressing. Killers don’t need to come in and mow people down. Are we mowing down gens now? Not with toolboxes that break as soon as you use it on a gen. Or not with thanatophobia and one guy on a gen literally takes forever 😂 it’s not fun doing gens anyways and you guys want them slower? I want to escape more often solo surviving. It’s too easy for killers is all I’m saying .

Please keep on topic. This has little to do with the doctor.

Removing the Chargetime Increase from the Range Add Ons was a Buff.

    Iridescent King got buffed.

Putting reversed Skill Checks into the Basekit was a Buff.

Adding Add Ons which reduce the Cooldown after Shock Therapy was a Buff.

All of it not really needed IMO.

While they are buffs, I'd argue the only significant one is the cooldown one. Base kit reverses means people will always expect them and not be caught off guard which will let people get used to them more and not mess them up in the future.

Iri king is easier now in that you just don't have to shock each person 5 times. It's still the same add-on though.

Getting rid of the charge times were nice and I could see them letting you maybe get a shock off at a window you otherwise wouldn't have but they don't really change the standard pallet loop game. They make his beam add-on a bit nicer to use.

Cooldown on shock going off is pretty interesting. If you use both add-ons it basically gives him his old shock back which gives you a bit more room in timing your shocks to block pallets. I could see people maybe getting annoyed by this one but everything else is pretty minor IMO.

a killer can have map pressure by just ending chases fast what doc does very easily pls he has his enormous terror raduis that make you always wonder if he coming to you and his skillchecks passives that can screw you very easily

    yes spirit need skill

no it isnt , his lunge is one the longest in the game alongside freddy and tier 3 myers

Doctor and Freddy have standard lunge range. Freddy's looks weird because of his height and weapon size. Doctor's lunge also just kind of looks weird but it's just the animation. The range is the same.

Myers tier 3 does have a longer range however.

  • Agreed. Clown gets some of the best cosmetics in the game.

  • I've only played a few games as him so far as I want to get a few better perks but I had an absolute blast. Got owned in one of them, did the owning in another and had a rather neutral one. Even when I was getting destroyed I was having a blast trying to do quick shots and other cool little things.

I'm hoping I'll still have as much fun with him when the thrill eventually wears off. I loved Demo too death when he came out but after the thrill wore off I became kind of neutral towards him. Here's hoping he keeps that fun factor. 😀

  • I see your thread has shown back up. ^_^

This is an interesting idea but I don't think survivors need any more perks that would boost gen speed right now, even though it'd only be a small increase.

One of the biggest uses of this perk before was to counter ruin for people that had a hard time with skill checks. As it is now, I honestly think it should be reworked entirely or given a slightly different effect.

What about increasing the time to maybe a minute per token and the token effect instead becomes a permanent increase to the side of the great skill check bar, doubling in size at 4 tokens or around a ds skill check size. The permanency would give the perk an ever so slight buff but have the same effect although it'd still be rather weak thinking on it.

As for a slight rework, how about you keep the 15 second terror radius per token but then have the effect be every time you get a great skill check you can see the killers aura for a few seconds. This would make it a neat little killer tracking perk similar to alert but tied to skill checks instead of pallets or kicking gens. It'd also fit the name Stake Out pretty well.

In fact you could even combine both effects together in a minor way.

  • There's nothing wrong with just letting someone escape. People do it all the time, give someone the hatch or let them go because they did something funny or they liked their outfit, etc.

If you're talking about people purposefully getting into each others game to help, I don't think it's common at all. Me and my buddy tried that once on our mains and an alt for about an hour or so and we were never able to get in each others games.

Edit: Also for clarification purposes, if we did get into each others games we had no ill intentions. If it happened on our mains we were going to play a serious game and if it was on the alts we were just going to meme around and not hook anyone.

Double Edit: You can probably report someone for intentional griefing but unless it's a common occurrence on the players part with them having multiple reports, I don't think anything would happen.

  • I'd recommend doing it on haddonfield. Hills can be really jankey but the roofs work pretty well. You have to be in a chase the entire time as well. If the chase stops mid fall it won't count.

  • According to a streamer I saw it means you have a bad connection/high ping to the server your in.

  • Because people like to pick and choose things to support their side. A streamer gets steamrolled and doesn't kill anyone and now the game is unbalanced because popular streamer should always get that 3/4k and never lose. Survivors should never win against them and those ten 4k's in a row prove nothing except a majority of players in the game are bad at it but hey, the game where the streamer used a meme build, 2-hooked everyone and then decided to get greedy at the end and they all escaped makes survivor really unbalanced you know.

Don't even get me started on those silly survivors who lead you around for 4 minutes and then most of the gens are done but I have to keep committed on that one guy and not try and protect that super sweet 3-gen I just noticed.

People are just silly sometimes. I admit at the highest level of gameplay a survivor team will beat a killer for the majority of matches, no argument at all but when people pick and choose 1 game of a streamers 20 where they lose and use that to try and show unbalance is silly. Hell, the streamer could very well face the same team again and curbstomp them this time around but that just means they weren't trying or they messed up. The streamers ability didn't matter at all in that situation apparently.

If you really want to show unbalance you'd need a more controlled environment and have multiple games played in said environment. As it is now, there are so many variables that can affect an outcome of a match from the map itself, perks, gen setup, pallet spawns, split second decisions, killer used, items they find in chests, etc that it becomes ludicrous to pick one game out of many where those things were all against you and then say the game is unbalanced.

  • Cabbage Hag and Blue Cabbage Hag are the 2nd and 3rd best outfits in the game just coming behind Elephant Clown.

No opinion on most of Billy's outfits but I do love his beach day one.

I don't really play either of them much so I don't have any cool combos for them. :(

I think thats exactly what happened. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    No worries. I was confused by the same thing when I first joined the forums and my posts would just disappear only to show up randomly later on. ^_^;

  • If you edited it, it might have to be re-approved by the mods. When you only have a few posts and or are fairly new, editing your post will sometimes cause it to be flagged and it will have to get approved by a mod. It happened to me when I first joined so if you give it a couple hours or so, it will probably randomly show up.

  • On ps4 I rarely ever see Hag to the point even Nurse shows up more than her. Though to be fair I play mostly at night and there are two decent Nurse players I see now and then around that time.

  • I honestly think Demo is the most balanced.

Demo has basically the whole shabang with his kit minus an instadown. Small amount of stealth, map pressure and awareness of survivors, is able to counter some loops and can fake out his power forcing mistakes. Demo can do it all without being overly oppressive and OP and I think it makes him the funnest killer to go against when the person is a pro as well as being the most balanced.

I don't need to when there are plenty of streamers already showcasing "Their dodging skills" vs. Deathslinger. You can look them up on Youtube, or twitch easily enough, but just incase you don't, here's Tru3 doing it:

    https://youtu.be/BiW33V7TLqM?t=249

Now you can say that the person playing the Deathslinger in this video is just bad at it, or that Tru3 is just too good, but in actuality, the limitations of the Deathslinger are what's hurting him most in this example. Every time he fires off his shot, Tru3 not only gets a split second chance to dodge, but also has time to gain distance from the killer every time he presses the "Reload" button. Tru3 has a 2 Huge chases against the Deathslinger in which 2 gens are completed before he finally gets hit and downed, despite the fact that he's using No Mither. If he didn't have the No Mither disadvantage, he'd have lead the killer on even longer chases. The Deathslinger even tries to shoot him multiple times, some of which Tru3 Dodges without even looking behind him because of the Deathslingers limited range and need for a precision aim. @Ascended4Head Are you seriously complaining that this is an OP/unfun killer with the plethora of examples from streamers like Tru3 that are in direct opposition to your statement? Or is this just another B8/joke post that I've fallen for, Like many others have already commented?

While I agree the new killer is not OP by any means, that guy playing him in the video wasn't very good at all and is a bad example to show the killers weakness. He missed a few shots when Tru3 wasn't even looking at him and broke pallets right away. The killer should have played some of those pallets and he would have had a much better chance of getting him instead of simply chasing him down using a 110 killer which is a big no-no. At 6:55 for example, that is an awful pallet against this killer and Tru3 should be dead about 10 times over there. As another point against this guy he slugged the No Mither. -_-

Again, I agree the killer has counterplay and is far from OP but all that video shows is a player that's using him for the first time or at least doesn't have the best grasp on how to use his power at loops.

  • Haddenfield is probably your best bet but Coal Tower or Disturbed Ward work well. Hills are too small of a fall to count. I think the lab room will count as well as the Game map but I never tested them.

It does seem like you're losing chase right before you land. My buddy was able to get one to count for him with that spot but the killer was right on top of him.

  • You have a dream you're getting stalked by Myers and he's speed hacking so you point at him to go away.

  • I believe it's 18 meters.

There are threads like that all the time. I make sure of it lol.

Right now its called Aim Dressing, they changed the name in the "tech stream"

Ahh did they change it? I remember seeing a Mod or maybe a Dev use the term animation enhancement a couple months ago or so. Didn't know they changed the name since then.

  • March 9th According to Peanits

    sdfsdsdaf.PNG

  • Disturbed Ward in my opinion. The map is big with a lot of things to play with as survivor. Rotten Fields is also pretty good just for its size alone.

  • All that post shows is they were mad which has little to do with the challenge on it's own. You could play as nice as possible and people still might freak out and yell at you for little reason.

Also, the person should be reported at that point, no matter what the killer did that survivor is in the wrong there.

  • Haven't seen an auto-aim thread in a while. I believe it's called Animation Enhancement by most people now as well as the "official" term the devs use. There was a stream talking about it some time back as well.

Here's a thread where a dev talks about it a bit.

    I dont ask for help.

The End Game must kick in right after 5 gens are done.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1143665#Comment_1143665

You are rank 20, if you think that slugging red rank players is so easy, and slugging is not a solution. Its a boring game.

Okay, so you're just complaining that the challenge is annoying then? I'm not entirely sure what the point of the post is. The challenge is to get EGC sacrifices. Having EGC start when 5 gens are done wouldn't make any sense because it'd give survivors very little time to open the doors and having sacrifices count toward EGC when it hasn't started yet also wouldn't make sense and would defeat the entire purpose of it.

Also, what? I know you were talking to the other guy and I agree that slugging can be boring; it's still one of the most effective strategies a killer can use.

  • -Go into a game and play normally and hope you get a group of potatoes.

-If you do get a bad group, two hook everyone and then pretend to play bad until they finish the gens, slugging if you have to. Be sure to slug when one gen is left to hopefully have at least a single slug on the ground.

-Have Noed and Bloodwarden (deerstalker would also be nice) as a surprise while patrolling gates. Try to get as many slugs as you can and when a gate is opened, bloodwarden them right away. If you have three slugs, just open a gate yourself and bloodwarden them.

-This should let you get at least two sacrifices as long as they don't run out instantly, more if you were able to multi slug them. I was able to get 3 end game sacrifices in back to back games with both games having 32000 points even with a single escape.

-You can do this against a good team but it is harder since you might not have everyone two hooked.

    Best of luck. ^_^

  • I disagree based on the devs own idea of two kills and two escapes as the norm. This means that in a perfect world through devs eyes, 5 gens will be done every game.

This means Noed isn't for bad killers but just par for the course since all gens should be done no matter what, meaning survivors should always assume it's in play. Do some bad killers use it to get kills they otherwise wouldn't have, yes. However it's not like good killers can't use it for backup when gens get done even though they played well. I don't care if you're a god tier killer, you're going to have games where all the gens are finished sometimes.

Also, plenty of perks give you info and other stuff for free without having to "earn" it anyway.

  • Frankies appreciates your support. <3

  • Weird. Before they updated that it used to be d-tier on the site if memory serves. I haven't been on there in a while though.

  • Probably the most efficient way is to use a bloodpoint build; BBQ, Distressing, Thrill, and Beast of Prey on whatever killer you have them on and then just spend the BP on another killer while using your best bloodpoint offerings.

Make sure to keep an eye out for the perks above while leveling and then switch when you have a killer at 50 to use their best bloodpoint offerings while leveling up yet another killer. Rinse and repeat until everyone is p3lv50. This would let you get the most out of whatever bloodpoint offerings you get while also letting you play every killer so it doesn't become stale.

  • I mean, for all we know it could be march 9th which is when the new tome comes out I believe? Puppers says he doesn't know the date and at this point, it'll come out whenever it comes out. Even if they have a planned date, they could delay it for whatever reason and that's probably why they don't release a date. They don't want to give a date and then delay it which would make everybody mad.

  • Seems like a pretty obvious speedhacker with it set to be just as fast as you. Either way, it has to be reported directly to the team, not the forums.

If I had to guess, they got mad two people we're dead so quick and decided to mess around.

    @OtakuBurrito said:

    So I have several questions:

Did she have spinechill? (That can account for some of the speed because rank 3 gives you 9% on everything you do but still that speed is strange especially since she can't have haste)

Why did you get randomly stunned?

Was she running lightweight? (But still scratches should have been left even at that distance)

Spinechill does not give you a running speedboost, that was Jane with headon, Lightweight doesn't have that level of effect.

  • @ZoneDymo said:

Holding the game hostage is reportable, you could record it and report them for it.

Apart from that I feel survivors not doing anything for X amount of time should give them crows

Is this really holding the game hostage though? Once the killer finds one of them the game will end. To me it seems more of a stalemate of the survivors not wanting to die but not being able to do anything about it, especially if they're not in an SWF. How many people are just going to kill themselves to give the random a chance at the hatch?

I agree something should be done to prevent situations like these but unless you can prove the survivors intent (being they wanted to simply waste time), it seems like this wouldn't really be a case of holding the game hostage.

Honestly, this situation is pretty close to a 3-gen killer that won't commit to chases. It just kind of ends up as a stalemate until one side simply gives up or powers through.

  • 5 gatekeeper and 5 unbroken since they minimum take 5 games each. All the challenges were relatively easy if not grindy for me this time and I didn't have issues with any of them. I was quite surprised actually.

  • The complaints and general salt levels both in game and on the forums.

I wouldn't have nearly as much fun if salt levels and forum complaints declined and I would have no choice but to leave if people started to be nice to each other and made constructive well thought-out posts. Franklins is not OP and I had better see 3 new topics disagreeing with me or I'm going to be livid.

  • The only thing that annoys me about that is that it's like showing an esports level team vs your normal player. All it proves is that a team who is good at the game is good at the game. Who could have guessed?

Hell, I bet a high level Nurse player using a sweaty af slug build with potential Noed for backup could probably 4k 100 games in a row or at least be really close to it. Once again all it would prove is that a high level player using high level stuff would do well.

Edit: Heck there's even some minor examples. Scott had 50 4k's as Oni as well as 32 4k's as speed limiter Bubba. Marth had 60 4k's as Clown. Admittedly the Marth games were from his hardcore series (meaning low rank) and the Bubba was not in a row perse. I'm not sure about the Oni ones, all he said was they're from 3 seperate streams, not sure if they were in a row or he played others in between?

Honestly, I'd love to see a depip squad go against the hardcore sweaty/sluggy nurse for 100 games on a neutral map, playing 5 or so games as a warm-up so both sides understand each others playstyles and perks. That would be far more valuable when it comes to determining balance, also far more entertaining a watch.

As a note, I do agree that at perfect performance, survivors are better than killer but using the Marth experiment as solid proof is silly when the majority of players aren't even close to that level in the first place.

  • I don't record every game but if something funny happens, I'll record it and then upload it to youtube for me to send to friends or look at in like 6 months for a chuckle.

  • Just as a direct response to your specific issues you listed.

Grab animation hasn't been fixed and it's worse then ever

Yeah, this sucks pretty bad but is more a server issue and giving survivor movement priority over the killer grab. You can still grab through windows easily but otherwise, yeah it sucks sometimes and I do hope they change something with how it calculates if you got the grab or not.

Totem spawns hasn't been changed on 60% of the maps

Totems can still spawn on line of sight of generators

I personally don't have any issues with totems. Yeah, sometimes you get unlucky and have a really bad spot but even if totems are really well hidden, once you know the spawn locations it doesn't matter anyway. It's a quick check and the entire tile is covered whether good or bad. Against experienced players it doesn't matter where the totems are as they'll be found quick with perks helping as well. I do think messing with totem spawns might help some newer killers though since they'll stay up longer.

Swfs are still a thing and there is no real reason any killer would want to go against one

I honestly don't think SWF groups are as big a deal as people make them out to be. Yes, you may get a death squad every now and then, no your standard SWF is not some unbeatable force of nature. Most of the time they tend to be overly altruistic, just mess around or are just standard level players. I'll take a normal SWF over a group of experienced solo players anyday.

Gens are getting done too quickly, you can have the shortest chase in your life and when you reach the hook you'll sill be able to lose 3 generators

No argument there, gens go quick and there isn't enough time unless you're a high tier killer or a high tier player. 3-gening with POP or slugging does help mitigate it and you can still snowball with a lot of killers no matter how many gens are done. That said, I think maps are the bigger problem with gens getting done quick. Smaller maps give you a lot more room to go on chases and protect gens while big maps just waste your time unless you're a high movement speed killer.

Ds is still a dominating perk, where survivors are immune to do whatever they want for 1 minute

Honestly, DS is at its worst at endgame if everyone else is gone and only the DS remains while they slowly crawl out. Any other time in the game, you shouldn't even be worrying about the person that got unhooked. Slug them, ignore them or eat it if you have time. At end game, you should be going for hook trades and slugging, not directly attacking the person that just got off due to BT/DS. Get some slugs, chase the others out and don't get overly greedy for kills.

I do think they should change it to where if you hook someone else, the DS is no longer active. I've eaten a few DS's and I don't even remember hooking the person in the first place.

Matchmaking is broken, and now it will be hidden to "solve" this issue

Yes, this is a big one and probably my biggest complaint of the game at the moment. I do the think the new system will be better though, it certainly can't get worse then it is.

As for your topic title, why would they? Plenty of people enjoy playing killer for whatever reason. Don't take the game seriously and just mess around and have fun in anyway you can. If the game is actively bothering you to play it then it's probably not for you and you should either move on or find another way to play that would make you happier.

  • This reminded me I actually wanted to do a meme game using Myers. You would hide in place wherever you spawn in and you're not allowed to look around. If you're in a really bad spot like facing a wall, you can correct yourself at least.

You would use the perks, Noed, Rancor, Haunted Grounds, and Make your Choice. The idea is you're only allowed to move if you have the exposed effect someone. You can't use perma tier 3 but everything else is allowed.

On Topic, AFK killers suck but at the end of the day, just do gens and move on and report them if you want. Not much else you can do.

  • @Mtom912 said:

Was gonna edit this into my first post after I did the maths, but apparently can’t edit on mobile after new forums, but if I did it right, if you do every single hook in end game you can kill just 1 survivor and get max sacrifice

Very nice, thank you for doing the math! ^_^

That's pretty interesting that 3 people can escape and yet you can still get max points as unlikely as that would be.

  • In my own experience, when a killer uses BPS, they normally sweat pretty hard and are using really good add-ons. Even had a slugging wraith use BPS; he ended up with like 13000 points as the games was over really quick.

1 … 25 26 27 28 29 … 32
