It would just create another potential source of bugs.
I'd rather just avoid that
I meaaaaaaaan.. true, but that's on the developers, not on the idea :/
-
Always said pro. Passive abilities would add a bit of fresh air to the stale state survivors are (skins, literally).
They don't have to be gamebreaking nor strong, and they don't have to be unique to every survivor.
I can imagine two being like enter lockers or crouch 5% faster, or heal 3% faster or even reduce/increase chance of skill checks by 1% literally small stuff

This one time when I was nice to a survivor and didn't slug them when they got unhooked but instead chased the unhooker, and the unhooked survivor actually threw themselves between me and the unhooker and was throwing down pallets and vaulting them over and over trying to force a grab.
It's still one of the more dickish things I've seen. I lost track of the unhooker because of that.
But, anyway, crap like that is why I'm against pausing the timer during a chase. During the main part of the match yeah, it means they're not doing gens, but during the EGC it just means DS will be even stronger. That's also why I don't think DS should remain active until another survivor is hooked, because during the EGC you can quickly end up with no one else to hook.
Unless part of the new conditions also include DS not activating once the exit gates are powered. Then one of these changes might be reasonable.
Although, with DS deactivating when killers hook another survivor, I mean, why would survivors be so eager to put their perk's deactivation in the killer's hands? The killer could damn well abuse that and get around DS entirely just by slugging someone right after they're unhooked and then downing the unhooker. Right now, DS deactivating before the 60 seconds is up is totally in the survivor's hands. Seems like a really bad idea to give killers control over your perk.
If that happens, honestly, eat the stun and tunnel them out of the game. They were really asking to be chased after all, no?
I'm still of the idea that the only change DS needs is to be useable twice per game.

Thankfully, the new struggle system has the bonus of interfering with what you are describing.
If i get unhooked in time when i clearly don't want to be there, i just alt tab and do what i was doing while in lobby. It's not like I'm gonna keep playing

you can still die on hook by not completing the skill checks, you lose a bunch of the bar each time one is missed.
We both know that's not gonna be the case most of the time and that someone will make it to the unhook before the bar is over
-
@Mandy said:
I don't think this will be possible, to have both systems present I'm afraid.
Then i hope it won't be introduced at all. I want to be free to kms on hook, not be forced to stay in a match i don't want to be part of

Idk man even survivor is starting to become a snoozefest I really don't blame people for starting to leave the game
Steam charts kinda show the opposite. According to steam's community hub, more than 49k players are online now. Thing is this is exactly what the casual playerbase is made of: people who come, people who go
-
Dude bet you feel so smart now that you asked this question, you made it, you cracked the code, you uncovered the secret that bhvr is trying so hard to keep hidden from us, the truth is revealed
... or actually because survivor appeals more to casuals who just want to play with friends, instead of solo. Mindblowing right?

This is all you need. Scorpionz is a really, really good Killer Main (far too small compared to other Killer players when it comes to Viewer Count, IMO) and he mains Pig.
My personal advice is to not focus on Slowdown too much when you make your build. IMO Pig does not need Slowdown, she has her own Build-In Slowdown, even tho it is RNG-based. So you might get good value out of it OR you can have 4 people escaping their Trap on the first try. So at max, you want to use Corrupt Intervention.
IMO Whispers and M&A should be staple on Pig, it allows to come close to a Gen which is worked on and maybe get a Grab. If not a grab, you at least will most likely get a Hit, because you come really close to them.
Pig is a really underrated Killer, some players call her weak, but she is decent - there are at least 10 Killers who are stronger than her, but you can have good games with her AND I usually have fun when playing Pig.
@HectorBrando said:
Dont tunnel trapped Survivors because they are not working on gens but if they happen to run into you or you see them in a box and they refuse to leave it go smack them, its free pressure even if you dont hook them.
When you down someone look if there are any nearby boxes where you are going to hook, if there are 2 maybe try to hook farther away or even dont use the RBT in that scenario for he could get unhooked and get the RBT removed very fast.
Dont abuse the crouch, while it gives you stealth it also slows you down a lot and restricts pressure, something Jigsaw already lacks so use it on loops or when you have positive confirmation someone is somewhere.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2082791#Comment_2082791
Ignore this, traps stall the game and help you reaching that last gen slower, especially if there are several trapped Survivors at once for they block eachother at boxes.
Basically these two comments summarize all you need to know. Watch scorpionz's guide, try to avoid using gen regression perks (as you have already a built in slowdown), don't abuse your crouch and use your dash at unsafe loops (and even safe ones)

I have seen two people complain about ds after the nerf. One had a thread where he defended tunneling. The other has a freddy profile picture.

Infectious fright is strong, but not too strong.
I didn't say too strong, i said stronger
Wait nevermind, I'm tired, thought u were talking about IF. *They* said it, i don't remember in what stream though. It was definitely a q&a
-
They said once that surge is ok like this otherwise it'd be too strong, yet other perks that work in a similar way are way stronger already and have no cooldown (infectious fright, who they are totally ok with, and i can recall not queen saying it's fine without cd here in the forums). Honestly, from a survivor pov I'd rather have IF with a CD and not surge. From killer pov, neither

Well there's Samantha's "the best spirit" guide on YouTube that can be summarized in yeah just buy these 2000Β£ headphones but still use stridor and the game will play itself
Not kidding

Remove bloodlust, period?
-
I had that too. I thought the 2 survivors were just so close to the exit line that autoaim would bug and I would just hit the exit "wall" but I guess not?
-
You don't need to buff single killers directly to make them stronger what you can do is nerf the opposing side.
Are you going to ignore all the map reworks that made most of them full of deadzomes (except maybe the game only?), the removal of infinites, or just blankly the ds nerf that finally arrived?
Blight is one of the strongest killers out there, and one doesn't need exploits to make him stronger. I just hope this bullshit will be fixed soon so people will shut the ######### up about it

I will call it a mechanic because its already there, fully made, fleshed out, and has been in the game for 6 months, if they are already to lazy to do something about it within that time frame they should just accept it rather than make a claim that its an exploit and leave it for the next year and a half before actually doing something about it. It increases the skill ceiling of a killer and is fun to use and watch others pull off. Unintended mechanic or not it definitly makes blight one of the best killers in the game with the most potential for both fun and competitive play alike. And if they want to move the game towards a more competitive scene with mmr I don't see why they should remove a mechanic that adds more skill to the game.
Nurses bugs have been there for almost two years already and they're much more game breaking than that, your point is invalid: the devs ARE lazy

@bjorksnas said:

But j-flicking isn't stretched res its a whole other beast, it is a mechanic that has counterplay to it, unlike something like strechted res which is the only reason I can stand by j-flicking because a mechanic that is both fun for the game and raises the skill ceiling of a killer even if unintentional should be accepted for the fact that it adds more depth to a character and their mechanics while not trivializing all survivor interaction with it
Until and unless devs won't change their statement on the jflick, it will not be a mechanic, stop calling it as such

So you would want ruin to be buffed so that it is passive hexless perk ? Gen rushing happens even when ruin stays up and killer who tunnels/camps gets no value out of ruin so it might as well stay up whole match every time.
If you get "fair" killer who goes for 12 hook game, he gets passive ruin to help him againt gen rushing and if you get hard tunneler/camper, he gets nothing.
So I ask again, do you really think ruin would be healthy without beiing a hex ?
With these kinds of arguments you just remind me of Kaitlin Bennett, well done sir
-
@Kebek said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2063607#Comment_2063607
It means you can go overboard with overbuffing perks that promote "healthy" gameplay.
But that doesn't sound like overboarding. Tunneling can happen regardless of one day stun, and a survivor is completely useless to the team as long as they have it up: it's all a matter of killers choice whether to keep tunneling him or not
-
@Kebek said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2063536#Comment_2063536
The same thing like what's wrong with making ruin not a hex. You don't get value from it if you don't camp/tunnel so it's a healthy change.
I honestly don't get your point
-

My idea was for it to be distance and time based.
If the Killer is within X distance for X seconds, BT can be activated
Same thoughts, but I'd consider that a buff
-
@Pulsar said:
I just hope BT gets nerfed.
I hate the design of that perk,it rewards unskillful play and does literally nothing against camping.
Meanwhile I hope it gets buffed to not being affected by TR, rather by raw distance
-
@Kebek said:
Don't forget about the nerf haggling.
"DS is too weak now. It should activate twice etc, if it's supposed to be anti-tunneling perk."
What's wrong with that? It's perfectly reasonable to me, considering how tunneling works
-
Yesterday i played 9 survivor games, and got tunneled out of them 4 times. This was proper tunneling, with the killer either camping there and waiting for the unhook (wraith) dropping his chance as soon as I got unhooked just to come back and look for me (2x trickster, 1x nurse).
Of these 4 games, 3 didn't have an obsession. It must be said that I had another 2 games without obsession where i was ready for the "experience" but somehow no tunneling happened.
In either case, DS is ######### useless now. With it not being an aggressive perk anymore, it should be useable twice in a match, not once only.

Yeah windows is so dang good at telling u what pallets ur team mates have used up. But can I ask why detectives hunch over something like, idk iron will? Just curious.
Hex builds are extremely common and in solo queue I simply have no time to run around and look for totems, it's just better to see directly where they are. Sometimes instead of hunch i also use alert too, it's just so nice to see what path the killer is taking while i make distance or where they're at while I'm on a gen
I use iron will in more tryhard/meta builds or on survivors with annoying voices
-

I just want to know what the hell kind of matches you're getting that TWINS is the most played Killer.
It's the killer he played most from what I read

So you're complaining about survivors meta perk and relieved that they'll get nerfed while having the upper hand on most of the games you played?
@slim0b said:

It just means he's a good killer.
If you're a regular killer main with a lot of hours invested into the game you should also notice you win most of your matches. What does this say?
Game's tilted towards the killer in solo queue, towards survivors in SWF. Solution? Buff solo queue by adding more communication methods, and buff killers accordingly.
Where did he say they were solo queuers or swf? You're just making assumptions to fit your own point of view
-
When a team mate approaches the gen I'm working on walking (because MUH SPRINT BURST) and proceeds to explode it within 10 seconds
And it happens way too frequently.
-
My main build is
Dead hard, WGLF, Windows of opportunity, detectives hunch
WoO is because of soloqueue. It's extremely efficient and useful, it became a crutch for me tbh. Sometimes i remove hunch for something else (quest perks, borrowed time or kindred)
-
It would be a great idea, there are so many useless things that I will never use
-
Imagine using slowdown perks on nurse
Ew

I got told by a survivor that I was not very good for my rank the other day. A survivor that not only did I kill but only 1 escaped by hatch. My top killers all hit P3 level 50 so at the current moment I am on a 6 killer rotation with killers that I don't have hardly any experience with but I got lucky and got BBQ on them so it's there time to be leveled. My top killers are pig, fred, huntress, and bubba and there all out of my rotation. i am now learning/using Doc, Myers, Clown, Demo, Plague, and Legion. All around level 30 with less than 3 purple perks (not good ones for most part). You really don't know the circumstances of the person you are playing just because there rank is this does not mean you are getting there best game. Survivor or killer.
Your point is flawed for the simple fact that u assume "killing a survivor" = "being better than them"

Surge was in the Shrine 2 weeks ago, so it's still restricted from showing again for another week at least, then you have to wait for RNG

I was on a business trip. I had no way of playing dbd for like 3 weeks. Are you actually kidding me?
