From my understanding, they can look at the data of the match to find evidence of lagswitching beyond the video evidence.
@Peanits Could you give a bit more explanation on this issue?
-
@fcc2014 I ran solo almost all night last night. I actually had 3 matches where I powered all gens myself because the rest were running around looking for lanterns. Kinda annoys me I personally got them all 20 points and they did nothing, but its how the event is structured.
-
They dont. I dont face camp and tunneling is a means to an end, removing said player from game. Its a game, I dont take the actions of a survivor personal so I dont feel the need to "punish" a survivor for toxic behavior. Unless you are a Dwight, I loathe all Dwights.
-
@fcc2014 I agree with that. As killer, I just play my game normal and did not worry about the event. If I stumbled on a lantern, great. I will say as killer, this event should promote much less camping as you want to hook survivors as many times as possible to get points. As survivor, I been seeing the same thing. Again, I play my usual game. If I grab a lantern, its with one gen left. Now dont get me wrong, if you are hooked after the gates are powered, I will leave you and exit if I got a lantern.

It takes away what makes them special. When i see a bunny mask or Feng's shirt or Davids jacket i know that person as been around a bit and played. As cool as the Hallowed Blight Cosmetics are. I got my outfits but when i see others use them did they buy them or grind them in the event? It just makes them less special.
I feel the same way. Also, if I can grind for and get pretty much all cosmetics since console release with my limited gaming time, I cannot see why others cannot. They give you two weeks to do the grind.

I love both Feng's and the Huntress full outfits. I like Ace's head and that was the only thing I bothered to get for him.

Just because I am a huge Halloween fan, Michael's is my favorite. But for sheer brutality, I would pick Clown or Hag. They are both rather intense.

How is it fair that a killer who is not even trying to look for a survivor to find a survivor because of some stupid crows while someone is hooked?
It takes 60 seconds for the first crow to appear. If you cannot find a way out before that, I see no issue with the spawn.
-
@ReneAensland Just because you want something to have a different definition, does not mean it does. I want dog to actually mean god, but it just will not happen.
-
Camping sucks but can be countered by smart play (not gen rushing) to secure the unhook. Now some are just too stubborn to take the bait, then you wave to your friend and go to a gen.
Face camping though, does not exist any more. You can try to change the definition, but face camping was making an unhook impossible due to the killer hit box. That was changed, thus face camping has been removed.
-
I see no issue with NOED on either side. I rarely run it, and when I do, its because I see a toolbox brigade in my lobby. It may be a crutch, but its one that usually is broken 75% of the time in my matches before I can use it. Its high risk, high reward.
As a survivor, i assume every killer I play is running it, and I cleanse every totem I see. I do not assume other survivors are thinking as I do. If I see it get activated, you can bet my ass is out the gate quickly. I wont be giving you a 4K this game.
Survivors reward killers when running NOED by being stupid and being way too altruistic. Sorry, if the killer has NOED and you are hooked, I will be seeing you later.
-
Simple, move forward, hit them, they run out. If they dont, keep swinging. Either you gonna end up hitting them or they going to end up running out. Problem solved.
-
No, the Clown is not over powered. He is decent at best. His power can be mildly annoying but certainly not OP

You dont get points for it. I personally dont consider it toxic, I consider it stupid. If a survivor can time it right, they can unhook someone right after the killer hits the hooked victim. Great if you are running borrowed time.

So nothing that should have been a red flag. Yet a dodge happened.
Do not get me wrong, I used to dodge some lobbies if I felt it was a SWF team. Now I only dodge if it is a name I know is a much higher rank playing in a SWF to try to bully, which is rare since my memory sucks. I try to play in all lobbies and make the best of whatever is thrown at me. If I realize you are a SWF and possibly a bully squad, I switch things up to make it fun for me, like using the Clown and bottle bomb people all game. This does not work for all people, as I stopped playing a serious/competitive game long ago. Just remember, not all SWFs are bully squads. Some times a lobby full of flashlights are actually solos. If necessary, bring in Franklin and swing away.
As I was reading this I got dodged, again. Now I can but laugh... heh
I swear it wasnt me. I am still at work. I cant dodge lobbies right now.

Nea is my go to survivor. Never understood the hate but I do love the "Nea is a killer" meme.
-
If you couldn't hook them, they earned the hatch. Earn your 4k.
-
It's a mixed bag. Had games it was never touched and had takes it was spawned right next to a survivor. It's a high risk high reward perk. I personally would be against it being an offering.
-
Its there because it was an easy to abuse system to let other survivors know what perks were being ran, even by solos. It was not uncommon for solos to send info to each other after one left the match. Honestly, it was one of the reason I turned off msging on PS4. Got tired of the times I was running survivor seeing "He has NOED" pop up on my PS4 App. Rather annoying and extremely unfair to the killer.

I open the exit gate then go for the unhook. That way if needed, I can turn tail and run away with an escape plan in place.

Why are you being so sarcastic towards me? I'm sorry i offended you with my suggestion mate
Some people LITERALLY can't play through ruin, and it'll make them useless in the game - which is why they then spend time not doing gens but searching for the totem, some times it's hard sometimes it's easy.
My wife can bulldoze through ruin without batting an eye. I see ruin running, I start looking for a nice plot to bury my dead body.
-
Personally, I think ruin is fine like it is, as with all hexes. They are high risk, high reward as they should be. Using offerings kinda neglects that aspect of them. That said, I would be all for offerings that would create a fake hex totem on the map.

I am thankful for the hours of fun this has given myself and my wife. We typically game together, trading off the controller after each match. Instead of watching movies as our few moments of free time, we goof off, laugh at each other and play this game. In an odd way, it has brought us a bit closer.

The lobby dodging is getting a bit out of hand on PS4. Killer sees two of any item and they dodge. Finally said screw it and ran games KYF with a few friends.

I cant wait until 360ing doesnt happen in realtime...... will be lots of funOkay, tsulan has a very valid point, but what you’re complaining about is blatant host privledge, stop being so prissy. Even with absolutely insane fps drop on my PS4 I hit 360’s. You need to get better if you can’t hit them. I’m not gonna sacrifice a fix to dodging, connection issues, lag switching, cheating, faster bans, and most of all..... removing a killer on ps4’s ability to delete survivor save data by closing application... all because your ass can’t back up a few feet and not lunge into the next dimension. There is way too much to lose by not including dedicated servers.
That PS4 issue with killer dcs is one of the biggest reason I am looking forward to dedicated servers. I hope the switch will finally fix that issue. Lag switching, cheating, and finally banning for dc abuse is up there on the list.

Wait, some people want to play against ultra competitive killers, is that how I should play? Some people find being hit not fun, so I can no long try to down a survivor? Please tell me whose idea of fun I should put into my killer style, since its now my responsibility to make sure every survivor has fun.
Those are very specific types of fun & unfun. Nobody, and i mean nobody in this world likes being camped from hook 1 and getting downed immediately after and hooked again. Everytime, no exeptions, and little gens done.
It's simple to not know what type of play an individual would think is fun or not. But that's no excuse. Because it's also simple to know what is simply unfun for everyone. Not only the survivor on the hook has no fun, the other 3 survivors do 5 gens and leave with no bp, maybe they don't even pip. How can winning be so unfun? Nobody thinks that's fun, so it's not about what people would prefer to play against, it's about basic knowledge about something that's obviously not fun for anyone. Probably killer included, i don't think camping is fun. Do you honestly think that walking around on 5% of the map, constantly looking at a hook is fun? No, that's why it's considered toxic. Because ruining someone elses fun is why you do it and then hide your pathetic sadness behind a : "yes, let me bathe in your salt yummy yummy. Ez kill" when people critisise you for it.
I'm talking about unneeded camping, which for me, and a lot of other people, is considered toxic.
I agree with you that camping is not fun, but I actually know some who find camping fun. They love drawing and baiting survivors into their trap. They do not play for ranking or pips or even BP. They find the mental chess fun. Some times the strategy works for them, some times it does not. If they find it fun, who are we to judge? We should not ruin their fun, now should we.
Not fun and toxic are not the same thing. Just because it is boring does not make it toxic. They broke no rules (well besides the bullshit made up rules both sides have created). They played the game the way they felt was right. Just because you do not like it does not make it toxic.
Oh yeah, by the way, stop acting like you speak for every player in this game. You do not. Not every person thinks like you do, find the same things you do "toxic". Personally I do not mind being camped 1st hook, because that means my team should get at least 3 gens done and be that much closer to escaping. I am a team player after all.

Like i said, you are not obligated to do things like that. They are not rules, they are basic kindness. Not even kindness, just not being obnoxious ( i'm not responsible for anyones fun ) if everyone would think like that then this game would have 0 players, you would face 4 DS every single match. See it as your responsibility to keep this game alive for yourself so you can keep playing, only way to do that, is to keep it fun for everyone. Toxic killers and survivors depend on the people who play this game normally and have some fun, if those people weren't there, this game would not be alive anymore and the toxic people would need to wait hours & hours for a lobby, just to be lobbydodged. And killers would face D/C's every match after camping every guy he catches. But hey, at least you're not responsible for anyones fun right?
First you were defining what is toxic, now you are defining what is fun for every one.

Never rage quitted. Never seen the point. I have had games as survivor that went completely sideways, but somehow ended up with full party escape. I have had games as killer that had 3 gens done in under 90 seconds, no survivor found, hexes all broken and for some reason (survivors were way too altruistic) ended up with a 4K, and no, I did not run NOED.
Point being, even when ######### goes south in this game, all it takes is one mistake from the opposing side to turn the match to your favor. We all have our bad, terrible, oh ######### this games. Play them out and move on.

Has been asked for, majority of the community has been completely against it because of the director's past, and the devs have stated they are not looking to that IP.

While I personally would not go that route, wont say its toxic. Hell, if the other survivors were dancing around the corpse while you camped it, they are encouraging the slugged camping instead of punishing it. In the time it takes to bleed out, they should have at the min 2 gens done.

I have a pc that can run it, I just have no desire to. DBD is something my wife and I do together, switching back and forth between matches. Killing survivors for an hour or two is our bonding time. Playing on PC would kill some of the fun for us.

My understanding it is not, nor should it be. It is a counter to flashlight save attempts, just like dribbling is a counter to DS.
