Legion monitor abuse exists
And the issue is that unlike healing yourself up, you are forced to mend at one point. So you can't decide not to mend, which causes killers to get ez detection.. Way to to ez detection.
I don't see this implementation is gonna be healthy for DbD.

Lol thats evey game for me but at least it is better than playing killer for me I played 5 games last nigh before I was like "Im done with this for tonight" every match had at least a 3man team and that's just not fun to have to face
Yeah, I noticed an increase of swf teams aswell. Either unlucky, a regional thing or seriously people are pissed about solo Q experience. It is stressful, but I play mostly Nurse so I can handle some hard situation quite good. But I defiantly dropped playing Trapper, wraith etc, it's not a fun experience against so many 3+ men swf groups.

Nerf ds and sc and MoM and exhaustion perks and nerf bnps into the ground and oh they switched to adrenaline bc we killed sc? Nerf that too and let's increase gen tines even though there's lots of "why is killer que so long!"
Have fun waiting 20 mins to play against 4 man swf with engineer toolboxes. You'll nerf survivors enough only SWF is fun enough to play.
Some things had to be nerfed in order to make the killer experience not totally frustating. However, I agree on point you made: only swf is really fun. Seriously, I hardly enjoy solo Q. I used to love playing survivor, it was a fun experience when playing solo. But now it's just to frustating and tilting me to much. I only go for head on stuns and "bully" the killer, idc about the match itself unless I play swf. Devs are literally killing the solo experience by nerfing survivors BUT not buffing solo survivors to an even level. They are just left behind, as if 99% are playing 4 men swf on discord which is not the case.
Imo if the devs are not finally starting to fix the solo experience we will have even more players who won't touch survivor anymore and enjoy playing killer more... Which makes the lobby times even worse for everyone.

Well, supposedly dedicated servers will improve the ping issue. That's one of the main reasons they're doing it.
Matchmaking is something that people have been complaining about for ages, and I'd be surprised if it's not something the devs are already working on fixing, because it's actually a pretty important issue that affects everyone. They're constantly tweaking the ranking system, so it seems like they're already taking steps in that direction.
As for the queue times... they suck, but they're not directly the fault of the devs, except perhaps that they've apparently made survivor and killer too equally balanced in terms of playability, which is pretty funny. Just from looking at the forums, it seems like the survivor/killer main split is roughly 50/50, but for optimal queue times it ought to be more like 80/20. Kind of throws all the "If you don't fix killer no one will play it and your game will dieeeee" complaints into a whole new light, doesn't it? But that's a whole other discussion.
Lets give survivors pallet vacuum back, that might fix lobby times lol, jk well let's see. I will just take a break and won't even bother touching it during the first weeks of Stranger Things release. I really hope the matchmaking experience will be improved when I come back trying it.

When I first introduced my friend to dbd he was referring it as a "space bar game", like if he wanted to play dbd he would ask me "Wanna go play some space bar?". Not a very good game promotion imo. I can't imagine who thought that mashing one button for a whole minute is a fun game mechanic. Why can't we hold it at least? Wake up, BHVR, literally nobody likes it, get rid of it already.
Lmao so funny but kinda sad. If you think about it, you press spacebar more than any other button

I mean, if you can't go through any window without getting hit, that probably is on you. the last nerf to vaults was unnecessary though, they should instead just work on map desig, which they finally are.
There's definitely improvements to survivors that should be made. The bloodpoint cap of the four categories is pretty bad, and causes survivors to gain less bloodpoints than killers most of the time. Camping is also something that should be nerfed. Sure, you can also reward killers for not camping a bit, as many suggest. But in my opinion it also needs to be nerfed, otherwise there will still be enough people who camp. But bringing something like that up in the forums sadly just starts a freaking war everytime.
But I am very much convinced that camping is one of the main factors that can drive people away from playing survivors. And they don't give a crap if there's counterplay or not. It's just not enjoyable if a killer camps, period.
No, the hitboxes are completely F'ed up. Some hits should never hit. And I can confirm with my experience it's not (only) due to latency to the host (killer) because me playing killer hit sometimes survivors and I'm like "######### how was that a hit? This should have never connected."
Devs need to fix the vaulting hit detection, something is messed up there but I don't know exactly what.
-
I would like to have an option to not join into 200+ ping lobby's because I will dodge them anyway.
-
It's always the doctors with the cheap cosmetics and blue eyes who tunnels and camps and ofc has noed. It's a pattern I noticed and I can't not see it anymore.
-
Yes, imo we have to many perks. The reason is that the devs are forcing themselves to create 3 new perks per character.. Every time.. If you look on any dlc, you will always see 1-2 perks per character and think "well this is so bad, they probably run out of ideas here and just did something to keep the rule up".
Imo they should stop with the 3 perks per character mentality. They should only add perks which are actually good and worth to use and not just gimmicky or a different version of already existing perks (for example well make it and auto didact..).
Also it's just more work for the devs at the end of the day cuz they will have to rework those underwhelming perks which costs time and money.
-
I personally think we need a music and soumd rework for pretty much every aspect of the game.
Just to name a few:
- Being injured (no mither is annoying af)
- Chase music (to load for both sides but also to boring. We need something new and fresh, maybe multiple different tracks and a tiny be quiter for killers)
- Being carried by the killer (yay they changed it not a long time ago. I like it)
- Hook phase 2 as you mentioned
- We actually need some sliders to change the volume of specific things up to a certain degree (obviously limited so noone can set chase music to 0, but a little bit of room for personal preferences would be really nice and should destroy the balance at all)
And some other stuff like the bloodweb leveling sound gets really annoying for someone like me who spend over 300 million bloodpoints in my whole dbd time.
-
Trapper, wraith, Billy and Nurse
-
It's currently not possible. It should be, but bhvr seems like not to care. I personally don't see why it's not a thing. Especially after bill got released on console aswell. Maybe one day it's gonna be a thing.
But then: what about people who got a certain amount of progress on one platform and another amount of progress on another? How you gonna put them together? BP compensation?
-
I like that idea, would make it much stronger and good against swf groups. Solos tho... Well They always get the short end. It's gonna be massive for solos, devour will trigger every match against solos and probably won't get destroyed before its already to late and over
-
@Sackboy123 said:
I honestly think they should remove the Bloodpoint cap, I mean it's there in the coding. We earn those bloodpoints still and everyone tends to get the perks they want within the first week anyway so I don't see the issue. Maybe a Dev could explain more why the Cap is there
Yeah. On some days/weeks I just want to play and not "waste" my time spending bloodpoints. But the cap is forcing me, otherwise it would be a waste of bp and time. Remove the cap. AT LEAST higher it up to 10 million. The time of 1 million is over, it's was actually outdated 2017 already.
-
One thing I personally noticed:
When I play killer and try actively to avoid the stun but kinda bait the survivors to drop the pallet I get stunned regardless. I'm visually far away from the stun, but I get stunned anyway. Either the hitboxes of pallets are broken or the first person visual perspective is broken.
It was annoying me for a long time (I think around spirit release when they changed killer hitboxes) but I never bothered to talk about till now.
@Peanits or @McLean can you look into it? Something is really weird with that and it can cost you the game when you play Huntress for example.

I find it unlikely aswell. But they might do the double bp event after the PTB but still before the release. Would be a waste you know.
But launching the live version and double bp at the same time will just increase killer Qs into oblivion

Why has no one said Ghostface? I main him at Rank 1 and get Ruthless / Merciless almost every game...
Cuz he's and unfished and buggy mess. His power is not reliable. Any power which is highly controlled by survivors is not reliable. Myers is the better, you can control his power better.

This. The top 3 can't be looped easily and can dominate easily in the hands of a skilled player.
Hag gets bullied against swf with OoO and flashlights. She becomes low tier actually, cuz it's a 110% killer without power.
Against solos she's top 5, against swf groups one of the worst.
-
Let's fix ghistficace first before talking about buffs and nerfs. The revealing mechanic is broken af. Sometimes I can reveals ghostface when he hides behind objects, other times I can't reveal him standing in front of me. Frustating for both sides.
-
It has to be like that. Otherwise moonwalk mindgaming wouldn't work that good anymore. It would be a nerf to the only thing an M1 killer can do at loop tiles.

Depends on what helps the team, if you're a lame runner for F's sake hide and avoid us the need to carry you all game, but if you're a good runner/looper, hell yeah mate, run the killer for at least 3 gens to get an easy W.
Btw a good runner is not automatically someone who can stand a chase for a long time. It's more like a combination of a long chase and beeing careful with resources (pallets). Someone is not a good runner who runs the killer for 2 minutes but wasted all the strong pallets and left multiple dead zones. But someone who lasted 1 and a half minute but barely used any pallets is the true good runner and a really good team mate and "respectful" towards his team.

And it's the survivors fault for not being unpredictable mate... if the survivor runs in a straight line, sits at a pallet, goes for an obvious window or makes a bad play in general -----> that's their fault/mistake.... you can see multiple people in this thread that praise her for what shes brought to the game.
Spirit has enough informations to analyse that beeing unpredictable won't help much. Especially while beeing injured without iron will.
Unlike Nurse. Beeing unpredictable against Nurse works and is really fun. Against spirit it's just rolling the dice, constantly guessing
-
@Grim said:
I've never understood what's so fun about rolling the dice constantly and hoping she either messes up or that you got lucky and guessed right.
There is no mindgame there for a good Spirit. I get why people play her, the power trip is nice after playing a killer like Wraith, but my days, I couldn't main her personally.
The rolling dice isnt even the biggest issue. The issue as survivor you role the dice, while the spirit has enough information to react and down you. Even when you guess correctly as survivor, usually the spirit has enough room to correct and react.
-
Boring to go against. I actually gate versing spirits. Doesn't matter if main or noob, if I outplay the spirit the whole time or not. It's a boring experience for me.

Really overrated imo
Agreeing here. Whispers has some niche situations, but they are rare. Yeah it's good to know that in that corner noone is. But if the gen isn't touched I wouldn't search anyway, cuz searching wastes to much time. And I saw so many people searching with whispers but couldn't find anyone. Endgame whispers is strong, there is no counter in 1v1. But that's about it. Overrated.

And in the beggining that will be enough. Since the survivors also don't have that.
What do you mean with survivors? You need to unlock the perks aswell
-
I see no bannable offense here. They were just trashtalking. No real harassment honestly, they are basically saying "gg ez baby killer with baby noed, git gud without crutch perks 4head"
I highly doubt anyone in the chat will get banned.
-
Just this list shows how ridiculous the grind is. A new player needs store spend over 50+ hours (probably 100+ hours since they are new and bad and can't earn a lot of BPs per match) before even having 1 reliable strong build..
-
Let's take the worst case: against 4 men swf groups, all of them 3k+ hours legacy with OoO, flashlights, insta heals etc.
1) Nurse
2) Spirit
3) Billy (map depended)
4) Huntress (map depended)
5) Myers (map depended)

I don't know if you're on PC but I'm fairly sure that steam stores it if you play in offline mode then steam ques up your achievements for the next time you register as online.
Note: Offline mode doesn't actually mean you're offline. Just that you've changed a setting to hide that you're playing from people on your friends list (I use it so I don't get messaged by people when I'm in a rough mood or something)
Okay I didn't know that, interesting. Well that changes a lot in terms of calling someone out for hacking. If that's true, u can't even call someone hacker who is using legacy but with prestige achievements unlocked after the deadline. Weird, I thought devs look into the achievements to ban people for hacking legacy or other stuff related to achievements.

These people are just as dishonest in other ways. Many have probably stretched the image on the screen and I notice that. Many of them are toxic. This is The experience of my statistics. Usually they like to write two different things in chat. And because I don't think it's trivial. The value of achievement is your experience. Playing for the plague and trying to get the achievement, I didn't spend a few hours. Or complete Michael's achievement to kill all 4 with your own hands in the third stage of evil. It was difficult because DS, because the survivors just jumped into the lockers. Such people have no right to have these achievements and write to me in the post-match chat-what I am, who my mother is and other insults..... At the same time, I played with them without a tunnel and without hook's guard.
I don't get how meaningless achievements are giving someone the right or not the right to harass someone else.
-
@looking said:
I believe that these people are not honest in the game. In any case, my experience shows it. I began to meet quite often with players whose 10-45 achievements the game received at the same time and on the same day. I honestly earned all my achievements. Played for every killer and spent time on it. It annoys me because the value of them is lost. Where you can send complaints about such people.
"the value of them is lost"
Listen buddy, achievements didn't even have a value to begin with. It's meaningless. They only exist to keep you playing even when you don't want anymore. Get over yourself and don't pump up meaningless things

Because there are other options already for good chase play. You get BPs and all exhaustion perks already help in a chase.
As a survivor, you're not meant to get into chases. The whole point is to escape, and killers will catch you during a chase (unless they're new or potatoes...). You shouldn't get a reward for getting caught out by a killer.
Diversion does need a buff though, but I wouldn't be the one to come up with it.
Sorry but this is bs now. I don't agree at all with what you say.
-
If one thing devs can do good it is dodging questions. Uncomfortable questions. I notice that on every q&a session, the most relevant, most upvoted but also most critical and difficult questions get dodged every time. It's frustating
-
@Raven014 said:
For the same reason that Stake Out doesn't charge when in a chase. It rewards not being sloppy around the killer. It rewards good stealth play.
It's very strong against new killers and ones that don't expect it.
And why shouldn't it reward good chase play?
-
They selfcare in corners against sloppy butcher Legion, the waste shack pallet in the first 30 seconds of the game, they search for 10 minutes the ruin instead of just doing the gens, they urban evade on the other side of the map while you are hooked and someone else chased. Oh and the classic: killer facecamps and they all crouch close to the hook for the whole 2 minutes.
Random team mates are the most frustating thing in dbd. Nothing is tilting me more than that. Part of that issue is the bad ranking system which allows some really potatoes ranking up to rank 1

You mean back when there was infinites and legacy had nothing to do with skill, just meant you grinded enough to prestige.
Someone who played since release (3 years now!!) has enough experience to run a killer. Unless it's a 60+ year old casual gamer. They had to adapt aswell.
-
I would get it from the shrine. The other 2 perks are most if the time destroyed before the full potential is to be seen. And also, not everyone likes the playstyle of hag. So not only are you wasting a lot of BP into a killer you might not enjoy playing, but you will also get dailys for that killer. I personally regret buying hag with shards, I get so many dailys for her it's insane. I wish I could lock her

A while back, but it was brought up in a recent Q&A. The Freddy rework one, if I'm not mistaken. The short version is that while the goal was to bring solo players closer to SWF, it just ended up giving SWF more info as well. The gap wasn't any shorter, it just shifted.
It's true, swf would have a benefit from that aswell. But by a scale from 1-10, swf would have a benefit of around 1 or 2, while solo a benefit of 7+.
Yes, the gap would have shifted a bit, but solos would have been buffed much more and therefore the gap would have been closed by a good chunk aswell.
I still think the devs should try out kindred basekit in a PTB and let the community have their experience with that instead of just deciding without testing it in large numbers.
-
@Mochan said:
SWF is seriously not a problem.
Killers just like to blame it as the boogeyman but teh truth is they just got outplayed.
A 4-man SWF of bad survivors will lose to a mediocre killer just as easily as a team of randos.
4 Solo survivors who know what they're doing will beat even good killers playing Nurse or Spirit.
You are not wrong. But there is one extreme u missed: 4 really good and experienced survivors using voice coms for callouts and not just casually chatting. I see that on streams and I did it myself. Unless it's prayer beads spirit or omegablink Nurse with mori, the outcome was pretty much always 3+ escapes.

It's not about how often something happens. It's about what is possible with a decent team. You don't balance around noobs. You balance around the best. Also, he was playing Nurse. And yes, he messed up a little bit at the beginning. But keep in mind, with any other killer than nurse, it would have taken much longer to down them in the first place, which would made it impossible to even get 4 hooks before all gens pop

You don't look behind yourself during a chase?
