UI:
All over the place, before, I needed to look in either the left or the right lower corner of the screen to get all the information I needed, it was very simple and convenient while having all the information you possibly need. Now I have to look in 6 different places to get the same amount of information, absolutely horrendous design. I understand you had to redesign the UI but at least group everything together and make it look exactly like the old one, no one was complaining about the old UI because it was perfect already, no need to make it more complicated for no reason whatsoever. Either revert it completely, redesign the current UI so all the HUD elements are placed exactly the same way as the old one or just let us customize the size and the position of all the HUD elements ourselves.
Animations:
The survivors look like meerkats when standing, when walking and running they just look like robots, they don't feel alive, the movement looks and feels so incredibly bad it doesn't feel like I'm playing dbd anymore. I don't really care about the idle/standing still/stationary crouched animations etc. but everything that involves crouching around/walking/running feels off, especially the quick turns you could do before, now the survivor barely moves to the side, it's just so different and unpleasant. I simply refuse to play survivor with this movement, it's 10 times worse than the old one which again, was perfect and there wasn't a single complaint about the old movement so I don't understand why you changed it. Obviously, the movement should be reverted, I understand that resources and time were spent but nobody needs this, please revert it. Also I'm pretty sure the new amazing movement caused the hits/hitboxes to be desynced, playing survivor and getting hit from 5+ meters away on 40 ping simply feels amazing. I've seen better hits on 600 ping with the old movement.

See you in a week
Nah, I have no problems with quitting the game completely, not anymore, at least. So not in a week, maybe in 2 years after the devs revert the changes that nobody asked for.

Yes. Try to combine carburattor (-18%) and one engraving (It should be +12%) end check the charge bar.
This is just sad.

@marcocordon said:
And also the charge time has increased from12% to 20%. When I combined carburattor (-18%) and engravings (should be +12%), the bar get red instead of yealow
Are you sure? If that's the case, then the Engravings nerf was even worse than I thought. It says the engravings have the "same effect" in the patch notes, what a load of bs.

Why does everything have to stay the same? Why cant all the entitled killer mains here accept a nerf?
I'm a survivor main.... I'm also pointing out the shadow-nerf to engravings and asking if the devs are lying about the changes or not.
I'm sure as soon as something survivor related gets nerfed you're the first to start crying all over these forums. I didn't ask for your opinion, I asked if the engravings stayed the same as in the PTB or not. Either answer the question or go, nobody here asked you what you think about the killers or the nerfs.

Not even going to take this seriously, your name ultimately says it all...
If you like the new update, then you aren't gonna be taken seriously either. Defending bad decisions and bad updates just makes you a fanboy.

What bugs exactly?
I keep seeing people mention he has bugs but no one has actually stated what the bugs are.
False saws have been in the game for 4 years, sound bugs are still there despite the devs stating they were fixed in the last patch, they didn't fix anything, finally, my favorite bug, the pallet bumping bug, you sometimes are unable to break the pallet with the chainsaw even if you charged at it while being perpendicular to the pallet, so you bump into it instead. None of the major bugs were fixed yet they still want to nerf Billy.

This. The screaming minority were declaring lag switchers and other such deviants as being responsible for all their woes, up to and including late rent payments. They never blamed their own lack of skill, so what we end up with is a system that is horrible in comparison to the p2p we had.
I only ever encountered 1 lag switcher through hundreds of hours of gameplay. I had more issues with Survivors macro'ing flashlights to their mousewheel and attempting to force me to disconnect. That happened a few dozen times or so. p2p was just fine and I truly wish they'd revert until they can fix and polish the dedicated servers. Then reimplement them, test, see how it works.
Exactly, never had any problems with P2P. Bad ping in the lobby or it's very unstable? I leave it and find a lobby with decent ping, that's it, all the lag problems are solved. I could even play with US players on 170 ping and it still was a decent gaming experience with little to no bs window/pallet hits. Imagine how bad the servers are if hits on 170 ping in P2P were better than the current 30-50 ping.

With time. It's not an easy process to iron out all the bugs. Best way to get everything fixed is do live tests and figure things out as they go along.
How many months has it been since the dedicated servers came out? Since PTB people were pointing out how bad they were, and what do we have now? Nothing has changed, all the problems stayed.

ill just copy past my comment from another thread that had a similar topic
if you are talking about red ranks, there is NO incentive for killers at red ranks other than stress. you play perfectly or you lose. for survivor? it gets super easy, one person needs to have 1 good chase with the killer and the game is pretty much over most of the time. red rank killers (like myself) will just get to rank 1 then de rank, im in the process of this atm. killer Q's at red ranks are INSTANT. but like I said there is no reason to be a red rank killer other than stress or youtube/twitch content. because at red ranks the IMBALANCE in the game is VERY clear
until 2 things happen, this will remain a problem
- give us a reason to be a red rank killer (reward or something)
- balance the game better
now we have come a long way since 2016, but there is still a lot of imbalance in the game. so until things change, red rank survivors will have longer Q's since not very many people want to deal with red rank games
Give me a reason to be a rank 1 survivor as well. It's not like I want to be there either. All I get are insane wait times, terrible teammates that prove that rank 1 means absolutely nothing or rank 8-6 teammates who magically got placed against a rank 1 killer. Have your instant queues, as I said, I will only be playing killer from now on, since I'm fine with the game's state right now, I lose nothing by doing this.

This is not caused by bad matchmaking. If the survivor : killer ratio was good and bad servers would cause 5 minutes waiting times for survivors, this would also mean 5 minutes waiting for killers.
So, then the only possible explanation is that the killer count drops by ~10k players exactly every time a new big update comes out.

Because all you baby survivors are begging for unnecessary killer nerfs which shoudk be buffs which is causing people to not want to play killer anymore.
Yup, baby survivors, survivor bad - killer good, survivor op - killer only gets nerfs and only needs buffs, great attitude. Don't have the "baby survivor" definition anywhere available so make sure to link me one. I don't really care, I'll just play killer and join you with the rest of the baby killers, instant queues, loads of bp and more fun :)

It could be several things. For one, survivor tomes outnumber killer tomes, the second page being particularly bad. This could cause more people to play survivor than usual, I know it did for me. Another thing it could be is the Chapter Release patch. That patch has been the buggiest patch the game has faced in a long time and I wouldn't be surprised if it messed up matchmaking somehow. The last thing I can think of is an increase in players due to the new chapter, though that shouldn't have messed up the matchmaking to this degree. I think its a combination of the tomes and the Chapter release patch.
One thing is certain: matchmaking for survivors is CHEEKS right now.
I really am not sure what's going on in the matchmaking department, somehow BHVR seems to make the queues worse and worse with each update, I have no clue how do they achieve this, there is definitely something wrong with the way the game works, I don't think the problem is with one side having more players, we've seen situations like that happen before yet every single time the queue times were fine before the newest patches.

@NoShinyPony said:
Instant killer lobbies + long survivor queue times = not enough killers
From instant queues on both sides to 4-6+ minute-long queues as a survivor as soon as the Dedicated Servers were added on the same day, really seems like there wasn't enough and isn't enough killers.

Yes. They were.
You spent time unlocking them? You've had hundreds of times the amount of time with the item than they took too unlock. At this point they actually costed you next to nothing, if we are converting time into money.
Also, its not like you really did anything other than play the game to unlock them.
Pax tickets alone costed $50. Free and $50 is the same thing so I guess we could say people got them for free, right?

must be your connection. for me the servers work good.
I always had decent connection in every game I've ever played. I had much better connection as survivor and killer before dedicated servers. Even had a pretty stable connection to US and could play with minor issues on 150-170 ping. I don't know if EU servers are so bad or what but I had much better gaming experience before the dedicated servers came out.
-
Yes, exactly, while having this low ping the game feels even worse than the old P2P lobbies with 250-300 ping.

You don't look behind yourself during a chase?
I look at the killer, not the stomach of the survivor..

Well you can get Claudettes hollowed blight event torso skin. Not thaaat amazing, but the best you can get atm
I already have this one, bought it right after I saw it, I don't get to see the front of the survivor unless I purposely turn my camera around so this isn't really what I want.

I can tell you now that a mod will close this because discussion of bans isn't allowed on the forums but like you said, you can't be banned for those things and it will give you a reason for the ban.
This is more of a discussion of unclear rules which are indeed unclear. The OP said it's not about the friend or the ban.

@ActualPotatoBtw teabagging itself is definitely not "scummy", and neither is flashlight spamming. Let alone bannable. If you continuosly do it to a new player, with the purpose of driving him mad and follow him through matches, then MAYBE this could be griefing (which IS bannable, as long as you can report it with proof, which is btw unlikely), but streamers are supposed to be experienced, so it shouldn't count either. This whole "toxicity" thing is overblown anyway... it's just there are too many super sensitive players who get butthurt way too easily, and surprisingly, streamers are the worst.
Bming can mean a lot of things, obviously wishing someone cancer, suggesting they should kill themselves, are usually bannable (I think), and for some odd reason, racial/homophobic slur too. None of these should be, but hell, these Canadians are softies. Other kinds of BMing (calling people names etc) are not, as far as I understand.
That is how I interpret BHVR's summary of bannable offenses. Stream sniping is clearly stated NOT to be bannable (thankfully). It's not a question of it being done simultaneously with "griefing". It's just not bannable. Griefing is, but that's something hard to prove, and most people don't bother to report, which is wise: you don't want them banned. You want to whoop their asses.
Anyway, mods/devs please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here somewhere.
Ah, ok, well I would really apprecate if of one of the mods or the devs confirmed what you said because this make sense. Though I'm still not sure if winning against a player more than once (let's say someone versed the same killer twice in 5 games they played) counts as harassment, griefing or targeting a specific player to ruin their game experience.

@ActualPotatoBtw devs give a pretty clear and straightforward definition of "griefing": it is when someone PURPOSEFULLY and REPEATEDLY targets a specific player, using tactics or a playstyle that, while legit and not bannable, is considered scummy (facecamping, tunneling, not hooking them but let them bleed out instead, lots of flashlight spamming, teabagging and more). Emphasize: REPEATEDLY. It actually takes a lot of effort, because you'd have to constantly leave lobbies and join new ones if you want to get into a given player's lobby. You'd have to work real hard on it if you wanted to get banned for griefing, and obviously, as a survivor, you could only do it against a streamer (so you can see you're in their lobby).
So the definition is quite specific, which is good: no one should be banned except if their "guilt" is proven beyond doubt, and the offense they committed is REALLY serious.
As far as I see it, devs perform well in this: while I'm quite unhappy how lenient they are about bans for DC (disconnects do much more harm than "griefing"), griefing is really not that big of an issue. It's simply too hard to follow someone on purpose and screw them every game. Plus, there's those of us who enjoy it: some of us LOVES getting into games with people who were rude, offensive etc. towards us in previous game(s). It creates drama :)
Some streamers fail to recognize such attempts as a challenge. Their choice I guess, but I think it's the wrong one.
Wait, since when is teabagging or flashlight clicking or literally anything except using game-breaking bugs or exploits considered scummy? Did the devs really say that teabagging and flashlight clicking etc. becomes bannable when combined with "sniping"? And does anyone in the game actually see bming as griefing? I see cocky survivors 50% of my killer games but I don't go and report people for griefing because bming shouldn't be classed as griefing.
So, from my understanding, it is only bannable if someone is "targeting" a specific user while also ""griefing"". And what about the people that "snipe" streamers without bming?
-
And what exactly counts as harassment and griefing and ruining the game experience? I've watched one streamer play against a survivor that was teabagging (that's it, that was the only thing they did) and they called it griefing and harassment and said they are going to report that person to the devs.
Stream sniping (or let's be honest, playing against a streamer) doesn't seem to be bannable by itself, but what's the difference between stream sniping and harassment, griefing and ruining someone's game experience? Can someone give any examples?
