From the recent debate with SpooknJukes and his step brother, who described 3 states of killer play. Playing nice, fair, or like a dick.

What do you as survivor do to play 'nice' with a killer that you recognize may be having a bad game/is new to the killer they are playing/is new in general, if anything?

And if you don't do anything, why should a killer worry about your fun/do you care if a killer plays 'nice' or not?

Genuine questions, not meant to start a flame war or anything.

I watch this video and the guy had some good point specially with his view on tunneling

remind me how much time they had to fix console issues? 2 months? After anniversary or re chapter? yeah probably forever

Last gen console are not important compare to PH butt

This is a genuine question, cause I see people say on a regular base they'll automatically tunnel someone with a key out of the game.

And i'm sitting here wondering -why-

cause, people, you are giving the survivors an advantage:

    1. If they are a swf, not only have you now given them a place to store the key, you also gave them the means to navigate the other players of the swf to the key and the hatch once it spawns. which now is a gen earlier.
    2. even if they are not a swf you have now given them the hatch a gen early as well as a definite place to pick up the key.

It'd be better, tactically, to play without any tunneling and corral the survivors away from the hatch.

Its only to make sure the guy have a bad experience at least in my case. I dont care if the other 3 escape i just want to kill that one guy no matter what.

  • @GoshJosh said:

Just experienced 'the thing'. How are you devs allowing this map to be in rotation with such an exploit in play?

Honestly the dev probably wont fix it if you see a survivor abusing the rock do like me and go in a corner and cry

Question for all purple/red rank killer players. How do you have fun? I hit these ranks yesterday and I wanna die. I played 10 rounds and lost 10 rounds. Not because chases where to long or I couldn't find anyone. In fact I was almost the whole time in chase after chase but still the gens are flying like nothing only because I have no gen slowdown perks.

I wanna go back to green ranks where I can actually have fun and don't have to use ruin/undying or pop/corrupt to just a have a chance. I don't mind losing, but I would be happy when the round was a bit longer then 4 minutes...

Its call red rank its a pain for that unless you are a f*ing god at this game you need to drop the creativity you had for your build or you juat dont care if the match last 4 minute

  • Ofc i assume the guy was using IE, BT, DH and DS

  • Best advice to a killer learn the map and know which part of each map you cant go because its close to impossible for a survivor to het down there.

For survivor dont be scare to abuse the map design all close to all the map are in your favor learn them and you will be unkillable or vlose to that

  • @LeFennecFox said:

The grind incentivizes you to keep playing the game since you've already invested so much time into it. There are youtubers with 1000s of hours in the game that haven't even maxed the killers yet. Think sunk cost fallacy.

Someone did the calcul and the time it would take for a player to have everything max out is close to 4k hour.

Oh trust me after looping for four gens they will stop at nothing to get to me, even if they see three survivors on the last gen. Btw I’m solo, so I doubt any potatoes with the purple toolboxes would do anything to help me. And lastly hiding in mid chase doesn’t work unless they’re as skillful as the survivors I’m paired up with.

Then you bring the killer to them i always do that after 2 gen are done im like i have enough now its your turn to get chase and i go get my point. Its your job to know when to stop looping so you have enough time to do other things. I can pnly tell you what work for me anyway

I don’t have enough info to know if I would care or not. Just saying “your face the nurse or the spirit all the time” doesn’t actually mean anything. I understand that it’s supposed to be matching you based on your skill level, but I don’t know what they’re basing your skill level on. Number of wins? Number of points in an average round?

They wont say that they dont want player to abuse the system because they know from the start the system will be crap. So wirt MMR after a match you wont even know if you did something good or not. I believe is because they dont even know themself what is a win

  • @lolololol said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2415441#Comment_2415441

how do you drop a chase if you’re being tunneled for looping???????

Solution1 by losing the LoS and hiding be sure you know how to control your s ratch mark.

Solution 2 if you are on comm ask a friend to run over your scratch mark to confuse the killer he should shich target if you can lose the LoS.

Solution 3 just bring him to a gen that get repaired and let the other survivor run the killer. No killer will leave a gen getting repair for free unless they do the 180 sec chase quest.

One of those solution should work at least they work for me

  • @lolololol said:

Being chased as a survivor should award you more bp. It’s seriously unfair especially when you loop the killer for 5 gens and black pip…

Not really because you did nothing else. I think they implement a cap so the survivor dont play like before and asign role to themself. Looping is good but as a survivor you should know when to drop the chase so you can go do other thing

  • @VioletCrimes said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2415357#Comment_2415357

I’m a mediocre player, so that wouldn’t affect me even if it was the case.

Good so you should not care if they put it or not XD

  • @VioletCrimes said:

Before I answer this, what would be the big difference from how we’re seeing it now? I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about MMR, but I don’t actually know what the functional change is.

Its simple if you are really good you will face spirit/nurse every match. So do you think you are good enough to face those killer every single match and sweat or not if yes you can say you want MMR if no you dont want it

  • I dont play spirit much but i know you could hear them before now maybe he did not hear them well because of the chase music that a possibility the number of time i lose track of the survivor because of that is insane so it could be that

  • @Mr_Madness said:

    I mean like a 2% or 5% Regress when kicking a gen.

That way its more worth it to kick a gen that has progress and prevents survivors from tapping it all the time.

Also it does not stack with active gen regression perks like Pop goes but works with oppression and trail of torment.

    What you think?

I think overcharge should be basekit and the perk be rework into something else. If overcharge is basekit you just counter gen tap and you give a reason to the killer to kick a gen if he dont have pop

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/271664/tunneling-and-camping

Won't happen. Part of game whether anyone likes it or not. 1-2 gens left/low hook count don't bother me as the killer is behind trying to make a play (they desperate) but using it right of the start as a main strat is trash. Solo really struggles against tunnel/camp.

You dont need to have a 1 or 2 gen left for the killer the be beind. With 3 or 4 gen remaining the killer can be beind if 3 or 4 gen are at 50% or more this is more scary for any killer then 1 or 2 remaining gen with 0% progress

  • @kaneyboy said:

More needs to be done against tunneling killers... 3 games in a row I'm camped on hook knocked down as they stand at me to wait out my DS to just hook me again. It's stopping me from actually playing the game. I mean if I'm playing solo it's hard to counteract this.

If he wait DS on your slug i really hope the other smash those gen because the killer just lose if they do that.

  • @Doctor_Grizz said:

I really like Depleted Ink Ribbon though, it makes the Zombies move faster and respawn quicker. And as a bonus, dead Zombies respawn at the Exit gates if Gens are done.

For the zombie to spawn in the exit gate you need to have at least 1 zombie destroy and it take 10 sec for a zombie to respawn and it take 20 sec for the survivor to open the gate so you need to kill a zombie in the last 10 sec of the opening animation whitout them 99ing the gate.

If you want faster respawn time take the green addon that let the zombie respawn faster and boost your infection this addon paired with the addon that make you undectable for 15 sec are a good combo and both are green

  • If you get BL3 i hope the survivor are not on gen because that is a game losing chase

Reasonable buffs are always fine (I'm a survivor main). Anyone who has a problem with fair adjustments hasn't thought enough about why they're needed, or they're just whiny and want it to be too easy for themselves. If it's the first, a discussion could help. If it's the second, I don't care that it bothers them. But that goes for killer players too.

True but let be honest the wraith buff are really good and fair he have more movement speed but his lunge is reduce and survivor still cry he is op. Imagine that for trapper it will be the same thing again

  • @AshInTheTallGrass said:

    The Trapper.

Man, we all have a lot of opinions about this guy, especially depending on when you started DBD. He certainly has a nostalgia factor about him. You can't rework him too much or else he won't be the Trapper anymore, but I think most of the community recognizes Killers have gotten stronger since him, and by comparison, he looks weaker. (To be fair, if you go against someone like Otzdarva as Trapper, you'll probably lose) but for a lot of us, he's usually a safe bet for escape.

While I usually don't think Killers should be strong because of add-ons, Trapper is one of those killers that, by design, needs them.

Add-on idea 1: After setting a trap, the trap will be blocked by the entity for a certain time. It cannot be disarmed while the entity protects it.

I've watched a Trapper set a trap at the shack and then immediately disarmed it once he left. I wouldn't be able to do that with this add-on.

Add-on idea 2: When a survivor goes to disarm the trap, their hand gets stuck and they have to struggle to get out. But once they free themselves, the trap is disarmed and they're afflicted with a modified version of the deep wound state.

This would make chases more interesting because if the Trapper comes back to chase the survivor, that survivor has to start chase while needing to mend. But how and why it would be a modified version of the deep wound state is because once they mend, they're back to whatever health state they were before they disarmed the trap. This would be because the Trapper didn't "catch" them in the trap.

If they make trapper viable survivor wont like it. They made wraith viable and survivor hate it we cant have too much killer viable

  • @SavageKukri said:

so we all know how situational p struggle is, so im proposing a small buff to make it more useful.

what if it increases wiggle speed, maybe 5/6/7% respective to the 3 tiers, so that:

A: it will always help you

B: it helps with p struggle's main ability bc you get to 25% wiggle faster

it will be like a mini breakout, and if thats too op then maybe breakout and p struggle dont stack

Also, right now flip flop is extremely useless so i purpose a small rework.

instead of it recovering 50% recovery to wiggle, it takes 100% recovery to wiggle up to a max of 40/45/50% wiggle. this makes it so even recovering a little bit will help and it wont confuse many new perk-users(s?) leave a comment if you like my ideas or hate them i wanna hear people's opinions.

For power struggle good idea for flip flop not so much because you could just run UB and if a flashlight user is close you could 99 and the second he pick you up you escape whitout the flashlight user commiting or just going down under a pallet with someone close buy

  • @dspaceman20 said:

I'm just curious about people's opinions on if the killer DC. Do you think it's fine or do you hate similar to survivors who DC?

I cant blame them if the survivor bring a map offering. I have seen some killer DC when tinkerer trigger 3 time at the same time i cant blame them they know they just lost so they prefer to get the 5 minute ban over the 10 minute survivor use for t bagging

  • @KittenBee said:

I've been trying to do my rift challenges cause well it's the rift. I normally play with my cousin and that's it. The other two survivors are random.

Lately I've been playing solo because I work weird hours so on my days off I grind for the rift. Well sometimes solo isn't fun because of other survivors.

However every so often you get a great team out of the 4 of you when you're all random. I stay between rank 7-9 depending on the success.

Today I've gotten lucky and all my teams have been great. I keep getting messages saying if i wasn't SWF I wouldn't have had that luck?

Why do people automatically assume you're SWF especially when you're all on different platforms?

Body blocking normally solo dont body block. With cross play it does not matter if you are all on different platform you could still be a swf.

Anyway when survivor body block i assume swf

I mean, they got what they wanted: making you upset, to the point you created a forum thread about it.

Upset i dont think so more like i could not believe why he would say that when he got a full meta build with strong map and a good item. I can see that kind of comment but normally the player who say that will have troll perk or some fun build

  • I play a lot of nemesis and this never happen in any of my game maybe that guy should go buy some ticket.

  • @Axx said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2411624#Comment_2411624

Yeah. That is why you shift the meta. This meta has been the same for far too long. All the killers that were weak years ago are still weak. All the strong perks from years ago are still strong.

The dev dont do enpigh patch for us to get a evolving meta. Imagine if we could have new buff and nerf for every rank reset so the meta is always evolving how much better this game could be

  • @Phasmamain said:

Well there is a lot of situations where the game clearly isn’t survivor sided. If it was a meta build nurse on blood lodge I’d hardly call that a fair match

As for complaints certain killers do need to be nerfed the biggest example being spirit

If spirit deserve to be nerf does that mean nurse need to be nerf because we all know nurse is stronger.

  • @GannTM said:

When you say the game is survivor sided, are you talking about a specific skill level or just overall? Because it all can vary. The game is survivor sided in the highest level and the game is killer sided in the lowest level.

You see the lowest level of killer play against the highest level of survivor because not enough people play killer. So does that mean when you reach rank 13 as a killer you just enter the highest level of play

  • @Leonardo1ita said:

It is and remains absolutely incomprehensible to me that there is still no real counter against tunneling. You can always hear sentences like "it's not against the rules", "tunneling is a legitimate strategy", "bring ds", "bring bt", "the rescuer should tank a hit" and so on. At the same time it is clear to everyone that if the killer wants to tunnel, all this advice will help absolutely nothing. When it comes to the endgame it's one thing, but when the killer tunnels a survivor out as fast as possible from the start, I think it's more than frustrating for the person involved on the one hand, and on the other hand it gives the killer too extreme an advantage. It's kind of like the old mori, which was changed for a reason... and it's still very strong when used in a pinch. Everybody knows that an early kill influences the further game decisively, because from then on it's a 3 vs 1.

What bothers me the most is the fact that a survivor can't really resist being quickly tunneled out of the game. Borowed time can be waited for a short time by the killer or he hits and stays on the survivor. Of course the survivor then has the short speed boost, but his vision is impaired during the further chase and a jump into the looker to use ds is no longer possible, because the timer expires. This brings us to ds: the previous nerf I personally find partly not bad, because ds can no longer be abused so easily. However, that ds is an anti-tunnel-perk, was said by the devs only a while ago, before it was also called by the devs as secondchanceperk and explicitly not as anti-tunnel-perk (this was always bt). Now that it has been adjusted accordingly, I would like to know why it hardly brings anything? Every killer comes effortlessly after the short stun... so why was the stun not extended? Why is it deactivated when you use an instaheal as a tunneled? Why does it deactivate after 60 seconds even though you are still tunneled? Why can it only be used once although you can be tunneled twice?

I assume that many people who read this will scream that ds is one of the strongest perks and doesn't need a buff, but I think my previous questions about this are justified...

And by the way, the killer can use all tactics that survivors find unfair or frustrating without any perks: camping, slugger and tunneling. So why are the supposed counters against it (bt, ds, ub) perks and not also basekit? This I ask only to clarify that survivors must use appropriate perks/perkplaces and these should then also please have a real effect.

So, to all who have come this far thank you very much and now I'm very curious about your opinions regarding tunnelling and the perks against it.

Why do you bodyblock the killer when you have BT that in my book is asking to get tunnel. Ds is still an amazimg perk you get a third health state that mean you can expend the chase during that time you have teamate who do gen.

Btw putting 3 second chance perk basekit is like asking for the killer to stop playing the game or swich to survivor. This is not healthy for a game who have a lot of difficulty to keep their killer more then 2 week after an expension.

Just imagine if killer could have all ruin/undying/tinkerer or pop/corrupt/bbq basekit the killer would be so strong because basically that what you are saying with UB/DS/BT basekit

And Hag Agitation, Sloppy Butcher, Blood Echo(No E allowed) and Make Your Choice. Brown setting speed & Range. They’re fun builds while still being strong for their powers. Not there yet with Ghostface and Nemesis. Haven’t gotten good enough with them yet and unsure if they need them regardless. But hopefully they don’t. But, anyone else have fun and good no gen defense builds?

I have 2 build when i dont bring gen defense

The first buikd blood warden, noed, bitter murmur, knock out recently i altern between that and no way out.

The second build blood warden, noed, bamboozle and fire up the killer i use his bubba after each game the chat is fun

Btw face camping is not bannable neither are tunneling, slugging, t bagging, the clicky clicky nea, or waiting at the exit until the time run out. All those thing are annoying but not bannable

No, I think being broken the entire trial is a pretty massive downside.

No killer's going to just let you pick yourself up, they can see you're running no mither.

That the magic of this game bug make sure the player are able to use a lot of perk in different time i dont know if you played a lot after the trickster release but hook could be broken for the duration of the match with breakout so survibor were using hook offering and no mither for an easy 4 man escape

I don't know if perks that have incredibly minimal benefits out-suck a perk that has an explicit, massive downside.

The downside of no mither is nothing compare to be able to pick yourself up. Some player know exactly where to go down because they know certain area are bug and the killer cant pick them up just like when we had the breakdown bug no mither was in a lot of game during that time. The sad thing is you need bug to exploit the perk

Why are you using banelings that’s not fun for the Terran.

If you have a good apm you can split your army well enough to win most of your fight that what i think it was fun in those game can i split my army well enough for you to waste your resource or you are good enough to split those baneling. Those were my favorite match ling/bling/muta vs marine/marauder/medivac ine missplay could cost you do game

  • Your issue is the norm you cant do much exept bringing perk to slow down the gen. Even if ut take 20 sec to down someone if 2 survivor are on a gen that half a gen done plus the time you take to hook him and get there the gen is done by the time you get there. Best advice i cam give you if you see someone close slug the guy go for a hit if you can hit him under 10 sec. Depending on the map cut the map in half, ignore certain loop area and if a survivor is hook inside a 3 gen or near a complete gen stay near them like that you put pressure on the gen amd the rescuer

1 2 3 4 5 6 … 15
