lmao, I really just found a whole thread of people saying snares are better than pallets. I must be in the twilight zones. Yall matches apparently don't run the same way mine do.
When my friends and I get a Snare Freddy, we collectively relax and feel like it's an easy game.
When we get a pallet Freddy, we're on edge all the time and more often than not, get wrecked.
Cause snears require a little mind game to use. Most Freddy I face don't even teleport to a gen. But pallets are like gamble at best and easy to counter. So yeah i call that weak.

Killer: *Uses His/Her Power*
Survivors: Nerf!
You're griping about Dream Pallets and Freddy's new sleep mechanic? Really? What's next? 'I can't see the Trappers beartraps in tall grass. Can you make them bright neon orange so I don't step in them?'
I am 90% sure that's been said somewhere in forums.
Basicly, some survivor mains want killers to look towards wall, not check on gen not hit anyone. If accidentally killers hook someone, they should immediately leave the hook area and never ever look back.
And some killer mains want survivors to start trial on hooks. So this goes on and on.
I did think Freddy was OP with his new powers when they first announced it, but right now I like playing both as Freddy and against him. I think he become a well balanced killer. This rework gives me hope for the future changes actually.
About the pallets, yes they are tricky, but also they have downsides to balance them. He doesn't replace an unused pallet to turn it into a fake one. He could only put it on to empty lots And when you are awake you don't even see them. So I think the reward is justified for the counters he faces.

To use what SWF supporters have been saying. Not every SWF group goes tryhard and doesn't tell each other every little detail. So having the game tell them that itself turns even the most casual SWF group into a powerhouse. Not just SWF, a pure solo group would now have that information with perfect detail making even the worst Survivor teams tip the balance of power.
You don't give booze to a drunk. You don't add fuel to a fire. You simply can't fix a problem by making it worse. Bringing solo up to SWF levels only makes things worse in the end. If you do, then you need to bring Killers even HIGHER than that! But Killers already are in a decent spot. You can't really buff Killers that much or the game becomes unplayable.
It's called power creep and that doesn't fix balance problems, it instead causes more of them.
If you think killers are in a good spot, why oppose to survivor balance. Because killers are not in a good spot facing against a well organised group (not necessarily SWF). Most of the killers don't have enough map pressure to prevent gen rush. I agree killers don't have to be on same tier, but on the other hand it is annoying to be able to play certain killers on specific rank range. Right now, when I play killer, if solo group comes to my lobby, its great. It could be challenging sometimes, but most of the time I get 4k. Because they don't know if I chase someone or, if some one else going for unhook, or if I am heading to their location, etc. that gives me the time I need for map pressure. But against an organised group, playing most of the m1 killers is a real psychological challenge. Maybe its just me.

So you’re saying killers will mostly get lobbies of solo survivors as SWF scrubs waste hours of their time trying to cheat the system? Wow even more reason.
Do you ever play as survivor or SWF. If the answer is yes, then it must be my experience only. Cause, when I play in a 4 man SWF group less perks literally don't effect me at all. I even try different builds for fun. But when I am solo I need almost 5 perks to barely survive.
Also, no it wouldn't take hours to get in a lobby with your friends separately. But it would kill the fun to constantly try it. So it is bad for game experience in general.
And I must underline, I don't support in game voice communication at all. And I said the real power is information which is not necessarily comes from voice communication. The op is about giving an information through out HUD. That is what I meant as an example of information.

New solutions for what? SWF using comms? How are you going to create a solution to something you can’t prevent? lol
You can’t prevent someone from using comms. So you nerf them in game. Idc if you disagree. It’s still a solution; and unlike preventing comms, one that is actually possible
I never said prevent comms. Plus the point us you can’t take away that power from them. I simply asked since you are so eager to nerf swf without nerfing solo, I wanted to know what are your solutions for that. Aside from perk reduction, which I think won’t work
-
@Well_Placed_HexTotem said:

Removing perks was one example but it would help immensely against many SWF groups. Sure they rely on comms for info, but that frees up perk slots for chase perks and second chance perks. Remove some of those and you’re off to a start
Still didn’t see any actual new solutions in your reply. And about your one suggestion, I don’t think it would keep the survivor experience the same. Also they could always try to join lobbies simultaneously which creates a lot of lobby dodging, therefore adds more time to q times.
-
@Well_Placed_HexTotem said:
Whats this talk about being unable to nerf SWF without nerfing solo?
Plenty of games buff or nerf you if you're in a group. Why can't DbD? Oh yeah because it takes them a year to fix one character LOL
But really, why can you not nerf just SWF? Add a restriction limiting perk amounts when in SWF. Apply a flat speed penalty, etc etc. There are ways.
I am curious how would you nerf swf without nerfing solo? Giving perk restrictions wouldn't help imo. Cause the real power is the key information they tell each other. Like killer is chasing me, I am working on this gen, etc. how would you prevent that?
-
@bummer_bloops said:
There's already tons of in game mechanics that already give us this information, mainly the entity claws around the obsession and survivors becoming infected by the plague. Any decently skilled survivor should already know the signs needed to see that the killer is busy, pretty much every killer that doesn't have an instant kill power will already give this information by damaging a survivor, which every player is able to see. Giving survivors more information on when someone is being chassed could seriously hurt the little strength that killers such as the wraith or most other 2 shot killers have
Exactly my point. The killer has that little of power over solo survivors mostly. That's why it is so frustrating playing as solo survivor, or against SWF groups as killer. Wouldn't it be nice to have solos to SWf level, then buffing killers accordingly?
-
@Raptorrotas said:
Just to make sure:
"Raising solo to swflevels by providing information" is a good thing for solos, I can agree to that. BUT it changes the core balance of the game.
There'd need to be a lot of perk changes, general killer buffs AND individual killer buffs (theoretical example: gen regrssion is doubled, trapper now has 12 traps and can carry 3 by default, wraith has X.... And so on)
As already mentioned, solos arguably need that boost, but killers cant wait 3-8 months for compensation while enduring playing against "only swf".
I kind of agree with you. SWF is the most powerful side in this game. And since they can't nerf SWF without adding more suffering to solos, they could give some more information to solo players. What I mean as some information is the information that SWF group on comms already have. Then, maybe they could finally give the killers more tools to deal with a well informed group of survivors, without being called "OP".
-
Its been two days, I still can't get matches without high latency. Does't matter if I am survivor or killer. Almost every lobby I end up is above 300. And when I finally get a green pinged lobby, its against much lower or higher ranked matches. it is hard to believe while over 17k players are playing on steam, none of them are from Europe or at green ranks.
-
I have fx 8150 and I did go for 1050ti. But I have regrets with each "optimization" patch it gets worse and worse. First I used at Medium settings and got 60 fps with no problem. Now I use low and experience occasional fps drops. I don't now though if it would have been better if I went for 960 or 970.

I'm just happy he can't keep filling the exposed meter by just ducking in and out of cover anymore.
How is that? Can't he still do that? If he moves constantly your reveal process starts all over.
My main complain about GF changes, now it takes really long to to activate night shroud.
We love and buy these killers because we love their special powers. And after release, developers make adjustments in the wrong direction imo. They should restrict basic killer powers and make more about their special powers. I don't want to wait too long to activate my power just to lose it in seconds. I used to love playing as Legion, now I can't stand them. Frenzy which supposed to be their specialty, is useless as it comes. And the Ghost Face long recovery activation time makes him dull to play as.
-
I don't know why they crying about supposedly 'nerfs'. You still cannot reveal him if he moves behind an object or just moves really. And he can still stack stalk rates off you while you looking at him. This is the main problem with him. He designed as stealth killer and currently even if he is not stealthy at all he can manage exposed pretty easily.
But getting rid of that sound is a good start to make him the sneaky killer he is intended to be.
-
@NuclearBurrito said:
The nerf everyone is complaining about is the one where he can't refresh someone's exposed meter once they are already marked.
Also his power takes 30 seconds to regenerate. Not even close to "almost instant".
TBH if it were up to me I would have it be:
- The initial spot radius on the screen is like it is on live. However once you start spotting him the radius grows slowly. The closer he is to you the faster it grows so it's easier to do in a chase.
- All of the other changes happen as is
- His cooldown is reduced by 10 seconds.
That way it's not hard to knock him out if you see him, but it isn't any easier to start spotting him in the first place. The other changes make sense. HOWEVER if you are going to nerf a Killer that isn't OP you need to counter balance it. Right now his cooldown feels very sluggish, so buffing it back to what it was at first seems fair if we are making it easier to take him out of it in a chase.
I agree, the cool down is not that instant. I posted before I played on live version. I only played as him on first PTB, and that cool down meter was fine. Now it is ridiculously long, kind of defeats the purpose of the killer imo.
I would like to tried your version of changes though. They seem like they fit the design.

It's just if you run filthy + another mend increase.
I usually run filthy blade with Susie's mix tape or another frenzy related add-on. So no bug at my end?
I just stop using mending increasing add-ons anyways. I got enough people d/c on me the second they see Legion, certainly don't need more.
-
@WaffleFalafel said:
There is. Don't use any of the add ons that make mending longer. After about the third time of being hit with Feral Frenzy, it takes minutes to mend. Its an exploit people are using right now.
Thank you. I wasn't aware of any bugs regarding to Legion. I faced a few Legions as survivor, but haven't noticed that either. It is good to know. Like I've said I use it a lot to give me more time to search mending survivors for the achievement.
-
Is it temporary or permanent? That's what I would like to know. Because my ears hurt, physically. Other quiet sounds are completely gone and the ones already louder are unbearable now. I see the scratch marks appearing in front of me and even see the survivors running but no sound what so ever. And the chase music is all I hear as survivor. It is pretty annoying tbh and I wish community managers would say if this is permanent or something the team is working on.
-
As both survivor and killer I loathe the most Yamaoka maps. It is hard to see as killer and somehow I can't hide as survivor either. Also I find it so hard to control longitudinal oriented maps.
-
Yes ping is good at latest matchmaking, but waiting times and variety are really bad. I always face with same players, both as survivor and killer and waiting takes forever. At first it says under 1 min and then goes to unknown. Are they reversing the system again?
-
Yesterday, I've been called as cheater, because I found someone in locker while I was in frenzy.
So yes, it is possible you come across with speed hackers, or bad connection, or some combinations of perks you haven't seen yet. The best you could do report them with video proof and try to learn the game more. The more you learn the sooner you realize if that is a hack or not.
-
On PC I got the achievement after the first hot fix.
-
Yeah it happens to me time to time as well. Sometimes I manage to stun, but sometimes I got my 4ss knock down. Maybe it is related to latency, or timing like @BACKSTABBER said.
-
One time I ended up in my roommate's lobby. I think that is the lowest I could ever get. It was 17.
-
@Spirit_Hag said:
Wow, killers finally get a DS nerf and still find room to complain. smh....Yall never satisfied until all 4 survivors just walk right up to you and sacrifice themselves to the entity
I wasn't complaining about DS, I was telling the new creative way of survivors trying to activate it. It is not the perk, it is how people choose to use it. I believe there is a difference.
-
@Hunter901 said:
i just d/c on slugging losers. 99% of the time the last survivor gets the hatch
Using DS is birth right, but slugging to counter it is being looser. Hard to argue with that logic.

I was upset last night when I didn't get it either, glad to know they are bugged.
I am not sure if it is a bug or merciless killer emblem is requirement too. Because I got mine after I manage to be merciless killer and get 4k and no one disconnected miraculously at the same match.

No, only got Ruthless, but I just got my Adept Legion the other day with three D/Cs and barely a safety pip. If they made it HARDER to get these achievements, that's stupid. Because it's already A LOT harder to get 4 kills than it is to escape.
Yeah I know. Also disconnects does not count as kills like before. So it is pretty hard to get them right now.
-
I though it was because of the bug, because I did pretty much all my killer adepts as ruthless killer but with 4k. But now it doesn't accept ruthless killer emblem you had to be merciless and get 4k at the same time. Did you meet that in your game?

If they are trying to go down intentionally to activate the perk, it is pretty stupid.
Slugging is the best way to deal with gen rush no matter what other people say. If a survivor gives me an opportunity to slug, I am gonna slug.
Just leave them on the ground and move on to your next target. The game becomes a lot easier for killers when they use slugging. This is why survivors hate it.
I just avoided 3 DS, even one of them rage quit on me because she could not use DS. I was never a big fan of slugging, but I think I will be from now on. Thanks for the advice :)

Yeah, on PS4 the sound changes are insane. When I'm in the terror radius it's like somebody turned my TV volume up 200%, it's horrible.
Ikr. And the other sounds got quieter, so either I won't hear anything or have a permanent ear drum damage.
-
@Kind_Lemon said:
I think I like the terror radius changes. It had me really scared the first game I played, and it made it easier to know when I was 32 meters away from the killer (many times, I don't hear the heartbeat until ~28 meters because it was so quiet starting out).
Yes, and that's exactly why you could determine if killer is further or closer. Right now it is a big mess of sounds.
What I'd like to know though is this intentional or general audio bug that related with engine update.
-
I'm not sure, maybe it's just me, but does anyone else have the feeling that the chase music got extremely loud with the latest patch?
Not just chase music terror radius became chase music on its own.

I had no issues with lobbies at rank 1 before patch both on survivor or killer. Now i wait 3-4 mins to make a lobby, and another 3-4 minutes for the survivors to get thier rear in gear. Or i get unlucky and get a bugged lobby that only has 3 people for 20 minutes. THEN i gotta wait another 4 mins to even open up a new lobby...very unpleasant experience with this new system so far.
Probably because pretty much no one left at rank 1 with the new emblem system.

When she starts phasing within terror radius she now omits a sound so survivors know she's phasing.
She was like this when DLC first released, then because it made her so predictable they omit the sound in terror radius. I'd like to believe that is a bug, and they did not nerf her without telling the community what is gonna happen. Sounds seem like problematic anyways, that must be unintentional.
-
It was bearable until this patch. Of course I miss old before the first engine update days, but difference between them wasn't like this either. Now I can't hear anything not even skill checks and if I turn on volume to hear and accidentally come across with killer, OMG literally had to rip out headphones off me the first time. Still haven't found a good volume to balance them out.
But Haddonfield sound got to normal I guess that's a win.
-
Same here. I didn't get it either.
-
I always bought DLC's , but now I want to play immediately. So my question do I unlock the characters first or buying the desired outfits automatically unlocks them?
-
I get low ranked teammates as well. I hope it is just a phase of a new system. Because matches like these definitely not balanced.
I think I `d rather wait a bit longer and have more balanced matches in return.
-
I have hard time watching others play as Plague or against her. But interestingly when I play with/against Plague I don`t even realize they are vomit. Except as survivor while I got the sickness that occasional vomiting actions really gross me out when I am not in chase.
-
@Stompa said:
i am actually fine with the new mm, dodging swf had never been easier if you know the telltale signs. and i can imagine the amount of salt in them when i leave the 30 ms lobby.
this could all have been avoidable with a swf checkmark for killers, i am sure plenty dont mind and want to host swf. but hiding and forcing wont work out in the long run.
You do know everyone joins at the same time in the lobby now, right? I hope that wasn`t one of your tales. Other than matching outfits or names, what are their tales btw? Asking for a friend :)
I am not explicitly saying this to you, but so many killers have started to dodge, just because survivors join at the same time, it is getting annoying.
-
I used to had minimum requirements on my pc. And I encountered problems similar to yours. I upgraded my graphic card to the best other components can handle, plus I can afford and it reached a bit above the recommended requirements. I did not experienced any issues until 2.6.0 PTB. I had steady 60 fps, nice visuals. But each new engine update kind of costs me a bit of quality. At 2.4 update I had to lower the quality from high to medium. Now I had to lower it again to low in order to get 60 fps. So no you cannot be banned because of it but I assume it affects your experience of the game.
-
Either I get fast lobbies at my rank range but high pings, or after a long waiting time finally find a good ping but with all lower ranked teammates. I don`t know if it is because not many people after the rank reset manage to higher up, or the new matchmaking system having some problems.

Yes, you can do exactly that with Head on only difference is they don`t give it free. It is attached to the lockers.

Tackle: american football tackle to the killer while carrying a survivor will cause a stun of 2/3/4 seconds and dropping the surv. Conditions:

They kind of made that happen with the new Head on perk.
