I’m sorry I didn’t look up previous changes about the subject. And I wasn’t playing the game when MLGA were whitelisted. I can understand it is an open idea for abuse. But I need some kind of warning against these exploiters.
Lobby dodging is an issue I agree but there are many reasons contributing to it. We can’t just say you dodge cause you know who it is.
Another point of view, wouldn’t it be fair to have a choice who you gonna play with. It is for entertainment in the end. And this current state killers have this privilege and survivors don’t.

What if we don't give any privilege to any side?

It seems to me as common sense honestly.

I am completely okay with that too. If one side can not see, the other shouldn’t either.

People really have a short memory.
MLGA was removed from the whitelist because survivors put players that played specific killers like Freddy on their blacklist.
MLGA shared the list. Which was supposed to track high ping, unsportsmanlike players, etc.
Then survivors dodged killers, because they were on that list. This resulted in terribly long queues for both sides as no one could play.
The devs had to intervene and remove MLGA from the whitelist.

  • I'd like to see that. The grind is so hard, it would be nice to get some help.

So yeah some killers wouldn't like getting dodged though that is exactly what they do now when they see a known good survivor.

    Exactly my point.

The way I see it if they want to reduce dodging they should also hide survivor names. Or if they want to keep your choice they should also give one to survivors.
  • That would just result in even more dodged lobbies. Don't like the killers main? Dodge. Don't like losing to a certain player? Dodge.
The only reason killers can see names is that there in a role of power. Even then you shouldn't really see names till the games start tbh
I think I can be okay with that too. If survivors can’t see the name or click into the profile neither should killers. Because I can say the same thing about killers like “if you know that survivor main who is mastered the loops you dodge. Don’t like that survivor dodge. You find them toxic dodge.” Aren’t these two situations similar?
  • Frequently when I am about to leave a gen that’s when I get a skill check.
  • @The_Crusader oddly enough add Huntress to that list since I've been bumping into a LOT of NOED Huntresses.
Don’t forget Legion. I’ve been seeing a lot of them lately with NOED.

when I say dying light effect I didn’t mean as repair speed, but more like how dying light encourages tunneling. If you are the obsession on that match and happened to cross roads with killer, he will do anything to get you out first to make use of his perk naturally. And I don’t think a perk should not lead a specific play style.

  • Today against a thanatophobia running killer I was thinking the same thing. Two of the injured were sacrificed and after sudden relief finally got the remaining gens. I thought it’s so good that doesn’t effect the dead ones.
But I feel like changes like that can bring unintentional abuse to game. It is different trying to keep them in injured state and kill them as fast as possible and have the permanent state.
It could have dying light effect on gameplay which I don’t think needs anymore incentives.
  • I just spend my entire bleed out time on hook watching other 3 teammates getting deep frenzied and doing full self care against sloppy butcher separately from each other.
It was an endless cycle. Well at least till I got sacrificed.

  • I've regretted running aftercare as well. Went for a rescue and the person just lead the killer to me the whole match, yeah I'm done with that perk

They have bond and empathy to help them with that.

Especially this event brought the worst in survivors. They just run straight to you while you’re healing or doing gens. I feel like with this event solo survivors got a side objective. Dodging teammates.

I don't play the killer but of that's what happens then I agree with that too. Wouldn't all 4 survivors have to disconnect though?
Even one disconnect ruins your gameplay anyway. You put rare add ons, offerings and face 3v1 or back to back disconnects in game. Basically wasted items.

BBQ nerf. What did people expect?
And before BBQ nerf the amount of camping wasn’t an issue. Right?
    Let's see.
BBQs aura reading exits only to lead killers away from the hook.

Before the introduction of BBQ, complaints about camping were filling the first 2 pages of the steam forum.
After the introduction those complaints disappeared.

With the gradual nerf of BBQ those complaints are coming back. What could possibly be the cause?!
That’s what I was asking actually. Did they really disappeared after BBQ introduced. Because I could swear I read and write about how camping ruins the experience as survivor before this locker adjustment. Maybe my memory serves me wrong.

  • I used to be like you. However after few hours of killer play I usually don’t feel the same. I just go burn them all mode in fact.
  • When I got mine I thanked everyone who was still in the chat. Because most of my failed attempts was due to disconnects or intentional locker hides. They just run to the locker knowing you can’t mori them. And just to stick it to you I imagine.
  • Whenever I think an addon or a killer is too powerful. I play as them. Play as Shape and that addons see how that goes. Maybe you change your mind or see something different.
  • I  see survivors in advantage position here. They can grab lanterns any time they see them but killer have to hook someone and then find that lantern by the time hope another survivor haven’t picked it up yet.

Also Imo as long as killers could not destroy a gen and making it impossible to fix, that’s not the same with sabotaging special event hooks.
  • It's essentially them doing anything that isn't actually related to their objective and is being done for the sole purpose of trying to make the killer mad and taunt them.

    Totally agreed.

I have some tolerance towards them, but when they chase me with their flickering flashlights instead of doing their objectives. Thats when I stare to their face when I get them. And it’s bubba most of the time so imagine my joy waiting on the hook with full strength of the chainsaw.
  • Yeah I didn’t like the noise of the fireworks. It is quite buzzing. I had to put down my headphones while I am in the lobby. They are visually nice though.

Actually I find it kind of odd, they expect killers to perform a perfect match of hooking everyone 3 times... AND... They expect all the survivors to put out red envelopes, cause if all survivors don't, the killer has no way to get the 45 points. Only 2 survivors need to put out envelopes to for all survivors to get 45 points.

    I do find that odd.

And you expect killer not to break any of the lanterns if nobody put out offerings. Also expect survivors to perform a 5 gen not get hook and escape with a lantern, too.
I think in this event they gave some obstacles for both sides.
  • I get them a lot lately. Intentionally bringing killer with them, constantly failing skill checks or making noises around and of course my favorite hook farming.
You can submit a ticket to support center with detailed informations and video link. You can try to upload your video their page. But I never succeeded so I always upload to youtube and give them the link

Yeah, it is a lot easier for survivors imo.

Killers have to go out of their way to destroy the lanterns everytime they hook somebody, getting a lantern and holding onto it is not hard at all.

Getting points for hookings and gens seems easy for both sides though (I play clown and huntress so I don't know how hard it is for leatherfaces for example, so don't take me so seriously for this one)

I changed my previous statement and agree with you here. It is quite hard to find those lanters as killer.
Yet especially in high ranks it is also very difficult to even do a couple of gens let alone escape with lantern.

Maybe the offerings gave 2 extra lantern not just 1. That would make it a bit easier for both sides but mostly killers. Cause in a good match for killers they can hook up to 12 times, but only can destroy 7 and that If they could find all.

And if these long survivor waiting times show us anything that killers need something more.

Survivors got it pretty easy this event, Just Gen rush for 20 points an then if you can, try grab a vessel and leave for another 25.

And all killers have to do hook everyone like always gain 12x2 24 points and smash some of the lanterns on the way gain 7x3 21 points more. 45 points again. what is the difference can you point out for me.

The difference is a killer gets 2 points a hook, You'd have to get 10 hooks to match the amount to get gens done and Getting 10 hooks is much harder to do than completing the Gens.

Also smashing the lanterns is a bit more difficult than just smashing, a survivor has to be hooked, only their vessel is sent back to the lantern if they are holding it. If other survivors are holding the other vessels which most likely they would be, you might only be able to destroy one vessel that could be anywhere on the map so you then have to go find it all in the time the survivor is on the hook which wont be long if your walking away looking for a vessel to destroy.

And as survivor you or your team has to complete all gens even if you get hooked you have to find where was the lantern and hope it wasn’t taken or destroyed. And escape the trial alive.
I see both tasks equally hard.

I believe it when I see it.

No you dont need to escape to get the gen points. u just dont get the vessel points if u get killed. devs said this on stream

I don’t know. Maybe it will sort out. But for now I got 0 progress even I’ve done multiple gens but always got sacrificed in the end.

Are you sure, I haven't played the game yet, if it is, then it sucks.

Maybe it is a glitch for now I don’t know. But I burn the offering and done 2 gens but sacrificed. Got 0 points at the end. Another match done 5 gens didn’t escape still have 0 progress. If it is this way I think we’re gonna have long long killer ques.

"Survivors have it easier in this event"

    As always, I hear this.

Yeah because what's easy about competing against 3 other people to get a vessel, ontop of Ruin/NOED Killers.

I just switched to Killer because I rack up points way quicker currently than I do as a Survivor. I think Deranking doesn't sound like a bad idea right now either lol

No actually survivors had it hard. Cause you have to escape trial to even earn generator points. Killers don’t have merciless killer bar to live up to it
  • I’ve been both ends on face camping. And my thoughts have changed since because killer usually have a reason of course there are exceptions always. What I find as boring game is tunneling. Against tunneling there isn’t much you could do about. You get downed and sacrificed within seconds depending on your teammates.

No, not evet killer has that info before the time has come.
I can understand that it can be powerful... mainly for solo but swf gives a bunch info to everyone why cant solo have this?
This perk provides quite specific and valuable information to everyone for a small toll. And no actually swf doesn’t have that complete info either. Yes swf has quite advantage over solo but not this one. Maybe what you suggested was seeing a totem or hook another one saw that could be close to swf information. But this one gives you free knowledge that others don’t know yet.
  • No, not evet killer has that info before the time has come.

Very one sided argument.  So if a person is camped and tunneled off hook, killer ensuring they get no blood points or get to enjoy the game they should give him the courtesy of a third hook.  Good luck with that mentality
And your argument is not one sided at all.
Also as killer when they dc it doesn’t hurt me at all. In fact you save me the trouble to down and hook you 2 more times. The only damage here is to your teammates. They get a disadvantage start because you “don’t have fun”.
  • For example, I used to be able to hear hatch while in a chase way further. Now I have to be standing right next to it to hear. And it’s the same headphones.
  • Yeah I would like to see a personal dbd profile. Where you can chat, invite to games, add as friends without connecting to steam account. That would make creating swf lobbies much faster.
Also maybe allow friends to gift each other outfits? Wishful thinking I guess.
  • Agree with @Paddy4583
Also with the new Breakdown perk hooks are pretty hard to find. The only advantage we have while carrying a survivor is being able see our next hook. Let’s keep it that way.
  • For me it’s not enough to just get a buff to gen repair. After all you are alone, you have to do healing or needed to be open the gate by yourself and killer only has you to focus on. Maybe other actions get a speed bonus it might worth to run it.

Survivors will complain about any killer you take... It seems like allot of baby survivors have decided to DC for whatever reason comes to their head. It is actually becoming a sad joke tbh.

My suggestion is don't give a ######### about what survivors want in your match. Play the killers you like and hose as many of those survivors you can. Take note of the DC'ers and beat them down every time you see them in a match and make them DC.

I like playing as Legion, but I am sick of people dcing at your first attack. Then either go after 3 or go easy on them which occasionally turns out eeezzz comments at the end.

    LMAO. I'm laughing so hard.

I would like to see an offering that makes 3 random survivors start the match on hooks. That would be interesting.
  • @antgnstea

Except tunnelling is not "messing up"

Killers react to survivors they do not control the game.

If a killer gets you down on a tunnel or anything else unless it's The Nurse it's because you or your team let them.

The difference is for a GUARANTEED BT your entire team would have to run it that's 3-4 people all with a perk slot taken just on the off-chance they make an un-safe unhook.

    Yours requires just one, you.

Again it doesn’t a guarantee because there is killer factor in the game. I think you assume everyone will start unsafe unhookings.
And this requires just me, just like a classic BT requires pretty much 1 person having it on the team. If they see a proxy camping killer they let that BT running survivor do the unhooking. There go we are at the beginning again. It makes a huge difference for a solo survivor in a clueless group. But it would NOT change the way of organized group of survivors get their way anyway.

I didnot say tunneling messing up. When you tunnel you hope to down the survivor immediately and BT generally doesn’t allow that. That’s your turn to admit that was wrong read, I messed up. Inner voice content more likely.
  • I want to play as a killer with one of my friends and a full lobby with random friends. Is that possible? I see the "killer with friends" option but it'll only be the two of us. Friday the 13th has that option but this game doesn't offer this for some odd reason. Any help?

It’s not for some odd reason. It’s for a good reason. So you would not farm other people and share information whereabouts other survivors etc.
  • @GraviteaUK

Yes I am having hard time to understand what is so different for killer a teammate with BT saving and you having BT. That is BT in the end you just hit someone just unhooked and messed up. It is same for killer. Unless they hoped an easier tunnel and end up chasing that free second hook. Is that what you are referring?

I could give the same advice to killers who tend to tunnel. Don’t mess up. Be better. Or forums favorite. Git gud. Don’t depend on tunnels. See how this can go, sides giving useless advices.

I also play killer and my killer rank goes up way faster than my survivor rank does. And I am saying this mostly killer sided. It wouldn’t effected me than before who ever had the BT.
  • @GraviteaUK
We can say what we believe all day long. This goes on. Your clear hate towards survivors and anything that isn’t a definite nerf to them is bad attitude is quite hard to penetrate.

What you see as a free escape for hooked survivor, I see taking action against something you have no control over, which is basically hook farming.

I will say hundred times more it is not a free escape card or unnecessary buff or other stuff you said. Sorry, I can’t remember all you deleted couple of them.

So, I agree survivors have some advantages, being a group is one of them. If you market your game “to survive work together or not” I expect to be able to survive without desperate need of my teammates. Since they don’t close for single players I assume they haven’t given up on that idea.
I definitely don’t believe it is a crutch. And highly doubtful it would effect killer perspective that much.
  • @GraviteaUK
you know I would like to see that only one camped survivor dies others easily escape matches sometimes. It wouldn’t bother me at all if every other survivor did the gens and got out. Unfortunately that happens 1% of the time and nobody get points or pip in that match.

You say like being a SURVIVOR problem is like something to be accepted or can be ignored. It is a survivor problem and since this is a multiplayer game and you have no control over actions of your teammates, not my suggested perk changes maybe but something is needed to help you as solo player.

And I could be presumptuous and say things like Killer needs to play smarter and not trigger BT to begin with. But I don’t.
Because I believe this game needs empathy from every side to evolve and balanced. There aren’t just killers vs survivors. Survivors needs to take care, sometimes get away from other survivors in the game. And perk derivation helps with your play style.

  • @GraviteaUK
I see your point. You worry about the exploitation, when you hook someone if they know for certain they will get unhook regardless your proximity. Which is understandable, but still all BT carrying sfw already know and do this. They make a swift entrance and take your sacrifice away; playing immersive AF as you describe it.

Also in my way they have to carry this perk if they want that fighting chance, not one BT for whole team. So they should make the sacrifice of one of the perk slots.

And I here mostly talk about killer exploitation. Most of the killers don’t even bother to patrol gens anymore. They just wait on you knowing someone will get you eventually. Because that’s basically the game, you need to be altruistic to rank up or earn points. It is messed up, but another discussion maybe.
