So you described pretty much 4 swf at high ranked matches.
Could you also point me out what is the difference in this scene? Why is it different than saved by a BT teammate in here? I’ve also seen 3 or more people running same builts. So it basically same old against SWF, but may help solo survivors.
  • @GraviteaUK
Clearly I am the only one who doesn’t see it that way.
Yes camping sucks but in the game mechanics. I just want to take some action over on my hook farming. The way I see it is a chance to fight few more seconds, and not to hope your teammates who rush to unhook you have something to help that.
Having a perk like that in the game doesn’t mean everyone will run it all the time. Like any other perk it might be life saver, but probably sit there inactivated the whole game.
  • @NoShinyPony
why do you see that as a punishment for killers? It is still borrowed time the only difference not the rescuers but you had to run it to activate it.
  • @ShyN3ko
Yes, what it is so hard to believe? How many reasons are out there to use a perk?

Nothing. The game needs to be harder for Survivors.

I disagree. I think game needs to be harder for killers since game needs only 20% of the player base as killers. Otherwise long long long waiting times in lobbies ahead of us.
  • It’s not much different in pc either. Plus I always end up in very high pinged lobbies. And the matching time is not that low. I think I liked the old one better.
  • What if fire up would be backwards. Like you start with 5 tokens. Every time a gen is done you loose a token. That could give Freddy the momentum he needs at the beginning of the game.
  • Only ds if I had infinite black screen.
Other than that I take every clickery flashlights every tbaggings every pallet every ezz and as survivor I just have romantic moments with killer on hook accompanied by repeated hits. Also potato teammates who make unsafe unhooks and dumping killer on my lap when they were the one being chased.
I just sit there and wipe the manly tears out. Wait for next lobby. Or even better come here to winge about them.
  • Billy hitting through pallets or windows is a hitbox problem not base speed.
Yes spirit is very hard to loop since you can’t tell if she is phasing behind you or baiting.
Pig now has a bit more advantages with crouching and I think increased TR is for making crouching appealing so people actually use it more often.
I saw many wraiths who use their current cloaked version quite well. So complete invisibility could create more unskilled but successful wraiths around like Legions with purple addons.
  • For me it’s mostly with sketchy survivors. Not often but time to time I came across a sketchy survivor who never gets hooked, always misses skill checks around you, when get downed and mysteriously you are found.
Just now I encountered two toxic players who should not be playing this game come in and body blocked me until killer successfully hook me and then farm on me.
What kind of joy brings this kind of playing style I think I never understand.

How is that a buff even healing speed on others got decreased. You can’t use med kits for the good anymore. So pretty much it’s better not use SC. That’s a plain simple nerf.
Why use a medkit when they halved the penalty on the speed of your infinite heals?

If I'm understanding this change, it isn't good.

It's poorly designed because it punishes your team-mates if they DON'T run Self Care whilst giving a negligible downside to the person running it.

It feels fine where it is right now - it's slow enough that it takes considerable time investment whilst making getting healed by others more appealing. This change will just make it feel mandatory and doesn't promote team-play.

    Exactly this
So I am misunderstanding the situation. I thought you could heal others 100% speed before and now if you run SC it is 75%. Also if you had med kit you could heal others even faster and now it is still 75% speed. So how that is a buff “exactly” still having problem here.
Because there is no difference between you healing yourself or someone else with SC healing you now. So with SC you get all the benefits of healing yourself(not chasing other Survivors, not grouping up, not wasting time that could be on gens, etc) and there is no drawback in speed anymore.

Ok. Now I understand your point. I mostly heal others and be healed by others. That’s why I felt like a nerf.

  • I don’t think TR got nerfed. I just faced a PIG and immediately lost the TR after she crouched.

  • I feel so jealous whose has been having good games. All I get as survivor camping billies and moonwalking legions. As killer lots of tbaggers dushie players and looonger than ever waiting times in lobbies. Already miss the event period.
  • I don’t think so. If that happens killers would had to bring hangman’s trick because pretty much survivors won’t left any hook in the map.
  • I have not tried with bamboozle, but today a Nea keep vaulting from same window 5 times in a row. It supposed to be 3, and then entity should have blocked it
  • Yeah it is disturbing playing as survivor, but it is not visible from killer side, tried it couple of times actually.
  • Yeah it is disturbing playing as survivor, but it is not visible from killer side, tried it couple of times actually.
  • It really depends on the group you’re facing. Overcharge is great especially at lower ranks. Kind of slows down the progress.
I think you are doing the right thing to let go the ones you can’t catch. They can mess up your game really fast. Look for someone easy to down. There must be at least one of them who is lower ranked. It is quite common red ranks team up with newbies to end up low ranked killers.
If you have other perks, try different combinations. You will find new builts for yourself.
  • @Raptorrotas
Yes but you get most of your points from unhooking another survivor. Besides you get the 5000 escape points regardless hooks. I don’t know if you ever encountered such a play but if killer can’t hook anyone you left with max 10000 points escape points including.

I have no problem playing as a solo survivor. It is really not that hard to survive in a match.
So you do gens. You dodge killer. You unhook your teammates. Not get downed in the process. Open gate and walk through, huh? Yeah I mean seems so simple. Something must be missing with me then.
  • @Schorts94
    1. I play killer as well and of course it may change to the survivors I am up against. Time to time I also use this methods to get a kill or just a hook. Also I admire who camps efficiently cause it is harder than it seems for me. But you can’t deny this playing style can be a little boring for the recipient.
    2. Just curiosity how do you suggest they nerf swf without effecting survivors in general.
    3.  I didn’t know WGLF gives extra bp for just running it. Because especially this event times good luck getting an unhook. There is basically a race towards the hook when someone got hooked.
    5. Killer lobbies takes forever either there are many killers than it should be or less survivors to play in that rank which was the point of the post.
Other numbers self explanatory I didn’t wanna do anything about them in the first place.
  •  @Tsulan
camping or tunneling may be in game mechanics does that make them lovable? Who loves being unhooked and hooked within minutes. Me being “salty” about them doesn’t mean I expect something to be done about them. That was kind of the gist there, still playing after all the complaining.

    @Bravo0413
can’t someone share an opinion maybe different than yours and still have a point. Your reasons are solid mine are crap as you call them. Also I am being salty. That’s not one sided at all.

  • first of all wow how did we come here. I made some dumb reasoning based on increasing waiting times on killer lobbies and assumed that must be because of people switching to killer more often than before.  Based on my experience. because how I feel about being survivor sometimes. That was it. Never said dbd player number was down. Never displayed any statistics. I don’t pretend to know official numbers.

@Boss like the title says, it is couple of reasons I could think of why it is sometimes frustrating as sole survivor.

    Yeah, for you.
Never answered your question btw: Reason i stay is cause of Devour Hope.

When you said for you here I assumed it is what you saying. Sorry for miscommunication.
Second line was not really about you, I should have separated your tag.
I feel like I couldn’t express myself correctly just attempting to fix that.

I mean I've even bolded #2 here where it's quite obvious the op is talking about solo.

It is nice to know at least it’s obvious to someone. Thanks for that.
  • @Boss
I save you the trouble “git gud”. That’s what you mean right?
Did I sound like it is published official records for everyone in the game. That wasn’t my intention to clarify.
  • @Vietfox
sorry I should have added that it’s not official numbers. Or maybe IMO tag.
  • @Tsulan I don’t know which part made you think it is bait which I honestly don’t know what that means kinda newbie here, and certainly not understand how it is a call for swf buff.
@Boss like the title says, it is couple of reasons I could think of why it is sometimes frustrating as sole survivor.
@Oooooof Also not a cry for help to developers
I just wanted to share some of that frustration. Like talk it out feel better style.
  • Ohh yeah I would love to punch some of my teammates.
Or kick killer while on the hook.
  • Today I lost 2 hours.

    Ardetha.

+1. Watching him playing Nurse is the highlight of my  day.
  • Hatch showdowns for 20 minutes is sooooooo fun. :|

Such a waste that I don't even really attempt looking for the last Survivor anymore, or stand on top of the Hatch, I just let them go unless I actually run into them as they are jumping into the hatch. Since swinging at them gives them the free escape anyways.

Yeah me neither. I don’t care if they escape I just want to done with the game but sometimes if you don’t find hatch they just stood on it waiting for you. Never really understand why.
  • I don’t think you depip if killer dcs. It seems like you depiped but after you leave the lobby and return to the campfire it restores.

  • It might be intentional. But I had few matches as both survivor and killer when someone burns BPS, they could not load in to the game. It stucks at loading screen and not responding phase.
  • Would it be bad if killers had a perk or an offering that not to have an obsession? Like you don’t become obsessed with any of the survivors in the next trial.
  • Yes it sucks to be camped on the hook, but that’s part of the game. I don’t believe developers force any play style on people, so there won’t be anything basically preventing camping. And it shouldn’t be. I get sick of sitting on hook watching my teammates crouched circling around and slowly die. However when I play killer, I literally understand what’s the deal. Killer doesn’t have many options if he wants to get 4k or 3k. If you don’t go after the injured one, and made one mistake there goes the whole game. Also I understand camping, cause killer knows sooner or later someone will try to save for altruistic points. Maybe basekit kindred help that a bit, but I highly doubt that it “solves” the problem.
Another mention to the successful camping killers out there. I try to face camp someone who got my nerves and it was harder than it seems. Killer has so many limitations against and organized survivors. They swift in and took the hooked one, I could just wave after them.
To sum up I think not camping not gen rushing not tunneling, one of the biggest gaps is ranking. There are so many different skill range and so little rankings for separating them. And pipping system is kind of off. It has good base points but with an evolving game, not enough right now.
  • @powerbats
thanks you so much. I found them.

Yes, there'll be a log saved even if it isn't a crash log per se so anything around that time helps.

One last dumb question then. Where can I find the logs?
  • @powerbats
quick question about the logs. Many of the crashes I have don’t create crash logs. I stuck on loading screen when I click join a lobby or create a lobby and it goes to not responding phase. So I use task manager. Should I also look for crash logs for them?
  • I like the concept of hatch, but it is like the other mechanics in the game open to abusing. I feel like after 3 gens left survivors stop doing gens especially if one survivor was dead already.
  • I’d like to have waving gesture. especially for killers. Sometimes I like to wave those linger at the exit line.
  • Try playing as survivor. You can get 20 games nearly in an hour. I had longer loading screens than some of my games. Get in, first to be seen, get hooked then face camped and die slowly on the hook. Or someone tries to save you, even die faster.
  • Haha just wait until you try skilled Huntress. I had all other achievements for over a year and finally got it. The 100 downs requirement was reduced to 20 on pc but not console.

Holly mother of achievements. It took me forever to get 20 downs. And most of them I got from survivors who are hanging at the exit line. For me the hardest one is hatch escape with 4 survivors.
  • Do you guys know how to earn winter event points? I played couple of games and always get +0 winter event points. This is my first winter too.

Aw, so this is the new excuse.
You are aware that the mechanics of BBQ, right?

If you don't see an aura, there is supposed to be a survivor near.
With distortion, and lockers blocking BBQ, killers will likely get false results.

Kinda unfair to blame the killer for that.
Especially if someone other than Jeff is running Distortion.
Before even Jeff arrived most of the killers I encountered was using bbq for more relax camping. They make sure everybody far away from the hook so break pallets and gens still have time for a tea break.
  • Yes it does start again if you stay in the range.
With nurse’s calling it only blocks your aura. So it is pretty obvious for killer someone is being healed there.
  • I’ve played Freddy and try to pull into dreamworld while they were already asleep. It’s too hard to differentiate who is in the dreamworld.
Also agree with spirit. When she is phasing it is way too foggy and bright.
Survivor sounds generally lower. If only I use stridor it is almost normal. And the beat sounds underneath every killer. It was nice in the beginning but the longer you play the more disturbing it gets.
