True, but that is rather tame for an evil build. DH, NOED and Blood Warden is one that some survivors even expect put into a combo now if I am to be honest. Since a lot of killers started doing Endgame builds more often with Blood Warden specifically.
oh yeah I did not mean it as a build, more like these perks would fit the idea of an "evil" build, thats all
-
The game could do with a better tutorial and a build in wiki, as is, the actual wiki is where you have to go a lot of the time.
-
I see NoeD more then anything as just another slow-down perk, no different from Ruin, Huntress Lullaby, Pop Goes The Weasel, Corrupt Intervention.
Survivors have to locate and destroy totems to completely get rid of the possibility of Noed, that buys the killer time to (hopefully for them) get some more chases and hooks in.
Survivors have the option to rush through it and not destroy totems but the risk is on them for doing so, so crying afterwards about NoeD is rediculous, they chose not to do totems in favor of getting a quick(er) escape, again, the chose to take that risk.
-
who cares? there is the meta that everyone seems to happily run with a few outlyers, 90% of the perks are ignored anyway no matter how fun they might be to actually use.
Wake Up can be godlike in certain situations, but it does not best the meta so ignored.
Pharmacy is also great as an alternative to Self Care (which apperently is the most used survivor perk) but does anyone run it? nope
Vigil is getting a rework but I run it myself on Ash without any exhaustion perk... why? well because survivors reaaaally dont need that much help so I can put in a rather small boost perk without suffering from it and like leader I like the idea of helping my fellow survivors as Vigil affects them as well.
-
anything that suprises survivors would fit this category really.
Devour Hope and NoeD and Blood Warden are pretty much the only perks that I would say fit that.
-
Tbh OP, a LOT of survivors need to "git gud", way too many are simply carried by DS, BT, and especially DH.
Looping etc, idk yeah you have to learn that a bit more, and being just aware of the map and tile sets, there are plenty of vids on the web showing you how to loop those and what to watch out for.
(personally I would recommend Scott Jund)
As for being camped or tunneled, eh, who cares, if a killer does not want to actually play the game, just die and move on to a match where the killer does, same goes vice versa (although in the killers shoes you have to AFK and hope survivors just do their objectives.)
-
What the bleeping hell is up with those graphics....and why are you running add ons?
-
pretty sure because the filter works on an API level it cannot even be blocked by the devs

would not be against it, Huntress Lullaby has 2 things currently working against it.
1 it immidiatly lets survivors know its in play as soon as they touch a gen, very boring.
2 it is of pretty much no value untill its max rank and unless the pressure is going well for the killer, it will be long gone before that.
I still like it though, imo if it just would not tell survivors it was in play and the mere realization of how late the warnings were was the indicator I would think it would be fine, but that goes for a lot of things in this game, it does not reward knowing how the game works, you dont have to figure things out, it just flat out tells you.
Eagerly awaiting the update where it does not only say Hex Lullaby is in play, but also to start looking for totems and a little jpeg showing what a lit totem looks like.....

Gen rush is still a thing. But this is more to showcase what comms can do vs a killer if u watch at the end, the fact that swf can keep a killer busy and tell his sweaty friends to do gens is a perk in itself. On top of the fact how they bullied the crap out of every killer.
With swf comes no fear of threat what so ever. And that is a problem for a horror game.
Survivors have swf. Keys. 360. Etc. Why can't a killer have a mori every now and then?
You act like flashlights are rare when that in itself is somewhat busted. Brb leme vs a full swf with 3 Claude flashlights.
The main showing of that vid was the power of that toolbox.
I agree (and was going to mention) how SWF is just free Bond / Aftercare / Kindred and more (though I personally still like running any of htose perks when I play with some friends as it is more precise).
This game is not a horror game, its a horror THEMED arcade game.
A killer can mori, im just saying just like with keys its weird to bring something unrelated up to make a point, in your vid, like I said before, its not really showing SWF as the problem, its the toolboxes they used that made gens go so fast (not to mention that working on gens is going to be nerfed a bit more on the next patch).
Here is the thing, Gen Rush can happen and does happen just as well on many non SWF matches, simple because if you are not being followed and are not in terror radius....why would you not work on gens? (or totems, those are important as well).
And if the individual player is good at keeping the killer busy, a lot of gens will be done in no time flat, again, nothing to do with SWF, that is just survivors knowing how the game works.
The only point there where SWF has a real leg up is if someone gets downed, they can point to someone to go for the unhook while the rest just continues doing gens, which is very powerful I agree.
-
I had a weird af game with a freddy rank 10 (so yeah pretty much baby) on the Dead Dawg Map,
It was the start of the match, he came for me, I ran a marathon but not a really long one, then when he came close I did my poor excuse for an attempt at a 360, he looked at me, I ran further, jumped a window and he DCed.....
Really no clue, think they might have had some bad games beforehand and while they did look for a new match probably were like "eh F this".
-
this is of no value, might as well link a vid of a killer ebony mori-ing players to show killers are OP, not to mention this is an old vid before the toolboxes were reworked.

btw seeing perks and rank and level was in the game way way back then they removed it i remember it
yeah for the reason of the problems they caused, thats why I say a SWF indicator could be nice to have, just keep it for the endscreen, people might learn more what going against SWF is actually like as right now its more just speculation
-
pretty much been said, its about situations that you have no answer for so you just have to sorta take it.
DS has that when for example the exit door is open, you hook someone who still has DS, they get unhooked.
Now they are just out without being out yet, you can down them but if you pick them up they will DS you and if you let them crawl they will just get out, the only "counterplay" to that is in the past, hooking them earlier and tunneling them to get DS out of the way early but nobody would appreciate that sorta gameplay and it just as well might work against you.
With Spirit, especially Stridor Spirit, if she hits you you start making noise, now you get that adrenaline boost away after the hit, she phases after you and unless there happen to be a pallet closeby (and even if) there is preeeeetty much nothing you can do about it as survivor.
With Freddy idk what they mean perse but as an example it takes him less time then either the Hag or the Trapper to put down a trap, and he telegraphs it much less and can keep an eye on what you are doing while he puts it down, this all makes Freddy rather hard if not impossible to deal with in loops so you have to hope you can reach the next loop in time as soon as you see the bloodtraps being put down.
And if we look at the fake pallets, there is not a single thing indicating that a pallet is fake, you dont know unless you very clearly remember that pallet being thrown down by you or another and you just happen to see that or communicate in SWF that htat pallet is gone (usually that can only be done for easily identifiable pallets like the Shack Pallet or the Cow Tree Pallet.
Other then those very specific situations, the Freddy Fake Pallet has little you can do about it, you just lose.
-
I think an indicater of players were SWF would be an interestng thing to add, but, to prevent the game entirely dying because killers would dodge like mad (maybe, who knows) we should only see that in the end screen.
Just like what perks etc people were running, just show an icon for those who are friends, just so afterwards you can reflect on the match with that knowledge
-
Now I just have to claim that sweet sweet upvote money from CheersTC
-
The one thing I kinda want for doctor is the radial blast attack to take a bit longer to cast just so survivors have a bit more time to potentially hide in a locker.
Right now when you hear it ramp up you are already f'd, which is kinda boring.

No reason to rank up unless you want more stressful games, I often find myself contemplating the idea of taking breaks just to let rank reset do its thing.
or just go for some matches where you know you will derank, like play clown and only hit people wiht bottles, no M1ing, no hooking, non of that, just bottles everywhere.
or Deathslinger, where you do spearshoot survivors but as soon as it connects you break the chain, reload and go for more shots.
You might learn something and you will derank for sure

I'm scared to even think about what's on that tape...
what about Frank's Mixtape? what horrible taste in music might that madman have!!!

@sulaiman said:
Am i the only one that thinks this idea is horrible?
Yes, it would eliminate all those things, but also any saves. You would either be on a gen or in a chase, because on the hook you die, and there is no need to rescue someone.
Thats basicly half the game taken away.
And what does the killer get to compensate that pressure he can´t build up because everyone not in a chase can simply keep to his gen?
For the sake of argument you could make it so that another survivor who is still alive in the trial, would have to let the killed survivor back in via some means, pressing some button or throwing a lever or whatever.
-
add ons make me sick
-
Go play killer till you reach Red Ranks, if you can even make it that far (playing real matches I mean, no camping and tunneling) and see how it goes
-
@Almo said:
As long as Survivors continue playing into campers, camping will continue to work.
thing is though, even if you are a SWF squad it might be hard to tell if a killer is actually camping, going away from the hook, then coming back, oh is he following now? oh he hit me aand.... no he is just camping.
Now a lot of time has been wasted to establish that the killer is just camping.
So do gens, well you wont do gens fast enough, atleast 1 more person will go down and then the probalby have NoeD which you had no time to adress next to the gens.
Even in just about the worst scenario things go well enough for the killer and in the best they get an ez 4k out of it, its a pretty safe bet
Its just lucky not all killer use this effective legit strat because otherwise the game would just die asap from survivors getting fed up by waiting in lobbies only to not get an actual game: Either you dont recognise the camping and the squad dies in a cheap unfun way, or you do and you just do gens and leave, also unfun and a waste of time.
Speaking just for experience, last night I played with 2 friends and we had 3 camping matches in a row, thats almost enough to just call it a night and play something else, thankfully after that we had some good matches but I really kinda fear for the health of the game with this tactic.
Then again it has survived so far so what do I know?

Of course it didn't work. It's about as sensible as going into a thread about how strawberry ice cream is the best saying something "eagerly awaiting people who don't know how a discussion works and bring up chocolate ice cream in a thread about strawberry ice cream". That very statement ironically made it obvious that you don't know how a discussion works if you refuse to accept comparisons.
comparisons....uhhh yeah ok, because that is what that would be...irony.
Ill explain it though, if you discuss a subject, you discuss that subject and not bring up all kinda of different things alongside that, thats not how that works.
If for example you are late for work for a lot of days and the boss has a talk with you about it, saying "yeah but that other dude does it as well" is not important, neither would be the boss themselves being late, you two are talking about you at that point and hte rest is for that discussion not relevant, you are not talking about that at that moment, you can later, but not at that time.
-
Shhhh dont tell them, its part of the fun!
-
Why do you think killers camp?
I just had a game against a rank 2 huntress, as soon as 2 gens were done and the second person (me) got hooked, camping started.
Its pretty rediculous honestly, heck the only reason this game is still alive is because -enough- killers still actually want to play the game instead of camping
idk what the devs can do about it but I feel something should be done, its just way too good a strat which yes is the survivors fault but that does not mean they wont stop playing all together if killers keep camping.

Nice talking, but you forgot that the majority of the survivors aren't even remotely close to being optimal. Also i dont camp/ tunnel etc, those strategies are actually very bad vs good players that know what they're doing.
not really, good players will at best just do gens, and leave with maybe 2 or 3, thats it, unless running perks to carry them but that does not speak volumes about them being good.
And ok, so your reasoning that you are winning is simple that survivors you are playing against arnt good at the game.... great, so once you come across those that are you start doing poorly as well then, making your entire point moot.

Yes because i was totally responsible for annoying that toxic killer in the previous match and i deserve to be held accountable for their actions by being face camped or moried.. also makes total sense.
ah even better, the good ol "do up others what has been done upon me" that shall make the game a better place....

@NovaliumTS said:
Fix this now! I am sick and tired of ranking down as survivor because a stupid instadown killer decides to ruin my game by camping me out of the damn match as soon as im caught, ive just had 3 games in a row where ive just been hooked and camped from the second ive been caught ive gone over half an hour without being able to play a proper match because of these inconsiderate killers.
I dont want to go toxic on this game and i even stay away from ds but if this keeps happening then i think ill be fully justified to bully the hell out of them using ds and other toxic perks as it just serves them right for being camping <bad word> to me
Yeah because the next random player is totally responsible for those that camped you and deserved to be held accountable for their actions...makes total sense.

What is it with ur negative attitude always :/ and no, i'd rather take a stun then points, because i care more about how well the chase is going rather than my bp gain
How am I negative? Im merely trying to see where hte problem lies.
A killer is in an animation that breaks a pallet
You time it correctly (from your perspective) so you get the stun points
The killer breaks the pallet as their ability would grant them to but dont suffer the stun because they were in the animation.
So do you not want it to register as a stun? Do you not want to be granted the points? or do you want to instead reverse the current situation and deny the killer the entire pallet hit and just get stunned and nothing else? because I can tell you now that from their perspective, they were on point as well.
This is mostly just an issue with the lag/connection, but atleast the game recognises you timing and awards you the points, but it wont just abort the killers animation at that point as it cant.

using the word "literally" does not add anything there.
Apart from that, would you rather not be given the stun points?
-
also, also, the ability to see what the other survivor perks are during loading ,where is that on the PC?
AND Why does it look so good, why does it look like it does on the phone yet on the PC is relatively so heavy to run, what potato opimization is going on there?
-
That perk thing on the mobile version, like holy crap why is that not on the pc version yet?
-
Its nothing new, just gotta hope the replacement will do its job.
The one thing you should be happy with though, as that in principle this is only done to make sure you get a match to begin with and not just sit there in lobby for 300 years.
-
While I get the reasoning, I would like to point out that while I do a lot of SWF myself I do still massively enjoy running perks like Bond or Aftercare which a perk like Third Seal still directly counters.
-
I would love to help but its really all on you what you find fun and not.
A friend of mine does not like FPS games so she does not like playing Huntress or Deathslinger, another friend just likes the look and sound and concept of the demogorgon he plays that killer most.
As far as perks, I think you are robbing yourself if you get DS tbh, yeah its a safety net but man do people seem to rely on it, but then again....
Idk its just hard to advice any randommer on the internet about these things, I own all the DLC as I just like variation and trying new stuff so if you were me literally any DLC would do.
From a practical perspective, Leatherface's DLC would be good just for BBQ&Chilli, its a good perk to keep a match going and it provides extra bloodpoints which are nice to have if you try to level things up, Leatherface himself however, I mean I like him, I like everything, but many consider him rather weak sooo again its just hard to give advice on this stuff.
-
Related but unrelated, seeing as you are here anyway, could you ask whoever is in charge of this to perhaps put PARTS of outifts on discount next time you guys do an ingame store discount?
Like every time skins are on discount, its always only for the full outfit, well personally I dont like running full sets, its boring to me, too preset, I like mix and matching.
But the individual parts of these discounted outfits are never on discount themselves, I would love for this to be changed for future discounts.

I'd happily give up keys if they take Moris, I never use keys, either die holding it or can't find hatch, I think moris get at least one use per match, but mostly in the games I've played its been all of us..
Played a match against a huntress this morning, she hooked me turned around and threw a hatchet at two people working on a gen really far away and it hit one of them, that's crazy.
The sad thing is, I think most people would be fine with mori's requiring a lot more conditions to be met before being able ot use it, (I dont want them removed because its a cool and fitting part of this type of slasher horror theme they are going for) but the problem is that some see it and use it as their only weapon against what they perceive to be a toxic 4man SWF squad.
And the problem is there that we dont have much of an answer for such a squad besides Ebony Mori's because of the perks and items and communication they bring.
Its just a bad experience for all to have this much match skewing stuff in the game and you dont fix it by adding more OP match skewing stuff to either side, you fix it by adjusting or removing the stuff that is too powerful atm.
Buuuut hey, from the dev's pov, the amount of players has doubled compared to about a year or so ago so hey, things are going well, better not mess with things too much and risk our money maker.
Which is reaaaally sad because we have a ptb, we could change anything asap, heck just to test we could change so many things and if they dont work out, just revert, its not like they in the passed have shiedd away from that (cough cough hatchet hitbox).

Also make him 110. He throws his bottles so is basically a ranged killer like huntress and he's obese
That or we keep his current speed but make him have to stop and catch his breath every 15 meters, we can just use the pallet-stun animation and play it in x0.75 slowmotion or something, should be ez to program.

Lol, okay my bad, offering.
Well there I can agree with you but that is a big problem with the game as a whole.
The devs dont want to call it competative so all these items that massive skew the game balance are fine in there eyes (yet we cant have 21:9 aspect ratio support cuz too much advantage but I digress...).
I dont find much of it much fun myself, if I am facing an irridecent huntress I just run up and die on the first hook because imo that huntress never had the intention of actually playing the game, they just wanted an ez win soooo here you go, ez win, meantime ill move on to a fair challenge as that is what I seek in my games.

You are literally putting words in my mouth, I literally never said that killers can never dodge lobbies. I never said "put a SWF indicator or let killers dodge lobbies."
I was saying that putting a SWF indicators would just let killers dodge the lobbies, they'd see a SWF then immediately leave the lobby and SWF would NEVER get into a game or take a very long time
ah I see how you meant it now and that is basically what I mentioned as well somewhere in this thread.
That said I want to point out your are using "literally" wrong, you are not the only one falling for this but you are using it to add ermm power? to the statement.
Literally putting words in your mouth would mean I have a handful of words and I am there with you in your room, opening your mouth and putting them in, just saying.
