as much as I don't want him it just might be candyman. I could care less for an active bee ability but I already made a topic about that.
I'm hoping its Deadlights Chapter but I think a dev posted something wording it with bee and an emoji of 🍬 soooo... idk at this point

I just buy saw chapter and play as pig in purple rank. My opinion about him "She is so weak."
Trap can easily removed on first try. Many people still do gen rush even with trap in their head and after 1 gen done the trap activated and just that time he search for jigsaw boxes and release the trap in first try ( not even stall the game little bit )
Her power only m1 killer and crouch dash, while other killer which not licensed is more superior than her In terms of killer power ( doctor , spirit , Oni , gunslinger )
My opinion pig in C or D rank killer. Any idea from Devs team to buff this killer ? or how about your opinion about her guys ?
my piggy is a way of life. She has one of the most important things these days, match slowdown. Her addons are pretty decent and regardless if it takes 1 time or 3 times to take the mask off. That is wasted time which is very valuable.
She has a pretty situational mind game which if used right saves you time.
You can do a slow tbag, and hearing a jigsaw box laugh at a fail is oh so sweet.
The beartrap also have a placebo effect of panic on some survivors.

Its ok, but...I've already noticed some children. Mobile and tablet gaming is full of them. So get ready to see an influx of kids coming to dbd console etc.

HE didn't do that, THEY just automatically thought that. THE people he killed called his name 5 times, including her if I remember correctly. It wasn't like he was going around saying "LOOK OFFICERS, SHE KILLED ALL THOSE PEOPLE".
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1274651#Comment_1274651
It was never said he raped kids, in the original anyways. The remake is just that, a remake. I don't consider it the source material any more than I consider Child's Play's "remake" source material, considering neither follow the actual storyline of the originals.
Actually just like people get the idea of where Freddy's glove came from wrong which was actually an idea from the creators cat clawing the side of his couch. The original freddy was suppose to be a pedophile. But at that point in time it was pretty much a no go for films and books. So they swapped him to child killer.
The remake actually brought him back to his roots.
On a side note: did anyone notice that myers is a pretty good driver despite being locked up his whole life.

why do people still think alien would be in dbd? Aliens skills wouldn't fit in the dbd map. It.just can't contain an alien. Picture a xeno chasing you at 115 speed... also picture trying to pallet vault or window vault a xeno. It just doesn't work.
as for the rest of the topic I hope it is Deadlights
-
ayyy bruhh... so that's where my toilet cover went. *snatches that shi7 back*

Why not add a bot mode to the game. Hear me out.
A bot mode where players can use any perk any killer and practice on bots for no blood points. At least this gives some idea on how to use a killers ability and learn the different maps and pallet spawns. This infact reduces rank skill and also reduces the slag of post about matchmaking.

I personally hope it is Pennywise (specifically Skarsgard's version) as I love the character.
I could easily see the new killer being "The Deadlights", new survivor Bill Denbrough (grown up James McAvoy version of course), and the map would be The Sewers or town of Derry, Maine.
It could be Candyman but when I read "marked the world of horror", that doesn't sound like Candyman as unfortunately he is one of the lesser known horror icons.
Lore wise, I could never see The Entity having control over Pennywise (Deadlights). The Entity's lore also reminds me of the Deadlights.
Yeah I couldn't see a diety being overtaken by the entity unless the entity strikes some sort of deal.

I was unable to hook him or drop him, everytime I'd press the "hook" button or the "drop" button I froze in place. Couldn't pick up any Survivors I downed with my traps because he was still on my shoulder. I have video proof if needed, but is this a known bug?

@Feiten Listen, I hate F13 the game and its fanboys as much as anybody else, I still remember a time when they all gloatingly came to the Dead By Daylight Steam forums (because the ones we are on now did not exist yet) and all repeated the same tired line "F13 iS gOnNa KiLl DbD!! CaN't WaIt FoR tHiS Sh*tTy gAmE tO DiE hEhE" and then karmic justice rang out a beautiful song as the game released with really bad issues from their dedicated servers and reviews on release paled in comparison to the reviews DBD got on release as it turned out the game kinda sucked. And then it got a little better with the continued support they got, but the final nail in the coffin slammed it shut sealing the game's fate through a lawsuit and people realized F13 would never kill Dead By Daylight. It was here before and it would still be here after that game's lifetime ran out.
DBD was an indie game and a relative unknown before it released, and then on release it blew up vastly bigger than the people who enjoyed it and even bigger than the devs expected. Way bigger like, selling all the copies they expected to sell in the entire lifetime of the game in under a year, and continuing to grow for years and years beyond bigger. Dead by Daylight was kind of an underdog not gonna lie, and then here came F13 with all its backers and hype months before release that Dead By Daylight never had the benefit of. It was extremely satisfying to see DBD come out on top with it's unique art design, lore, characters, over a well known and reputable franchise that has had the benefit of decades to build up a solid fanbase and reputation. To see DBD outlast (pun? maybe..) F13 and all its pesky and annoying fanboys was nothing short of incredible.
However,
Even you can't deny that Jason is in fact a cultural icon and a widely known in many parts of the globe. Ignoring the rise and fall of "F13: The Game" this character himself has captivated the fears of audiences for literal decades right alongside the faces old and new we see in Dead By Daylight now: Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, Ghostface and likely many more to come. Dead By Daylight is the amalgamation of all kinds of horror stories and a true revival of the slasher genre, it's basically the Super Smash Bros Ultimate of horror. It would be a huge disservice both to the game, and to the genre it hails from that it seeks to praise to not include what is basically a figurehead of horror. To willingly and knowingly pass up even the smallest chance, the slightest possibility to add what is basically a legend to the ranks of characters that populate the game.
And yeah, Trapper is great. I love that there's a significant chunk of the community that continues to voice the support of the devs to continue to come up with their own new, unique, and original stories. To see that the characters they've made that were inspired by the very licenses they have access to now, have gone above and beyond to stand on their two legs is crazy. But that's just it, they do stand on their own two legs no longer is it "Trapper was meant to fill the role of Jason because we would never even dare to dream of securing that character" it's "Trapper is the face of Dead By Daylight, a popular and successful 4 v 1 asymmetrical horror multiplayer game". Trapper is his own character, with his own unique backstory and lore, he is not Jason. It's important to remember your origins and where you came from and yeah, it's no secret Trapper was inspired by the character. But with the success of Dead By Daylight he has stepped out of his predecessors shadow spawning all kinds of artwork, cosplay, and general love for the character. Hell, he even won the "Canadian Video Game Award for 'Best New Character' - 2016" I don't honestly know how significant that is in the circles of the industry especially since I don't live in Canada but hey, it was big for the dev team especially at the time.
Trapper isn't Jason nor does he only "fit the role of Jason" he has gone beyond that. He serves a greater purpose and holds a greater significance to the game now. They both deserve to be in to be perfectly honest, and I think that's perfectly reasonable. Time and time again the devs have defied the naysayers of the community who at one point in time vehemently opposed Ghostface saying things like "he's just a normal human, what kind of power would he even have?" a sentiment that sounds very similar to the rhetoric you yourself seem to be so keen on (the idea that Jason can't have a unique power). Yet the devs themselves proved their creativity and their capability and here Ghostface is and not only that but he is a genuinely viable and strong killer to play. Might as well be a spit in the face of anyone who ever doubted the possibility of which there were several. Jason's history is long and spans several films more than Ghostface so it's not like there is no source material to work from there's plenty to think of.
Here's an idea that I don't think anyone on this thread has said yet:
Jason's power would have something to do with a thick fog (thicker and far more dense than what exists in the trial naturally). Something that spans a large area and surrounds him that making it difficult to see farther than a few meters when inside it (of course not for the killer). Survivors that are inside this fog suffer from blindness and become oblivious. And now clearly that's not a full power all by itself but there's obviously more room to do things with this ability to flesh it out. Maybe he throws it out to cover entire areas, maybe there's a second part to that power which he can activate to make it a global effect covering the entire map in this extremely thick fog, and during this time he can teleport. Since nobody can see anything he can teleport anywhere (as long as it's not right on top of a survivor).
The point is it's a power tailored to the character specifically that is indeed unique to the character, and that's just me some random wacko community member who's taken the time to literally type paragraphs of what may or may not be complete nonsense depending on what is released in chapter 16. But it does prove one thing: which is that it's possible. So quit with your own nonsense that's it's not because it clearly can be done.
At the end of the day, at least my own personal distaste for F13 and preference for DBD and its unique combination of original and licensed content was in no small part due to the silly and stupid rivalry between the communities of F13 and DBD. And to his credit Riley wasn't wrong that we can enjoy all these games because that's just what we should do as horror fans. So for me anyway, I'm taking off the crusader helmet because that battle is over and in a sense "we won" F13 the game is basically gone at this point. But there's no need to add insult to injury and refuse / bar access to fans who are looking for a similar and arguably better experience and want the same for a character that they care about so he can live on so to speak. Something that F13 the game could never offer them. So now I welcome F13 its "pesky annoying fanboys" to Dead By Daylight and Jason with open arms.
I have no idea why I wrote all this. Though at the same time I mean, it's not like I've got anything better to do given the circumstances..
That Ability idea I like. Thank you.
I know Jason is an icon but I stood by that if we never got him ill always have trapper and mothers dwelling to act like a jason. And it works out well enough. But I doubt due to legal issues that dbd will ever see Jason before it dies.
Powercreep wise the game needs more original killers.

Why does it matter what a game developed by people unrelated to dbd chose to do in that game? Also if i remember correctly, bear traps were A power not his only power in game.
Yes, i do beleive the devs admitted when they created trapper they took inspiration from Jason. That in no way diminishes their ability to come up with a power that seperates the two and makes each distinctive.
I get you could care less if jason was added. I respect that. I however would love to see him in this game. What are his powers? Well Ive listed a couple. They may not be great but i haven't thought much about it. The developers on the other hand, if they were to attain Jason would have to him justice. They would take more than 5 minutes to list ideas.
Also telling someone that their opinion is worthless because they can't come up with creative powers is nonsense. In the end all any of us can do is have faith that the developers can create fun unique powers regardless of original or licensed killer.
Would You prefer jason or a original killer.

I've said in my opinion trapper is dbds version of Jason and that they are infact very similar. This dates back to the same post from 2017.
F13 used beartraps cause thats all jason can really do in a video game world. He fills a brute role. When I ask what powers can you name that jason has that u can implement into the game they just say " they are not similar " I can't think of the powers the devs can"
Why do you think f13 went with beartraps. Cause Jason is not all that diverse from trapper.
I think the devs should back away from licensed killers and make some more original ones

The word toxic gets overused. I play legion a lot, what youre doing is out playing them. Its just a trick they have to learn to counter. Kind of like when people run straight at a blinking nurse, eventually that nurse learns to recognize that and shorten the blink
Can You really call it outplaying them tho? The damn auto target on console takes over when a player 360s so its almost as if it feels abusive.
On the other hand I respect 360s and hit after. Same with DH its just annoying. Wouldnt call it toxic.

What’s your point? I played the F13 game for over a thousand hours before playing DBD. I know he used bear traps, but the gameplay on that game is different than DBD.
The killer has one main power on DBD and in F13 the main killer IS Jason who has multiple powers and bear traps just added an extra layer to him to make him stronger. It was needed to make the objectives more dangerous for the counselors to complete so they did immediately fix the car or the phone box. It was for gameplay purposes not because it cannon to the movie series.
Doesn’t change the fact that his power (if he was ever added) should NOT ever be trap related and that he only used a trap one time in the actual movies.
When I think “how does Jason Voorhees kill his victims” I think either with a machete or with his bare hands in a unique way...not a bear trap.
I don’t see how Trapper and Jason are even comparable other than them looking very slightly similar.
My point is you're wrong 😉
You made up a conversation that translates into jason using bear traps as an ability for dbd..no one said that.
They are indeed similar. If you can't wrap your mind around it idk what to tell ya, kid.
-
holy hell thats insane lol
-
Bear Traps are common weapons used within Friday the 13th the Game with it being a limited set for Jason Voorhees but an unlimited set for Counselors. A quick and easy setup for Jason to use to trap counselors within certain Objectives be it the Phone and or the Cars

He could teleport anywhere on a map as long as it wasnt within so many meters of a survivor or at least not in there sight. He was always popping up behind people.
I like the whole built in mori idea
His basic attacks could break walls and pallets. He does that a lot
He could have built in tracking through audio whispers. Kill kill kill kill....chop chop chop chop
He could also have to grab weapons found in lockers after every hook.
These are off the top of my head and probably pretty bad but im not a developer. I haven't had a year or so to come up with powers.
Point is trapper looks like Jason. He is NOT Jason.
Thats why I said within limitation of dbd. Everything you named is pretty broken.
If he can basic attack a pallet he would have to be the slowest killer
Built in mori could work but only if it was a built in devour. Still pretty broken
Whispers we have that in the form of a perk
You can't make a good Jason in dbd and that is the point I'm trying to make. He is great in f13 but none of that works here without dumping all over the survivors.
@Bovinity please don't quote me again if you choose to be illiterate and not read the post lm replying to, as the person I replied to said the frame, the weapon, the strength etc thats all of my time you will get for that.
Again trapper is as CLOSE to Jason as it gets without screwing him up.

Yes, Trapper is based on Jason aesthetic wise, but he doesn’t fill the role of Jason because their powers would not be similar in the slightest. Jason only used bear traps in one of his movies and that was the 2009 remake. He always killed people in unique ways and didn’t need a bear trap. When you think of bear traps and slasher villains, you don’t think of Jason Voorhees. They both wear a mask, use a machete, and are big imposing figures but that is where the similarities end.
I’m pretty sure they took inspiration from Samara (The Ring) when making Spirit but that doesn’t mean down the line that Samara isn’t a possibility. Billy and Leatherface are another prime example.
Think of all the unique ways that Jason killed his victims and then look at Trapper’s power and especially his mori. Do you think that really does Jason Voorhees justice?
If ANYBODY were to fill Jason’s role, it would be Myers not Trapper. I would still love Jason though since alongside Myers, he is the most infamous slasher icon.
I mean you can sit and tell me they are different all day long but in the end even in your post the only thing different is the powers. So going off your post 90% of trapper is already jason.
So please again enlighten me. Other then a built in mori, with dbd limits In mind what could Jason's powers be to make him a fun killer and diverse from trapper.
I'll wait.

I disagree, the devs most certainly could find some unique powers for Jason and to be fair, yes, Trapper is most certainly off brand Jason and as much as I love him, I'd gladly take the real deal any day. Plus, like my friend @MegMain98 said, Trapper is really only Jason in aesthetic and lore wise because I can only recall Jason using traps in the remaake.
You "Disagree" and then leave it up to the devs to make his powers? Please name some of his powers besides super human strength, regeneration, and a slight teleportation.
Trapper is already Jason lite. He would be a waste of development we could have on an original killer. So when I disagree with you ill gladly give you a reason. Not just
" I disagree the devs can come up with his powers"
Going off Jason the only power he could really have is to put a built in devoured hope that's modified. He would be a walking mori. Again imo a waste of dev time

The problem being that if a Killer is in a locker, he's letting Survivors do gens unopposed.
And if he's not in the locker, then he can't grab people.
And he'd have to hope survivors walk past that specific locker while he's in it..
Understandable. But lockers are usually near gens, if u had a killer that could lets say travel from lockers. Or do a freddy bit where they can warp inside lockers on a cooldown.
-
I honestly don't care too much for Jason imo trapper fills his role quite well if not infact he seems to be molded with Jason in mind.
All he is really missing is a hockey mask. And as far as abilities go Jason could somewhat teleport. That's really the only difference.
-

Slugging is a valid strategy just like ds, Unbreakable is. Killers also have perks encouraging slugging. If I down one person and see another right off the bat imma slug you. Ur team shouldn't be rushing me when I down one if you. Also as above said this is what " keep pressuring the gens, bro."has become and now that killer's try and do that you see survivors complain.

Is there really a difference in vaults? I still get hit through windows when I clearly made it.

Now why would the devs know killers are going to dodge SWF if they add a icon like you say, so they don't add it on to avoid the lobby dodge...oh right.. cause they know SWF has some sort of advantage over the killers that causes killers to dodge.
I dont mind swf but I really dislike the swfs that think they have no advantage or free perk whatsoever.

BHVR absolutely rewards this play style, 100%. They are not punished, or it wouldn't be a go-to play style at Red Ranks. You would like to think it's not rewarding, but it is. And the game goes a step further and even ENCOURAGES this behavior by inputting challenges like the one where Killers need to death hook everyone in the basement.
"Survivors reward camping by unhooking in a killers face before giving the killer a chance to leave"....if a killer is CAMPING, they aren't leaving. This doesn't make sense. I think you're trying to say that it's a survivor's "fault" that face camping can be viable because they feed the killer. Which has its merits as an argument. But, this happens because a camping killer is ruining everyone's match. And aside from just being empathetic humans who want everyone to get a chance to play the game, survivors need off-hooks, heals, chase, bold, etc. to pip and gain points. Killers can gain points A LOT quicker doing less because their pts are not shared.
An unfed, face camping killer is probably the least rewarded of them all, but still racks up decent BP and depending on how their post-kill game progresses will at least safety PIP. If they couple this with NOED, they will very likely get more than one kill.
And facecamping is just one of these considerations. A Killer who doesn't face camp, but proxy camps to return to every hook and tunnel the off-hooked survivor is HEAVILY rewarded for this behavior. Assuming people don't kill themselves on hook because this is no fun at all, the Killer amasses tons of points for finding, hitting, re-hooking, and ultimately sacrificing survivors...and can do so pretty quickly. Couple proxying, which often allows you to return to the hook for the off-hook animation and hit the off-hooker, with slugging the off-hooked survivor and downing the un-hooker, and the game slows down immensely and now you have two opportunities to tunnel/down your next two survivors. Lather, rinse, repeat...this tactic is not difficult and highly rewarded...which is why THIS is more frequently seen in Red Ranks than something like an insidious camping Bubba.
And because all of these tactics are allowed AND provide killers with decent BP/pips, they are rampant in the game. Thus, again, survivors - especially solos - don't have much option to vary perks and instead need to be mindful that these are consistently used play styles that require specific counter perks for the best probability of survival.
Camping Isn't rewarded and is supremely punishable by the gens getting knocked out while the killer waste time. You solo que I get that but killers only camped because it pretty much became a SWF hot zone. If you all didn't flock to the hooks at the same time to make a save you probably would get away. I've won so many games with only 1 person on the hook during EGC
Cause survivors wanna play tbag hero and save EVERYONE. Do u think killers enjoy going thru hell to catch someone just so u can have a second chance and a third chance to just get away with all the bs perks. Some killers are not that great and are forced to play this way due to the current matchmaking but if you honestly believe a killer enjoys to sit by a hook all day and stare at your ugly mug you're mistaken

Because most r1 Killers use the same predictable play style they need to counter.
Really a survivor main response to an open ended post. I'm not taking sides im saying killers have more build varieties then survivors use. You ether have a camping killer or one who hooks u and walks away, 50/50 but survivors have the same build over and over again 10/90 in R1.
I see thrilling tremors used, endurance, i just always see different killer builds. But survivors seem to just build for being tunneled. Sad, isn't it?
One of the beat survivors I know runs Windows of Opportunity. Thats nice to see.

Honestly I'd rather them get rid of kindred. And put in an ingame survivor chat. Cause watching 3 yellow blobs trying to unhook you vs a Bubba camper is painfully annoying.
It's like they have to be told " guys go do gens he's wasting his time camping me"

I find that when we go against a Wraith, however, I damn near never make it out alive. That cloaking ability is so annoying and when I hear the “ding ding” I know it’s over. I hate that stupid sound at this point but I never quit my matches.
Have You seen devoured Wraith. That things unstoppable

I don't mind ds except for the times I've hooked someone went across the map hooked another came back caught the guy I hooked first picked him up and boom ds. Honestly wouldnt mind if they cut the time a little shorter otherwise don't complain when I slug as soon as I see obsession.

I think the only fix he needs is not hindering his speed when bottle in hand. The bottle honestly doesn't do that much. Infact the times I've played clown its blinded me! And lost me hits. But idk what most of his addons do so I can't really say if that would make or break him

I'm mad i don't see flip flop or boil over used more. So many interesting perks but most r1 survivors use the same predictable builds...

Nea- cause when I play survivor she's my main and I know how annoying I can be with her...
Spirits- my looping ability goes down the toilet
Pig- I main mrs piggy and the only thing that oinks me is when I see another player use her and crouch the entire map.

I’ve been playing Dead By Daylight regularly for 8 months and noticed since like February that people keep holding the exit switch down until all 3 lights come on but will not finish opening the door. I do everything that I can in each match. I’ll pull someone off the hook twice, do at least two engines , open one chest, distract the killer for chase points, hit the killer with the pallet, but when that last engine is complete my ass is out like Scooby Doo... or at least I try to be until I make it to the exit and someone is standing in front of the exit switch with all three lights illuminating. Half of the time, I’ll make it to the door and see all three of the lights on and it’s ready to be opened, but someone left it this way. Why is everyone doing this suddenly and what is the purpose?
It counters a few perks if you wanna save friends and prolongs EGC. Its actually a strategy.
