  • Small Game should get a trap aura reading buff tbh

  • Would you rather be waiting for 2 hours to get a lobby of players actually at your rank?

  • welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy your stay.

  • This is like saying you feel its unfair that you bought the game but cant run it on your Pentium 2 processor....

You need proper internet to play online games, its just a requirement, that is all there is to that.

Now the corona virus is not stopping you form buying a new router, get real, everyone orders that stuff online.

Financial well...time to safe up some money, you have time you wont be playing for a while anyway ;)

It would definitely be nice to have. I'm not so sure about seeing other people's stats, but seeing your own would be great.

I'm not sure if you understand just how much work goes into a feature like that when a game isn't built with it in mind from the ground up.

Im pretty sure I dont, but you guys keep track of stats/data for this game all the time (atleast I hope so...), so much of it is tracked already otherwise we would not have achievements that are specifically about tracking certain actions of individual players.

Now its just a matter of making that data visible to the players themselves.

  • and you already deem yourself knowledgable enough to judge the game and give feedback regarding balance? yikez....

  • Ermm idk about you guys but just google image "texas girl" or "texas woman" and you will find a thousand inspirations for Kate.

Why did Jessica Biel dress that way for the movie... because it takes place in texas....

  • so when you heal someone for one health state using For The People, Second Wind does not activate? that makes no sense whatsoever.

I can see it not working if Second Wind were to activate within the broken status effect time of For The People, but if that time has passed it should just work.

Probably just more spaghetti code on the dev's part.

  • welcome to the forums, enjoy your stay

  • what is the most disturbing of all is your use of clickbait titles

  • Damn, I knew thana was a mindgame perk only, but I did not know its mindgame was so strong people would actually ask for a nerf lol

  • Waiting for someone to link Not_Queen's reply stating they want to do this but its not high priority from like 2 years ago........

It wont happen man, its actually amazing how people keep coming to these forums with the same rather basic requests for years and the devs just dont do anything and its fine, ez money through no staff to hire to actually work on stuff for this game.

I would not be suprised if this game is maintained by like 10 devs.

  • welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy your stay

  • bringing items into matches is pretty depressing to start with tbh....

  • I have suggested this a long time ago, make it an effect applied on whatever cosmetic you are running.

But the think is, these devs would not be able to code that to save their lives, they are not that good.

the excuse "rank means nothing" is so so so weak. if rank means nothing why does it take players months to break to green ranks? why isnt everyone rank 1 killer and survivor? rank does show knowledge and experience, it might not mean they play every match flawlessly but if you're 8 ranks above them, it's safe to say they're most likely better than you.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1211363#Comment_1211363

i do this all the time. you can CLEARLY tell when a survivor is going to be a red rank, based on how they loop and read your mindgames and respects, they trust themselves to greed, know how to run every tile and hit consistent flash saves even when im looking at a wall and cant see them. trust me, i can tell.

the only game i've gone against people my rank in the past few months was the 1 game where i caved and went AFK to derank on purpose. i was against people below me, that time.

killer queues are now <30 seconds for me, and they used to be up to 15 minutes. it takes me less than half a minute to find a frustrating match that makes me lose my will to learn and get better every time 4 teabagging flashlight clickers escape, when before i'd see 2 toxic flashlight neas once in a blue moon. my survivor queues are 5 minutes now. what im trying to say is, it's not just me. people arent playing killer as much, more people are bringing moris out of frustration (and im with them there) and survivor queues are suffering for it.

Why does it take months....because that is all it takes, time, not skill, its almost purely a matter of just playing the game a ton rather then being actually good at it.

Even the devs recognise this hence the system is getting changed.

On your second claim of "Clearly being able to tell this" im sorry but this is just a lie, YES if you see some super rare survivor who actually knows what they are doing you know they are red rank because what else would they be? apart from purposeful de-ranking.

This is a case of "a cow is an animal but an animal is not necessarily a cow" a fantastic player will be red rank, but a red rank player will not necessarily be fantastic, im a case in point, im always rank 4 to 1 and im the biggest potato you will find, cant loop to save my life, im just at that rank because I play a lot and I play a lot with friends so im boosted that way as well.

When you play killer and you see an absolute potato (like myself) you think, must be like rank 12 or so but nope, rank 7, or 4 or something that you would think does not represent their skill shown at all....and that is because it simply doesn't.

Rank = time spend on the game, not skill.

  • entirely subjective, there is no definition of winning or being good at this game tbh.

take Otz, he is normally a very fair killer, but when he does poorly he "does what he must" to win, which (even admitted by himself) often is quite scummy.

does that make him a good player? well...he plays to get as many kills as he can at that point no matter how he will get it...but is that good? entirely subjective.

  • last couple of days, zero perk runs

  • my old af phone cant run it so not for me, otherwise I would be interested myself

  • ermm I just play the game....

  • this has nothing to do with anything intentional from the killer side, dont make a new account to share this stupidity.

  • because playing killer is so ez these days its not fun to play.

  • no, more like I will decide for myself how I play this game.

I mean im not going to tell you not to use add ons as killer or whatever either now am I?

  • a lot of DBD players love drama, that is all, they need to get a life.

  • Very often being not so hellbend on a gen is the way to go.

Heck often survivors will tank hits just because they fear the Pop wielding killer so much and want to get the gen done.

While in reality, a killer often feels that once the gen is popped then can leave it comfortably and focus on something else, that is your chance to jump on it and finish it with relatively little risk

  • I mean, thanks? ill play how I want though.

  • I mean, not to be a dick or whatever, but who cares?

Why do you care what other people think of a killer, literally has no influence on you.

I guess maybe you are afraid that their moaning will lead to another....(puke in my mouth) Freddy...... guess that is a healthy fear to have.

Anywho, to answer you question, I think Deathslinger is pretty great.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I play mostly killer and see the common toxic survivor all the time. I'm desensitized to the creature at this point. I can deal with the toxic 4 man that just wants to get under my skin. I just think about the ton of BP I'll still get.

But when I play survivor and get the hardcore tunneling or camping axxhole who later admits he just wants to get salt, he does not care about playing the game, that makes me shake my head.

This game has little hope if it can't reign in its toxicity.

but....as survivor you already have a surrender button...literally just let yourself die on the first hook?

  • probably not, probably an extra week in between.

But hey, new Wraith and Jane skins!

  • Killers are preeeetty toxic in engame chat as well but anyway, report and move on

LOL This was clearly a person new to this killer. Doesn't really prove much when you curb stomp someone an average 5 ranks lower than your lowest survivor playing a killer that is obviously not their main. 😂

its just one screenshot taken because of the ebony, we been doing games all day with on average 3 of us escaping so yeah

  • No news but I would love for the game to have this, especially for the Switch version as that is a portable console.

After this next update you've successfully ruined the game. Seriously if you're a killer who's whining about ANYTHING right now its cause you're a sweaty try hard who feels like your feeble attempts at a 4K should be rewarded. Good luck trying to get any challenging games after the update. Views have gone down on twitch. DBD main streamers are changing to other games. Like you can hit me around the tree what more could you want? 99% of you slug the last two to prevent hatch. I'm just confused. Honestly.

idk, I have been playing 4 man SWF without perks or items and we have been having a great time tbh soo yeah.

Maybe, just maybe, if toxic players started having crap matches because others don't want to be involved in it, then they may learn to play as if they are in the same room with the others. Sure, there are those that would "quit" just because they are losing, but by and large the bigger problem is azzhats who enjoy ruining other's fun. This game has zero repercussions for toxic players. The more toxic you are, the more success you seem to have. It is a disease that will ultimately kill the game. If the developers really want to breath life into the game and give it a chance to grow, they have to figure out how to start directing players to a more civilized format.

Yes, I get that this game is all about hunting and killing, but it is based on a jump-scare, casual party style of a game. Unfortunately, the developers have long protected toxic play styles as "strategies" on both sides and it has a stifling affect on the player base, keeping it from growing as it should.

And you think my method is not the same as having a "crap match"?

Disarming toxic players, not allowing them to be toxic by simply going afk and throwing the match entirely is kinda what a crap match for them is.

Thing is though, lets be real about this, plenty of jaded characters on both sides, I am playing survivor games with 3 of my friends (so yes full squad SWF) with no perks used by any of us just for fun, its kinda liberating (not that I ever used the meta to begin with).

We had a killer DC on us after the first gen claiming we were cheating by which they meant Discord SWF, now this is not about wether or not that is cheating, the point is nothing at that point was even done due to discord, teh game barely started, 1 gen was done and the killer claimed that through discord a other survivor went back on the gen....if you arent being followed you do gens...

Point is, killers like survivors dying on the hook will just choose to dip out if it goes poorly as they have no faith it will change even though it often does and because of that very few games will ever reach the end I would expect which is not healthy for the game.

I know its unfair but killers just have to suffer through it.

Though I am in favor of the EGC simply starting (with some timer tweaking obviously) once the last gen is popped, leaves some interesting endgame gameplay.

When the new patch arrives, you won't be able to do it anymore, that's why everyone is complaining about it here

no it will be perfectly doable with the new patch as well, again multiple lines for this sorta thing work, just need to wait for some people more knowledgebly on the subject to give us those lines.

and otherwise Nvidia has the sharpening tool that helps and we need to wait for AMD's sharpening tool to be DX11 viable

I know about Engine.ini, but the problem here is that after the PATCH no one will be able to disable AA through that file, that's why they need to give us the option to disable it in-game.

actually you just need to change the overriderender line for one of two other options.

    I personally use [/Script/Engine.GarbageCollectionSettings]

  • He is just really cheap.

First im just pissed what they did to Freddy, I LOVED old freddy, one of my fav killers, so unique and so fitting.

Yeah he was weak but that could be tweaked.

New Freddy is just so cheap in every way, boring uninspired generic design, and cheap way too ez to use abilities that make him good at way too much, there is no making up for shortcomings, he is the whole package.

    Just to add:

Being looped? Trapper can place a trap to end it, Hag can place a trap to end it, Clown can slow you down to end it and guess what, so can freddy.

Mobility? Freddy directly teleports to the only objective you have as survivors, combine with stuff like discord and yeah, ez reaching a survivor.

Doors powered? place a trap and enjoy them alerting you if they try to open it.

And for good meassure, next to that he is a bit hard to track when not in the dream world, and in the dreamworld you have that confusing lullaby and then there is the counter to BT as well.....

Freddy just does it all, he is a trapper/hag with extremely high mobility on demand towards the 1 objective that matters for the other side. Im suprised they did not give him a ranged attack on top of it....

  • Perks really do not matter that much for a starter, its more just about learnign the game, what is in your FoV, patrolling gens, chasing and when to give up a chase, stuff like that

I guess maybe Iron Grasp or Agitation so you have a bit more time to orient yourself and find hooks and enduring so a pallet slam is less painful.

  • @Jota said:

@PatBrutal @Peanits Why can't we turn AA off in-game ? We need more graphic options please you guys need to hear us ;(. We're talking about quality of life of the game, it is important.

google it, they dont allow for us to post about "modifying the files" here, which speaks volume about the mods understanding of game design.... but yeah just google it.

You need to add some simple text rules to the engine.ini and you can turn AA off or even better, which to TAA.

  • idk man, lets just look at this objectively.

Lets say you are playing with some randos, one goes down fast and thinks it was bs and wants out.

They get hooked and start making themselves die on the hook, other survivors can see that by the aura and can then very quickly determine what they are doing so they can just keep working on gens or whatever they were doing.

Now in your scenario, the survivor would not make themselves die, a survivor comes to unhook them and what dod you think that survivor that wanted out of hte game will do? carry on playing just fine? nope, they will just throw the game entirely or just afk stand there underneath the hook waiting to die, arguable that will derail the match further for the remaining survivors.

I mean I get the problem but I dont think forcing them to stay in the match the way you suggest is a good idea or would be healthy for the game in general.

  • @Thatbrownmonster said:

Wait so let me get this straight

You were changing game code to get an advantage over other players? and now are mad that you can't anymore?

I can understand frustation against the settings but being mad you can't change things to get an advantage?

No. anti aliasing, you should look it up, is an edge jittering fix that has existed for games since the moment they went 3d, all games have this.

DBD as well but it only supports by default the crappy FXAA which resultsin a blurry detail lacking craptastic image.

The Unreal 4 engine supports howevver also TAA, which is superior and with the file you can choose to have that on, it just cleans up the image quality.

Now if the game was actually worth a damn it would also support forward rendering and with that MSAA.

  • it would ruin the game entirely, not going your way? ez leave.

That said just hide in the basement and alt tab out, gg ez

  • @snozer said:

no it isn't. survivors abused the fact that not doing anything is not taking the game in hostage back when hatch spawned after 2 gens done, many threads have been opened, trying to add particular afk crows for these kinds of situations, but were always ignored, since it isn't bannable.

onto the topic, yeah it sucks, always funny when you see the average dbd YouTuber do it, but when you face those teams...

it is though and even if not, just send in the footage, let the devs decide, but im 99% sure this is a bannable offense, either way not for us to decide.

Never said they were! I say that DS is a necessary evil these days, but that's the extent of it.

idk man, im doing zero perk runs with my friends and we do perfectly fine

  • @Animator said:

There are some players who abuse the fact that the game has unlimited time on the map. They select some dark map (the "Dead Saloon" map is in fashion now, because there are a lot of bushes there), take Claudette and begin to hide and not start the generators. Just returned from Twitch, there the streamer with his team did nothing for more than 30 minutes, hiding from the killer. No one started the generators. They have a condition: hide from the killer until he leaves the game or AFK.

I believe that collapse should be added after 20-30 minutes of such a "passive" game. Or their auras should be revealed to the killer.

Send reports? I do not think this is a way out of the situation. After you threw a report, you do not know whether such a player / players were punished or not.

It is a bannable offense, its holding the game hostage so time to report that streamer and use their own stream footage against them I guess.
