this could also work the other way though, a survivor gets nice and close so its easier to dodge the attack and have you fly across the map hitting nothing.
So you want to just go for a quick M1 instead but now you cant, I have gone for an M1 over the Shred on many occations by choice so idk if I would like this suggestion.
I feel you just need to practice more and just know when the shred is going to be a shred.

What the ######### are these? These are way too luck based. You have no way of forcing a Survivor to jump in a locker and no way to know if they are. Not every Survivor jumps in one to use DS so you can't rely on that. The EGC challenge requires to you to get lucky twice (unless you're Doctor or have Deerstalker, then you only have to get lucky once) with finding the Hatch and then finding the downed Survivor. Even throwing the game isn't always guaranteed because of bodyblocking. Also, it really ######### sucks to have to throw an entire game just for a challenge (it isn't even a master challenge).
The locker grab happens often enough to me, just keep playing and you will get it.
The other one is a bit more tricky but not impossible, have NoeD and simply start slugging like a madman at the end and hope they dont have adrenaline (or not more then maybe 1 or 2) and have deerstalker so you can find your slugs.
I dont mind these, these are ok.

Rank 9 PC EU, last night I had pretty much instand lobbies
-
idk how many times Im going to have to explain this but:
The doctor used to passively make people crazy, this was seen by survivors as something given to the killer, requiring nothing of the player.
Now its an active choice of the player when to use a blast to make people crazy.
-
The grind is too much
-
its weird right?
Like I played the PTB yesterday and some of the changes imo seem very extreme.
If perhaps some of those doors had to be kicked first a survivor would atleast have A chance to get away.
If some windows could be destroyed so they are just doors/openings, that as well would give a survivor a chance atleast one time....

"we plan to hit soon" plans can change, y'know
I imagine all the map changes & loop removals took up their time with this update meaning they had no time for perk changes, which is fair enough.
maybe next update? We'll see.

They just made huge changes to multiple maps, fixing many issues that have been persistent for ages, as well as testing work on generator times. Which would definitely take a lot more work than changing a few weak perks (even though 2 perks have been changed with this update)
to change a number from 10 to 15 and then have us test that in the ptb is not a lot of work.
To move some existing assets around is not a lot of work
Honestly, idk what to tell you if you are impressed by that....

Its time to make the PTB a standalone version.
it was time for this since the very beginning.
Sadly the devs are inept, imagine how much better PTB's could be.....its just sad.
-
who cares? does it make you feel bad or something getting accused of using exploits?
-
The devs do seem quite lazy, especially if you were to compare them to the devs of Warframe for example
-
I feel offerings should not even show like at all, remove that entire offering showing screen and go straight to loading the game instead pls
-
idk, I think he would be too human, and if they make some entity powered up version it would be a tad weird I think.

Wanna know why killers tunnel right now so often? Answer: they've had to put up with a lot of toxicity. I stated it in my OP. God loops/pallets, powerful tiles, fast gen speeds even with the toolbox nerfs, etc...All of that comes to an easy "hold M1" game unless the killer finds you. And when he/she does, they'll want to get you. The problem you mains do is that...you instantly unhook. It's called "hook humping" and it's really frowned upon. So that's why you get tunneled as of now. Not because killers are doing it massively to be malicious. Will I go after someone who just got unhooked 5 seconds after I hooked them? Yes, if I don't see the other person first. Why? Because that was too quick. You have to WAIT. Get other things done first. I play survivor quite a bit and I know enough of what I'm talking about. These changes benefit us all. Survivors don't have to rely on cheap tactics, and killers get a break. Maybe tunneling will be less of a problem.
thanks for creating a scenario in which is ok to return to the hook/tunnel....ish, thats not the scenario im talking about though so yeah....
And also, should watch the movie The Platform, excellent representation of the "do unto others what has been done unto me", sure if the game has been going for a while and the survivors are a bunch of cheap toxic mofo's, do whatever you need/want.
But this was at the very start, and they avoided the unhooker entirely in favor of the unhooked, I mean there as well, you can do whatever you want but dont come complaining aobut survivors immidiatly suiciding on a hook then later, we want to play a game, that requires a bit of teamwork even if you are playing against eachother honestly.
-
what is up with these graphics
-
Sure hope so, I hope this makes killers a bit more fun and fair and less campy/tunnely.
Just had another game where the first person unhooked got cleanly tunneled, that just immidiatly ruins the gmae for me so I just run up and die.

Please give survivors costumes as cosmetics this Halloween, they need some sweet outfits just like killers have their Halloween Collection. I just wanted to let you guys know ahead of time ;). Give us Clown David,Pirate Dweet or Witch Kate, you know some fun cosmetics.
are you talking about the blight event?
I mean they kinda have little choice in that matter because for some bizar reason they made a lot of killer skins and barely any survivor skins
Jake, Dwight, Claudette VS Trapper, Wraith, Billy, Doctor, Huntress, Nurse, Hag, Clown, Spirit and plague.
Its absolutely beyond me why they did it this way but yeah for the next one they kinda have to do a bunch of survivor ones and a few killer ones.

I think the idea before the generator change was not necessarily to slow down generators from being finished efficiently, but to help curb the cases of generators being done at the start of the game before the killer could literally walk to the other side of the map.
Last week, I had a game as Clown on Ormonds, where I went against a 4-man SWF with 4 toolboxes (commodious with BNPs and wire spools). Two generators literally got done in 25 seconds, before I could walk from one corner of the map to the other. Literally nothing I could have done. Not like I can walk from one corner of the map to the other faster.
With many of the larger maps being slated to be scaled down, as well as the less repair efficiency when together, that should hopefully prevent that from happening, though not sure it would stop commodious toolboxes with BNPs still.
The thing with your last week scenario is just a problem with how...idk fake? bhvr is regarding extra items and add ons and offerings, they just skew the game, and they are intended to do this.
It is meant to mess up the balance, it is meant to give the user an (unfair) advantage and that is fine for A match but these "very rare" or "ultra rare" items are actually super damn common, that is the problem.
(infact I dont want to go on a rant here but its pretty rediculous how twofaced this game is regarding this own identity as competative or casuel, if its casual then why for example cant we have a 21:9 aspect ratio for monitors? if its competative then why allow for these extra things that skew matches so much? ANYWAY)
Your scenario is the survivors equivalent of a Ebony Mori, personally I dont mind these too much, I just as survivor run to the killer and let myself die asap so I can move on to a game that is actually...ya know...a game, a bit more fair and balanced and thus fun and rewarding.
As killer in your case I would probably just sit in the basement and wait for them all to leave while watching a video, clearly they dont actually want to play a match so why put in the effort from your side? idk thats just my view on these things.
But to speak to your first claim, ok yes I get a gen could be done before the killer could get to the other side of the map, yes, but the killer now finds a bunch of survivors in 1 spot which could be dangerous if the killer is good.
The optimal gen rush strat of 4 survivors on 4 different gens with the killer finding one and chasing one will result much quicker in suddenly 2 or 3 gens popping which is a far worse case scenario for the killer, the killer is just 1 player, they cant be everywhere and chase everyone at the same time so yeah that is kinda the point of this thread.
Again I dont mean to say we need to adjust anything there because I feel we need to see how the current changes affect teh game, but its just something on my mind.

who cares?

idk if you really dislike legion that much, just dont play them I would say, I dont play nurse or freddy for example.

I just want them to reduce that damn 4 secs stun...
Also, complete add-ons rework. His add-ons are a disaster.
Ps: i saw countless red rank survivors self-caring in corner against legion...
a good legion can still use that stun time to zone out a survivor by body blocking an escape route, just saying, it can work really well, its not like the nurse who is practically frozen in place during the stun.
-
Legion is not nearly in as much of a bad spot as people like to make others believe, the devs have the data on that though.
Lets not forget, sure maybe legion is not as good as he should be for ACTUAL good survivors, but they are fine for the 90% that makes up the rest of the players that are being played against, hence, its not such a bit issue.
-
right? I was really suprised to see no checkmark there.
But it might just be a time issue, maybe they will change it in the future, plus with all the other changes regarding gen speed etc maybe the size is not going to be THAT much of an issue, just gotta wait and see.

You mean you’re fine with experienced rank 1 players deranking so that they get to bully inexperienced players?
Well now you are claiming all players have the same concept of "fun" which by your vision is seemingly the same as being toxic and as example myself, its not true, I dont "bully" anyone, I dont think that is fun.
A more relaxed game is more fun for all involved, less sweaty as you put it, less try hard, being able to let some stuff go, give some something.
Same for killer, look at Otz for example, he often feels he needs to kill someone even though he knows he kinda unfortunately stumbled on this same person way too often so he knows they are not having a good time, he says he is sorry but he still kills them because "he cant afford" letting them live because of how the game is going, and he does not want to completely get owned.
On a more relaxed game you can choose to at most slug the survivor and just go for others, maybe even letting a few go, that is a lot more fun for both you and the other players involved.
-
But uhh what starts with a Y that is related to dbd....

True but if you’re not giving people the incentive to stay at the rank they belong, they will simply try to derank and have some fun rather than staying in rank 1 with all those sweaty people.
ok? and what is hte problem with that? I would assume you/they want people to have fun
-
copy paste from other thread:
Ermm I think you are missing the point of rank or ranking up, its not some achievement, its just there to match up people of equal skill with eachother for the most fair/balanced matches.
Granted it does not work hence they are reworking it, but that is the entire point.
-
ok well 1. pretty sure the rift is mostly a done deal already, not a whole lot of the team needs to be involved with that anymore that has anything to say about bugs that need to be fixed.
2 you dont have to do the rift
3 yes the grind is way too high, that needs to be reduced, its honestly just insulting how much time the devs dare ask of their playerbase
-
I like them both thb, both have satisfying moments.
Currently only my bubba is "done", clown is nowhere near done (not even P1 yet) so right now Bubba is more fun to me

Ever since the last couple of updates and the sabatour perk has changed and it is ridiculous how the hooks regenerate REALLY FAST BY 10SEC .. my opinion you guys should bgg ave kept that perk the same as it always been...please fix and change this please
Welcome to the forums.
The hooks now regenerate after 30 seconds, unless destroyed by Breakdown.
Sabotaging is meant to prevent a killer from hooking a survivor, its like taking a hit for them, but its not meant to have a lasting impact during the match.
Personally its not worth even trying and having seen the matches since the update, other survivors share that opinion
-
Nurse rewards dedication, its a long road to become a good nurse but once you are, its your winning ticket to recover from the many crappy matches you can have with other killers
-
idk why you even care, killer mori's? ok, run up and die either on the hook or by mori asap and move on to the next match.
-
I dont think there are any plans for that, but it would be immensely nice to have ESPECIALLY for the Switch version.
Being able to play on your PC normally and then just continue away from home on your Switch, that would be nice
-
Boring is that there isnt any actual game to be played, no fun/fair challenge, rather you will just lose and waste your time.
Forever Freddy is really one of the few that fits this discription though

And clearly you missed my point, the developers have said that type of behavior is not bannable, or an exploit, so doing it does not betray the rules of the game. You can make a subjective claim it's not in the "spirit" of the game and you would have an argument, but I could argue that bringing a 4 man SWF is not in the "spirit" of the game either and survivors would just claim I need to "pressure gens more bro". The point is caring what other players who are your adversaries in a game think is just not that important.
Subjectivity of killer and survivor actions goes both ways. It's also often entirely situational. Will I return to the hook? If I'm close enough and not in a chase? Yes because that was a failure on the survivors parts for being too altruistic and part of being a smart killer is punishing mistakes. Do I go for the unhooked player to tunnel? Usually not but I'm not above slugging them if it's convenient, and forcing someone else to come pick them up.
I guess I missed your point because its not relevant to the discussion at all?
Nobody is talking about thinks being allowed or in the rules of the game, I was merely and purely talking about how people perceive you.
As OP asked
"Why wouldn't you tunnel him/her? Is it your problem if the other survivor decided to stealth? Should you pretend you didn't see the unhooked guy?
If you can give me reasonable answers, I appreciate it."
Well because it will be viewed by many as cheap and unfun and they will judge you for it but you can do whatever you want, same as you having the ability to not help the old granny across the street, there is no law against it and hey it means you dont have to spend/waste time/energy doing that but again people will judge you for it.
But as you said yourself: caring what other players who are your adversaries in a game think is just not that important.
Well that is fine, that is your opinion, but I was answering OP who was asking for opinions views, yours is different from mine, that is fine, but dont try to debate it as you cant be right or wrong in this.
-

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1192722#Comment_1192722
You're conflating subjective judgement with objective law, and they are two very different things.
Almost every state and municipality has a litter law, meaning it's actually illegal to throw garbage on the street. It's not an opinion on that behavior, it's been codified by legislative bodies that this type of behavior is unacceptable.
By that same logic, the developers have said that camping and tunneling is in fact not bannable behavior, nor is it an exploit, though it is frowned upon. This is not a codified law by any legislative body, and even the private proprietors of the game do not ban the practice. "Frowned upon" is a judgement by other people but is subjective. One man's camp is another man's strategic reaction to survivors being too altruistic.
Your analogy and logic are flawed.
not really, they were discribing someone as an "shole" which is entirely an opinion. Something being against the law is fact, nothing to do with opinion.
But fine lets leave the littering out and lets stick to the old lady across the street analogy or hell forget even that, it does not matter, the point should be more then clear by now.

1st of all, people's judgement isn't what you are. 2nd, throwing garbage on the streets makes you an shole, playing the game as it is intended to be played, don't. survivors complain too much about situations they/their teamates put themselves on. and I'm talking from a main solo survivor pov.
Well there you go, you are making excuses for the behavior already.
Throwing garbage on the street does not make you an "shole", its your opinion on that behavior and probably the general opinion but still just an opinion, a view of someone else on that person and it does and does not define them, depends on how you look at it.
Kinda coming back to your first claim "people's judgement isn't what you are" sooo yeah, they are not an "shole", you just have that opinion of them.
Same goes for your behavior in a game, you can do whatever you like, people will judge you based on that but if that has no influence on you then well fine, go forward with what you want to do.

It matters because if I can tell NOBODY is coming for me, I'm not wasting my time waiting. I'm dying on hook and moving on or trying to Kobe.
It would literally make the SWF vs solo gap wider . SWF couldnt "see" everything, but since when did Hex:The Third Seal or Knockout stop SWF from performing optimally? Callouts before you go down or get hooked, even if just a general location, is helpful.
Not being able to know if I'm wasting my own time or being used as escape bait is a horrid idea.
yeah because thats what we want, you just ending it and not helping the team by being a constant point of interest for the killer while you are still on that hook....I mean you get struggle points anyway.
It would be fine for solo games, and good at bringing SWF and Solo together.
-
yeah because that movie is worth remembering.....

I usually run Distressing, Beast of Prey and BBQ perks.
this would work for me if the BP made any sense to me.
im often just completely at a loss how the points came to be

TLDR: point is, there is no set definition of "winning" for this game, you can do whatever you like.
I have been doing a lot of killer games where I specifically did not hurt survivors, I threw bottles, stalked them, hit them with the harpoon but immediatly broke the chain, everything without hurting them and its quite fun to see how survivors react.
Usually they just do 2 or 3 gens before they start looking around to see what is up and gen progress sometimes suddenly goes really slowly after that :P
But yeah, indeed if you want to farm bloodpoints, legion all the way, if you want to guaranthee a single kill, basement bubba, etc etc whatever you want
