  • As killer a Cenobite from Hellraiser because they are creepy af and would fit the game, Ellen Ripley as survivor because she's though and she's THE survivor, and for the map I'd love the hotel from Shining, snowy labirynth included.

  • I would love an old Laurie skin too

  • Hands down Myers. I just love how he brings the movie's feeling into the game, and playing as him is simply fun.

  • 12 meters, although it might not seem much, is an enormous distance during a chase because the speed at which killers close the distance (in a straight line not counting the lunge) is only 0.6 m/s, so they would take 20 seconds to reach the survivor. Just for comparison, Sprint Burst gives survivors an advantage of 4.2 meters over 3 seconds and the killer can close that distance in 7 seconds for a total of 10 s.
Your suggestion would be a Dead Hard on (a lot of) steroids, simply broken.

  • Once I used it to stay near the hatch to grab the unsuspecting survivor while he jumped into it.

More NOED-like hexes means survivors will cleanse all dull totems way more often, so it would be likely to not see the perk in action very often.

You mean survivors would have to stop doing generators for a little bit and hunt down dull totems that might not even get activated? Why is this bad?

Have you ever played with NOED just for it to not activate at all because all dull totems were cleansed? This scenario would happen a lot more frequently, and personally I feel making new perks that could be used only once in a while would be a waste. Not counting all the times the totems gets cleansed less than 30 seconds after it activates.
In any case, I don't think cleansing totems slows down the game by a noticeable amount.

They don't want to let on how low the percentages actually are.

That's because in some cases numbers are misleading. Most people when reading "+2% skillcheck chance" would think it's ridiculous low and don't even consider using it, while it actually translates in a 25% increase of the base skillcheck chance for gens.

  • More NOED-like hexes means survivors will cleanse all dull totems way more often, so it would be likely to not see the perk in action very often.

  • Gen tapping sucks for survivors, it's very slow and they miss a lot of BP from skillchecks and coop.

  • If you hate the game and the devs so much, what are you even here?

  • Yes please. I stopped using Lithe because it was really unreliable because of the chase mechanic.

  • For the Trapper the Tar Bottle. I never see people using it, but I love how traps become basically invisible in some spots.
The Glowing Concoction for the Huntress, too, is an addon I never see being used, but it's definetly one my favorite on her.

  • Balanced Landing is the best one imo because it doesn't rely on the chase mechanic like Lithe and is not much affected by lag as DH and Lithe. In some maps it's not very useful, but they are a minority and with a bit of luck you can still do sick plays with the basement stairs.

I'm just wondering why a considerable ammount of killers (way more than usual) I encounter during the event go out of their way to make the experience as unfun as possible.

Maybe you should ask them how many times they waited 20 minutes to play a match where everyone uses every mean possible to deny them special hooks, from multiple DS and flashlights to suicides, not counting eventual toxicity/bm, making them loose any interest to be friendly just to risk being treated like ######### again.

  • Crows currently feel a bit underwhelming and don't feel like a menacing presence to survivors as they should. Any plan to "buff" the Entity's servants?
Side question: we'll we ever see other "woodland creatures" (Maurice doesn't count)?

  • One match yesterday survivors used all the new offering and then gen rushed super hard while I was "taking it easy since they have a 2nd objective to do" (yes, stupid me) and they escaped with not more than 12k.

  • I think a nice buff to it would be to make that it makes sparkles from damaged gens to not disappear

  • I'm going to be "that guy" and point out that the Wraith is covered just in some bandages and a short cloak. Should they put pants on him?

  • @Nickenzie said:
    Hex (Ruin):
You have a Hex that causes fatigue in one's ability to escape. All survivors suffer a 15/20/25% decrease in repair speed with great success zones being removed from the repair action. Once cleansed, all generators that have progression to them will instantly lose 5/10/15% of its total progression.

Basically, Ruin (Tier 3) will add 20 seconds to every generator and can possibly add more time when it's cleansed.

25% speed penalty means a 33% increase in time, so about 27 seconds.

  • In my experience Jake. Maybe because people start playing him with a stealthy/immersed mindset...

  • Yeah at this point they should start a no-leak policy...

No the point is to get a cool skin. You're not special just because you played in a certain period of the year.

Of course you want to get a skin to look / feel special. That's the whole point. Why get a skin that is not special? You want to show it to other players / want other players to see it, like legacy. Would they sell legacy? Hell no, because it's special. That's also why most of the players don't buy the standard skins (which just change cloth color, etc.) because it has no value to it.

I feel like it's better that they are available forever. I also find it strange that the only reason you want them is because they're special. Surely you'd want them because, you know, you like the look of them.

As a killer, you don't even see your own skin in-game (besides weapon). Why would you get it? To see it in the game menu? Cmon... Of course you want other people to see that you got a special skin because you want to set yourself apart from all the other players which just run the standard skins.
If you just buy a killer skin because it is 'nice', what's the point? Everyone can do it. Special skins, not everyone has them.

I'll never understand this logic. I grinded for the Wax Warlord skin because I think it makes the Wraith a lot cooler and when I start a match/when I see part of the body during animations I can admire it. I highly doubt anyone would think I'm special because of some digital stuff. If you want to feel special achieve something real in life, this is just a game.

Feel special in real life? ######### are you talking about xD I play DBD because of the horror scenarios and the brutality + somewhat strategic gameplay. If I had that IRL I would not play DBD, as everyone else.
You also just admired a digital skin, completely throwing you whole argument under the table.

Admiring =/= feeling special. And the "real life" things wasn't about the gameplay obviously.

For weeks you guys hyped up this event, leading us to believe we could unlock all these cool skins as a token of YOUR appreciation for us, the fans.

No. We did this to ourself. All they did was teasing the event.

  • Honestly I don't see a reason to make a fuss. We built our expectations high through leaks and speculation, so it's all on us the delusion for not being able to grind all the skins. The skins are very high quality (surely higher than previous cosmetics rewards), it's natural they can't give them all for free.
I think being able to buy them with shards would be nice (since with the rare skin costs, it would be grindy af anyway), but still I think they are managing the event way better then other games I play, in which you can't get anything without paying or the rewards are mostly stuff already in the game plus a couple uninteresting new things.

  • Nice! I like how detailed it is.

  • I don't know the time but it's quite fast (about 1 second I think) so hitting someone while they scream is very possible, especially if you consider the shock has travel time.

I main survivor, but I don't want only survivors to benefit from it, I want killers to be able to benefit just as much from this. You definitely have more killer experience than I do, what do you think would be more beneficial to killers?

Honestly I think pallet looping can't be really "fixed", it's just a part of the game. It can only be made more tolerable with map adjustments as devs are doing. Pallet looping wouldn't even be a problem if gens weren't popping all around the place.

Yeah, I don't really understand how gen rushing is seen as being any different than camping by killers. Survivors don't like camping because it prevents them from being able to 'have fun' but gen rushing has the same effect on the killer that camping does on the survivor. Maybe they should increase the number of skill checks survivors get when they aren't around other survivors.

That would make experienced survivors repair even faster thanks to great skillchecks.

Fog Whisperer's are mostly professional streamers that play dozens of hours weekly. They'll probably never get banned because they play so many matches they will never reach the threshold for the ban. It's not a matter of double standards, just of numbers.

When you derank by DCing in order to keep at a certain rank area, it doesnt matter how much you play. For each game you paly you and pip, you will have to derank again.

DCing makes you loose 3 pips iirc. You just need to DC once every 3-4 matches to be under the ban threshold and not advance in rank.

  • I think Bubba would be a lot better if they gave him 100% speed while revving the chainsaw (just like the Hillbilly), so he doesn't actually loose ground while doing it. Currently it's harder to dodge the HB who rev at close range than LF, which is kind of absurd.

  • I think it's time to rework Insidious to make it useful outside of camping the basement.

  • Nah, that on a Doctor with Distressing in small maps would be overkill for most survivors, unless you make that the effect doesn't stack, but in that case it would make the Doctor slightly less unique.

  • The Wraith is the killer that I fear more when playing survivor, no joke. It's also my absolute favourite to play as.

Besides when talking about Mirrors, there is still one which bothers me the most right now. Vanity Mirror. In it's current state you trait EWIII and movement speed for a 16m Wallhack and a higher bloodpoint gain. And that's a little bit too much.
16m isn't realy much. It helps tracking survivors, but it's barely usefull for an ambush. It's more like helping you not to lose your prey, if it hides midchase. So I personally would suggest to get rid of the movement speed penalty.
That would make Vanity Mirror Myers turn into a more reliable build worth playing from time to time.

I agree. Currently the Scratched Mirror is better since it's almost the same but trades the lunge for a way better aura reading.
Other than that, Myers addon are among to best (and fun) ones since they change how the killer plays and as survivor you never know what you should expect from Michael.

  • How would that solve anything? Pallet looping would be even more encouraged since killers would take longer to close the distance and pallets and windows would be way less useful with the increased breaking/vaulting speed. I aslo bet a lot of infinites would pop out in many maps.

  • People most of the time DC because they are pussies, and that can't be fixed by devs.

  • It's not an exploit, as devs themselves have said.

  • Yeah I'm not a fan of rank reset too, the first days after it are quite obnoxious for various reasons. I suggest you to wait a couple days, so that people settle to their ranks, before jumping again into the fray.

  • The music is there to cover sounds. Have you ever had the bug which disables the music when spectating a survivor? You can pinpoint the killer's position from their breath. Currently Myers and the Pig can be "spotted" from a distance thanks to that.
A perk like Stridor would have low use if you could hear survivors crystal clear, and jukes/stealth (which every killer that hates looping asks survivors to do) would be useless in many occasions. A couple times I got found because the killer heard me move grass or the very slight noise I did while slow vaulting... imagine if that was much more common.
The point is that the music is too tied with the balance of gameplay because sound is a very powerful tool for both sides.

  • @Aftertaste said:
When I see someone tunneling or experiencing that I just want to leave match and I want to play anymore...

You could instead try to use the occasion to get better at chases.

  • Some killers are easily butthurt. When doing flashlight saves or saboing hooks you should be prepared to accept this could happen because soon or later it will.

  • Talking about entitled crybabies...

Is also possible that they "said it wrong".
That said there are a lot of asylum that kept the old style uniform for long times, so sally can easly be from 1920-30 wich is near WW2 time
that will make her younger than the huntress. Not a lot, but surely younger

    This seems a reasonable theory

  • I bet it's because the invulnerability lasts for the whole duration of the unhook animation which can be canceled instantly, so survivors gain control wa before the invincibility ends

The Nurse is from WWII, the Huntress is from WWI. That's what the devs said in yesterday's stream.

How many nurses did you see in the last century dressed like this?
    This picture is dated 1898.

At this point I wonder if the skin from the Bloodtained Sack should be considered the original one.

Yep, people can actually disagree with other people and still do the same thing you know. Completely disregarding his claim to playing killer because he doesn't have the same opinion as you is honestly stupid.

I am not "disregarding" his claim that he plays killer, I am just not "believing" it.
Those memes can't come from someone seriously playing killer at red ranks.
Even the top killer admit that these memes are stupid.
Only fake killer come to bring up garbage like that.

I have 2k hours and play regularly killer at rank 1. Still I think DS is just a nuisance that doesn't deserve all the attention it gets ,SC is not that big of a deal, especially since it's gonna get nerfed soon, and pallet looping is a problem only as a consequence of the speed at which gens are done and the density of pallets (which is quite random, and will change next patch, btw)

And people who bring the argument "but 4 DS..." how many times do you really see 4 DS? Or even 3 or 2?
