You can set it to private. Many people do. I often try to send friendly messages and hit walls.

The messages aren't even the crazy part. You can send VC requests to strangers, so a killer could can send a survivor in the lobby a VC request before the match. You can also send voice messages instead of written ones.

I would say the private part should be the default still those others yeah another reason why I avoid consoles.

  • I am surprised that some random people can't just send you a message on Xbox? Like I would not want to use a platform that has a messaging system that lets some randoms just contact you without your approval. Like even in Steam you have to first do friend request to be able to message someone if they don't let you write on their profile.

Claiming pig is weaker than Skull Merchant is wild

I would agree that Pig is stronger but not by that much. Even with the current state of Skull Merchant she is not really that much worse. You have basically the same ability as Pig by recalling a drone and if you learn how to use her drones well getting claw traps on survivors can be quite strong. Still she is quite weak currently but would not go to say that she is that much weaker than Pig is.

I have got several 4k's with Skull Merchant recently even in her weak state and I am not even that good of using her drones to get the claw traps on survivors.

  • Before the penalties happened I would say about 20% of matches at least one surivor dc'd on either the first down or first hook. The ammount of people who got hooked first who were using Deliverance was quite common and seemed to be the only real reason why they disconnected at least for my matches.

DC penalties are needed as it was really annoying to queue in the match and be basically 1v3 after first down like every fifth match. People disconnected for the most petty reasons and it was also quite common of people doing the "I don't feel like playing anymore so I disconnect and go do something else" in the middle of the match. People kept doing that quite much even after the penalties were added as they started right after the DC so they could just ignore the penalty as they were not going to play anyway. Now as it starts when you next time press ready to queue into new match they at least need to do that before to not get the match making ban next time.

  • I never gave the hatch because survivor did not struggle I decided that before I even picked up. I have given hatch even after they added the abandoning feature and have to admit some others might have got it too but they like to abandon before that so their problem not mine. Another reason why the 10 second grace timer before the abandoning comes available could be useful but I am just shouting in the wind with that one.

yes, the devs arent survivour nor killer sided, they just dont test their game. If they did, we wouldnt see food carts spawn so close to tables, or all gens so close to each other that its really hard to do even 1 of them. I mean Badham and Crotus Prenn.

Well still as nobody has mentioned this just thought to bring it to the attention of people. The cart being that close does not really make it that fast to fill it will be about the same speed if the cart would be about 3-5 meters futher away. Reason is that same survivor can't take a plate from the same cart right after they took one already. There is small downtime timer but have to admit it could be way more than it currently is but there is one.

  • Isn't this like one of the basic things you learn as killer player? I don't know how it would not be.

  • Killer ban system should never exist as would be just abused by preventing the top killers and causing anyone who playes them to have longer queues. It would not be healthy for the game

I like the map offereings to give better changes of to get the map never liked the idea of changing them to be ban the map in question as don't like that kind of features in games anyway.

If I paid money of something I want to be able to use it.

  • It literally states when you hover over it how it behaves. It priorities perks first, then it goes from middle circle cheapest first. So in short if there is no perks it will start from the middle taking common rarity first and goes up rarity until it takes all and repeats it on the next circle.

It is not coded to go for higher tier items if you want to those pick them out first manually and then use it to clear the bloodweb if you don't care about the rest.

I would not be against chosing the priority though.

  • His M2 attack is a double damage hit. It has nothing to with exposed it just deals double damage.

I no longer expect anything from BHVR, and recently I have not been playing DBD at all, not just the event.

I was originally planning to collect cakes during the event, but with the terrible drop rate and how awful the event mode is, I have completely lost the motivation to do even that.

Some people are saying that BHVR is currently collecting feedback and will reflect it in future updates, but personally, I do not think that will happen. This is not limited to the 10th anniversary event. There have been many issues and criticisms regarding various events in the past, but they were never properly improved. In some cases, things have even become worse than in previous events.

Right now, Jason has just been released, so I do think the player count has increased. However, judging from the attached chart, it is clear that many players are leaving soon after, likely due to the poor game balance and other issues.

The number of players does increase during peak hours, but the overall player count is declining, and it is currently recording the lowest number of players within the past week.

Some people claim that comments on the forums, X, and Reddit only represent a small portion of the community. However, as you can see, the numbers that BHVR loves so much clearly show that players are leaving because of the terrible game balance and event content.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/K1U4E28WRJLA/image.png

There is no significant drop anywhere there. Its literally going back to the normal after the anniversary weekend as people of course had more time to play during the weekend. It has not even gone under the lowest point before the weekend. In fact there is still 10k more people playing on the lowest point than before the event.

  • I would say poison the table if you can and have extra poison. It will cause them to lose one plate if they try to place it down so it does slow them down and it will also slow down the person trying to fill the table as they get poisoned too.

  • He does what makes him most views and puts up a show. He might not like it but he clearly is doing what he usually does be loud and rant.

I think it's bugged because I had a couple of games where I didn't see this blue mark that people were talking about and then I had one that did. I did a survivor match earlier with my friend and we had the blue mark on us the entire time - even when we were not invisible.

Its a bug seems to happen if you are eating the plate while using a portal or getting hit. Not 100% sure if those are the reasons but its been reported several times already in the bug reports. Haven't experienced it myself so far.

Small correction: it is not really 53 standard survivors unless you are counting special cases/variants too.

But even if we say the number is high, that does not really defeat the idea. It just means it would need to be introduced carefully.

They would not need to give every survivor a massive killer-style power overnight. It could start small, or start with original survivors first if licenses are an issue. The point is not “give all survivors game-breaking abilities.” The point is to make survivors feel less like interchangeable skins.

Balance is a fair concern, but balance being difficult is not the same as the idea being bad. Killers, perks, items, add-ons, maps, and survivor perks are already hard to balance, yet the game still uses them because they add identity and variety.

So I still think small character-themed abilities could work if they were treated as minor identity tools, not full killer powers.

You need to go count them if you don't believe me this game has 53 playable survivors no skins these are survivors with perks.

If you start adding some of them bonuses people are going to play those more because they have bonuses. You either have to add them to all or none at all as it will just make certain survivors more viable to play because in the end why you play someone who does not have a buff when you could play someone who has one.

I have played more killer in the event than survivor but since I don't agree with your opinion I clearly don't play any killer, how typical.

Survivors get way more I agree and killers should have gotten more to interact with and the whole cake fiasco is dumb. However, you don't need to hit the survivor with the poison, just throw it at the pallet they are trying to use and they are forced to either run through it or try to make another resource. Even if you want to throw it right at them I have not found it hard to aim or hit with at all (are you on controller?). Its a single hit sure but you start the match with four poison bottles and get more on a timer.

I agree that the insta-heal is incredibly strong but the time setting it up is someone off gens (its certainly worth the short amount of time but it is still time off gens). Unless it gets used at the correct times (again someone off gens) it doesn't even do much. There are multiple killers that straight hard counter it like plague or any insta-down killer (particularly deadly with the poison) and if the survivor gets picked back up by it you can just hit them again, unless you were planning to hard slug them you are probably still nearby.

The speed, invuln, and invis last literal moments and if it lets them reach something you can drop chase and go somewhere else unless whatever they reached still leaves them in a bad position. The survivors will also only have access to a single one of those in any given trial not all three. The invis makes a noise and the survivor still moves grass, I went against this ability as ghostface and the survivors would try and go invis whenever I marked them and guess what I still downed them because I could tell where they were. The unbreakable pallets is silly but only useful on certain pallets and against certain killers.

Altogether, I think that makes the mode mildly survivor sided and you are just refusing to adapt to what the mode is throwing at you. So maybe for you it really is wildly survivor sided, for me it isn't.

I feel like most people don't even know you can hold the button down and get the aim arch and get more distance to the throw. You can literally chuck that thing a long distance too even if you most likely have not reason to do that really. You can even use it to cut the survivor off by throwing on the pallet they are running to.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4094783#Comment_4094783

That same logic can already be applied to killers though.

If “only the strongest would be played” was enough reason to avoid character identity, then killers should not have unique powers either. People would just pick the strongest killer, the strongest perks, the strongest add-ons, or the strongest items.

But the solution is not to remove identity. The solution is to balance it properly.

I am not saying Meg should become impossible to catch, or Claudette should heal like a med-kit factory, or Bill should literally fight the killer. I mean small, character-themed abilities or items that add personality without becoming mandatory.

The tunneling argument only really becomes a problem if the abilities are too strong or too obvious in value. That is a balance issue, not a reason to keep survivors feeling like skins with shared perks.
Killers already prove that unique character gameplay can exist. I just think survivors could use a smaller version of that same idea.

It would also add another layer to balance and even currently the game is hard to balance. There is 53 survivors trying to invent some special power for all of them would be a huge thing to add and then also get to balance. Still this could also run into a wall with the licensed characters as some licenses might not let Behavior even do these kind of changes. There has been rumors that some licenses are not the easiest to deal with even currently.

  • I think the main point was that the table takes the place of the main building gen usually.

  • Only change I want on the abandoning options is about 5-10 second timer before they come available when requirements are met. I don't think we need more of them.

  • Maybe perks but never base.

  • This has been suggested many times main arguments against it is that only the strongest of them would be played and it would hurt the variety of survivors. It can also cause more tunneling as killer would take out those that they see beneficial to them to take out. Thats why perks are better as you don't know what everyone is running so killer can't decide to take out the gen jockey and ignore the chase build or at least until they chase the chase build guy.

I got a game or two like that as killer. I had survivors that didn't understand the event. But when you get survivors that do - they will abuse it. Happy for you that you're enjoying it.

Yeah there is some matches where they do but still quite often they over extend with the powers and end up gen or two short.

I know what it means. I'm saying it only takes a minute or two to get into killer in event mode. It takes 8 minutes to get into non-event game as killer. Which means more killers are trying to play the non-event version. Right now survivors don't understand how this event works but once they do (and I'm getting into more games like that as survivor) killers are DCing because of how unbalanced it is. Just had it happen twice in a row with my friend.

Or not as can also mean there is more survivors in the event mode than in the normal. We don't know how many killer players are playing either mode or how many survivors. It could literally be even on killers but its faster on event because there is more survivor players.

Funny thing I just played two matches in both I ran over the survivor team in the start felt so bad I let them fix the gens and farm because its an event I don't see point to play a round where I end it from the start. I have had no reason to DC in this event don't really ever do it anyway as I play this game for fun and would not play the event mode if I would not enjoy it. Its at least different from the normal mode that I can play anytime.

  • @jayoshi said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4094728#Comment_4094728

You can't say it's doing well only because there is a small wait for killer games. It's about a minute or two wait. That's a small wait. Non-event it's about 8 minutes to get into a game as killer. I assume killers are doing their events and when they are done with them, will stop playing the event. That's what I did. So will be interesting to see what killer wait times will be middle of the week before the next challenges drop. Plus it's the weekend.

Once again people don't get what wait times really mean. Killers waiting means there is not enough survivor players. I would not mind insta matches as killer later but don't think that will happen.

  • Its not real problem I get 4k's about the same ratio I get normally. Survivors quite often play around the plates too much and forget to finish the gens. So even if they get heals and other buffs as they don't get the gens done they end up losing in the end. Still there is those that play well and do the gens and escape too.

Still if its a fun event not really Bloodmoon was more fun.

  • Don't eat the food when using the portal the same time. That is most likely the reason why it happens and its been reported several times in bug reports.

The self pity is strong with this one.

Opinions can be wrong. Opinions can be spiteful and malicious.

If I say that minimum wage should be lowered to a dollar, that's an opinion. But it's also spiteful and malicious.

My opinion is that you're being petty and small minded, and by the looks of it, I'm not the only one.

If everyone is telling you you're acting in an awful, miserable way when it benefits you not at all aside from making everyone around you a bit worse off - including yourself - maybe, just maybe, you're the problem.

Perhaps a little bit of self reflection is in order?

My opinion is not wrong and you have no point proved it to be. My opinion is not also hurting anyone unless they themselves take it as such. Wiser person would just ignore it and keep doing what they want but in the end that is not the case it seems.

question once you get hit with it, is the removing action automatic or you can hold it as a "hostage" similiar to springtrap"s axe… except that springtrap can recall it.?

Yeah its the same as the axe you can hold it on you as long as you want but as I said Jason sees the spike aura the whole time inside 28 meter range if you are not removing it. With that its like artist crows she sees their aura if you are not repelling them from yourself.

  • @Filipino1490 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4094322#Comment_4094322

thing is that once you (as a survivor) get hit by the hook spike, you become hindered right at the moment when you get hit and until you remove it (or he downs you)

Like sorry but you are mistaken like I ask you go watch any gameplay on survivor point of view against Jason and find a point where full healthy survivor gets hit by his spike the only status effect it gives rightaway is broken as it prevents healing when in the survivor. Still the hinderance status effect does not come into play until they start removing the hook spike. I am not trying to be anyway confrontational here I am just trying to make you realize that you are not correct in your statement. I am not sure if you mean the broken status effect and are mistaking that to Hindered status effect?

  • I do agree on your points its a downgrade of The Twisted Masquerade. Killer side its way more boring and as you said on survivor side its tenious.

Another problem is the fact that the food trays can spawn really close to the table so it can take really little time to get the table full. Still most of the time survivors seem to forget to do the objectives and waste too much time on setting the table when they would get more value of just holding a plate and eating it when needed.

  • Can we get an update how its going?

  • @Condealx said:

this event is “so survivor sided” that I never saw a Jason losing a match with no more that 1-2 gens done . Every single match 4k

  • @Filipino1490 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4094285#Comment_4094285

no what i mean is once they start running after the hit they get hindered until removing the hook spike which means that it isn"t once you start removing it but it is right when you get impaled so you will be hindered as long as you are impaled (running with it). Cause if you hit them with a normal spike (not a hook one) they just get injured

Like I am sorry but you are mistaken. They don't get hindered until they start removing the spike the benefit the killer gets from the spike being in the survivors is the aura read on the spike itself. The hindering effect only starts when survivor starts removing it and the killer loses the aura of the spike when they start removing it too. So the survivor has to weight the benefits to remove the spike and get slowed down or give the killer the aura information.

Most people don't seem to know this so they start removing the spike right away so they get slowed down. That might be the reason why you think they get it straight away after getting impaled.

You're entitled to an opinion, even if it's one that works directly against your interests. Do you realize YOU would benefit from the Cake changes being made, similar to prior years, right? The reason we're upset with you and other people preaching this view is that instead of saying, "I see no need to increase cake spawns, I'm content with what I have," you are choosing to call us GREEDY for wanting something that was consistent across 8-9 years of Anniversary Events. Is it starting to make sense now? Also, adorable that you're doing the "woe is me, I am a silenced victim" routine over defending Cakes being nerfed lmao

I have said several times I have no problem of the ammount I get. I even get why it was changed. I am not here to get personal gain just stating my opinion of the matter. Yeah I call it greed as its literally demanding something because you think you are entitled to it. Don't take that last one personally but can't really say it any other way.

ohh ok my bad but still they are hindered even if they are not removing it (it has to be a hook spike only) sorry for the arguments

Could you explain like what you mean by the hindered in this case as by data survivor will not slowdown at all even if they are impaled by the hook spike. Still if they start removing it their speed drops to 0.9x so they are 10% slower while doing the extraction.

I just want to understand what you are trying to say like if you mean them getting pushed by the spike or what?

ohh you mean that. but isn"t that the point? since other range killers also slowdown similarly to jason, but the hindered is from the moment that they get impaled by a hook spike and not when starting removing

You are now confusing the view point we are talking about survivor slowdown not the killers. Survivor does not get hindered until they start removing the hook.

i can see where are you coming from but the fact that he is still punished by camping that his jumpscare 3X longer which already gives them enough time but i understand. I just hope that springtrap gets buffed just like with the change that i said.

He can out of decent distanse away and get there fast with the speed boost and even throw from distance so he really don't need it to be that easy.

  • I posted this in another thread of how I would change him to make him not grind the game to a halt

He most definetely should not to see survivors doing objectives while in OE.

Still I would also lower or even remove his haste after appearing he does not really even need it. He has ranged attack he does not need the speed as he is not just a M1 killer.

I would also give him a timer not sure of the time limit but if he stays in OE over that timer he will lose all information he could gain from it normally. This would be there to make camping harder and make him come out of power more and not just sit in it most of the time. The time limit would be something quite long like 30-60 seconds.

These would be the three nerfs I would do to his base power and with these he still would be totally fine and not really even that much weaker just better for gameplay wise so matches don't grind to a halt everytime he is in power.

  • It only takes into account of how fast you got killed out of the match. If you don't do it intentionally or often its just a warning nothing will happen of it. Its there to those that would do that intentionally to get around the DC penalty.
