Curious as to what you thought about last year's event with Remote Hooking/Pallet Break + Expose.
Did you also advocate for this to be removed as well?Nice what about argument. Two broken game plays do not equal a healthy game. That was an issue back then and this one is an issue now. You know what we should have? A healthy game with balance events. Maybe focus on arguing for that.

You can hear invis survivors if that helps. I track them by my ######### ears.
That's cool and all but some killers have really loud chase music and it makes it impossible to hear. I play with headphones and I can't hear them. What about people who play this game who are deaf? Screw them, right. They shouldn't be allowed to play /s. What about people who don't play with headphones? So the counter is buying physical hardware.
I play survivor more than I play killer and I have had so many killers DC because my friends were on top of using cakes to instant heal and allow the special power to happen. It's hard to defend this event. -

Curious if you advocated for this too when the events have been historically killer sided?
I have. I play both killer and survivor. I had issues with killer event mechanics like remote hook and breaking pallet without kicking it. Just because one side was OP during one event doesn't make it okay that it's now OP only for the other side. If they kept the stuff for killer in the last events and had this for survivor, it wouldn't be that bad. The fact that BHVR likes to alienate one side of their community constantly is the issue. It causes more of a toxic community with "us vs them".
We are all just gamers that enjoy this game. We should want what is best for everyone, not just one group of players.
Even though my dbd stats show I play survivor more - this game mode is a huge problem. I have had so many killers DC because my friends and I are on the cakes going back and forth with the main table. Sometimes the dining carts are right next to a dining table. After not being able to break pallets, losing survivors to invisibility, being able to avoid poison bottles, having on demand sprint burst, being able to rebuild pallets, and healing a survivor the killer is chasing… why would they continue to play? It's horrible as killer.
I did killers to get my challenges done and I haven't played since. It was awful.

maybe there will be some in bugfix 2 this tuesday, if it is this tuesday
They are not going to. I think they should. But they won't. It's also crazy that the carts of food do not go away and respond somewhere else. I was playing survivor and a cart was between to dining tables. Someone spent the whole game going back and forth making sure the table was full. Survivors would be fully healed and whatever crazy OP effect would happen. The three of us were doing gens or running from killer getting instant heals until the killer DC

Once you notice the tells, invisibility is fine to work around. It also only lasts very briefly, so most tend to hide nearby instead of run off. When you know the general area they're in, they're easy to find.
I think it's bugged because I had a couple of games where I didn't see this blue mark that people were talking about and then I had one that did. I did a survivor match earlier with my friend and we had the blue mark on us the entire time - even when we were not invisible.

Or not as can also mean there is more survivors in the event mode than in the normal. We don't know how many killer players are playing either mode or how many survivors. It could literally be even on killers but its faster on event because there is more survivor players.
Funny thing I just played two matches in both I ran over the survivor team in the start felt so bad I let them fix the gens and farm because its an event I don't see point to play a round where I end it from the start. I have had no reason to DC in this event don't really ever do it anyway as I play this game for fun and would not play the event mode if I would not enjoy it. Its at least different from the normal mode that I can play anytime.
I got a game or two like that as killer. I had survivors that didn't understand the event. But when you get survivors that do - they will abuse it. Happy for you that you're enjoying it.

Once again people don't get what wait times really mean. Killers waiting means there is not enough survivor players. I would not mind insta matches as killer later but don't think that will happen.
I know what it means. I'm saying it only takes a minute or two to get into killer in event mode. It takes 8 minutes to get into non-event game as killer. Which means more killers are trying to play the non-event version. Right now survivors don't understand how this event works but once they do (and I'm getting into more games like that as survivor) killers are DCing because of how unbalanced it is. Just had it happen twice in a row with my friend.

It’s a pretty limited game event, and the game is doing extremely well. The forums, Reddit, and other places make up only a small portion of the player base, and most people are probably enjoying it, to be honest. I don’t really see them putting much effort into it right now. Nothing will likely change until next year, but at least the normal mode is still available to play.
You can't say it's doing well only because there is a small wait for killer games. It's about a minute or two wait. That's a small wait. Non-event it's about 8 minutes to get into a game as killer. I assume killers are doing their events and when they are done with them, will stop playing the event. That's what I did. So will be interesting to see what killer wait times will be middle of the week before the next challenges drop. Plus it's the weekend.

I'm pretty disappointed with all of this too, honestly. But I feel like we're just beating a dead horse at this point if it's impossible for them to make changes now.
They could make changes. Tweak numbers. Limit how many times you can go invisible. Scale back the survivor power ups. They just won't do it. But they could.

invisibility makes a constant ringing noise directionally and the grass moves AND it leaves blue splashes.
The real issue with this event is the map spawns, they learnt NOTHING from the blood moonI never noticed that. They were just gone. Like they even did the invisibly in front of me and I didn't notice a sound or blue splashes. I'll have to pay attention when the next killer challenges come out.
I just don't get why they gave survivors a bunch of new mechanics they can do and took away all killer mechanics from the previous event and just gave them a clown bottle. I wouldn't mind all this extra stuff they gave survivor if killers could remote hook, remote break pallets, etc like in previous versions. -
This event just shows that they clearly need to start doing PTB for event modes.
-
They need to get rid of that and being invisible. It sucks because now I can't do the killer challenges unless I farm. I just got done with a game where survivors were able to turn invisible and you just lose them. As someone who has been playing since 2019 and was very excited for this huge milestone - I'm extremely disappointed. I say this as someone who legit plays both sides.
Once I get my challenges done, I just go back to normal and deal with the long wait time if I want to play killer. I would love to play the event as killer and have fun - but yeah… that's not happening. -
@Anniehere said:
I agree with her. Putting the unfairness of the event aside, I don't really get all the fuss. It's a limited time event that no one is forced to play. They just failed to deliver on the fun of the concept they had in mind, and I don't think the constant harsh criticism since the event dropped serves much purpose anymore. They'll take the feedback, hopefully learn from it and do better in the future. We can move on. It's all good.
That's fine and all but when they have limited cosmetics/banners/badges tied to it - you're missing out on the fun unless you main survivor. I was very excited about the 10 year event because it's this huge milestone. To see it extremely one-sided is very disappointing.
-
Dead hard is at a perfect spot. Also it's fun trying to wait out someone's dead hard. I always assume everyone has it and wait it out.

@100PercentBPMain said:
oh well, we need something to deal with 4x escapist class.
you guys complained about legion so killers need something else.
Both can be true. On demand sprint burst is a problem AND having 4 zombies to patrol gens and give away locations is a problem. They should both be updated IMO.
-
It's not 90 percent of games like this person is saying, they are being hyperbolic. I will say though I have noticed a big increase in cheaters when I play a lot. It seems to be about one or two a week when I would put in a lot of hours. Before when I would play a lot, maybe 3 years ago, it was like one or two every 6 months. It's becoming more common and I can see it feeling like it's every game. I have played a lot less because of cheaters. In fact this past week it says I have played for 5 hours. That's very low for me but plus side, I didn't get a single cheater lol so I guess there is that.
-
Changing your POV slider in the settings will do this as well. If the POV is further out, it feels like you're moving faster and if your POV is zoomed it, it feels like you're going super slow. Maybe their POV changed? As for me, I haven't noticed or felt like I was going slower when playing as killer.

for the 60/40 thats not me looking at it. It's how the devs have portrayed it.
It's not. They haven't portrayed it that way at all. That's why it's called kill rate and not win rate. Same with saying escape rate for survivors, not win rate. In any 1v4 game, one side needs to get 3 or more of the objective done in order for it to be a win. In this case the objective is for survivors to escape as a whole and killers to sacrifice survivors to the entity as a whole.
-

For the record, you said that it is not killer sided. But according to your stats alone, you have almost equal bps earned even though you have 300 hours more as survivor than as killer. Hmm. Less time as killer and yet you have earned as much bp as the other. You have disproven yourself with your own stats. And let's not ignore that the devs constantly say that killers are supposed to win 60 to 40? They agree its one sided.
That is not how it works with BP. As killer you get more BP on average because you are in the game from start to finish. I have a lot of survivor games where I'm in it for not very long because I got tunneled. Or I had a game where I only did gens and didn't do much else and got low BP.
Plus a lot of people have been complaining and suggesting that survivors need a BP rework because you don't get that much with them.
As for 60/40 - you're looking at one survivor as a whole team. There are 4 survivors in a team that are playing towards the same goal. The goal is to get out and to help your team to get out as well. It's not saying a team of 4 survivors should get 40 percent of wins - it's saying you as a player should get 40 percent of escapes. Even if you died in the game and the three other survivors won - that means your team won. It means you won as well, even though you died. So I mean technically you could die in every game that you played and if the killer only killed you and no one else, then you won every game.

I don't play with Sprint Burst, I literally say earlier I understand why people don't like it
And people can have fun as killer, I play Huntress a lot in 2v8 or Dracula and have no issue. No on in their right mind would play Solo Trapper in 2v8, which I see too many streamers do then complain.I play as trapper in solo queue 2v8. The key is placing traps randomly on the map. Always works because no one expects it. Also fun to have an on demand sprint burst run into one of your random traps during chase. Plus I get to be naked guy from AOT. He’s a good counter to spring burst that’s not high mobility - not great, but not bad.

This is the issue. The them vs us. Which I only care about my side. If you were actually looking at facts. Then this game is BEYOND killer sided. But there is NO REAL discourse here. It's one side say their opinion and if enough agree then it's fact. NONE OF WHICH BHVR cares about because they keep doing what they do. I would love to do a one for one on it.
I’ve been playing this game since 2019. I have the hours to prove I’m not a one sided killer (I’ll upload a screenshot of my stats that shows my username). This game is not Killer sided. It’s not even survivor sided. It’s based on your skills and how well you mind game.
However there are some perks that don’t require any skill at all. This includes on-demand sprint burst. I will and have before admitted that it’s the one class I always use as survivor because of how strong it is (like how I would pick legion as killer) but when I’m killer, it’s very frustrated and broken. Even though I use it all the time as survivor I can also see how it’s a problem and needs to be reworked in 2v8. As someone who mainly played legion in 2v8, I can see and agree he should have been removed because he was frustrating to go against as survivor.
It still baffles me that this is still thing because I have seen a lot of people complain about how unfun it is as killer like how legion was unfun for survivors. It needs to go. -

The problem is more that Legions Power just does not work with 2v8. Legions Power is built around getting fast injuries, but having to be a M1-Killer to get downs (aside from the rare occasions where you get 5 Frenzy Hits). But if you add another Killer who then gets to down the Survivors who got injured by an easy first Hit does not work.
They honestly should have never added Legion in 2v8 in the first place.
So there is no problem with ghostface using his power and exposing someone only for them to run away and instead of using a vault or a pallet, they just press a button and get on demand sprint burst for free once he is about to get a down. Meanwhile you just wasted your power because someone pressed "F". It's very frustrating and not fun. Just like being injured by a legion then to be downed by their partner.
-
legion wasn’t fun to go against as survivor so you removed it. On demand sprint burst is not fun for killer - when is that getting removed?

Then the problem is the wording. If it wasn't a bug for it to not appear and was instead intended, you didn't "fix an issue" you reinstated an element that had been intentionally removed. Just saying "Reinstated RBT to Pig's in-lobby visuals" would have been better. It's just a semantics issue but that does indeed cause confusion. You could have spun it as fan service instead, for a more positive reaction.
that’s because it was a bug and now that they are being called out by someone who kept reporting it in the past, it’s now “bringing back a fan favorite feature”
-
I think we are getting gaslit more. Why can’t they just admit that they realized she should have been holding it and didn’t think this was a top priority to fix. I would be more satisfied with that answer.
-
You have to wait until the survivor is fully picked up, but as you have seen, pressing M1 will cancel it. It cancels power struggle too. I don't know why but it's been like that for a long time. I"m sure this bug will be labeled as a "feature" soon by the developers. "Oh uuuuh yeah, we meant for that as a counter play"
-
They will do nothing about it. That's the conclusion I have come to.
They need to hardware ban or turn off cross play for Epic Games since that's where they supply the free accounts for people who buy hacks. It's awful and sad that people waste money to cheat
-
BHVR is not going to do anything about it if you report them. I know because I have been getting a lot of cheaters and reporting them and sending video evidence where it's very obvious. I still haven't gotten a single in game message saying my report was looked at and taken care of. I don't know if they don't care or if they are too overwhelmed they can't do anything about it. Both are bad.
They really need to do a hardware ban. Fortnite does it and they also use Easy Anti-Cheat so it can be done. But will they? I highly doubt it. It's now just part of the game. So you either put up with it or stop playing. I've been playing a lot less because of it. -
I love going against a Nurse. Trying to predict what she's going to do with her blinks and doing a counter-play to it is so much fun. Then having the player know how you play so then switching it up again to counter what they think I will do. I love it. Another reason why I love going against Bubba too. A lot of mind game at loops and trying to time the pallet stun during his sweep. I would much rather have a fun mind game chase than sitting on a gen waiting to press spacebar.

you're not the only one, I got called a cheater and I was using Eruption, people often forget that Aura's are part of that perk, same as Undying.
The past few months I seem to get at least one cheater a week. I"m not talking about "hmmm it seemed like they cheated". I"m talking about survivors picking themselves up right away over and over. Going from injured to healthy in one second. Doing inf. pallet stun on me where I'm stuck getting stunned over and over and over again on the same pallet. Or being in a survivor match where I see one of my teammates barely touch a gen for two seconds and it gets completed. Every week. I mean I see less of it now because I have played a lot less lately because of cheaters.
Last couple of years it would be one cheater every couple of months. Late 2010s to about 2022, it was super rare. Maybe one or two cheaters a match that whole time. It keeps getting worse and worse and I don't know what BHVR plans on doing about it. I have reported in game and then sent in my recording of it happening to support and I haven't gotten a single in game notification pop up saying my report was reviewed and action was taken.
Are there just too many cheaters and not enough people at BHVR support or is it a losing battle because people just get a new account to cheat with. The anti-cheat really needs an overhaul. I'm not a programmer but there has to be a way that the game can tell someone is using a cheat. -
I have had hackers in my game and I have filled out reports and sent in video proof. It was so obvious they were hacking, like getting up right away or doing inf pallet stun on me where I can't move. I haven't gotten a single in game message saying that my report was reviewed and taken care of. I think they gave up. Which gives me the message that BHVR doesn't care if someone is cheating in their game - which sucks because it has gotten so bad. It use to be a game here and there per year. Now it's every week I get at least one cheater in my match.
But on the plus side because I have been playing a lot less, the amount of hackers I see has gone down. So I guess that's one solution. Just stop playing…
-
I just want an option on the main screen that says "clear all notifications" and it clears everything. Messages, store, challenges… everything.
-
With the number of knives needed to down someone being reduced to now 6 again, he doesn't need the added speed.
-
Killers will say this game is survivor sided. Survivors will say this game is killer sided. Maybe look at how you and your team is playing and what perks you're bringing. I don't mean to be rude and say "skill issue" but it could just be that. I use to think the same years ago when I first started playing. I only did survivor games at the time. But once I started watching videos about game tips and played killer and learned what good survivors do to loop me - I got a lot better. Some games I get destroyed and some games killers only get one or two hooks in total. Nerfing is not the answer because that's not fair to killers that go against high skilled survivors.
Plenty of videos online that will help you learn about good looping setups. -
@WalterBlack said:
Just stop playing by made up rules and enjoy the game in your own way. Don't let anyone tell you what you can and can't do.
A thousand times this. The survivors shouldn't have to worry about your fun and you shouldn't have to worry about theirs. Play the game how it's allowed. Don't let anyone guilt you or try to gaslight by saying you must have deep rooted issues for playing a certain way. It's a video game. It's not personal and it's not serious.
You wanna tunnel? Do it. You wanna slug? Do it. You want to spread out hooks? Do it. You want to farm? Do it. If survivors want to tea bag and bring perks and items to gen rush or bully the killer - they can do that too. It's all just a game. It's all fair. If they or you are not having fun - they/you can give up or just play something else.
I'm so sick of how whiny this community is about how a certain player plays a video game. -
Filling up a blood generator is a lot faster than working a normal gen. There should and usually are gas pumps near one. If you could easily run back and forth without any penalty, then the gens will get done too fast. I mean they even get completed faster even with running. This update is not killer sided but it is the most killer sweat game mode. With gens getting done so quickly normally, killers will start to tunnel and soft camp right from the start instead of waiting to see if survivors are organized and "gen rushing". It was like this last year and the year before. It's going to be like that this year too. Luckily you have the option to not play this mode if you don't find it enjoyable.
-
Yeah, they seem to be having server issues. Been like this for about 10 minutes. Hopefully it comes back up soon.
Edit: as soon as I hit enter it seems to be back up again lol
edit 2: never mind, it's down again.

I’m ok with survivor being high because we need more incentive for people to pick survivor, not less. Killer queue times are still extremely long so honestly there should probably be even more buffs to the survivor side.
It's honestly not as long. I have waited many times and it takes about 13 minutes even though it says estimate is 23 minutes. After playing survivor "as you wait" and going back to killer, it will say 8 minutes and I get into a killer match in less than 30 seconds.
-
Looks like killer is where it needs to be but survivor is way too high. I'm very curious what the stats are for the game as a whole because I'm average at best for survivor but more pro with Huntress. I will say on demand sprint burst is too strong and needs to be changed. Rebuilding pallets is really strong too. I think that needs a longer cool down, IMO or a rework. I pick escapist the most because it's easy mode and honestly the reason why I have escaped so often, as you can see. And being able to bring pallets back. Pallets are a very strong tool for survivors and I don't know if BHVR sees them that way…
-

Probably the removal of the gamemode, given the complete destruction of 1v4 while it's active.
Honestly, I'm cool with this. I use to be so excited for 2v8 and wanted it to be perm. Now I don't want to play it. Takes forever to get in a normal game now. It's the most survivor sided update that it's frustrating and not fun playing as killer. On demand sprint burst and a flashlight class is broken in this mode. Three people being able to heal and gens going off left and right. Queue times have been quicker when my friend wants to play.
It says 24 minutes but we get into a game in about 12 minutes (I set a stopwatch each time. It's always around 12 minutes). I don't know if less people are playing killer or what but it did take 25 plus minutes last 2v8.
And there have been times where it says 8 mins left and we get in right away after doing an easy survivor round.
You guys ruined it, now I just want 2v8 gone and that legit makes me sad. Excited for Trickster map, tho! -

Hope is the only thing I can have right now.
-
Yeah, I only play 2v8 now because it's the only fun way to play without overly sweat lords. Feels way more casual. Not anymore. The last one was more survivor sided and I still played it even when it was frustrating at times as killer. I figured they would balance it more. Nope, they went the extreme to survivor sided. I will be testing it out on the PTB, but on paper, this sounds awful as killer. If this is just as bad as it sounds and it goes live - I guess I'll 100 percent be done with DBD.
Which is sad since I've been playing since 2019 and have spent so much by unlocking every character and having so many outfits. Might just have to cut my losses and move on from this game if they also kill 2v8 for me.
But I'm glad they are doing this as a PTB instead of just making it live without testing like the other 2v8 updates. So we will see. I just hope they don't mess this up.

It's inherently fluctuating for anyone not at (or well established in, since you can technically fall out of) the softcap. And besides, it's still a bad idea to tie core, game-changing mechanics to something as dubious (and again, hidden) as MMR. Imagine if a game like chess saw your available moves with each piece increase as you rose in ELO…it just doesn't make sense. At that point what are you even learning at lower ELO when the game could transform so fundamentally as you got better? A game should change naturally (and be adjusted for everyone the same way, in the case of live service videogames) based on players' (and devs') understanding of the game, not be changed directly & arbitrarily for one subset of the playerbase that the game detects is of higher skill.
I'd like to see you actually defend your idea (or explain your principles that led to that idea, assuming you've developed any) instead of assuming my emotional integrity is compromised & assuming I'm totally ignorant of how the MMR system works. Especially when you self-admit (and I might add, in a bold, dismissive way) that you were ignorant of BHVR's statement regarding what they have planned for Trapper. To me, it just seems like you want to deflect any responsibility away from yourself despite you being the one who created the thread in the first place.
Dude, I'm not reading all that. It's DBD forum and it's a suggestion for a killer update. ~*(suggestion)*~ It's not that serious to write two paragraphs about it.
-
As a PC player, you do not want access to the chat at the end. In fact I think they should get rid of it on there. Luckily you can turn it off, so that's what I do. Too many toxic people tell you to harm yourself or call you racist/homophobic things. Or they try and gaslight you as they cope about losing. Console players are blessed.

when your simple suggestion is "make it so that mechanics are locked behind a hidden, inherently fluctuating MMR system", the hyperbole is 100% warranted
It's not inherently fluctuating when they have confirmed that there are locked MMRs in place. That once you reach a certain MMR, you can't go lower than that. So yeah, learn how MMR works before freaking out over a suggestion.
