A Survivor's perspective: Why the Banquet is a downgrade from Masquerade

Hi BHVR Team,

As a dedicated Survivor main who has been through anniversaries, I wanted to share my feedback on the Black Banquet Event. While I appreciate the attempt to introduce a new theme for the 10th anniversary, the event unfortunately feels incredibly uninspired and repetitive compared to previous years.

Here are the main points from my perspective:

The Gameplay Loop is Boring: Even though the event is heavily Survivor-sided, being on the stronger side doesn't automatically make it fun. The gameplay loop of simply placing four plates on tables for passive, overpowered buffs gets old very quickly. It feels like a chore rather than an interactive, dynamic event. The Twisted Masquerade was miles ahead in terms of fun, risk-reward mechanics, and active engagement during a match.

Event Items Lack Love and Detail:

The abundance of event items in the Bloodweb is great, but they completely lack that special "Anniversary feeling." The old Masquerade flashlights, med-kits, and toolboxes were amazing because they sprayed confetti and made party sounds when used. The Banquet items are just simple visual reskins. There are no special sound effects or visual rewards when using them, which feels incredibly lazy and lackluster for such a massive 10-year milestone.

The aesthetic of the event is cool, but the gameplay and item design feel soulless and repetitive. I really hope future events lean back into what made the Masquerade so iconic: genuine, chaotic fun and attention to the little details that make items feel unique.

Thank you for listening to the community.

  • I do agree on your points its a downgrade of The Twisted Masquerade. Killer side its way more boring and as you said on survivor side its tenious.

Another problem is the fact that the food trays can spawn really close to the table so it can take really little time to get the table full. Still most of the time survivors seem to forget to do the objectives and waste too much time on setting the table when they would get more value of just holding a plate and eating it when needed.
