  • Cool, so I do the right thing by usually going AFK as killer if there's a dc. Good to know, though I don't get why survivors take 20+ minutes to do gens in those matches, would've been way quicker for all of them to DC and take the penalty.

  • All my killers except Dredge are already P3.Those 111 anniversary cakes on Nemmy = good luck, I'm never using those.

  • Most people don't know the specifics of the rules because they're not made clear anywhere easy to find, and trying to search for valid information on bannable hostage situations within DbD can be a big pain in the ass. I've participated in a bunch of those threads, which is why I can quickly bring up those responses.

Can you show me where that exact infraction is explored? I never encountered that despite keeping up with those topics. Hence, making this topic.

Both of these mod posts in the same thread address it:

Sorry no, the killer (as it's been a long time) is technically holding the game hostage as they've not allowed that survivor to participate in the game.

This is definitely reportable, please video it and send to support https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us as well as make a report in the end game chat.

    @Gay Myers (Luzi) said:

The thread has run it's course - the killer decided to bodyblock a survivor in a corner and giving them no option to leave. It was the killers choice, they are the one griefing. This is not the right thread to make a it a survivor versus killer thing. The killer is breaking the rules - they're completely denying one player of the game to play the game at all. Even if it wasn't for 30 minutes like it is in this case. For those saying all survivors need to be bodyblocked for it to count: This is false. One is enough, like in this case.

Whether or not their friends ran around or not - the killer had all the time in the world to start moving and chasing them. Ultimately, the killer made the choice to stand around and bodyblock a survivor in the corner. They could have moved, but didn't.

    And also this mod post:

    @Gay Myers (Luzi) said:

For clarification: If the Nurse has held the person hostage all game in that corner, it'd possibly count as holding a person hostage and griefing them. If EGC was turned on, then it would not count as such, because the game has a specific amount of time left before it ends automatically.

But if it wasn't during EGC, then it's a different story and of course depends on when it started happening and the length of it. If it was JUST before EGC started - not much to report about, but if it was for the whole game, then yes, that's denying a player to play the game by holding them hostage in a corner.

Please report them in the game and send additional evidence to support: https://support.deadbydaylight.com

And a lot of Killer perks do play well together though.

Pop Goes the Weasel + Call of Brine.

Pain Resonance + Dead Man's Switch.

Hell, even PR+PGTW+CoB+Corrupt works well together.

OP just doesn't like Survivor second chance perks. That's fine, I don't either. However, their logic is very flawed.

    I make no comment on OP's stance/argument.

I'll share my own stance, though (it's probably pretty standard and boring, but whatever, I'm already here): The problem with perks on both sides goes deep. I don't like a lot of second chance perks and the way they can be used together. I also don't like a lot of killer perks, most gen perks and the ones that slow down survivor actions. Those kinds of survivor and killer perks wildly throw off the game's balance, making for a frustrating experience whether you're going up against them or feeling forced to use them.

I hope BHVR makes the game better and not worse when they start adjusting the meta perks. Though, I'm worried about their plans for BBQ.

  • @Pulsar said:

You can't kick a gen that's already regressing.

I didn't know this was something controversial.

It's the same reason why you can't use PGTW multiple times on the same gen while it's regressing.

OP can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they're saying they want to be able to kick an already regressing generator. I think they're saying that second-chance survivor perks shouldn't stack, and they're making a point that there's precedent for it because a lot of killer perks don't play well together.

Dang. Sorry if I sounded cocky, I didn't meant to be mean. Yeah, I can now see it, even though most people just go for highest gamma correction, a slider is (should) be the easiest thing to implement and help people like you to adjust their settings.

Sorry, I probably came across more aggressive than I meant to. 😅 My tone gets negative quickly when I talk about the experience on console and especially Switch, but that's all directed at DbD, not you.

even though most people just go for highest gamma correction, a slider is (should) be the easiest thing to implement and help people like you to adjust their settings.

Yeah, and like the slider shouldn't take the screen from high-beams white to void black. The difference between far left and far right on the spectrum doesn't need to be huge. It's a simple thing that a lot of games have. Unfortunately, this topic has been brought up many times before, and I don't think any mod or dev has ever acknowledged it. The new addition of Nightfall should make consistency more important than ever, so maybe something will change, but it seems unlikely. We got Trickster but still no dead zone settings for controllers. Nightfall with no gamma calibration is par for the course.

  • @Akumakaji said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2991574#Comment_2991574

But you know how people 80% of the time handle those sliders in single player horror games? Move it aaaaall the way to the side, so that they can see better in the dark. Now take a guess what people do in a competitive, asymetric 4v1 game, if given the opportunity?

I will leave it to your imagination, but I guess that it would be less then 2% of players who will miss such an advantage, just for a tiny bit of immersion.

I don't have to use my imagination. The people who want to adjust the colors for an unfair advantage are already doing that without an in-game slider. People use filters on their PC. And while people can mess with the brightness outside the game, there is no way to calibrate the settings to be what BHVR intended them to be. I can mess with my screen settings forever, but I'll never know if it looks how it should because there's nothing in the game to give me any hint about it. There's no Pantone chart to purchase to help calibrate my screen for Dead by Daylight. With no calibration assistant in the game, players aren't having a consistent experience. That's bad when the game is balanced around using darkness to hide and reveal specific amounts of visual information.

And I'm really, really tired of not being able to see anything on the Switch in handheld mode. With no brightness/gamma slider in the game, the only thing that can be done is increasing the screen's backlight, and that causes eye strain and a huge ass headache within a few minutes. Even when I'm playing in a pitch black room, on most any map I get stuck on walls because I have no idea that there's a wall there.

  • I played a lot of Dredge games the past couple days, always running this perk. I generally don't kill survivors, so I should be getting the lowest of the low MMRs.

I saw someone vault over a pallet and break it once.

  • A lot of games have a brightness/gamma slider with a little picture and the instructions to adjust the brightness until the picture is just barely visible. DbD needs that. I've played the game on PS4 and Switch on the same TV and the brightness/contrast is different despite it being the same screen with the same settings. A slider like that in DbD would help players on all platforms have the same experience. Right now, there's nothing to help players experience the game the way it's designed to be, the way it's balanced around.

  • @DeadByCommunity said:

It's literally called a "skill check" althou no real skill in it that's the only thing that can make survivors suffer a "mistake" giving the killer a edge. Increase the size is like saying reduce the map size for killers like nurse because she is too hard. Either don't use the perk, try to time it better or just get better hardware. Not a attack on anyone just saying that would literally be a buff to a strong perk an even with "counter play" like slug, unbreakable is a thing along side the unbreka-boon. An ds is a issue since alot of people, from casuals, comp an even some fav streamers hate how it's used. I hate it but no one can deny it's use for anti tunnel althou people try to abuse it outside that such as end game collapse ds being a free escape

Being unable to use DS just makes solo queue more miserable than it already is. I bring BT, but my random teammates don't and I have no control over that. They farm me off the hook, I die. Or they rush to save someone else who got hooked, get there before I do, and then that person who got unhooked dies. The majority of my matches become a 3v1 at 5 gens. I usually despise playing survivor but occasionally I need to do it to complete challenges and earn BP. Not having DS as an option sucks. And having random teammates who die without wasting even 30 seconds of the killer's time because they don't have DS or can't hit the skill check also sucks.

That skill check doesn't hinder the survivors who waste 10 minutes of the killer's time and then use DS as a weapon. That tiny skill check is like old Ruin, the way hitting great skill checks was impossible for new survivors who didn't need to be slowed down in the first place. DS's skill check is a relic from when it existed to punish the killer for winning the chase.

DS is the only thing that slows down hardcore tunneling or being farmed off the hook. That tiny "skill check" isn't really about skill, it's about the game running smooth as butter. The game's lack of optimization, the way it often runs poorly even on good hardware, isn't a skill issue. Unlike annoying exhaustion perks and Boil Over, DS can only be used once per match and it has a hell of a lot of conditions attached to it.

As a killer I hate that some survivors try to use DS like a weapon, but I hate it even more that as a survivor I can't use it to not get farmed or tunneled out. There are options for getting around it as a killer, but there are no options that replace DS as a survivor.

Edited to add: DS should have either a larger skill check or use a quick time event. I also think it shouldn't activate if the killer pulls you out of a locker, and making it so that you're exhausted while DS is active wouldn't be a terrible idea, either.

  • @BastardKing said:

"I know some people who don't use DS because they just can't hit the skill check, it's too hard for them."

*Take the zero counterplay perk and make it absolutely skill less so I can win while drunk.*

DS has counterplay. DS deactivates if the survivor does anything to help the game progress. DS only lasts for 60 seconds after being unhooked. The killer can slug to wait it out.

The skill check is too small to hit on Nintendo Switch. I wish I could un-unlock the teachable because it's literally a wasted perk slot if I equip it. I have to just deal with getting tunneled out and completely screwing my team over every time, but I'm solo queue so my early death is everyone else's problem but mine, really.

I don't run DS on PS4, either, because jitteriness, frame drops, and input lag mean I miss it over 80% of the time there, too. DS clutters up my Bloodwebs and between the two platforms it has wasted so much BP it's rage-inducing.

DS was too strong before without the conditions on it. Now it has conditions. It doesn't need the skill check, too. DS can only be used once per match and only under very specific circumstances. There's no reason to lock out such a large group of players from being able to ever use this perk.

  • I think it's just so that the way points are earned is split up. BP is earned through certain things, emblem points are earned through certain things, and there's some overlap. You earn no BP or emblem points simply for time spent in a match, so XP is rewarded for that instead and emblems give a slight bonus but being good at the game isn't required to get a large amount of XP. It makes a kind of sense, especially with Rift Fragments being rewarded for XP. If someone's not great at the game and struggles to complete challenges, requiring them to be great at the game to earn XP to get Rift Fragments would just be cruel.

(If a large amount of XP was rewarded as an emblem bonus, BHVR would have to re-balance the way Rift Fragments are rewarded or risk people finishing the Rift too quickly.)

  • By sheer luck I teleported to a locker someone was locking yesterday and grabbed him. I had no idea he was there or that it would automatically capture him. It was a hilarious moment. I must've shocked the hell out of him.

Using a custom match I checked out what it's like to be in Nightfall on a corn map. Holy hell, being in the middle of a cornfield with everything black is actually like something out of a horror movie.

    B? Damn people B generous 🤣

Seriously though I cant even play nemesis and not have my zombies stuck constantly for no reason lol

One of my zombies got stuck on a generator today. Completely stuck, wasn't at all interested in nearby survivors, didn't alert me when they got back on the gen. They weren't even on the opposite side of the zombie, they were smack dab next to him practically touching.

Yeah, Nemesis OP, plz nerf. 🙄

  • It's not toxic. But if the killer is just going around kicking gens and isn't bothering you otherwise, it's really rude to pop it in his face rather than letting him get one more kick in. I've seen survivors who think they're really cute doing this. Dunno why, the killer wasn't really slowing us down, and all it does it cost everyone a chance at making points and pipping 'cause the killer's gonna go AFK after that, thanks a lot.

  • If that only happens against The Dredge, then that's actually kinda amusing. If Maurice is permanently gone no matter who the killer is, then that is sooooo not okay.

  • I'm having this issue too. Running the game on PS4 Pro. Everything is updated, but the game shows the old cut scene and gives an Initialization Error.

  • Your crouchers do gens? Wow. Nice.

I'm sick of the survivors who hide in bushes and refuse to get near any kind of objective being the ones to escape. I've seen an annoying number of survivors escape with 7k BP. Over 5k of that is from escaping! How do you earn less than 2k during an entire match?!

Escape is rewarded way, way too highly. Having all four categories capped at 8k BP is great for symmetry but it sucks in practice. BHVR should cap Survival at like 2k, let survivors earn about 2k for escaping. Raise the caps for Altruism and Boldness. If someone sacrifices their win to help someone else at the end of the match, that person should be rewarded with points and higher MMR. Encourage getting out of that bush, encourage teamwork.

    And also fix matchmaking.

Yeah but now people will let you die on hook instead of losing their ds

DS comes into play automatically if the killer outright tunnels. If the killer doesn't tunnel, then the survivor has to choose between being an absolutely useless sack so they can get a chance at stabbing the killer, or being useful to their team. If they choose to be a useless sack, then they're a bad teammate.

Playing solo survivor, I'm often left on the hook to die for no good reason, no DS or anything at stake. Some teammates just suck. The theoretical pro of bad survivors with DS being more likely to farm a teammate off the hook is outweighed by the con of the killer stuck in the no-win situation of being punished whether they go after the unhooker or the unhooked. Getting stabbed by an unhooker with DS was more common than now being left to die because of DS.

  • @thenegativone said:

I just think you should be able to unhook someone without losing your ds, otherwise its fine

That was one of the worst things about previous DS. Too many times, four survivors left, one on a hook and one with active DS, and the one with active DS would get healed and go for the unhook because the killer couldn't stop them. Just thinking about it brings up that horrible feeling of I'm-about-to-quit-this-game-forever frustration. The killer is hooking multiple people in this situation, wanting to keep DS while making hook saves basically punishes the killer for not slugging everyone instead. Those days were not fun.

That's the ideal scenario if lore was rewritten to be more breathtaking. I was suggesting minor miniscule tiny detail just to fix it a little and give food for thought. Just want her to be a killer.

Now, if we keep lore as it is, we could easily move her to survivor roster, and no one feel the difference lorewise.

I have lorewise questions for so called "killers" like Adiris or Charlotte (they not that bad lorewise, but still not worth to be bothered by Entity), but Carmina should be definetely saved. Just suggesting.

    P.S.

As I mentioned before, I also think Legion is a terrible concept (lore-wise, not mechanicaly), but they are way past of point-of-no-return.

A lot of killers are defined by a super-tragic past. The Entity grabs them because it sees someone it can manipulate and, if need be, the Entity tortures them into killing for it. I don't know who all specifically the Entity had to torture or trick into killing. I know Trapper was one of the ones it tortured. I think Adiris was tricked into believing the Entity is her god, iirc.

I hate Legion's backstory. Edgy teens who killed one person. Woo. Would've been better if it started with them somehow accidentally killing one person (a car accident, a prank gone wrong, whatever), and then Frank goes darker and darker and wants to kill again and between peer pressure and the way teenage delinquency is contagious, the four of them together murder a few people. A group of four teenagers who seem normal on the outside but become twisted on the inside, and the town blames the disappearances/murders on devil music and kids dressed in all black because those were the common scapegoats. It's not groundbreaking or anything, but it's an example of what could've been done, and I prefer something like that to the trite story we ended up with. The Tome entries with Julie only made it worse. I dunno, to me them drinking and partying and stealing stop signs doesn't give them depth as characters; it makes them boring. Their reason for doing what they do is basically a combination of feeling misunderstood and of being bored. That's not engaging. It'd be better if they awoke a darkness inside or if killing were a way to relieve the stress and pressure placed on them by overbearing perfection-expecting parents or some such thing.

  • On PS4, I have all but two killers prestiged. Twins is at P2 lvl 39, Hag is at regular level 50. I had the majority of my killers P3'd before the announcement (only Nurse, Hillbilly, Huntress, Hag, and Twins hadn't been prestiged), but after the announcement I've been working to get the remaining ones to P3 lvl 1 so that all teachable killer perks will be unlocked on all killers automatically.

For survivors, a lot of the ones who aren't prestiged have event items and offerings on them, and I don't want to lose those, so I'm leaving them be. The survivors I have prestiged are Kate, David, Meg, Bill, Ash, Steve, Nancy, Jill, Leon, Mikaela, Yui, Yun Jin, Feng Min, and Cheryl.

On Switch, I only have one killer prestiged, Spirit, and I have way fewer survivors prestiged: Kate, Jill, Leon, Cheryl, Mikaela... maybe a few others, I don't remember who.

They are some similarities, but overall her story just isn't good and DBD keeps adding female killers with overly tragic backstories. It's over done specifically in this game.

Huntress, Nurse, Plague, Spirit, Artist, Hag, and the Twins all have these horrifyingly tragic backstories, but women can have more diverse entries into the entity's world than being a victim of violence or essentially just taken/tricked by the entity.

There is something to be said when least tragic figures are Amanda from Saw and maybe Huntress.

If we can't get female killers that are just as cool as Trickster then I don't know at this point then I don't know what to tell you. Loss and victimization is only one route, but women are capable of maniacal evil without any of that as a catalyst same as any eldritch horror or male murderer. You can even tell some interesting stories for a female killer when you position them as someone who has always been in control and powerful.

With the Artist her story doesn't even make sense in some places.

Why does the entity specifically want her?

Why would a businessman hire an artist whose made a show of being very anti-capitalist?

Why did the entity feel the need to turn the Artist basically into bird?

Now granted the entity is supposed to be an esoteric existence that doesn't necessarily make sense to the human mind. That said, I find it low key infuriating that an Artist concept was squandered on a killer who was completely robbed of their agency and potentially never really had any agency to begin with considering it seems like her entire life was engineered by the entity to keep her going through tragic losses for its amusement. It's not her story at that point, it's the entity's. This could have been an exciting and colorful killer yet this is what we got. A killer who was robbed of her voice, her color, her agency, and ultimately her chance to be exciting. The best thing about her is the map and honestly if you deleted Artist and told me the map was a made for Plague or Pinhead I'd almost believe you be cause simply put, it's just what the entity wanted to give her rather than something meaning for Artist herself.

I will say again, it isn't good.

Heh, I was actually writing up a response about there being too many tragic females and wanting a sadistic female killer like Trickster.

I agree with a lot of what you said.

The Artist is either a poorly written love letter to Candyman, or she was a prototype for Candyman but BHVR couldn't get the license so they changed bits and pieces to make her different. Unfortunately, they butchered the emotional depth of Candyman's backstory; I feel nothing when reading hers. But what OP wants, just tacking on "she felt immense satisfaction killing everyone," wouldn't improve her story at all. It needs more than that. It either needs to create an emotional connection with the reader, or BHVR needs to scrap the "born victim" part and have her be something more like a sadistic serial killer, murdering and painting with the blood of corrupt politicians. Have some fun with it instead of trying (and failing) to manipulate people's emotions.

Artist's backstory as a victim could be fine if it were better written. There's nothing inherently wrong with it the way OP is suggesting. Glancing at her lore, I'm reminded how much I hate the way the majority of lore is written. Full of unnecessary, clunky details and attempts at style, long yet lacking the characterization or depth to make it interesting. I'd prefer lore that's like a couple sentences long to what we get now.

  • @EvilSerje said:

It thing Artist is great by concept, but her story and motivation as a KILLER is terrible. She's just some victim, not a killer.

While no one is paying attention, can I suggest to add some points to the lore, like when she's tied to a chair and crows kills every one, SHE FELT IMMENSE satisfaction and gone on a killing spree, murdering everyone in her wake, until fog embraced her. At least something like that, so she could be felt as a killer, not a survivor.

Her story is about one step removed from Candyman. He was also a victim, an artist killed by an angry mob whose hand was cut off, and after he was brutally murdered he too became a killer. It's a standard horror trope also see in folklore. For example, Japanese onryo, who are often traumatized wronged women who kill as ghosts.

  • I use the Auric Cell charm because it makes the hook much, much more visible. A lot of times, when the hooks are theoretically within direct line of site, they blend into the environment. I've lost survivors off my shoulder because I had no idea there was a hook a few feet away. The environments lack contrast and are too dark. The Auric Cell charm helps a lot.

I used to use charms that went with the killers, but these days I'm more likely to use charms that increase hook visibility. If it bugs any of you guys, tell BHVR to show hook auras at all times, even when within direct line of sight. Otherwise, enjoy the infinite same-ness caused by poor UX.

Personally I think that sounds fine, but I don't know the official answer to your question. There have been a bunch of threads about the surveys on these forums, you could see if this question was answered in any of those, and if not you could @ one of the mods, like MandyTalk.

In all seriousness, put the number you see there in the tally screen - if the visual issue with BBQ occurs, do not worry as we will evaluate this on our side as we're aware of the issue.

  • Put the number you see on the first tally screen that shows the total amount you got, including bonuses. The number on the tally screen doesn't include BBQ bonus BP, but that's okay, they won't hold it against us, just put the number it gives you.

It's been bugged. WGLF shows the bonus points on the end tally screen, but BBQ hasn't been showing its bonus points since at least the last patch. (afaik, unless it got fixed while I wasn't looking. It was still having that issue during the Bloodhunt, though.)

  • I don't find the clothing for Attack on Titan aesthetically interesting. I also think that DbD would've been better off doing AoT cosmetics before the manga ended, because the series' popularity dipped after that mess of an ending.

I'd prefer Junji Ito cosmetics. Identity V got some, and I envy them that so much.

Fatal Frame would make for a good chapter (yeah, it's a game, but I'm gonna plug it anyway). Pumpkin Night could have cosmetics potential. In general I don't find myself wanting to see anime/manga in DbD.

Wait, is a Chainsaw Man cosmetic for Hillbilly an option? I might actually play Hillbilly if that were an option.

  • I'm actually holding back on prestiging survivors I was about to prestige. No reason to trash event stuff if I don't have to.

I am P3ing some killers I had no intention of prestiging, however. I don't play as them, but I'd like their perks unlocked on all killers in the future, so I'm getting them to P3 level 1. They don't lose anything cool and I need to do something with the Bloodpoints.

  • Right now, Shattered Hope is completely useless if no one brings boons. At least Soul Guard has a secondary effect that works even if there are no hexes in play. And survivors can cleanse hex totems and break them permanently without needing a perk to do it. Killers can't relight their hex totems on a standing dull, unlike survivors with boons.

We desperately need to get away from this thinking that killer is only fun if they can squash the survivors with no chance at all for them to win.

If we are going to start having anti-loop, all-knowing, all-map pressure “monsters” in the game, survivors NEED more than a singular pallet in the middle of a field. I am going to go out on the limb and say we need to start looking at more tools for survivors to defend against the monster. We need to get real, if monsters are in the game, we need guns or knives, something that can stall the killer.

I dunno, I think we should just remove killers from DbD. Playing killer isn't fun, anyway, so might as well remove them so the devs can stop having to balance around them. Repairing gens, putting up boons, and searching chests is more than enough on its own for one game. Killers only get in the way and stop survivors from having fun.

I am sure they will give way/chance to people like you. Because everyone did not prestige, new system will kinda hurt them for no reason.

But even they won't do this, you can still prestige your characters without losing perks/addons/offerings etc. This should not be big deal. You will just get add-ons, items etc while levelling them to p3

My big gripe with making this prestige-based is that there was never an incentive to prestige before, so a lot of players didn't do it. It was actually detrimental to prestige before unless you just wanted the cosmetics. I have so many characters not prestiged but maxed out. So I'm basically penalized for not wanting to penalize myself. Now I have to grind even more because I didn't want to do what was previously an unnecessary grind.

Point number 2: the grind is STILL RIDICULOUS even if you're just basing it on prestige. It's still too much. People are applauding this as if reduced a 4k hr grind to a 2k hr grind is remotely reasonable. 2k hrs of grinding is still completely asinine in the year 2022. It only looks better because the current grind is absurd even by old school MMO standards.

It's a step in the right direction, but they've completely missed the point. You can't expect new players to put in thousands of hours worth of time to unlock all that a game has to offer. There's no reason to lock players out of perks. Players don't stop playing a PVP game when they have perks. They use them in trials.

Are you talking about getting the character to level 50 and then stopping? Or are you talking about going past level 50 and unlocking perks but without prestiging? Because if it's the latter, it doesn't sound like the system will punish it.:

It’s not entirely uncommon for a player to have withheld from engaging with the prestige system altogether. Some may have already collected every tier of every perk for every character without ever having levelled their prestige. Rest assured that this new progression system will ensure that these players are compensated for their time investments.

“When we roll this out, we’re planning on doing a prestige catch-up mechanic that will look at the perk tier you have on your characters,” explains Matt. “If you’ve been collecting perks on your character and levelling them up, you’ll gain a number of prestige levels based on how many perks and perk tiers you've acquired.”

I still hate perk tiers, and the 1 million BP cap remains way too strict given this game's grind.

  • If I pick up the survivor and get stuck on the environment because they have Boil Over, what the hell other choice is there but to drop them? I should be forced to wait through their entire wiggle bar before they finally wiggle off my shoulder? How is that reasonable? If the ability to drop survivors were removed, everyone is bleeding out for the rest of eternity. Not out of spite or anything, but because that would be the best play in all situations other than the last survivor going down directly under a hook.

Cross hair doesn't do much cause his knives don't land in the center.

Wait, what? Is that from the recoil or because reasons?

get scotch tape and a black marker, cut a bit of scotch tape and paint it black using the black marker and place it in the middle of your screen, and you will have a crosshair... but it won't help you with the insane recoil on console :)

hahaha yeah, I think it recently got passed into law that murder is legal if the victim messes with the flatscreen TV. A relationship can only survive so much, ya know.

It's dumb, DbD is the only game I play where it wants me to just guess where I'm aiming. I avoid playing most ranged killers. I like Nemesis because I can strafe to correct; if BHVR ever removed that, I'd be screwed.

DbD is so garbage on console, especially with ranged killers. There's no dead zone setting for controllers. Attempting to track survivors and quickly adjust aim is awful, and that's before the recoil even comes into play. Low stuttery fps, frame drops, and no dead zone setting! Adjusting the settings in Battlefront II made all the difference in the world for me, suddenly I didn't feel so incompetent. DbD is like, "Hah, deal."

  • Ooh, someone else who plays add-on-less.

Add-on-less is the best way to play. It's very freeing. It means I can meme around, do whatever I want, earn tons of BP or no BP and it doesn't matter in the least because I didn't lose anything for it. I spent months playing tier 1 Myers, just staring at survivors and being creepy from afar.

When I play killer the queue is instant. If I get some OP SWF team I can't meme around against, I just go AFK. No add-ons were spent so nothing's lost and I can enjoy myself having some snacks and watching YouTube videos or reading, and I'll get into the next match immediately with no wait. It's unfortunate that at night matchmaking is basically disabled so the teams I get have nothing to do with MMR, but that's part of why I don't use add-ons, so there's nothing at stake when the match is fudged from the start.

  • What do I answer when I ignore the lobby and just run Lightborn 100% of the time? There can be zero flashlights in the lobby and I still have Lightborn on.

  • I wish there were a brown meme add-on that let me ditch his stupid knives to be a normal 115 speed killer. The recoil on his knives is pain on console, as is trying to aim without a crosshair because even after all these years no, I cannot naturally tell where the middle of the TV screen is.

I love the way Trickster twirls his weapon after a hit. I just want to run around doing that, but being 110 speed makes him crap as an M1 killer.

You can literally turn off cross play in options.

    @Ketrab2703 said:

Go to the settings and turn off the crossplay.

Technically. You can technically turn it off. I've tried turning off cross-play on Switch, and after over an hour of waiting I gave up trying to find a match. Not much good for an option if it literally prevents me from playing the game at all.

PC players shouldn't even want to cross-play with console. I dodge lobbies with other Switch players because it's too much, a single Switch player on the survivor team already tanks the match. (I would feel bad about getting everyone killed, but this is on BHVR. There's no brightness slider, the fps is crap, the stuttering is abhorrent, the input lag is the worst of any system, the sensitivity is miserable, and I can't turn off cross-play and still get a match. I can't even run DS to prevent being tunneled out because the "difficult" skill check is actually impossible.) When I play against Switch killers, it's usually pretty boring because they whiff 90% of their attempted hits; people get fudge all for BP in those matches.

There should at least be the option for PC-only cross-play and console-only cross-play.

Wait, do you primarily play on Switch? If so, I have mad respect for you!

lol thanks. Originally I only played on PS4, but then I got the game on Switch last summer and now usually my friend plays on PS4 while I play on the Switch. It's, uh... it's an experience. One BHVR should be very, very embarrassed about.

  • I keep saying this. Switch is miserable handheld, even in pitch darkness. You know how many times I've run into a wall and had no idea? The only option is turning up the screen brightness, and I can't even get through a single match before all that light hurts my eyes and gives me a raging headache. So I tank games by being a survivor with maybe half of everyone else's visibility. I'm sure I'm a team favorite.
