Same here, PS5 as well.
yeah same here
Yup same here I can’t play any of the new content seems consoles can’t play 😭
I'm on ps4 and every time I try logging in so far I get this, ive restarted my game and console so I have no idea what to do please someone help 😭
damn what a bummer, was looking forward to playing today…
@mandysuxx @Peanits you guys aware of this?
I'm having same issue on ps4. Also the intro cut scene is the default cut scene with Trapper, not the new one for the chapter.
Are you all on PS5?
I didn't even know they have a new one as I also get the Trapper one.
yes ps5
Same issue. Same cutscene. Can’t log in. It says restarting may fix it but it does not.
What platform?
Thanks for reporting this, we're looking into this right now. I will update as soon as a I have more information.
Same here ps5, killer or survivor.
The matchmaking process failed
Reason : timeoutcreated
I've seen several others mention same issue on ps4 in fog whisperer stream chat so atleast we aren't the only ones.
Same issue and cutscene here too. Also on PS4. Multiple restarts on game and console haven't done anything either. Glad to know I'm not the only one though
Thank you Mandy, I appreciate the effort you all have been putting in much love ❤
I'm having this issue too. Running the game on PS4 Pro. Everything is updated, but the game shows the old cut scene and gives an Initialization Error.
Thanks Mandy. The DBD cover on my system changed to the new cover art from the old art. Not sure if that helps at all.
This issue is happening on both Playstation and Xbox per several people on Dowsey twitch stream. I'm on Xbox and haven't downloaded yet but I asked if it's happening on Xbox and other's have said yes.
I also have that, that's the only new thing I can see. And btw it's pretty cool looking.
Happening on both consoles. There's also another ticket so one of these will get closed.
PS5 player here aswell, very odd bug and really annoying. Really wanted to play…
Happening to me too. PS5. Both killer and survivor. Cross play on. Turned cross play off just to experiment and the error message pops up too.
My bad, I wasn't thinking and just posted this in the general then I realized there's a technical section. Do you know of the other ticket just in case this one goes so I can find the info?
can't play on ps4 after update.
Same for my partner and I. We are both on PS5.
So I downloaded the latest patch, and now I can’t log in… I restarted my game. It still keeps saying initialization error.
Normally when I reset the game this goes away. So what’s happening here? How can I resolve the issue?
they tweeted about our issue https://twitter.com/DeadByBHVR/status/1534201929479462915?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet
This is happening to me too on PS4
Initialization error. What gives?
No biggie. I think you both created them at the same time because they were literally next to each other in the discussions section.

They just tweeted "We’ve received reports from Playstation players who are experiencing issues getting into the game. We have a fix incoming as we speak.
Crossplay will be disabled on Playstation temporarily, but we are currently working on a fix. Thank you for bearing with us!:
what I'm getting too better be fix soon like NOW!!!!
Yay, hope it's soon but I also am trying to be patient. Thanks for the info!
Guess devs spent all our money on their yt show and can't afford a ps5 to test game.
Thank you! That's kinda funny tho, people are itching to try the new chapter.
I just wanted to check out the new update with my friend but apparently I can't due to a Game Version Mismatch.
I'm on PS4, and people on twitter are reporting similar issues. I can't join my friend's lobby, and he can't join mine. He's on PS5.
@MandyTalk I know you guys are working on a fix for the initialisation problem, but I don't know if this has been brought to the team's attention yet.
Yes the Playstation issue is being looked into.
Same. I’m now unable to play. I have restarted my ps4 and the game multiple times as well as clearing my cache.
on ps4 and same.
I'm on PS4 and after the update finished installing, I repeatedly tried logging into the game. I keep getting the error message, "Initialization Error." Why is it that each update seems to cause even more problems than before?
I'm going to download it and check on my Xbox in a few when I have my lunch break.
I don't have anything listed for Xbox as yet - no confirmed reports. So if you do find an issue, please let me know.
YUP! This is where I am rn!
hope this fix soon I wanted play on the new map.
I hope this something that can be fixed within hours and not days or weeks..
I'm so glad to have spent money on the new chapter only to find out I can't play at all. Great job as always.
Anyways, I tried both with and without crossplay, each time getting the timeout error.
(happens on both survivor and killer obviously)
PS5, game loads up with new cutscene and everything but cant find match for several minutes, then error message pops up
So if I purchased the rift pass and this takes days to fix… can I have extra days added to my pass? 😬 is that a thing?
