Indeed, but not in the way Almo seemed to be saying...

The Balanced Landing nerf is fine.
It's now in line with the other Exhaustion perks as a limited use get away from death.
What ISN'T fine is the map design that causes this perk to be useless on certain maps and that made it god tier pre-nerf on others.
BHVR needs to stop kicking the can down the road and actually start fixing their old busted maps.
Balanced Landing shouldn't need this nerf, Bloodlust shouldn't exist, and Killers shouldn't be better off just not chasing Survivors on certain loops (they should be better off not chasing certain Survivors too long), but they all do because most maps suck.

BHVR devs are an enigma.
I'd like to inform those unaware that, pre-nerf, combined Filthy Blade and Nasty Blade addons increased Mend time by 5 seconds.

Playing him he's a Hillbilly without collision that needs to charge his chainsaw.
He's good, and really fun when frames don't screw you over, but he's not exactly game changing.
-
You are judging early, but I agree the new map sucks.
I don't understand why they insist on making new maps so freaking big. I guess there just NEED to be more maps to screw over Huntress and the M1 Killers.
-
Did you tunnel or did the bottom two kill themselves/play super immersed? I'm not hating, people are free to play how they wanna play, but the point distribution there is super wack.
There's no way that was a normal game; you don't have two Survivors breaking 20k and two Survivors getting 5k or under without something unusual going on.

You will get them crushed again Behaviour disappoints they promise then they go back on it pc people whines to much about their special cosmetics console players never even had a chance
Uhm, console players did in fact have a chance to earn all four of the event cosmetics in question.
DBD was out on console when the Howling Grounds event began. I should know, because I played through said event ON CONSOLE.
It IS a bit disturbing BHVR 180s on their decision because some people were very vocal about keeping their 'special cosmetics', but you can't say that there was "no chance" to earn the event cosmetics.

I really have to question if someone among the Devs suffers from PTSD from old Legion for facing them in-game. It would suggest an extreme level of pettiness and caprice, but I struggle to find any other explanation at this point to make sense of the additional unnecessary nerfs.
But they continue to make and release cool and, more importantly, free skins for Legion.
I don't think they hate Legion, I think they just genuinely have no clue what to do with Legion and simply aren't willing/are unable to listen to any community feedback on them.
Still sucks, but I don't think the devs are actively out to get us.

Poor Saboteur. It used to be so strong. :,(
That aside, I never run Iron Will. I prefer to rely more on looping then stealth, doubly so when I'm instadownable.
Calm Spirit isn't great, but not disturbing crows and not screaming can be very helpful at times.

Meanwhile she has no power XDDD..even her vomit is beat by certain tiles and stealth
High wall tiles are the ones you're thinking of, unless she manages to arc her vomit and get lucky, it's like looping a Huntress (especially if the Plague continually charges and uncharges her purge like most do).
She's also super weak to pallet camping, since a stun removes her power completely.
Honestly, IMO Plague is actually strongest when people don't cleanse.
Instead of a Huntress on a timer she's an anti-stealth instadown Killer.
Of course if you cleanse and nobody else does, you're killing your team, so I personally don't cleanse.

I fully support this idea, give EVERYONE obnoxiously loud one liners please.

Neither, Benedict is dead and Vigo is able to bend the Entity's realm to their will. Having either as Survivor would be a disservice to the lore. I also think the design team could do better with totally original characters.
No, I want the Town of Weeks as a Realm with several different maps.
A cramped and crumbling urban area, filled with fog, crows, and the whispering voice of the Entity would be amazing.
Don't think Haddonfield, think Lery's, but with each of the 'rooms' being two story buildings and the hallways being tangled alleyways. Bonus points if the devs actually add usable doors like they've wanted to in the past.

Wraith and Susie would be the only ones that might canonically go "Oops! Guess I slipped while carrying you to a hook and dropped you next to the Hatch. Oh darn, it would be such a shame if you were to Escape." IMO.
GF might also let you go, but it'd be to tell everyone else how great at killing he is. Not because he's actually merciful.
-
It used to be worth it cuz you got a unique cosmetic set, but lately it's just be one alternate top that isn't even a new top; it just has a single new color/texture.
I hope they revert this design decision.
-
They're all great and unique characters
Frank's a creepy and twisted #########, but in a tragic way.
- He's brutal but cunning, vicious and charming. As like to convince someone to kill for him as kill them himself.
- He's the product of a messed up and a lonely childhood in a world that doesn't care. You don't feel sorry for him, but you do feel sad he turned out the way he did.
Julie is just someone who fell in love with the wrong person.
- She's not happy with being a killer, or a criminal, but she IS happy with Frank. For him, she'd do anything. Love twisted into something evil is such a perfectly creepy idea.
Joey is a cold blooded killer. Frank didn't corrupt him, he just nurtured the darkness that was already there.
- He is cold and unempathic. He doesn't enjoy killing like Ghostface. He's not after some emotional high like Clown. He's not insane like Nurse.
- He kills because he can, and because he can get away with it. It's a point of pride. A boast to show how clever and strong he is. Crime is a game to him, not a means but an end in and of itself.
- He's no Michael though, he craves approval from those above him. He wants to be valued. To serve and serve well and be told he's done well. He's the perfect enforcer of Frank's will.
Susie is a decent person, corrupted not by the Frank, but her best friend.
- Susie is the only one who actively refused to participate in the murder. She's the only one not swayed by Frank's charm or under his thumb.
- She doesn't enjoy killing, in fact she despises it, and she doesn't care about Frank's approval.
- But she does care about her best friend, Julie, and she'll be there for her no matter what.

A dev will come in here and insist auto aim doesn't exist, I've posted several videos of this issue but they don't care
There's a super common Survivor tech you can do on PS4, where if you wiggle back and forth (not a 360 or 180, literally just going side to side as you move forward) while running and the Killer attempts a lunge attack they'll get pulled backwards so that they don't actually move forward.
It'll look and feel like a basic attack, despite the Killer having initiated a lunge.
If that's not auto aim freaking out, I'd like to know what it is.

Ohhhh... so like an ON/OFF switch for there power? That's an interesting Idea! I kinda like it, and it would make some of the useless add-ons change.AND Good to be back! Thank you!
Exactly! Given how nonlethal their power currently is, I don't see why it couldn't work like that.
The only addons you'd *need* to change would be the duration set; and those could just increase movement speed while Frenzying instead.
It's not exactly a complicated or super cool idea, but I hope that'd also make it fairly easy to implement.
And no problem, I'm just glad the most outspoken and chill pro-Legion person around here is back!
-
Happy to see you back UlvenDagoth. :)
Personally I feel like Legion would be much more enjoyable with just a permanent Feral Frenzy.
- Hear me out; a Legion cannot down a Survivor while in Feral Frenzy. There's nothing they can do to pressure a Survivor while nearby and in Feral Frenzy.
- Exiting Feral Frenzy stuns the Legion longer than a pallet stun. Anyone who drops a pallet on a Feral Frenzying Legion is a goober; the Legion has to do worse than that to themselves anyway in order to actually down someone.
- Feral Frenzy also instantly ends on a missed attack, prevents seeing blood or scratchmarks, and cancels all aura reading while Killer Instinct is active.
- With all these penalties the power could easily not be on a timer and not be overly oppressive. IMO it would finally give the Legion the ability to do what they are supposed to do: hit multiple Survivors quickly and pressure them into mending while they chase one Survivor as an M1 Killer.
- Most games currently it's very difficult to actually hit multiple Survivors. People spread out vs Legion to deny them their power.
- With a permanent FF the Legion would at least always have the option to use their power how it's supposed to be used, instead of injuring one person quickly and then just stunning themselves because they only get 10 seconds of power, sans addons.
Legion needs a full rework.
Stuff like Mob Mentality. But a rework like that could also take years to see the light of day.
I think changing their addons up to be more interesting and unique, making Feral Frenzy permanent, and giving them more unique audio cues for Survivors (stuff like GF's Marked music for people effected by Killer Instinct) would be a great way to try and make them more fun until a full rework can be done.
-
I'm pretty sure Peanits has said old Killers probably won't ever get new unique chase music, because it's just not worth the time or effort that could be better spent elsewhere.
That said, at least it looks like the new Killers will have unique chase themes, so that's good.

And that would be nice. I play all 3 of them, but less of Legion. Despite my name though, I've actually gone away from Pig for now since I'm out of dash add-ons.
There are 2 small, yet surprisingly big changes I want to see for Pig overall: Make the RTB work in the endgame again and increase her dash charge time.
I play Legion and Pig a lot more than Doctor, but they could all equally do with buffs IMO.
For Pig I just wish she had more than like 6 addons that actually helped her. Having her RBTs activate during the EGC and buffing her Dash would be amazing.
-
How about we buff Legion, Doctor, and Pig instead?

Same here. SWF or solo takes about the same amount of time.
Same on PS4 for me.
Killer queues are literally instant; less than 5 seconds before the lobby is full unless the people who show up leave.
If I try to play Survivor I can wait anywhere from 8 to 30 minutes to get in a lobby, and then I usually get dodged if I'm Nea.
Now that I think about it, it's no wonder I prefer Killer.

I'm personally very curious about that too.
Stats like these just give me more questions.

Yeah, a lot of people seem to come on here between matches or while angry. Everyone should take what is said on here with a grain of salt.
It's worth noting though that while Legion is popular, they do have one of the lowest Kill rates in Red Ranks.
-
@Mc_Harty said:
You have to keep in mind of region as well with these stats. Legion may be popular overall, but in something like the Oceania Region (for example) you'll probably rarely see him.
This is probably true, but I'm not sure that helps explain why Legion is the 8th most popular Red Rank Killer.
Sure we have no way of knowing one way or another why they are, but I think it has more to do than just Legion being very popular or very unpopular in one region.
A Legion region doesn't explain their decently high pick rate at Red Rank.
-
@Vetrathene said:
Hard to say the reason behind how the stats play out. That would require a more in depth study that would be difficult to maintain as the game is in a constant state of flux. I would say more likely that its because as people play the game they buy more killers, and those people have access to Legion while the lower ranks often don't.
@Aven_Fallen said:
You have to keep in mind that Red Rank players most likely play the game for a longer time and therefore also put money into it, meaning that they will have Legion.
But brown Ranks (or even yellow Ranks) might not even have access to Legion, because they are fairly new to the game and did not spend money on getting a Killer other than those which are included in the Basegame or are popular because they are from movies.
Yes, but these stats indicate that Legion is a fairly popular choice at Red Ranks, almost as played as Myers who is not an unpopular or weak Killer.
Most Red Ranks probably own The Hag too, if only just for Hex: Ruin, but she is the least played Killer at Red Ranks. Legion also sees more use at Red Rank than Wraith, a character everyone has access to.
Just because Red Rank players own someone doesn't mean they'll play them. There's something special about Legion.
It'd definitely require more study to pinpoint an exact reason, but I thought it was interesting enough to warrant discussion.
-
Nurse easily.
Nurse
- Not only is blinking extremely physically painful (the devs have said as much AND you can hear her screaming in pain for yourself) but she is suffocating beneath her mask even when she doesn't blink.
- She also clearly retains memories of her previous life as a caring and compassionate person, as evidenced by A Nurse's Calling's flavor text and how she gently caresses the Survivor's face after her Mori. In addition to the physical pain she goes through in every trial she seems to feel remorseful about killing Survivors/wants to help them, but is forced to murder them.
- That's to say nothing of how tragic her backstory is, or how her now few of her add-ons are mementos of the people she used to care for.
Doctor
- The Doctor's brain is constantly under intense stimulus. He feels pain on a daily basis no doubt, but how much it effects him is uncertain given his propensity for giggling even when stunned. Likewise his feelings and thoughts are unknowable. He enjoyed torturing people in his previous life though, so if he feels any emotional or mental stress over his current condition it's probably born out of a loss of control over himself rather than anything else. Doctor could be a close second to Nurse, but there's no real way of telling.
Trapper
- Trapper's mental state is that of a beast now, according to his perks; so while his physical pain is probably extremely great, he's apparently not cognizant enough anymore to have any psychological or mental pain.
Hag
- Hag is a desiccated corpse that knows only hunger. Her physical pain is probably intense, but I don't think she's suffering emotionally. She made a deal with the Entity for revenge against the people who wronged her and her people and this is the price.
- If anything her gusto with which she seems to enjoy feasting on Survivor's hope and flesh, indicates that it's a price she was more than willing to pay for revenge; or at the very least that she has learned to live with her new monstrous identity.
Spirit
- The Spirit's emotional and mental pain is obviously great, as evidenced by her tortured expressions, but she doesn't have any indication of suffering the same sort of intense physical pain the other Killers on this list might.
-
-
Unfortunately everything is working how it should, but IMO the matchmaking shouldn't have that much leeway.
I don't think matches with Ranks like OP's or this should be acceptable and fine:
Even a 4 Rank difference is pretty noticeable, and 6 Ranks is the difference between Red Ranks and Green Ranks.
Rank 10s getting matched with Rank 4s is acceptable and fine with the current system.

Is that why the game freezes for a few seconds when I select wraith.
Yeah for some reason the game has a lot of trouble loading Wraith on PS4. Especially if he's wearing the full Seeping Hollow outfit.
It used to be REALLY bad in-game, but it's gotten better and now it mostly only happens in the menus or on Killer-side when you uncloak.
The issue I'm talking about though was back when Sloppy Butcher caused Survivors to constantly spurt blood for the rest of the game after they were hit once.
Uncloaking with even two Survivors like that would basically freeze the game for everyone playing, doing it with all four spurting and the Seeping Hallow outfit on turned it into a slide show and lcould crash the game.

At least Wraith can't destroy the in-game framerate/actually forcefully DC people by just equipping the Seeping Hollow Cosmetic and running Sloppy Butcher anymore though.

So, the changed Balance Landing will prevent the survivor from creating broken loops and infinites but allow the survivor to drop down, gain speed and get to another loop.
You propose they leave Balance Landing as it is, change all the maps so that it will prevent the survivor from creating broken loops and infinites but allow the survivor to drop down, gain speed and get to another loop.
Makes total sense to me....
Edit - for some reason my comment disappeared while editing
Balanced Landing isn't the only thing making certain maps annoying.
Haddonfield will still be hell for Killers, it's just that now the Myers house is a dead zone with a guaranteed basement spawn instead of a major loop spot. And maps like Hawkins and the Game are more Killer sided now, since half the loops can't be chained together with no stagger.
Balanced Landing getting nerfed isn't bad in and of itself IMO, but it doesn't address the actual problem of garbage map design and problem loops; which is something that has been plaguing the game since it came out and needs to actually be addressed sooner or later.

Lol, yeah. I meant something that hints at the world within the game. Kinda like how 99% of the items in Dark Souls contain lore bits.I love the items that hint at Vigo. That combined with the Withered Blight lore (I know the event was meh) make me think that Vigo might be a killer at a later point.
Honestly, I hope Vigo doesn't become a Killer. In the lore they seem to have a LOT of power over the Fog, able to shape and bend it to their will like the Entity does.
If they become a Killer that power would have to be toned down, or they could just do whatever they wanted. Like, unspawn pallets or the Black Lock.
But if they were toned down, then they wouldn't really be Vigo anymore. It'd just be a narrative waste IMO; taking a unique and interesting character and making them more or less the same as 20 other characters.
That said, I would like to see more of the lore delivered through flavor text. As much as appreciate the Archives, the subtle and vague hints of lore are more appealing to me than the Observer's "this is what happened/is happening".

They're in trials outside of the playable game. Our matches and the playable characters are just a representation of the Entity's trials.
Obviously, trials with multiple of the same Survivor don't actually occur in the lore, just like how DC'ing, despite being a common in-game occurrence, has no basis in the actual lore of the game. The games we play aren't automatically canonical occurrences, although some of them could be.
Rather the playable Survivors and Killers represent the best of those the Entity has grabbed; not the norm. The playable Survivors are all extremely motivated people, who will NOT give up no matter what happens to them, and the playable Killers are all extremely determined killing machines who will simply NEVER stop.
If the Alchemist's memories are to be believed, many thousands of others have gone into the Void; discarded for losing the will to go on or for not serving the Entity's purposes.
How many more then must make up the average trial? The Entity certainly doesn't rely on less than 40 people to sustain it; there are possibly thousands of trials and thousands more Killers and Survivors taking part in the Entity's games, that we don't get to see because they simply aren't special enough to warrant representation.
The Survivors featured in the default perks were simply regular people who figured out a special technique or trick that became a perk.
Until we get lore on their fates and the actual nature of the trials; IMO their final fates are unknowable simply because the game isn't a 100% faithful representation of the lore.

Ghostface and Bubba.
Michael too if you use your stalk right.
Technically Hillbilly, Amanda, and Demogorgon too, but Hillbilly doesn't need to M1 that often and Amanda and Demogorgon have to limit themselves to using easy to avoid Shred and Ambush attacks on their Obsession.

She also laughs and sobs during her lullaby the longer it goes on.
IIRC her lullaby just restarts when she exits chase, so the stuff that takes 7 or 10 minutes to play never gets heard.
