  • Too much. As the others have said, you'd just need to run Windstorm and you could run up to and instayoink people off vaults after injuring them or gens if they don't have Spine Chill and you hide your approach.

IMO Wraith just needs his post-uncloak speed boost to last 2 seconds. He's already an okay Killer, and that would give him the extra Chase power he needs.

  • He's not the strongest, but Wraith will always be best spoopy boi.

I mean, does Ghostface have a cool bell that goes *Bing Bong*?

    Yeah, I didn't think so.

  • No pallets, no lockers, just huge dead zones, tall reeds and immersed Survivors.

I like the hide and seek aspect of this game, but only when it's actually possible for me to find people without literally walking into them.

Also the hook spawns still absolutely suck and the map looks gross, not creepy.

  • Legion.

Legion needs a major overhaul. Either their power should stay nearly useless and be just for fun or they should get a new power.

Being able to ignore pallets, vaults, and stealth is impossible to balance.

Either the power has too few limitations and the Killer can just destroy Survivors whenever, or it has too many and the power is useless.

But more critically, New Legion isn't fun to play as or face.

Their power is so limited in scope and what you can do with it, that you feel like an M1 Killer even if you M2 everyone. There's nothing special about playing Legion besides getting a lot of points.

For Survivors they're either just holding M1 or looping an M1 Killer. Outside of trying to 360 their Frenzy hit, Legion chases have no excitement or interesting back and forth between the Survivor and the Killer. They're just an M1 Killer.

Even Bubba, Pig, and Wraith can use their powers to make chases more interesting. Legion just M1s. They need looked at.

TL;DR - Legion. Legion's power isn't fun for either role. They either need a total power rework or they need to be more meme-y so they're fun to play as and verse.

  • The Huntress Hound mask looks lame IMO and I don't play the other characters involved enough to really care.

I'm glad for people that did want these, but for me personally it's whatevs.

  • It's more fun and exciting.

Unless I'm pursuing a challenge, daily, or etc. that requires me living, I'll die so that another may live.

I didn't do that, I hook someone and immediately look for a new target. I try and make the game fun for the survivors, but I somehow tunnelled. They're probably just salty?

Well it sounds like you answered your own question then. They were just salty.

I don’t see how that would cheapen the IP. Leatherface has worn makeup and dressed as a woman in multiple films.

    If anyone was doubting:

    Untitled Image

Also, if 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The New Generation' was allowed to be created, then I'm pretty sure the issue isn't the license owners not wanting Leatherface associated with transvestism.

  • Easy, you chase and down someone after they get unhooked.

If it bothers you then stop doing it.

If it doesn't bother you just tell the Survivors that complain that you're just playing the game.

If people rage, call you homophobic slurs, or otherwise harass you, report them.

  • A modern slasher looking outfit for Huntress, another Susie outfit (not just a recolor), Nea in a suit, Goth Nea (or Goth anyone), and, saving the best for last, Speedo Quentin.

  • They both sucked IMO.

Hallowed Blight had it's creepy ambience and being an actual event going for it, but at least I could actually play regular games this Halloween where people didn't throw the game to collect plant juices.

I'm glad we got the awesome skins tho.

Try to play her her in higher ranks, red rank if possible. Then you'll realize how the cooldown affects her

I didn't say it didn't affect her, I asked how it makes playing her less enjoyable. If you played addonless Nurse before and had fun, what about new addonless Nurse is unfun?

I can't play Nurse and find out why you're not having fun.

  • @StarMoral said:

And before y'all start rage typing, it's a freakin joke.

There are people who seriously think like this though.

People that think everyone playing Survivor just whines and complains if they don't win and people that think everyone playing Killer just whines and complains if they don't win.

I'm pretty sure this thread is gonna start a few arguments before the hour is up.

  • @Laakeri said:

@OmegaXII I'm bit confused. She suddenly became boring after she got balanced?

I'm confused too. Most of the complaints here are just that addonless Nurse is no longer fun to play.

But what part of her change made her unfun to play? How does her blink cooldown make her gameplay less fun?

  • I just push the button and listen to music.

The strategies and mindgames can wait until the game starts.

  • Either that or it's someone who's just bored on the hook.

EDIT: I'd like to clarify I think it means "Killer is Camping/near hook" not necessarily "leave me to die". Unless I know the Killer isn't at the hook I won't go for a wiggling Survivor without BT.

  • I just don't really feel like they belong.

I don't hate Charms, but I don't feel like they look good on Killer hooks or are visible enough on Survivors to really justify their existence as cosmetics. But that's just my IMO.

  • @DeKillerKiller said:

Every single time I want to give someone the hatch, I will punch the wall telling them to stop struggling.

That's my way of saying "Struggle and you will get hooked."

Most of the time, they just kept struggling. If they just stopped I maybe would've been able to find the hatch for them.

For me personally, I think its scarier if the killer frees the last survivor after killing three of their friends. Just bringing them to their escape and telling them to run... Run... Because Freddy's coming for you.

This is why I think it's lore appropriate to let the last one go as Ghostface.

If nobody survives, who will tell everyone how much of an amazing and incredibly dangerous Killer he is?

  • I'd create an original Killer who gains tokens for her power by hitting Survivors.

Her add-ons give her the ability to spend tokens on a variety of actions or remove/lessen her ability to gain tokens in favor of strong passive effects.

Her base movement speed would 120% but it would decrease to 110% or 115% as she gains her maximum amount of tokens. And she'd be able to spend tokens on a double hit attack (not instadown) at base.

The idea behind her being that you'd never be sure what her power was at first; one game she might be a stealth Killer with traps, the other she might throw knives and teleport through lockers. Kinda like Michael but with more variety, so every game vs. her would be tense.

Her character concept would just be pure evil slasher movie villain. All our current female roster are misguided or tragic characters who have turned to murder due to circumstances largely beyond their control. I want someone who chooses to be the way she is; a pure evil female character.

  • No official ETA AFAIK, unfortunately.

That said, I remember hearing rumors it would be today. But those are probably just rumors.

  • I think you're conflating having fun with winning. Maybe they're the same for you, but for me I can have fun and lose as long as whatever I'm taking part in is enjoyable.

While yes, nobody should expect to win every or even most matches, it is not unreasonable to expect every match of DbD to be fun. Games are supposed to be fun.

  • You're right OP, there is something fundamentally wrong with generators, but it's not that they go too fast.

It's that how fast they go varies and depends greatly on the Killers and Survivors in question as well as their perks and add-ons.

I mean, if gens were slowed so that No Ruin Wraiths could effectively deal with Commodious Toolbox using Prove Thyself SWFs, then Forever Freddy would be absolutely unplayable against Solos without items.

The huge gap in this game between the various types of Survivors and Killers as well as their perks make it hard to balance any of the game's core problems.

Hillbilly and Spirit can pressure Survivors in different areas quickly enough that they can generally manage without Ruin; and with it they can handle almost any Survivor team.

But Wraith without add-ons can't easily traverse the map enough to do the same; he also doesn't have an innate instadown ability, so a Survivor in a dead zone just gets hit instead of going down unless they mess up or the Wraith has a perk to help him. He needs Ruin to keep one chase from costing 3 gens against a decently competent Survivor team.

Either No Ruin Wraith will always be not as good as Spirit or Nurse with Ruin, or the devs will have to majorly overhaul a lot of this game. Either by nerfing strong Killers so they can then change the game itself to be better for every Killer, or by buffing all the weak Killer's powers individually so they can compete with strong Killers.

Given the Spirit is going to be 'looked' at and the Nurse was nerfed, it seems like they're going for the former. At least, I hope they are.

I will never take that comment back, i'll stand by that comment until that bonus is buffed to something weak but at least consistently useful like the other bonuses.

That 5% movement speed bonus has feelings you know. And she's very sad about your hurtful words.

Besides, if it was a consistently strong effect it would give away that you have Devour Hope. The way it is now synergies well with how stacks are gained while remaining relatively unobtrusive on the Survivor side.

I mean, would you prefer it goes back to being a 5% debuff to gen speeds?

  • New/selectable Moris and new/varied Objectives are a must too, but the Killers need emotes darn it!

In character stuff of course, like the infamous Myers head tilt, rolling their shoulders, cracking their neck, cracking their knuckles, doing something cool with their weapon, showing off their power, laughing, etc.

Y'know, creepy stuff that a slasher villain might do.

  • I use my good BP offerings (Gateaus, BPS, Puddings, Shells, etc.) but otherwise play normally.

For me normally though usually means letting the last Survivor go if they were good or had cute/cool cosmetics and playing more for fun and points (for them and me) rather than "win at all costs".

  • One of my favorite perks in the game; when it works it's beautiful.

Honestly it's probably a bit too strong when it actually works, but given how often it's mostly useless it's fine.

Also you take that back about the 2 token bonus! It gave me two downs in one game by boosting my Chainsaw rampage speed as Bubba, and it feels really nice besides to be able to zoom away from the hook.

  • I prefer Killer.

It's just a ton of fun; unless people DC or spew hate messages I almost always manage to have a good time. Lose or win.

  • Don't you touch my magical glowing skeleton boi! He's beautiful.

It's like brightly colored Nea; being super visible is part of the charm.

  • The Keeper and Sebastian Castellanos from Evil Within.

The Keeper is perfect for DbD; he can set traps, teleport between his safe heads by brutally ripping off his current head, already has a 'The ___' name, and he has an M1 weapon cooldown in his habit of menacingly clanging his huge hammer against his head.

    Plus he looks beautiful:

    fa091d0dee7f53abce4f4304b0a31bc3.jpg

And he even has a Mori animation ready:

    https://youtu.be/Aa1hzNTfh80

As for Sebastian; I feel like his proclivity for sneak attacks, strong desire to help others in peril, and ability to analyze and scavenge resources from his environment could all be turned into interesting and fun perks.

The Sadist and Juli Kidman, also from Evil Within, could both fit pretty well too with a little effort. And having two Julies and THREE chainsaw bois in the game would be great, fight me.

  • Not a Pig Main, but I do love playing her.

Sadly, nobody has ever tried to boop my snoot when I play Mandy.

    nothingtosaysadmax.png

I don't really know how I'd react if they did.

  • They're almost all amazing potential maps, but a campground map fills a niche that is sorely needed in our slasher game.

I know Camp Crystal Lake is unrealistic, but it'd still be cool. Fingers crossed we get in a couple years.

  • Meme - [Noun] - A humorous image, video, piece of text, etc., that is copied (often with slight variations) and spread rapidly by Internet users.

Not sure how else to describe it honestly. It's just a different way of telling a joke.

What I wish they'd fix is the 4 medium vault bug if you time it fast enough

That annoyed the heck out of me the first time I encountered it.

Reminds me of when the Entity Blocker just flat out stopped working. That was an interesting time.

As for reducing the blocker from 3 to 2, no. It'd nerf EVERY window loop when only a few are a problem. Just fix the problem instead.

I genuinely don't get how people think spirit is healthy for the game. She has 0 counterplay. I love her to death, but I can't play her anymore. She is 0 fun to go against. Dominating every chase shouldn't be fun for you, it's a PVP game. You all seem to forget this, the other play SHOULD BE ABLE TO OUTPLAY YOU.

Because they aren't thinking about the other person.

@TheRockstarKnight As a Meg main, I’m so over seeing sporty cosmetics on her.

Like give this girl a dress, Idc just something else. lol

Agreed. Meg needs more variety; a dress, a chef's apron, combat boots and cargo pants, medieval armor, whatever! Just something that adds to her concept, rather than repeats "Meg likes sports".

  • I've heard it's buggy but you should get it as long as no Survivor Escapes.

I got it by Sacrificing everyone on hooks, but theoretically DCs, Moris, Tombstone Kills, RBT Kills, bleedouts, and EGC deaths should all work too.

  • Currently, Undetectable counters all Survivor aura-reading perks. So yes. Kindred lies.

Funnily enough Undetectable Killers are still detectable too; just only with Premonition and Spine Chill.

I don't think that's it. I mean Dwight's blight cosmetic is Vigo's apprentice as a chemical factory worker, when Dwight's background is working in PizzaWhat.

It's a joke. Almost all of Meg's many cosmetics revolve around sports or running.

  • It's because they haven't figured out how to combine the Serum's lore with a sporty outfit.

Don't worry though, as soon as they do 'Vigo's Basketball Player' will hit the store shelves; auric cell only until next Halloween of course.

  • @se05239 said:

    Don't you like pumpkin generators?

The Jack-o'-Lantern generators and Blight hooks are cool, but you get 1 a game without Offerings and nothing else.

They don't even do anything special. No fireworks. No BBQ sizzle. No slushy machine noises. No fleshy gross noises. They're just a reskinned gen and a reskinned hook.

IDK, it's just pretty lame that that's it. There's the spooky menu too I guess (you can't even see the pumpkins half the time), but nothing else.

    No spooky atmosphere. :/

Scratched Mirror is not dead. Everyone is being so dramatic about this change. His footsteps and breathing were as about as stealthy as a bull in a China shop.

Yes they were. And now if you have the non-teachable perk Spine Chill your perk will counter his stealth for you.

It's a significant nerf to a character and one of his builds that was already hard countered by knowing how to loop and being observant/having headphones.

"this, this is a slap and spit to the face."

You seriously feel personally victimized by their choice of voice actor? Get a grip.

OP's exaggerating a bit because they're not happy with the voice acting. It's not a big deal.

  • I love Michael, but why would I?

Ghostface is easier and more fun.

With Michael's unique undetectable Scratched Mirror build being dead and all his other builds having a severe disadvantage if he tries to Tier 2 on someone with Spine Chill why would I play him over Ghostface? As Ghostface I move faster, can always just smack someone if they turn out to have Spine Chill, and I keep my sneakiness the whole game.

He's better than Michael in every way possible now at being the spooky instadown Killer.

If I need my Michael Myers fix I'll just watch Halloween.

  • I hope not, but almost certainly.

    1). Same

2). I blame the community for this. Last Halloween tried to be special and different, and we saw how that turned out. DC central with people left to die on 1st hook at 5 gens because the only thing anyone cared about was getting the serum. It wasn't even that hard to fill vials; people just wanted to be jerks about it and do it ASAP. There's no reason we couldn't have gotten more event skins for like lockers, chests, pallets, and totems but I don't blame the devs for not introducing new gameplay elements.

3.) This riles me up too. The serum not being tied to the Halloween event feels like some kind of joke.

4.) Same here. Making the skins purchasable before the event feels like a shameless cashgrab to me and definitely kills the mood. "Gee, I'm so glad I grinded and completed Archive challenges so I could get the same thing Sue got a week ago by paying 10 bucks."

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

I mean, you get a extra Perk Slot for Scratched Mirror Myers, because you dont need Monitor anymore. Not the worst trade.

Becoming detectable by Survivor perks when you're still the 2nd slowest Killer in the game is not a fair trade for an extra perk slot.

Regular Michael also only gets a nerf, since you were almost never going to get within 6 meters of a Survivor until you'd Tiered up anyway (But you'll sure as heck have to look at Survivors if you want to hit Tier 2).

Sure he got a minor buff, but for the most part this update was a nerf for Michael.

  • If they really want consistency why not give Amanda the same crouch speed as GF and give Michael a 115% movement speed while in Tier 1?

Why is significantly nerfing Michael's stealth ability without buffing other aspects of his power the only possible response?

  • I'm not really into them; to me they look really out of place on the Sacrificial Hooks and they're almost unnoticeable on Survivors.

I also don't like how they seem to exist as just filler for the Rift. I mean, there are like 4 color swapped Trapper icons and 5 color swapped leaf icons and quite a few of them are just perk or menu icons.

IDK, I guess I'm just not impressed or that interested in them.
