  • Slugged Survivor moans, gen sounds, and the Hatch noise are all super wack.

I can hear slugs from halfway across the map (I'm not kidding) but have them be completely silent when I actually get near/on top of them.

Same for gens; I turned my camera away from a 90-ish gen and it became totally silent. I was also using Surveillance. :|

  • Bloody Good - 3 (counting the test game I did to see if hook hits counted)

    Mechanical Obsession - 1

    Got You - 1 (Coxcombed Clapper on Léry's + a Dweet :J)

    Brutal Breaker - 1

Darkly Obsessed - 1 (Furtive Chase + Nemesis)

    Agitated Advantage - 1

6 Feet Under - 3 (Someone DC'ed, but I finished the hooking animation in time)

Hungry Jaws - 1 (I got 5 through normal play, and let the last two left live in return for stepping in traps)

Claudette's Determination - 3 (Thanks for crouching 10 meters away from the hook while I was camped with Kindred, team. I really appreciate it)

Not sure I'll bother with the rest tbh. Solo Survivor isn't fun lately, given queues can be from 5 to 10 minutes.

There will never be anymore events. Just themed generators and hooks for more bloodpoints. I don’t know what feedback the whitering blights should give.

That's why I put events in quotes.

Hopefully they crank the ambience up to 11 and have more than just themed generators. Even if they're never going to do Event currency or exclusive Event cosmetics ever again they could at least put some effort into making the game look and feel different during the 'Event'.

But I know that's being too hopeful.

  • Pay-to-win? No thanks.

  • Maybe there are legitimate technical reasons that make this more difficult than it seems, but it does kinda feel like being kicked while you're down after no Summer Event and a very meh Halloween 'Event'.

The next Lunar New Year 'Event' better take some of the feedback from the Withering Blight and be amazing.

    It doesn't give you nothing.

The survivor on the hook i'm sure got triggered by it, so there is something.😉

I let them go after my little 'experiment' XD

They were probably more confused than anything else.

  • @Toybasher said:

I think a long time ago you used to be able to apply on-hit effects via hook hits. Like with Billy's original begrimed chain you could hook someone, then chainsaw into them a bunch of times to make them do gens super slow as back then the effect stacked with itself. With enough chainsaw hits you could make survivors actually regress generators instead of repairing them.

You used to get protection score events and WGLF stacks if hit while on hook too. XD

I'll test your question @Dr_Loomis; be back soon.

Tragedy of tragedies, this is not the case. Hitting a hooked Survivor gives you nothing.

hadn't actually thought about that but for haddonfeild and the game they need to rework those maps anyway so they could add a second basement somewhere in that map for example for haddonfeild they could add it to the house across the street from the original basement spawn an for the game they can just make it spawn at the other corner of the map from the basment

Fair enough, those maps do need looking at. Although that would mean Monstrous Shrine couldn't get reworked until they actually bother fixing those maps and that could take... a while.

monstrous shrine i would make it to where it just spawns both the basements so if its going to be a basement perk make it the best basement perk there is

What if the map is Haddonfield, The Game, or another map with only one possible basement spawn?

Wow okay so I actually made a fan made chapter and I suggest you check it out because that Vigil perk rework may look familiar :o

    NVM I found it.

Friendship is similar in that gives a "free" bodyblock, but it doesn't have a cooldown, has a larger radius, and requires the Survivor using the perk to be fully healed.

Great minds think alike I guess.

  • Almost always. Especially if they flashlight, tbag, or point at me a lot (you read that right) or have cute cosmetics.

Sometimes I'll let multiple Survivors go too; if their teammates threw the game for them or if I get everyone too fast (0 kills and 28k bp > 4 kills and 16k bp).

  • Are girls allowed in this thread, or is it guys only?

Jokes aside, I'd like to see Vigil, Monstrous Shrine, and Sole Survivor given reworks.

    Monstrous Shrine

    • All empty and working hooks emit a 8/12/16 meter Terror Radius.
    • (Hooks holding Survivors or that have been Sabotaged stop emitting Terror Radius; so Borrowed Time won't always proc (unless you basement hook someone) and Survivors can Sabo to deny the Terror Radius effect)
    • When a Survivor is hooked, you become Undetectable for 30 seconds.
    • The basement no longer spawns a chest.

Combo with Infectious Fright for ultimate slug potential or Dark Devotion for "where the heck is the Killer?"

    Vigil

    • You and fellow Survivors within 8/12/16 meters of you recover from all timed status effects applied by the Killer's add-ons or their perks (including Exposed) 50% faster.
    • Injured Survivors within 8 meters of you benefit from the Endurance Status Effect.
    • If an Injured Survivor is hit and uses the Endurance provided by Vigil, you recieve a Protection score event and you cease providing Endurance to Injured Survivors for the next 180 seconds.

Vigil actually helps you look after your teammates now and has a noticeable effect on status effects without breaking Exhaustion perks.

    Sole Survivor

    • Whenever another Survivor is hooked you gain a token after 15/10/5 seconds.
    • Any time your aura or location would be revealed to the Killer, a token is expended and your aura is instead concealed for 5 seconds.
    • When your aura is revealed to the Killer you are notified.
    • (Premonition sound effect)
    • Increases your chances of becoming the Killer's Obsession.

Sole Survivor is actually worth using now. Hide in a locker the first time someone is hooked and you can counter BBQ's aura reading. You also know when the Killer can see your aura if nobody else gets hooked. Distortion still has a place as it hides scratchmarks, lasts 6 seconds, starts with tokens, and isn't an Obsession perk.

What happened afterwards: Jason stayed dead after Megan Garris snapped his neck with the motorboat's propeller. His spirit trapped forever in the waters of the (death) cursed Crystal Lake. Tommy Jarvis recovered from the trauma of what happened and eventually started a support group for the survivors of other slashers villains with one Nancy Thompson.

Adam Palomino, Brandon Wilson, Deborah Kim, Jenny Myers, Mitch Floyd, and Vanessa Jones were all killed in gruesome ways at the hands of Jason Voorhees. Kenny Riedell was found hiding in a closet by the police officers and EMTs who arrived at the site of the massacre.

Tommy was successfully rehabilitated and became a functioning member of society; eventually writing a best selling book based on his experiences. Kenny never recovered and had extreme PTSD for the rest of his life. Tiffany never fully recovered from her injuries and spent the rest of her life in a wheelchair. Victoria suffered no legal consequences for Tiffany's injuries and never worked a day for the rest of her life, thanks to her immense wealth. A.J., Chad, and Eric honed their skills at killing slasher villains and became the scourge of all horror antagonists everywhere. A.J. also started all female punk rock band; The Nightmare Warriors. It had a significant cult following, but never became mainstream. After an unlikely encounter, Chad and Ash Williams became friends. Eric LaChappa created an unofficial sequel to Zork III.

Well, if the Entity can erase people's memories and restore them to their original state, that begs the question: Why doesn't the Entity erase the memories of the "burnouts" in the Void who have totally succumbed to despair, so it can keep feeding on them?

I didn't say the Entity would erase their memories.

I said that when/if they escape the Entity and it's realm they might lose memory of what happened.

Think 'It Chapter 2' if you've seen it or 'The Chronicles of Narnia'. Their memories of the place fade away after they leave it.

But if the Entity could remove or alter memories there's no reason for it to do so on those in the Void if it just doesn't want to.

It has all of time and space across potentially endless universes to pull people from; it wouldn't even necessarily be more efficient to "reuse" drained people when it can just take new ones.

  • I enjoy Killer. I could care less whether I face SWF or not.

What I don't like is facing Survivors who sandbag each other. It really grinds my gears.

  • Quentin because I'm an insomniac myself, I love his outfits (BEANIE!!!!), he was an awesome character in the NoES remake (the only highlight in that sucky movie), he gives me goth-y vibes, and because he was the first Survivor I unlocked all teachables from. I love Wake Up and still like to use Pharmacy despite the unnecessary (IMO) nerf to basekit Emergency Medkits.

Nea because I love her, mostly androgynous, fashion sense (also BEANIE!!!!) and I've had a ton of fun games as her. She also seems really cool from her lore.

As for Killers; Huntress and Legion. Anna has such freaking bad ass lore and I just love Legion's aesthetic and lore.

  • She's already bugged to do this.

Just don't fix the bug and we're good.

  • It's impossible anytime soon as the ownership rights of the original NOES, including the character of Freddy Krueger, has gone back to Wes Craven's estate.

(Read more here if you're interested/don't wanna take my word for it.)

Meaning anything done with NOES would have to have the agreement of both Wes Craven's estate and Warner Bros.; which seems to be the reason Freddy and Quentin have no cosmetics and aren't available on Switch or in the Nightmare edition of the game (ironic lol).

ALL THAT SAID, if Quentin could look more Kyle Gallner's portrayal of him and less like how he does in DbD I would be immensely pleased. He was my favorite character from the Remake and is one of my main Survivors.

  • I can't answer for them, but I got it done by running NOED, Bloodwarden, and STBFL, and not killing anyone until the EGC starts. Once it began I slugged someone with NOED and camped their slug.

Everyone had that Last Minute Hero challenge at the time, so I knew they'd be greedy for the unhook. And if a person came to heal the slug up, with max STBFL, I could just trade slugs.

Once the timer got down low enough I hooked the slug near a gate and walked away. They were instasaved, and everyone died to the Entity thanks to Bloodwarden.

Since Last Minute Hero isn't needed by everyone, you might wanna wait to do this vs a SWF, since they'll probably be greedy to save everyone.

  • I was facing a Tombstone Myers.

My team and I hadn't been potato, and we'd denied his Tier 3 for 3 gens, but he got it as we finished the 2nd. Me and a Meg worked on a gen as he killed one person and then another.

We finished it as he started coming for us; Meg Adrenaline'd one way and I Urban Evaded another. I literally crouched past Michael and made it to a Gate.

As I start opening it, Meg dies and Myers' Terror Radius starts playing.

He comes in sight, and I'm still opening the door.

He's barely 15 meters away as I open it, and I only barely run out before he can reach me.

It was the game that made me really fall in love with DbD; it actually felt like playing a horror movie, Wake Up; I'd have died without it, and Nea; the Final Girl of that match.

It is an organic being, and seems to not be the only one of its kind, which means that it likely undergoes evolution via natural selection. As such, there would be great selective pressure to take the weakest prey (unknowledgeable of you) and manipulate them most effectively. I don't think the fact that it does this necessarily confirms it's intelligent

I think the existence of Offerings, the perk Whispers, and The Hag confirm the Entity as an intelligent being.

It is capable of communicating as well as being communicated to. It operates on more than just animal instinct and can be bargained with.

Medkit with broken charges. Best joke I've heard this month

It's still WAY better than Self Caring and doesn't take a perk slot.

If using medkits without charge addons really bothers you just run Bond or Inner Strength instead.

  • Her addons need major changes. That's not a matter of debate. Most encourage tunnelling trapped Survivors or have unnoticeable or RNG based effects on her Jigsaw Boxes and aren't worth using. She needs more addons for her Ambush and more addons with reliable effects.

IMO her basekit crouch speed should be increased and her Ambush lunge should let her fast vault pallets and windows during the attack. It'd help make her less of the M1 Killer than she currently is without being inappropriate to her character or style.

Finally her RBTs need a rework. Survivors can get free instantly or die because of factors outside of the control of anyone playing, and I don't think that's fun or healthy design for either side.

  • You must hate Hillbilly.

Oni is far from broken. If you take issue with his blood tracking bring a medkit or Inner Strength.

If you're worried about his instadown/slugging, just use lockers when he activates power.

There are ways to survive him, but giving up won't help you and complaining won't help you.

  • @Raptorrotas said:

Ever met a survivor intentionally get himself killed once he could escape? It's such an rare even we dont even have killer's demanding to be handed those pity kills. While survivors....

Yes actually. I've both met people like that and been that person.

It does happen, even if it's less common than Killers giving Hatch.

  • It depends on the mood I'm in, but I almost always give a free Escape to the last person because I enjoy doing it.

Even if they were a tbagging P3 Claudette who tells me "GG EZ" after I let them crawl out because they tried to wiggle free (true story) I feel good about it.

It's not their reactions I care about, although I do appreciate people who say "Thanks", I just like being nice.

  • Just play either of the Swamp maps. Despite it's rework, half the hooks spawn against the wall, meaning that if The Killer doesn't run Hangman's you can end up with huge dead zones after just one sabotage or sacrifice.

  • The Undetectable status effect, and it's inclusion in Demo's kit, is just so the devs didn't have to animate her traversing the Upside Down for potential Survivor aura-reading; change my mind.

How come they didn't just make them unstack able instead of reducing the numbers? Not mad just wondering the reason for this? 🤔

Because the devs forgot they can do that.

Seriously though, I have no idea. They could have done it to Nurse and Legion to fix their respective add-on 'issues' rather than nerfing their basekit.

And it would have been a smart move with these add-ons in particular, allowing them to be worthwhile individually, but not oppressive together.

Still, I'm just glad they didn't nerf Freddy into the ground. I kinda expected it after Legion's "buff".

  • Forever Freddy was a strong build.

Those addons together were disgusting, it's true.

But you know what else is disgusting?

4 Survivors all using Commodious Toolboxes with Socket Swivels and Clean Rag with Prove Thyself.

Not everything that is very strong needs to be nerfed into the ground. Forever Freddy was beatable through teamwork, good looping, and focusing on generators, just like genrush builds can be beaten by 3 gen strats, tunnelling, and slugging.

Read the hotfix notes. They are nerfing Freddy's slowdown addons. This thread is pointing out that they are ONLY nerfing his slowdown addons.

Contrast Legion where they saw a problem with HIS slowdown addons and.... nerfed his basekit stall for some reason.

That time they spent in F tier together really must have forged a strong bond. /s

    That's for the best.

Nurse is a broken killer and should never have been introduced to begin with.

Oh don't get me wrong, her old state was absolutely unhealthy for the game.

Nobody should be able to get an almost guaranteed win in a PvP game because they learned how to play a difficult character.

Old Nurse needed to be removed. I just wish they would have reworked her into being both a fun and a viable character, instead of simply nerfing her.

  • If that makes you a veteran, than I'm a veteran too.

    So I say yes.

Absolutely and totally not biased, BTW.

  • She's far from weak or garbage, but she's definitely a lot weaker and less fun to play.

And this is coming from a console player; I can only imagine how painful she is on dedicated servers.

I wouldn't even put her A Tier anymore. Sure her power denies looping, but she suffers considerably from any mistakes and no longer has half as much map pressure.

Honestly, nobody has any reason to ever play Nurse anymore unless you're a masochist, like I am, or just really like the character. Spirit does anti-looping better.

  • @Ksoni said:

It may be because of dedicated servers. If you swing immediatelty after leaving stealth, sometimes you won't get your speedboost, and it really hurts.

I've noticed this on console though, and we don't have dediservs yet.

  • I know; even when he's not one of the four Survivors up there.
