No but, seriously please stop acting like BHVR doesn’t do so much for their players. It’s ridiculous.
It’s because of entitlement.
There isn’t as much free stuff as previous events. I.e. directly earned from the Halloween event.
They’re ignoring every other free thing from rifts over the past 12 months.

I’ve been messing around with it, mostly due to the terrible PS4 frame drops at the moment, and here are a few times it’s been great to have it equipped:
- Those pesky times you need to let go of a gen and a skill check coincidentally pops up at exactly the same time.
- The frame stutters I’ve mentioned.
- Madness T2.
Yeah the extra regression sucks, and it’s a big compromise, but i’d rather prevent giving away my position.
-
I suffer this same conundrum. I feel like I’m getting worse with my mains other than Clown. Played for years, keep practicing, humbly try new things and new strategy to broaden my skill set, but I feel like I’m getting worse at the game because of how stomped I get by survivors.
I feel so shoehorned into only using Clown, because to me he’s the only killer I stand a chance with.

Title: Which Perk or Perks, to you, would still not be OP or maybe not even strong after you remove its cooldown?
RULE: NOT cooldowns of Status Effects, ONLY the cooldown of the Perk itself, like how Dragon's Grip can only be triggered once every 80 seconds. (On Perk level III.)
- I say Surge would be just fine without a cooldown.
- Windows of Opportunity as well.
- I'm not sure about Make Your Choice. I would say it's OP if you could unhook an unlimited amount of times in a trial, but since it's limited to a max. of 8, which can still be denied by unhooking close-by or by not getting hit in the next minute, i'm not sure.
- Play With Your Food easily.
- Maybe Dance With Me?
- Maybe Blood Echo? (Don't use it enough to say yes or no.)
- Maybe I'm All Ears?

And maybe getting blindness may be too much of a nerf, because it also would affect them seeing team mates and nerf other aura reading skills. It may be better if OoO simply turns off while interacting with anything and doesn't turn on for 5 seconds afterwards.
It’s such a great idea. Especially when using a gen aura to block your own is OoO is currently at it’s most powerful.

- Hmmm, enough threads were about how unnecessarily PGTW was nerfed, and how the reason for its nerf should also mean DS should get nerfed.
- I've seen a post questioning if WGLF even got an update, as they claim it could already obtain Tokens in the "new" way.
- I think @TheClownIsKing made a post on new Discordance, sorry for tagging you if i'm wrong.
- Multiple people agree with you on Thanatophobia.
- @TheClownIsKing loves Forced Penance even more now, i know that one for sure.
- Hex: Huntress Lullaby is mixed, one doesn't like that it's just healing & repairing now, the other likes that the warning isn't there immediately.
- Technician is now seen as less appealing for new players, as many mistakes will lead to much more regression.
That's about all i can remember right now.
Nope on Discordance, but yeah I love Forced Penance. Already did, but love it more now. Maybe I get so much use out of it because survivors still don’t treat Clown as a threat?

I feel the same. I never touch the gen I spawn close to. I usually totem hunt and survey the locations of gens. But, I can guarantee 9/10 games they ALWAYS focus on gens on one side of the map. I even see it in my killer matches where they will 3 Gen themselves without me even trying to get them to do it.
I always repair a few seconds of the closest gen to my spawn point, then leave to find a more central gen.
My hope is that when the killer comes across it they waste time searching the area for someone that isn’t even there.

The main problem is, that they encourage the best survivor playstyle, don't heal and rush gens.
That’s the point of FF. It forces survivors that would otherwise not heal to be mending instead. I.e. survivors avoiding healing to save time are forced to waste time doing a healing type action anyway.

Nope, Still affects ALL skillchecks, including Overcharge, Madness, Decisive Strike, Jigsaw Boxes, and even Pyramid Head Cages. Sure it requires Terror Radius Proximity to affect them, so maybe that's why they are leaving it alone while nerfing H:HL, either way, I'm as surprised as you are, all things considered.
Oh ok. My mistake.

Just because they’re revisiting/reviewing Fixated doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with it. They might not change anything about the perk. They’re simply going to be checking whether it’s fine, or needs some adjustments.
It’s healthy that the devs want to constantly review older content.

- If they don't get the RBT off of their head before the timer runs out, it kills them.
- Pig can bodyblock the jigsaw boxes to ensure an RBT will kill a survivor.
- Jigsaw boxes skillchecks are affected by Unnerving presence.
- She's stealthy.
- If she has 2 or more survivors with ticking RBT's she can focus on the survivors doing gens instead which stops survivors from doing them efficiently, resulting in slowing the gen progress to a crawl, and hands her an easy win.
- RBT's = same slowdown as "old" Ruin, except it can't be destroyed in the first minute of the match, and it's her base kit so it doesn't take up a perk slot.
"PiG OP, pLZ NeRf!"
I thought like Huntress Lullaby they changed Unnerving Presence to only affect gen and healing skill checks?

We get 13 Outfits in this rift.
-6 outfits are from the mobile version

-1 is the community made legion skin
(The concept of the skin was really cool and exciting but the execution feels quite underwhelming)
-6 outfits are new
(I'm very disappointed by those skins. These are supposed to be the selling point of the battlepass yet they don't really feel special or exciting at all. There's no wow factor,no thoughts like "damn those are some really awesome skins".
Anyone else that has the same feeling about this?

I thought long and hard about making this post. Over the last few days I've been called a shill (by someone who doesn't understand the definition of the word), a "suck up", and apologist, and a White Knight. My crime was to have the audacity to say that I wasn't upset at the company, and that I think it is a bit unrealistic to always expect free things. I think they are a business, and already seem to give an enormous number of things away compared to other game companies I'd dealt with. It suffices to say I was not keeping to the party line. I want to put in context my own personal interactions with the company since I started playing (rather recently):
- The game didn't cost much. I bought in during a sale, and every time I've bought something there was another sale, so this may be the least expensive online game I've every bought into.
- They gave me a lot of free stuff right from the start. I came in during the last Rift, and while I didn't pay for the upgrade, I got a lot of free cosmetics just for playing the game. I thought that was pretty cool.
- I had a melt down when I had a very bad sport of a Ghostface dropped me right next to the hook when I was the last Survivor. Instead of hooking me (or waiting 60 seconds to hook me), he proceeded to dance around me and tea-bag me for the entire time until I slowly bled out. I had video of it posted it forgetting to hide the offensive guy's name at the end of the video. I got a warning (and rightly so). It was delivered to me politely and in a professional way. I was still angry, white hot as we used to say in the day. But they didn't take offense to me in private and clearly understood my concerns. I give them big ups for that. The Moderators have to put out a lot of fires and I think they are extremely even-handed when they do so.
- They kept giving me Blood Points. Over the last 1-2 months I have been given over 2.5 Million Blood Points via a direct gift from the company for inconveniences, as well as a large number of Codes. I can certainly say I was happy to get them.
- I'm a bit of a "pot-stirrer" on the Forum and the Moderators have leapt into action and fixed some of my oversights (I do TRY to abide by the rules but we all fail from time to time) and have reached out to me in a polite manner every time. They really don't get enough credit.
- I had a problem when I bought Monitor & Abuse on the Shrine when it appeared a several cycles back. While unlocked it was not showing up in my Blood Web. I reached out to a couple of different places, and the Moderators sent me to the correct one. The issue was clearly a bug and they have, as of TODAY, fixed it. Monitor & Abuse has showed up in my Blood Web! But on top of that they still gave me some more BP and refunded some of my Shards for the long delay and trouble. I didn't even ask for that.
- Not a day goes by that I don't watch this company, that has done nothing but treat me and mine extremely well, get savaged, defamed, called liars, cheats, and greedy. They do this without taking public offense, and are quite professional about it. The only bans I've witnessed were people who clearly broke the rules and were unapologetic about it. It seems you have to do a lot to actually get banned. I should know; remember I told you how I broke the rules earlier and was educated. So I give the company a lot of credit for taking far more crap than I would. They seem superhuman when it comes to patience.
- Then this event started and all hell broke loose. I'm not going to rehash it because it is still going on and we all know that the company took a few days and addressed it. We didn't express our concerns politely. We did it in a rude, obnoxious way. If it had been me, I wouldn't have given us anything. They still went back and gave me MORE free stuff. They addressed it. Again, I was impressed. I base this on a frame of reference that includes dealing with a lot of "actual" bad, greedy companies.
- And in response, what did they get from a fair number of posters here? NOT ENOUGH! WE CAN'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS! Yadda... Yadda... Yadda. Me? I would have just changed my mind and taken it back. Not them. Again with the patience.
- So I sit here, with my new Dwight-Crow that I just got from a a Streamer code and feel lucky. I know not everyone gets one, but I'm SURE.... POSITIVE in fact... that within a few weeks they will find a way to let everyone have one. That is just how they are wired. Hell, they might just give them away at the end of the darn thing. So judging by all the upcoming free stuff already announced... just for me playing the game... that I would have been doing anyway.... BHVR seems like Sandy Claws (if you get the Nightmare Before Xmas nod).
That is my context. So with this in mind, do you see why I am puzzled, annoyed, and well embarrassed by all the ruckus and noise? Thank you BHVR for being generous and far more patient than I would have been. I suspect there are more people like me than you know; many of them probably just don't frequent the Forum or simply don't want to get tarred and feathered virtually (or called Shills) for saying, "hey... I'm having a good time... thanks for the stuff."
Thanks for your perspective.
And for the most part I agree. BHVR cop far too much undeserved flak. They have slip ups like ANY studio does when continually adding new content to a game.
Entitlement on this forum has been present for years, and has gotten worse over that same period of time. Sadly i suspect it’s BECAUSE of all the freebies that has bred this entitlement. It’s a problem that has always been present in consumerism. Sure there are those that express genuine appreciation for free stuff, but for the most part when consumers haven’t invested their own value in gaining a product, they don’t place value on the product either, and it just breeds a growing expectation that there should be more they shouldn’t have to pay for, at the complete dismissal of what others have done to produce those products in the first place.

I used to be an old Freddy main as well, and he really was truly weak.
Sure, he had some underrated aspects, like his slowdown, aura reading and invisibility but he just sucked.
He had nothing to chase with, and it was far too easy to get out of the dream world.
He really did need a rework, because he literally negated stealth and took it out of the game, and was extremely unfun to play against whilst being the worst killer in the game.
”and it was far too easy to get out of the dream world.”
This was kinda the point though. The aura reading, although extraordinarily useful, and the direct action penalty, were “red herrings”. Old Freddy is meant to be intentionally playing around this knowing that the true stall is survivors wasting time waking up (or ruining their own repair progress). Hence why it was so simple and easy to put survivors to sleep again, so that survivors have just wasted their own time and now need to do it all over again. Repeatedly.
-
@TAG it’s also worth noting that @thesuicidefox proposals and conclusions are borne of comparison from being both a seasoned old Freddy main and a seasoned current Freddy main.
Like thesuicidefox i mained both versions of Freddy, and the devs went too far and bloated Freddy’s kit. It’s been echoed on these forums before by other old Freddy mains that the rework is too much.
-
I’m also an old Freddy main, did very well at red ranks, and I agree with almost everything you said.
I loved old Freddy, and I genuinely wish they’d never changed him. (Only true dedicated old Freddy mains would understand why).
Thematically, the rework was excellent. Gameplay wise, he’s a bloated unfocused mess.
I’m gonna take a big stab in the dark here that a strong factor in doing the rework was that purchases of The Nightmare on Elm Street DLC weren’t great, not enough to justify the licensing costs anyway. And I’d also guess that a significant influence on far from optimal DLC purchase was word of mouth. I.e. the far reaching perception that Freddy was a weak killer (which was far from the truth).
Anyway, nothing reinvigorates interest and purchases of old DLC like a killer that significantly increases the players chances of winning a match.
You are right. Current Freddy has WAY too much. Particularly Swing Chains, Outdoor Rope, and Jump Rope. These are outdated add ons. Freddy already has built in stall and lots of reasons to motivate survivors to regularly wake up to help stall the match. Add ons with built in gen slow down are unnecessary, and are a relic simply to appease old Freddy mains.
His Snares are definitely far too strong. I.e. not enough restrictions and drawbacks.
Here’s what i’d change:
- make pallets base kit, and Snares as an add on. Why? Because although pallets can be significantly stronger, survivors have much more reasonable ways to deal with them, and Freddy has to plan around them. Spamming them mid chase isn’t going to give Freddy any advantage against whoever he’s chasing. Unless they’re stupid and beyond help. Pallets base kit would free up more freedom with add on combos in conjunction with pallets, and Snares as an add on restricts what add on combos he can use.
- Repair debuff add ons need to go.
- Significantly increase his teleport cooldown for each awake survivor, but reduce his teleport cooldown for each dreaming survivor.
- Dreaming survivors cannot be affected by curses, only awake ones can. This would dramatically reduce a little of his oppressiveness if it’s WAY more risky for a Freddy player to use Hexes.
- Here’s a bit more controversial idea. What if passive sleep occurred faster, BUT hitting survivors actually WAKES THEM (or resets their passive sleep timer if they’re already awake)? This way we don’t have survivors that have just been injured put into a more hopeless situation with Snares already spammed around a loop they’re circling.

-
Isn’t that the whole point of that hook?
To make Thompson House an extremely dangerous place to lead a chase near, or in?
I thought that the stairs can be body blocked was 100% intentional, and survivors are meant to be aware of that, and not recklessly lead a chase near there, or be too bold about the gen upstairs if they know the killer is nearby.

These guys
I'm not saying it's bad or toxic, it's just annoying. Like you are being disrespected and not taken anywhere seriously. Survivors playing like this really make me want to bash them into the ground. Anyone else?

@AChaoticKiller said:
This perk is the best info perk in the game due to its range and constant effect. i believe limiting the aura reading while changing the way you and the killer's auras are revealed to each other is a good way to balance this perk and make it available for solo players as well. here's the rework idea.
Object Of Obsession: If you are looking at the killer's direction and they are outside 16 meters and within 32/40/48 meters the killer's aura will be revealed to you for up to 3/4/5 seconds. when not looking in the killers direction or you reach your limit object of obsession goes on cooldown for twice its active duration and can't be activated again for at least 3 seconds. during cooldown the killer can see your aura outside of 16 meters.
Object Of Obsession becomes deactivated if you are on a hook, in the dying state, or you are no longer the obsession.
so how exactly will this perk work in a trial? if you look at the killer within its range you will see their aura until you reach the maximum limit which is 3/4/5 seconds before having to wait at least 3 seconds to use the perk again which recovers 1.5 seconds of usage from the perk . During this time the killer doesn't see your aura until after the perk goes on cool down. when the perk is on cooldown the killer see's your aura no matter how far you are unless you are within 16 meters.
this means that you can have information on the killers location for short periods of time at a reasonable distance with the cost of having them know your location for twice that duration up to 10 seconds. players who use this perk can use the 5 seconds it is active to get closer to the killer to hide if they get within 16 meters or to see if the killer is going to them. However you also run the risk of losing this perk if someone else becomes the obsession and the perk now no longer works if you are incapacitated.
This is definitely a step in the right direction, whilst still making sure there are inherent risks running the perk.
Another suggestion is it also needs to stop acting like a pseudo Spine Chill if the killer is Undetectable or if they’re Blind. It’s still too much info. They changed Sole Survivor to stop lighting up everytime it blocks the survivors aura because it was too much info given. They need to make the same change to Object, so that the perk ONLY lights up if it is in fact revealing the killers aura to that particular survivor.
-
Probably a broken mess due to all the absurdly biased suggestions that don’t consider the opposing side.
Oh and way way too many shirtless characters.

I´d find it incredibly hard to believe that they think Object is fine. You´d have to be severely intellectually challenged to think that way, the DEVs aren´t that stupid, are they? No way.
The reason they probably think it’s fine is because there ARE already 2 counters: Undetectable & Blindness. It’s just that those options are limited or not very viable.

Because in particular circumstances OoO can actually be a dangerous handicap to the survivor. Undetectable and Blindness can make an OoO user very vulnerable.
Of course these are tools most killers balk at, and don’t like to use.

Then you open yourself to the opinions of others.
It is BS to message a person post game and tell them how to play.
But if you make a post on the forums, you should expect others' thoughts and perspectives.
Or are we just supposed to be "Yes Men" to each other?
I’m not denying that a forum opens up discussion on criticism and opinion.
But they were over the line in directly implying how I should and should not be playing, and in a marginally attacking way as well (which actually breaks forum rules).

Well you always get those arguments because they are true.
Firstly, if a surv knows what they are doing they won't run out in the open and start screaming then press dead hard early, no. Thats something someone who doesn't know what they are doing does. Instead, its supposed to be used to connect to pallets and windows. When used properly you can't "bait" out a dead hard because you aren't going to be in range to hit them and if you try you would either wiff, or eat a pallet.
Secondly, sure there are perks that will work and give you plays you could not of done otherwise, however this is universal and applies to every perk.
Its a SWF with flashlights trying to be toxic? Aw should of brought Lightborn.
Its two survivors blocking hook so now I dropped a survivor? Aw should of brought Mad Grit.
Ect this goes on and on, that's why sure sometimes this perk will help however ultimately you are just wasting a perk slot in the long run.

There is a difference between getting value out of a "bad" perk and winning with "bad" perks. You can win with "bad" perks by playing well or having not so strong opponents, but that doesn't mean that the perks were the reason why you won.
If you want to tell me, that someone does not do gens cause of the broken status effect and waits, then i have to ask you, if you've ever considered that this player may be someone who is only crouching and doing a totem every 4mins, i.e. not helpfull at all for the team?
Also you have to get the protection hit first to get valueof the perk and if you want to tell me now that you can get that strategically every time, then i have to totally agree with @DerpyPlayz, that you might not play against at least half decent survivors.

It sounds like a nice perk on theory, but it's one of those perks that's just no good against decent survivors. And not because they're broken - it's the lack of protection hits in the first place.
Although it I take so many protection hits for my team that I'm kind of glad most people aren't as altruistic as me, or maybe the perk would be a lot more common.

Good survivors won't heal anyways, in fact, since you're not encouraging them to heal, they are going to get the gens done very fast.
This perk is only good on stealth killers, even then, the requirement to activate it is way too niche.
This is insanity.
Are most of you trying to claim the competent red ranks abandon altruism altogether?!
So when any of you face what you claim to be decent teams they don’t attempt:
- flashlight saves?
- pallet saves?
- sabo the hook?
- Body block other injured teammates, or those they’re trying to heal, or those on death hook?
Because that’s the implication here: that presumably survivors of higher skill stop helping each other. At all.
Which of course sounds crazy, doesn’t it...
Also as for lack of protection hits, I do understand this train of thought. It wasn’t until I was using Forced Penance that it was highlighted to me just how often some hits counts as protection hits. I.e. it procs WAY more often than most think it would. The only (rare) game it hasn’t is when survivors don’t help each other at all. They also die quicker when they behave this way. Does that sound like competent survivors?
As for them running backs to gens because “what else can they do?” it doesn’t matter. Or I should say it doesn’t matter to me. Gens are more than the survivors objective. They’re a juncture point for more reliably finding survivors when a killer needs to enter a fresh chase. And for M1 killers if I’m to find anyone on gens, the preference is that they’re still injured rather than requiring 2 hits. Short chases matter just as much as gen stall matters.
In my personal experience being able to find, track, and successfully end chases quickly on all 3 accounts works just as effectively at stalling repair progress as the more meta methods.

Nope, a team that is really good likely wouldn't heal anyway to use clutch perks like Dead Hard, ect and to then chain it with a second chance perk.
A decent team will just do gens and loop you.
This would only work vs a team of incompetent survs.
Lol, I know how to bait a dead hard thanks.
I’m kinda tired of the whole “tHeY mUsT bE pOtAtO sUrViVoRs” vitriol just because I’ve found ways to make the non-meta perks work for me.

Being a Legion player, peoples natural response to me is to spread out so i will never see much value out of the perk.
If i had it on other killers i would definitivally keep it in mind for builds. Choosing not to heal as survivor is one thing. Being unable to heal even when it would be the best course of action in a situation is another
Exactly.
Nobody is crazy enough to stay injured if the remaining gens are in pallet dead zones for example. If they can heal or be healed, they will. Denying survivors that for 80 seconds here and there can lead to very quick downs.

True @TheClownIsKing those extra 20s of being broken is also a pretty long time in an actual match, the chances of finding someone is higher and then they are only one hit - I think a lot of people don't realise quite how powerful that is. A survivor who is injured is going to be less cocky about staying on a Gen if the killer is coming etc, because there's a lot more risk involved...so it definitely adds to the map pressure.
As divisive as camping can be, nonetheless it makes endgame hook camping much MUCH easier. Survivors attempting to body block a freshly rescued survivor, but someone else still ends up downed and hooked. The others can’t simply run somewhere safe to heal first and return for another crack at a rescue. They’re going to be much more hesitant in the same way NOED can change altruistic behaviour.

This perk definitely feels much better, before i never really got use out of it. From the time I hit the guy, I have to finish hooking the guyvim carrying and then look for the broken guy. Now it feels a lot better and I have a bit more freedom to use it
I’d never intentionally go out of my way to specifically search out Broken survivors. It’s just nice to know that I COULD find them on a gen for an easy down, or even if the broken status elapsed, still find them injured because they still hadn’t found an opportunity to heal yet.

I rarely see it used in matches tbh, I did wonder if with the change to WGLF that we might see more of this being used.
I think/suspect many don’t see the bigger impact of what Forced Penance does, and how it significantly shortens future chases. And even if the broken survivors aren’t found, they then need to waste additional time to heal if they feel the killer is enough of a threat that they shouldn’t remain injured.
