If someone's sabo'ing hooks, there's a good chance I'll stop hooking and start slugging everyone from then on. I don't know what kind of toolbox the survivor has, I don't know if they're running the Sabo perk. I don't know how many survivors may be sabo'ing, if it's just one or multiple. And I don't feel like wasting my time carrying a survivor to a hook only to have it sabo'ed as I get there. I'd rather slug and move on to the next chase. I may not get the hook points, but I don't really care about that these days. Anyway, at some point I usually get bored with it and go afk so they can finish gens and leave.
A killer has to make decisions based on the info they have. You know you have a brown toolbox; the killer doesn't. If your sabo'ing denies the killer a couple hooks, that could cost them the game, especially if the survivor manages to get off their shoulder before the killer can drop them. A killer doesn't have to be angry to slug. They could've thought it was their best chance at winning. Or maybe they decided to play eye-for-an-eye: you cost them hook points, so they took away any chance at earning points for making hook saves. And you don't know how many sabo'ers they may have had in previous games; maybe they'd had a few and were just tired of it. In this game especially, if someone is playing in a less-than-fun manner, it's often not because of one particular player but because they've had multiple bad matches.
Yep 👍🏻

Some people are pretty sensitive. Dont think too much about it, the majority of Killers is not like that. But apparently he does not like Sabotage, so he decided to "punish" your team for it.
Sometimes it’s not necessarily “punishment”. Sometimes it’s just adapting to the match conditions.
This killer might’ve presumed after seeing one survivor do sabotage, that every survivor will attempt sabotage. So why pick up any downed survivors?
As a Clown main I simply have to regularly slug. If it results in all 4 being downed at the same time, so be it.

This has to be an unintended bug.

The first one that comes to mind is fortnite, usually if there's something a bug giving players an unfair advantage they will disable whatever feature is causing it, if they can't they will ban the players exploiting it.
In a game like DBD it’s not as simple as turning off a feature.
It’s not like they can turn off “survivors inflicted with the dying state” until they can fix the exploitable areas survivors abuse to avoid being picked up.
Its not like BHVR are ignoring these issues. They’re probably still trying to implement reliable ways they can address these bugs, and in the meantime they’re free to issue notifications advising “blah blah is ban-able until a fix is implemented”

If a survivor knew about the tree, and had balanced landing in the current year I definitely wouldn't feel cheated, I'd commend them for actually knowing and using something that's kind of niche and very specific. Why would you feel cheated? It's literally like a 99ed sprint burst. Are you gonna tell me that you don't feel cheated when a survivor runs, stops for a split second and then zips off with SB but you cross the line at a survivor running up the roots of a tree and falling off?
I’d rather neither.
No killer wants to get in range of a hit after dealing with looping or 360’s, only for a survivor to suddenly zip off.
I’m just pointing out that tripping over a tree root and suddenly sprinting away feels like an unintended way to get BL to activate. It’s not “falling” in the same way it isn’t “falling” when each foot is momentarily off the ground with each step while running.

Uh,but it was the only spot (besides the stairs to the basement) where BL users could trigger it,which was always kind of awkward to do too.
Would rather take that than dead for distance tbh
As I said in another response, it shouldn’t be expected to use BL on every map, or get optimal use out of it, like Lithe.
If somebody wants more flexibility in their exhaustion perk they should go with SB or DH, but even they have their compromises.

It was quite literally the only spot on the map BL could be used at. Right now Shelter Woods is completely flat.
Exactly as it’s intended. That’s a gamble of running BL. You shouldn’t expect that it’s usable/optimal on every map, same as Lithe (for example, Rotten fields versus badham).
If you want more control over an exhaustion perk, you should be choosing Sprint Burst or Dead Hard, but even they have their compromises.

Why is it a dumb "exploit"?
It's not like survivors could hold the game hostage with it or something else
It just makes killer feel very cheated when a survivor falls down only 1 foot from a tree root, and then zips off. It feels unintended in comparison to other exhaustion perks.

It's still a buff to Sprint Burst for experienced survivors who already feather their exhaustion during chase. Even at 5 seconds of exhaustion, I pretty much have Sprint Burst on demand after one tile.
But you will STILL need to wait for your exhaustion to recover before touching a gen to take advantage of the 5 second feathering.
If you can’t see the stall this injects into a match, I don’t know any other way to explain that to you.

As i play a killer. This game is amazing. However, as a survivor....... This game is so stupid. I cannot outrun a killer. I can BARELY hide from the killer. If i am hit... i def. cannot hide. On top of this.. what the fu** is up with killers that can knock me down with one hit?. Over and over. really starting to make me want to quit this game.
You need to respect the killer more and play way more cautiously until you feel much more confident on the correct way to run tiles to keep distance between you and the killer.
Things like:
- dont immediately jump on the closest gen you see at the beginning of the match
- dont run everywhere
- be absolutely sure what you’re up against before deciding which gens to repair, and how to deal with the rest of the trial.
But even then, the game is designed so that the killer downs someone in a chase eventually if the killer commits to a long chase.

I've seen what they have said, and the points they make don't give the perk any good value, unless you are a green rank player
Here’s the thing:
Original Mindbreaker grew on me. I was using it together with Blood Echo. Dead Hard is extremely common across most games, or at least 2 exhaustion perks across all 4 survivors.
Do you know what I noticed when survivors started going down because they couldn’t use their exhaustion? The game stalled. Not quite as much as Ruin or Pop+Corrupt, but noticeable stall nonetheless.
My guess is survivors running exhaustion stopped taking the risk of pushing through repairs in the hope they surpass 50% before I arrived at the same gen, and were instead wasting time till their exhaustion recovered before touching any fresh gens again.
I highly theorise that these Mindbreaker changes will cause MORE game stall when survivors are running exhaustion perks.
-

It's fine if you don't see the value in the perk by not paying attention to the whole perk description.
Exactly. The 5 seconds of exhaustion is really just a “heads up” for survivors, kind of like curses/Hexes.
Original Mindbreaker grew on me because I noticed it could slightly stall the game. My only conclusion is because I guess survivors sick of being caught out exhausted while running an exhaustion perk were waiting till it recovered before touching fresh gens.
It’ll be interesting to see if these changes cause slightly more stall with how common Dead Hard is.
-
@xenotimebong said:
Yeah the 50% requirement was removed, I played against it and can confirm. The 5 seconds of exhaustion isn’t that big of a deal but the fact that it pauses exhaustion recovery while survivors work on gens at any level of progress is pretty big. It was definitely a significant buff.
This is outstanding.
Original Mindbreaker grew on me when I started using it in conjunction with Blood Echo. I noticed it could act as a semi stall perk, my presumption being that if exhausted survivors were near fresh gens they would wait until their exhaustion recovers. (because come on, how often do survivors NOT run an exhaustion perk?!)
I think this change will validate my suspicions that Mindbreaker can also act as a stall perk. Exhausted survivors will have to always choose between waiting till they recover so that they don’t get denied their exhaustion perk if chased off a gen, or take that risk during repair and maybe get down because they didn’t have their dead hard, etc.

nerf discordance, the only alright legion perk, now there is a maximum distance, for the cost of the killer having no idea how long a survivor has touched the gen (at least you can upgrade it to tier 3 and get positive effects than negative.
They also added a slowdown on top of the attack restriction for PH (it's fine for doctor to move at full speed, but not PH?)
Everything else is the same, they turned all macmillian estate maps from slightly killer sided to heavily survivor sided. All survivor perks they touched on this update has been buffed. The only perks they buffed for killer is so little it's barely noticeable.
Just another blatantly survivor sided update like the ruin change months ago.
I was all in support of most of this till your last paragraph.
Why oh why does this false insistence of Ruin being nErFeD persist?! Current Ruin is a nightmare to go against as a solo survivor (in comparison to old Ruin). I’d much rather be losing a small amount of progress on good skill checks, than be chased off a nearly completed gen and lose ALL progress because no body else jumped on that gen after me.

DbD players:"Can the PS5 run DBD in 1080p at 30 FPS?"
Lol, pretty much.
Although to be fair there have been periods on my PS4 matches have run between 45-60 FPS depending on the map, and what’s going on in the trial at the time.
I’ll cry of joy if PS5 keeps things at 60 FPS with exception to things like server latency or latency from other players (to be realistically expected still)

That part of it isn’t exciting. What I AM happy about is if survivors already having exhaustion, then it remains paused ANYTIME a survivor is working on a gen.

@gatsby said:
Now that Mindbreaker is in effect the whole game and doesn't stop at 50% gen progress, it's really a solid perk.
If you use your exhaustion perk and the Killer leaves you, you won't recover exhaustion while working on generators. And if you're greeding for a gen and leaving at the last possible second, you won't have your exhaustion perk to bail you out. It's very nice what more can I say?
Oh man I am so happy and relieved that this went live. Already being a regular Mindbreaker user, it can work as a semi-stall perk, depending on how important a survivors exhaustion perk is to them.
This change is likely to further validate what I already noticed with Mindbreaker: many survivors WILL wait for their exhaustion to recover before touching a gen again.

Honestly, I’m gonna love all the PS5 games I’ll play at launch, but if the first time I play DBD on PS5 there is no (or next to little) improvement in performance, I will just die inside.

Discordance has a limited range of 32/64/96 meters. At T3, the perk is basically unchanged since 96m is basically the whole map.
But discordance no longer spams the explosion sound, meaning the you need to actually look at the aura to see if the people got off the gen.
Seems like a fairly minor nerf, but still a nerf none the less.
That makes it in line with other gen aura reading perks. Seems reasonable to me.

I keep telling myself “only 3 more weeks till PS5. Only 3 more weeks till PS5.”
and “please please PLEASE run better on PS5. Surely it will run better on PS5?!”
Yeah, sure there ARE PS5 games I can’t wait to play, but the naive hope of DBD running better in PS5’s boost mode is my main motivation for getting one.
Oh mighty god of video games, I pray to thee. Please let DBD have tremendously improved performance on next gen. Please 🙏

Neat, I bet this works very well against Object players that don´t actually look out for the Killer. Sry, this just doesn´t cut it against seasoned players.
That’s a Wraith problem, not an OoO problem though. OoO isn’t going to handicap Wraith anymore than Wraiths existing handicaps.

Then the team (or just him if he's alone ) will focus on clean the totem . It'll be destroyed likely in about 1-2 minute. Then you'll be hopeless and withouth a possible perk. You can camp the totem but then you'll be genrushed. It seems you don't have many alternatives but chasing him to death. Now imagine you are a hag.The Ooo player can also fake you the running direction. Good luck with the chase.
I think no one mentioned but it's a huge problem for wraith too. All his stealth (which is the only thing he has) just gone.
Ooo should have never existed though. But let's accept it won't be removed. Then the player carrying ooo perk should be affected by a slow vault and speed effect , let's say a 10-15% so there 's a fair exchange: you risk your self but you gain incredible important information. In addition it would be balanced to have a cooldown.
Wraith?!
His aura is hidden while cloaked (Undetectable). And to avoid the OoO user having their perk light up, you deal with that the same way as Spine Chill: approach gens and survivors at an angle.

Third seal is an awful perk, and having to use a perk to counter another perk isn't a fair counter, because matches don't have a pre determined outcome.
It’s not awful. It’s a tool that can be used against a survivor strategy that’s clearly bothersome to many. If OoO is really such a problem, and the perk pops up regularly, blind them.

I think the only other character who gets that much s--t is Claudette.
And now that some stuff for the next tome leaked, people are all too gladly comparing Max Sr to Caleb cause they vaguely have the same beard or something? And guess what, a-holes have already come and declared this to be prove that Caleb sucks and that everyone who likes him is not worthy of living (I'm not kidding, some people sound like effing facists when talking about Deathslinger players/fans)
Cut it out.
It’s terrible isn’t it.
This isn’t so much a Deathslinger thing. It’s more about how passionately many players don’t like losing, and many lose to Deathslinger.
I get similar messages after my Clown games. Probably because the only thing that first entered their mind at the beginning of the match was presuming the match would be easy. I get a LOT of DC on deathhook, followed by vile messages.
I feel very satisfied when I get Sony’s follow up reply “we’ve reviewed the message in question and found the content is in breach of our code of conduct, and have followed up with the player in question”

What kind of future do you think there are for exhaustion perks? We haven't gotten one in a while, since Head On I think, so do you think we're going to get anymore? Personally, I would like to see more interesting ideas for exhaustion other than "haha surv go fast", and I kinda think they've exhausted that area. Maybe like a "light on your feet" exhaustion perk, you don't leave scratch marks for a set amount of time, get exhausted? It's not exactly a meta perk or anything, but it would be interesting for niche builds.
Your idea really is the last thing they can do with exhaustion for survivors. Other than speed, dodging, and stunning the killer, removing scratchmarks (or other tracking) is really the last thing that can be done.

Being outdone by perks aint fun and those that kneel in front of hooks so you cant use it are a flecking nuisance.
I tend to find hook blocking funny. They’re usually downed by me, and whoever I was carrying gets hooked anyway. A complete waste of their time.

To be honest most of the times I can't even tell if a group is swf or not, I think in general we have to expect to have bad games from time to time.
There are fun and unfun players at every rank, in every role, swf or solo, I don't think you can just generalize.
Also to be fair I don't check profiles and most of the times I don't even pay attention to the names in the lobby, I usually select my offerings/addons/perks, press ready and tab out until the game starts.
There can be some tells.
Probably the most 100% indisputable evidence they’re SWF is when using Franklins, and quickly returning to a dropped item to see a different survivor attempting to retrieve it.

Hmm.. it’s a difficult question to answer because of how subjective it can be match to match.
The only thing I can honestly say is that they’re damn hard work, but usually pretty predictable, and immensely satisfying to beat.
They usually send the most ridiculous messages too.
A few days ago I was Clown on Wretched Shop, running no add ons, and Bamboozle, Coulrophobia, Deerstalker, and Sloppy Butcher. I currently do a lot of slugging right from the beginning of the match because it’s one of Clowns few pressure tools. I don’t have much difficulty having 1 or 2 survivors down on the ground at a time. Anyway, last 2 survivors, both on death hook. I down an Ace, and immediately chase the Claudette that wasn’t being particularly discreet waiting nearby with her flashlight. Mid chase Ace DC, and Claudette is able to immediately jump into the hatch.
Whatever....
Anyway they both send a message, both along the lines of “ez, git gud noob” “Clown can’t win”.
I almost spat my coffee while laughing hysterically.
Umm... yeah... I was “stomped” lol 😂

Don't forget that you still have footstep sounds (especially on certain maps like swamp or red forest),sounds when you move through grass etc.
They did say that they were encountering Spirit with Stridor a lot while trying to do the No Mither challenge.
If they’re adamant about persisting with attempting the challenge, may as we’ll pair it with Iron Will. Say what you will about No Mither, but there is no denying that the No Mither + Iron Will combo against a Spirit running Stridor gives the survivor a distinct advantage over other survivors that can still be heard.

I've been playing with Red Herring for a little while trying to decide between it and Diversion, and today I had a match which proved the enormous amount of potential the perk has, so I wanted to share this experience:
It was against a Hillbilly with Tinkerer and we were only 2 remaining, stuck with a 3 gen. It was a hopeless situation, but then I had an illumination: generators "marked" by Red Herring stay marked until you start repairing another generator, but what the description doesn't say is that it's true only if you repair the other gen for at least 3 seconds. So I marked one of the gens, and started repairing the furthest one in short 2s "bursts", so that the other gen stayed marked. At about 70% I activated Red Herring so that the killer checked the wrong gen and I had enough time to repair mine. Unfortunately the other survivor couldn't make it, but I escaped with a whopping 32k (yes, I kobed earlier).
I don't think any other perk could have turned such a hopeless situation in my favour, and now Red Herring entered my favourite perk club.
Red Herring is a great perk. It’s a genuinely reliable distraction for the killer. It’s even BETTER paired with Dance With Me when stuck in a real bind.
Hear the TR? Get in that locker to give off the notification, then burst out of the locker and disappear while the killer confusingly checks the locker.
-
I always do the tutorials of any game.
-
No Mither + Iron Will 100% counters Stridor. Just make sure you’re playing extra cautious that you don’t end up in chases to begin with, but she absolutely CANNOT hear you unless you’re in the dying state.
So when you’re in a chase, juking her shouldn’t be as difficult because there is no way for her to track you while she is phasing, provided you’re not leaving scratchmarks or disturbing crows.

Silly adding an entire perk for something that is such a non-issue.
Your argument makes no sense, you list valid reasons why (at times) when a survivor 360s that you can't hit them. IE camera glitch, or snap on causing you to hit a near object, ect. However, you should be vouching for fixes to this things, NOT for a perk to disable or make 360ing harder.
Its for these reason I think you are not being honest with your reasoning and that you likely genuinely think that 360ing is unfair.
Good grief...
I’m not necessarily vouching. I’m conceding to the fact that devs usually address issues via perks.
With that in mind, my question is why doesn’t a perk addressing this exist yet.

It’s getting harder and harder to tell what’s sarcastic, and what’s genuine anymore.
So in the spirit of benefit of doubt I’m gonna presume your complaint is genuine. Without Spine Chill, you should really only be get off guard by Wraith once. After that, knowing you’re up against Wraith, this should significantly influence which gens you work on, and at which angle, so you can always see him coming a mile off.
Wraiths Shimmer is very easy to spot, and quite frankly it’s a HUGE handicap that needs urgently addressing.
Smart Wraiths will ALWAYS approach gens (or known survivor whereabouts) via the most LoS blockers available, so don’t work or hide where you’re surrounded by lots of LoS blockers.

Since the devs still can’t fix them for whatever reason, we either need a perk to help us out or to nerf 360s (Survivors would blow a gasket if this happened though, every communication outlet with the devs would be blown up with salty Survivors).
