A lot of perks are abbreviated or turned into acronyms here on the forums for ease of typing.
BBQ = BBQ and Chilli, a Leatherface perk.
Another example is instead of typing Save The Best For Last, it’s more common to see it referred to as STBFL.
Farming = more focused on earning points rather than playing fair, or properly. Farming can sometimes be survivors and killer working together to each earn as much points as possible. Farming can sometimes mean a survivor being a complete jerk doing an unhook in the killers face just for the unhook points.
Tunnelling is something a killer can sometimes do. It’s short for “Tunnel Vision”, where a killer focuses solely on one survivor and ignores all others until that particular survivor is dead.

Hex: No One Escapes Debt:
A Hex rooting its power on hope. You are animated by the power of your Hex Totem when the Survivors are on the verge of escaping. Once the Exit Gates are powered, if there is a Dull Totem remaining on the Map, this Hex is applied to it.
While Hex: No One Escapes Death is active, your Movement speed is increased by 2/3/4 %, and any Survivor injured while Hex: No One Escapes Death is active has their Bloodpoint totals sapped and transferred to you at the end of the match. Applicable bonuses apply to the final total Bloodpoint count.
The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem is standing, and if cleansed, returns the Bloodpoints to their original owners.
"And the beast became faster and more powerful as if The Entity's shadowy whips were lashing at its back."
Lol, I actually think survivors would hate this MORE than normal NOED.

Any perks that lowers your TR is not a good perk (unless it's the addon that increases TR when Static Blast is ready but lowers it when Static Blast is on cooldown)
That’s totally incorrect.
That only matters in the exact moment Doc wants/needs to use Static Blast. Otherwise it’s a non issue. In Docs case in particular survivors expect/predict a larger TR on Doc, so lowered TR or Undetectable is even MORE effective on Doc compared to other killers.

Yep, do you have any idea what should I use instead of Tinkerer? I tried Thana and it was okay I guess, now I'm testing Brutal Strength.
Remember that the point of the build, and how Doc keeps getting easy hits, is to keep the survivors as constantly confused as possible.

No, Tinkerer is a good substitution for Dark Devotion. But Dark Devotion is better. You CAN use it with STBFL. You only lose 2 tokens from hitting them, in return for getting 30 seconds of undetectable whilst The Obsession confuses everybody else with their 32m TR for 30 seconds.

I tried what you suggested, although I cannot use Dark Devotion as I need STBFL, cause it's part of my "basekit" and BBQ is too good too, Bloodpoints wise. This was my first match, and I chose indoor map. I replaced Dark Devotion with Tinkerer, although Tinkerer isn't really perk that I like a lot, and not sure if it is needed with my perk/addon build.
Lol, yep. So many survivors think Doc is hacking or cheating when using M&A + Calm Together. It really screws then up.

Hex: Better Together.
When you repair a generator, all other survivors become cursed with Better Together. Survivors cursed by Better Together are compelled to lead chases with killers running Ruin towards your generator.

I feel like they should give tutorials for each individual killer, or at least a practice mode to try out the killer before you plan on buying it, because why waste your money when you don't know the killer in question could be bad and not for you.
That could potentially hurt BHVR financially. Just look at past PTB’s and initial reception of some killers. Initial impressions are usually not positive, with Deathslinger, Spirit, and Blight of particular note. These are killers that are viewed as quite good, but it took time for opinions to reach there. A try before you buy approach would have hurt this DLC’s immensely and we would most likely not be seeing any of those killers online.

Can you play a game against bots or only text? First one would be really helpfull for practicing loops, but text is just not necessary, the game is pretty much selfexplained.
There’s both text tutorials and help, and playable tutorials for survivor and killer.
The playable ones are bare bones, covering an absolute minimum.
The text help though is mostly very good.

I don’t get gen rushed. He’s fine. Clown only needs some very small minor changes.

Bubba: Self explanatory
Doctor: Im *pretty sure* that doctor can just span stock therapy on the hook, and the hooked survivor can never be unhooked.
A-Tier: Killers that can easily avoid borrowed time
Freddy: Just M1 the savior, and tada! no more BT!
Hag: Just spam traps near the hook and teleport back the moment the survivor is unhooked. The survivors will be forced to crouch, or trigger the traps and die.
Wraith: No TR
Ghostface: No TR
Pig: No TR
Myres: No TR/ or a VERY small TR
B-Tier: Killers that can stop the unhooker from getting too close, or able to hit multiple survivors
Huntress: M2 into an M!
PH: M1 into M2. Or just an M2 face-camp
Oni: Has a multi-target instadown
Hillbilly: Has a single target instadown
Plague: Most survivors will be broken, making them all instadowned
C-Tier: Nothing special, just has a slightly smaller TR, so it makes it easier to avoid BT, but otherwise doesnt really have too much to help him hook camp. Spirit should be here too, but i messed up and dont feel like fixing it.
D-Tier: Every other killer. They dont have much to help them camp hooks.
Doc can’t spam Shock fast enough to stop an unhook occurring without Discipline add ons.
Clown shouldn’t really camp the hook, but he’s MUCH better than Doc at preventing an unhook from occurring with direct hits until he runs out of bottles, which usually ends up tricking survivors into falling for a grab if he fake reloads afterwards.

@Sonzaishinai said:
Does the tutorial even tell you the killer get's notified .it's not exactly the best tutorial.
Better question is why don't people not search out a simple guide on youtube.
So many 20ish video's on youtube that completly changes the way you play the game
If they’re not prepared to do the tutorial already presented to them from the main menu screen, they’re unlikely to be the kind of person that expends energy hunting YouTube.
And yes, as inadequate as the in-game tutorial is, it still covers things that will give killers a notification.

Not a guaranteed duration of 200 seconds. Gens don't pop one at a time. If 3 gens pop at the same time you only get 40 seconds not 120.
Still pretty good, mostly because of the no warning sound and not having to waste time to get to a fountain but let's not oversell it here.
My bad. Forgot about that.

So basically its 1 fountain that you get once per match, spread out by gens, that also reduces the time of the fountains you normally get for what? Its pretty useless for a ultra rare but isn't the worst add on. It should be purple IMO
It reduces CP duration to 40 seconds.
That means a guaranteed CP of 200 seconds throughout the match, even if no one cleanses, and even if Plague doesn’t use the one free fountain.
I think it only reduces her m/s to 110 too (while CP is active).
The drawbacks are small compared to what Plague gets in return. It’s one of the few insanely powerful iridescents in the game, considering a gen usually pops when somebody else is drawing you away in a chase anyway. Oops, they’re in trouble now.

Personally I enjoy playing as and against deathslinger, but seeing as many people despise playing against him I have come up with what I hope might be a good change. Feel free to let me know what you think.
- Increase ads to something like .5 seconds (Similar to Demos Shred)
- Increase his range to anywhere between 20 and 25 meters
- Add a slowdown when exiting his ads similar to huntress (this prevents the easy zoning he gets from entering and exiting his ads)
- Increase the time it takes to break his chain
Now I know these changes would just make him a terrible version of huntress which is why I think he should also have this as a buff:
He could shoot at an object and use his chain as a grappling hook to pull himself over there fast. (this would hopefully make up for a weakened chase and his lack of map pressure) This ability could also be used to cut people off before they get to loops. I think that if he shoots an object he would need to hit m2 to grapple or m1 to swing and break the chain (This would be to prevent him from unwantedly pulling himself into an object he didn't mean to shoot).
The grappling hook idea would make him a GOD on Haddonfield and Saloon.
-
I have. I’ve been running all of Steve’s perks, and Soul Guard. I really enjoy these perks.

It seems like most Killers don’t like good old fashioned looping anymore. They’ll leave you at the drop of a hat if you’re playing good and camp you like crazy if they can tell you’re playing bad.
Killers with anti-loop spam that stuff so hard it’s like they’re allergic to looping normally. Huntress, Doctor, Pyramid, Freddy and Billy players will go around and around for ages trying to use their power, when they could’ve just looped the standard way, ate the pallet and moved on. It’s actually crazy.
Are most Killers unconfident and rusty with their traditional looping now or what?
Sometimes it’s just a tiresome, mentally draining part of the game.
Its why I play Clown. So I don’t have to put up with extended looping.

I could be wrong since I don't really use him but he moves slower than survivors while using it, he doesn't turn quickly either and each shot takes a second to fire. I don't think any shots after missing really makes too much of a difference other than rate edge cases.
Nurse moves slower than survivors.
There were complaints. A LOT. She could spam her power all she wanted, the fatigue wasn’t enough of a punishment. It didn’t matter how many Blinks she missed, chased survivors weren’t getting away.

Players who play killer, how do you feel about people giving advice at the end game chat?
Lets for a moment pretend that you and I played a match together and regardless to how it ended I gave you tips on how I felt you could play better, would you be upset with that?
I only ask because I had a match with a nurse that ended pretty badly because she decided to focus on me only and that ended up costing her the match. When I brought this up to them, I was told that they "didn't ask for my opinion" and that it's "rude to give advice to those who aren't asking for it."
It wasn't like "Get gud scrub stop chasing me loser" but more "I think you would do better with nurse if you didn't chase someone for too long and instead switch targets when you know you aren't able to down a survivor." It wasn't said out of malice or hatred but simply because I enjoy helping good killers improve.
From my point of view, when I play as killer, I love being given tips and advice because it lets me know what I'm doing wrong and what I could be doing in order to improve.
What do you guys think? Do you find it toxic or rude?
They’re going to be the exception rather than the rule, and were likely still clouded with game rage.
Most players will gladly welcome advice, and even if they don’t, most will usually politely say “thank you”

Yeah. Chances are that if the PH misses they're not going to be able to hit you with a second, third, or nth shot with the normal turning speed, except rare circumstances. It sounds more fun for both sides.
There might be a balance issue of the PH taking the shot and missing then with no long cd animation they get right back on the survivor but they could just add in the 1 second delay that they already have for cancelling PH's power. Even then I'm not even sure that's required.
PH power quite literally makes obstructions irrelevant. If PH had zero cool down on PoTD, we might end up with a broken mess like old Nurse.

Bamboozle doesn’t need a nerf.
If a survivor realised the killer is using Bamboozle and the killer vaults, they need to leave the tile. Survivor keeps looping? that’s on the survivor.

I literally tried to post some sort of a guide on Anti-looping with the chainsaw but the forum decided to collapse and delete everything so I will make it quick:
Anti-looping with the chainsaw comes down to these factors:
- chainsaw speed (affected by addons)
- chainsaw range (affected by addons)
- chainsaw control (your ability to avoid objects, corners, edges etc. while curving closely around everything)
- chainsaw charge timing (consuming the charges too quickly may reduce your range significantly)
- map knowledge
- and your ability to recognize weak pallets that can be anti-looped.
Example of a pallet than can be anti-looped effectively:
Long story short: Anti-looping is mostly about practice and experience.
As for builds I personally don't run any regression perks (anymore) as I think Bubba's snowball potential can make up for gen speed but you can obviously run them.
Enduring however is really not necessary as you can force down most pallets with his default chainsaw range anyways.
Bamboozle is obviously good on him as it's a synergy perk.
I would swap BBQ with Infectious Fright as it's another synergy perk that vastly increases his snowball potential.
Example (will be added later on):
Forum does this to me often as well. I always do my draft in my notes app first now, then copy paste

It wouldn't make a difference honestly but it would be hilarious to watch. I might actually play killer to just spam it for fun. Just make sure to lower the noise it makes and make sure it can't hurt the same survivor twice within 2.25 seconds or whatever the cd it has right now.
So it can be spammed?
-
Sounds like an unintended bug.
-
Usually Coulrophobia because of the amount of slugging I need to do as Clown.
-
The reason those things usually don’t work is because most killers are suspicious enough to recognise that as a bait, and so will instead try to find or determine what you’re trying to distract them from.

The crossplay between next gen and current gen consoles worries because of the devs’ track record when it comes to consoles. We never got the PS4 Pro and XB1X enhancements. What if the game is so poorly optimized that even the PS5 and XSX, the two strongest consoles, struggle to run it? I don’t want to (and shouldn’t) have to opt out of crossplay again for the PS5 just to have a somewhat fair match.
My suspicions are that they never bothered with current gen optimisation because they’ve been throwing all those resources into next gen.

And theres also Hex: The Third Seal if you’re that bothered by OoO.

Yeah. I know. Look at me, I'm an idiot. That's crazy talk. Stop having reasons to play Spirit, to play Nurse, to run DS/UB or OoO with my friends? What's this guy on about.
But please: It's okay to run strong things.
That's it. There doesn't need to be a reason, an excuse. You might well have one, but you don't need to. At all. In any way. Your reason is totally fine being "I want to win." There's nothing wrong with that in the slightest. All the rest, all the victimisation and the blaming of the other side, it's just causing this community to divide and rot. It's not the survivors fault you're playing Pyramid Head. It's not the killers fault you're running DS/UB. It's yours. You wanted to. You wanted to be powerful, to bring in the good stuff, and that's okay.
But this insane, constant need to justify ourselves, it's just alienating everyone. Not every killer tunnels. Not every survivor runs UB with their DS. And trying to claim that they do? Trying to tell them that it's their fault? That they are the ones ruining your day, despite you having never played them in your lives? That's hurting everyone.
It's okay to run strong stuff. You don't need any other reason than that. You don't need to justify yourself. Just do it because you want to.
And side note, please stop making me constantly remember to mention a problem from each side of equal magnitude. I'm very tired and it hurts my brain. Sometimes I talk about survivor, sometimes I talk about killer, and not remembering to do both all the time every day doesn't mean I've completely forgotten the other.
Applause 👏🏻

It’s a controversial topic, but my games improved dramatically once I adopted regular slugging. In fact I slug straight the gate. I.e. the first survivor I down I usually slug, and try to quickly find someone else.
This is especially true if I spot another survivor straight away after any downs, or I know for a fact that others are in the area. As a general rule I like to try a one on the ground, one on the hook, one in a chase strategy, meaning 3 survivors are occupied unable to work on gens.
As you go up higher and higher in ranks, the time spent picking up a survivor, then carrying them to a hook, and then actually hooking them, is time a killer can’t afford to lose EACH and EVERY time a down occurs.
Another strategy is when seeing survivors together, I injure as many as possible before committing to a chase with one of them. The goal being that perhaps the injured survivors out of a chase will preoccupy themselves with healing each other.
The main takeaway here is try to always think of ways you can waste the OTHER survivors time while you are in a chase with another.
One last thing. As tough as SWF are (and they’re aggressive on PS4), they’re also very predictable, and you should already be able to guess their perks very early in the match.

But bamboozle is a perk without a CD AND an additional boost. Blood favour is a hex with a CD.
So i'm pretty sure it'll get a massive buff soon.
You can’t Bamboozle a vault 16m ahead of you before reaching it.

Yes. That’s probably a more fitting name.
-
I still stand by that post.
Mom just saying that I believe the devs are being careful, and conservative on their decision of how Blood Favour currently operates.
There are maps, and certain zones in some maps where Blood Favour is brilliant. But like Bamboozle (and to a much much lesser degree), Blood Favour can serve no purpose in some areas.
-
Personally I really like Blood Favour.
BUT....
Here’s what I would LOVE for it to be changed to:
Allows the killer to break and remove standing pallets. It would still need to have a cool down. Possibly longer than its existing cool down. But it would definitely increase Blood Favour’s threat level, and get survivors more urgently searching for the Hex Totem knowing the killer can instantly break god pallets on god loops before survivors can milk several laps out of it.
-
@Todgeweiht said:
I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, I really did, but its just not good. I kinda like it on deathslinger, but thats it.
I like the concept, its the first perk that actually helps in a chase (maybe NOED and Devour do too, but not in such a unique way). The problem is that it is just so absolutely underwhelming.
So lets see whats wrong with the perk
- Does not activate on hits with secondary power (WHY!)
- Has a ridiculously small reach of 16m, half the average terror radius. Survivors can just hold W aand cover 20 meters in the time your (thats why STBFL makes it kind of okay)
- it lasts only 15 seconds, too little to get much value out from in closed structures like the badham homes and lerys.
- It is a hex, which I dont usually consider to be a problem, but goddamn this perk is just not worthy of being one
And its most important problem:
- IT
- HAS
- A
- COOLDOWN
- WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY
- JUST WHYYYYYYY
Cant you guys find creative ways of balancing perks instead of just slapping cooldown on everything? Its getting pretty tiresome. The perk is already pretty underwhelming, the cooldown just kills, no, MURDERS it.
I just hope it gets buffed in the future.
Judging by the recent changes to perks from the past few chapters, I’m gonna guess like those listed perks, they are erring on the side of caution with Blood Favour, and are monitoring its performance closely.
I’m gonna guess it’ll be reviewed by next mid chapter.

I actually would like to play stealth sometimes but that's not possible from my experience because killers have too many aura perks, tracking perks, (ie. strider on spirit). I think all these aura perks, tracking perks, gen slowdown perks, are too powerful on a fast killer that can end chases quickly especially. Survivor needs a counter perk to turn off aura perks to make stealth an option. Right now there is no counter to such, just got to be a beast at looping or you are going to die very quickly.
Distortion, Off The Record, Sole Survivor.
Sole Survivor is much stronger than most give credit for. Not that a survivor should HOPE for their teammates to die, but let’s be real. Any killer that has a clue at what they’re doing is likely to kill at least 1 or 2 survivors by mid to late game. Sole Survivor has saved my skin a number of times against A Nurses Calling, I’m All Ears, Wallhack Myers/Wraith, Bitter Murmur, a Plague relying on Black Incense, Blight with his wall hack add ons. SS has been the difference between me getting found, or me getting the hatch or opening a gate. The only thing I wish SS still did was light up when your aura is being blocked, letting you know when it’s working, and provide help in figuring out what aura reading the killer is using.

Killer is harder than I thought! I always feel bad if survivors end up escaping and then the bad feeling just gets worse so I play worse 8(
I'm taking to watching Otz but I don't know who else to watch because I'm a survivor main, my main issue is pressuring gens and missing during my chases (I'm not sure what you mean by macro play, please explain!)
Don’t feel bad. Killer IS hard sometimes.
It’s necessary to learn ways to end chases fast, know which chases to abandon, and pay attention to where survivors are trying to lead you (usually away from the gens)

Don’t even get me started...
I don’t run add ons most of the time, and I don’t really use gen slow down perks on Clown.

The thing to keep in mind with that hex combo versus Pop, is that it doesn’t matter if the Hexes get cleansed. It still will have caused the survivors to waste a lot of time.

I didn’t hesitate to put a deposit down. Couldn’t go back to sleep after that. A little over 3 hours later get another email from them that first day launch shipment had been sold out nationally and any further orders were for 2021 shipments. Lol, and even THOSE sold out by the end of the day.
I was very lucky to have been awake already, and that I didn’t hesitate.
