We regularly hear from low rank randos about how rank doesnt matter.
The truth however is that is does. The gameplay is far different at rank1 than rank15. At rank1, you deal with far more skilled players on both sides, who are bringing better items, using better offerings, and i see moris at least 50% of games.
The harsh reality is that the average player is bad, real bad. the majority of our population plays between rank10-20, however humans dont do well with thinking they are average. Its far easier to play at scrub ranks and tell themselves that rank simply doesnt matter, or that rank1 just isnt fun, which actually translates into “i get less points and survive/kill less at rank1”.
The result of all this, is that you see well known and even sponsored streamers DCing to play at rank15, because they can convince themselves and their followers that this is where the game is “fun”.
fun, means differnent things to different people, but for people who play at rank1, we play for a challenge, not SWFing down rank15 killers. if we didnt play for a challenge, we would be deranking to earn more bp per game with easier wins.
people need to start supporting actual skilled players, not these deranking scrubs. if the person youre watching is DCing, or running SWF and bullying low rank killers, stop supporting them.
if you like watching survivor gameplay, find some solo survivor, preferably one who plays with no items or offerings, or no perks even, and watch them. you will learn more, see better gameplay, and ultimately be doing right by the game and its community by not supporting bad streamers.
on a more personal level, if youre a player, stop DCing. get to rank1 and play there. your achievement for “getting there” means nothing. actually play there, for the rest of whatever season, and the next, and the next. you will be better for it.
if this thread makes no sense to you, or is offensive, then you do not play at rank1. you may have got there during a double bp farming event for the achievement, but you clearly arent playing there.
Also, just literally playing the game will give everyone rank 1, you will also lose it the first game that depips you at rank 1.
Also, zero rewards and zero leaderboards. Rank is more useless than no mither. -
I played survivors to 15 and stayed on them until i could get the adept achieve from each.
Then i played them all with what was left of addons and whatever perks to 20.
Then i picked a killer and tried each one out a couple times, no points yet.
Bbq and chili felt like, and really did become super good on everyone, so my points went to him first to unlock it.
I played each killer to 40 after that, most liked to least liked. Then same with survivors.
Now im prestiging my nurse which starts everything over again but still lots of fun.
Dont be afraid to use whatever or trying something different. Im using every addon and offering i got on everyone and pumping nurse my favorite. -
Overwatch did this although no real reward system. It did have an impact on the community.
However, if it doesnt include swf somehow it would probably not be so enticing. This game has primarily swf community. -

If a wild claudette is in her natural habitat, you can leave a gen and stay behind a rock for a few seconds.
Kinda useless perk though, but watch EVERYONE reports to leatherfaces basement to get visual on insidious. -
Only problem would be swf voting for each other. Would help give people a reason to chill.

Just got all killers and survivors to 40, so ill be playing nurse almost exclusively. Gonna give it a shot at least once when i hit a game thats way too salty.

Looks like garbage, they have new developers but i think the legal issues are still stopping any updates.
But meh, free horror game ill still download and try it. -

Thats a problem though, they just want to trash talk no matter if the game was good or bad. A billy hung me in the basement today. A quentin unhooked me, big terror radius, quentin runs for the back locker, i was just kinda meh and pointed at the hook when billy came.
Instead he went over and hit the chest, so i crouched and pointed at the first front locker. He runs to it and opens it, no one there. Did a 360 butt dance and pointed at the second locker. He checks it, another 360 butt dance. I beckon him upstairs.
Got him to check one more locker upstairs and he bashed me down then left me bleeding. Went back down, quentin healed me back up, both did a little 360 butt dancing pointing at the lockers.
I got to die last that game. -
@The_Fallen_Utopia the speed boost has been really nice, to me he just still isnt a good mindgame type killer, hes very much a quick first hit then back into chases.

I dont waste time on anything but gens when i play survivor, and i pop every totem i can find.
I dont expect anyone to go easy on me if i didnt bring ruin when i kill. Just gotta get in there and do what a killer does... Chase a survivor through a bunch of pallets until they run out.
As frustrating as seeing a pallet closeby over and over again in a chase, it is very satisfying to watch the other survivors run to all the broken unsafe pallets their buddy used up. -
I found the best games come from sleeping a couple before even chasing one. Just raise havoc and confusion, before anyone starts getting injured. He gets a bad rap, he does need tweaking. However he is very deadly and frustrating with a little practice.The_Fallen_Utopia said:@Terrortot funny enough.. some people have actually made it work on Freddy and actually made effective builds out of it. I know Overcharge Freddy is a meme.. but I may run it as part of a build to slow the game down. Combined with Huntress Lullaby, sure you could get a free escape from dream world but that generator will lose quite alot of progress.

He is absolutely fun, usually i sleep and ignore the first survivor which gets the game rolling.
His ability is extremely fun but i understand how a base 7 seconds to sleep is a hinderance. Cant wait for his makeover -

Ive been using haunted ground, ruin, bbq together. Does wonders for tracking and slowing gen progress.
Ruin is great, its bad placement that brings it down. -

I would prefer a horror experience every time but if a survivor is equal to a killer balance wise, i can get that from a royale game.
My biggest issue is from being ######### by a game labeled survivor horror and progressing to a competitive royale.
This game has the potential for infinite entertainment, but not survival horror if a survivor doesnt care.

I guess ps4 is a whole different animal than pc.
I have done consistent 3-4k with her in red ranks.
The traps are just to buy time, i think i have had one go off via timer and one survivor go through the exit gates with one on....lul
It definitely slows the game though. -
Im a killer mostly, on ps4.
Games were confusing at 15-10 starting out new in the game, 10-8 ish was the swf r1 with lower ranks and bully games.
Rank 4 and up have actually been quite nice, maybe either better understanding of the game, better use of perks and addons, better pool of players or all of the above.
I learned to dodge the 3-4 man flashlight crews and all is well. -

I usually wait for the hands to go up when they are unhooking to be sure i get a grab instead of hit, then drop them on the ground and keep camping.
Only end game though, when exit gates are powered/powering. -
Yes bbq and chili works on every killer, can be hard to unslot it tbh. The bp bonus is really good.
I usually run ruin, bbq, distressing, unnerving on my doc. Just spam shock on first person to madness t3, hook and go to next person rinse and repeat. -
Bbq and chili is all you need. Get your 4 stacks.
Doc uses distressing really well and easy to max your deviousness with his shock treatment, but it gets boring real fast. -
This doesn't happen with swf though. Let her see survivors. Some players are great with the hearing and watching, its the biggest challenge on her.
I believe it would be better to drop her normal move speed and force her to use her ability to catch survivors, rather than somewhat unlimited speed plus blindness. -
You also dont have to technically play leatherface, you can pump him with bp when you feel like it for bbq and play something else.
I have almost all teachables unlocked from playing my favorites and using bp on others. Then when im ready to try them, they are at 40 with good addons and perks to slot.
Definitely grindy, but doesnt have to be if you know who you want to play. You could always save shards from leveling and wait for a certain perk in the shrine to get it that way. -

I just played gens and stayed away when there was terror radius, dont do saves.
Took a couple games, need a good team to handle a no mither. -
Best thing to do is wait for it to be just you and another left, look around for hatch if it spawned, if not get somewhere safe.
When the other guy gets hit and escapes, wave at him to come let you heal him. Instead, fail a skill check and then run from him.
You could try using pebble as well.

As far as killers with legit bad connections, you can see it in lobby before game so its kinda on everyone who stays for it. -
Its obvious on ps4, cant move yet everyone is getting insta hooked.
Usually happens as soon as gens are done. -
I do it a couple times to the first hook, sometimes they put themselves into second stage.
The last hooked survivor, its satisfying to hit them and nod. -
I would suggest playing each survivor to lvl 15 and get the adept achievement for each, then get the teachable perks you want from there.
For killer, i would suggest getting bbq and chili from leatherface first because it works on pretty much any killer and great bp addition.
Hex ruin can he useful from hag, monitor and abuse is very useful to be stealthy. I would suggest unlocking at least those 3 then pumping your favorite killers to at least 40 until you have the perks you want.
