- They are using the frosty eyes cosmetic
- They are pretty terrible at the game
- They camp REALLY hard
- thats pretty much it, if they're awful at the killer they are playing expect a fat noed. Even with hag and the ranged killers
-
He's also kinda not fun to play. its incredibly frustrating to miss a hit with his bugged lunge, or get nothing out of your pathetic power. He's just not fun all around.

Your MMR isn't 0. The system has been gathering data since killers were locked into lobbies.
I hate people using this excuse. We KNOW thats not the case, everybody KNOWS your MMR doesn't begin at 0. if its been gathering data then why are so many peoples games completely broken? Shouldn't that gathered data be going to proper matchmaking like they said it would? The matchmaking is awful and needed more time in the oven.

If you live in the west, your value is based on competency, the ability to negotiate, and market averages. Not everyone is worth the same and not everyone is equally valuable. You might not like that idea, but that's how a lot of the developed world functions, regardless of how it makes you feel. BVHR (or any company, really) should not be an exception to this way of doing business.
I don't want to pay market averages for subpar products. If you don't have the drive, talent, will, or desire to give me my money's worth? Find another industry or starve. If I'm paying an agreed upon price for a functional product with minimal defects, I should get that. If I don't? Give me my investment back. If your work is poor but you're charging just as much (if not more) than market average, then no, you shouldn't make any profits.
The fact that you said what you said is mind-blowing. I respectfully disagree.
Thats why im thankful everyday i don't live in the fire and brimstone most humans call "the west"
-
The portals leave a residual sound of electricity even after dissipating. always end up falling for it too, really annoying bug.
-
When pinhead teleports, you'll hear a loud "Thud" as the box grabs onto the survivor that opened it. When he finishes teleporting, he'll emit a directional audio queue of a clock hitting midnight. You should be able to hear the clock sound if you're within a small radius around him, but its mostly only useful to the person who opened the box, since it allows you to determine the location he teleported from.
-
It could use several buffs. I think its generally agreed upon that hes just clown with passive mini bottles. Lament config doesn't really waste survivors time that much unless they let it get REALLY bad. He works like clown, but with a bit more "finesse"
-
Character arc, proud of you corn
-
His passive is actually obscenely strong if you pair it with the iri lament config and devour hope. Once the chain hunt starts, survivors will struggle IMMENSELY to cleanse your devour totem. If you are actively patrolling the area as well, they can kiss their butts goodbye since you have a 30 meter "instant interrupt" attack you can perform. The totem will basically become uncleansable, its a super cruel but quite effective build.

That right there is the problem (indifference).
I care about the community getting what they paid for...the customers that help them have that job.
Using your logic that is like if I go for a whopper with everything and they give it to me forgetting the lettuce, tomatoes, and condiments.
Why would I be happy with a substandard product I paid for...any person would rightly go and get their order corrected.
Call me a commie but work is work. Pay should be give equally to all regardless of the quality of the product output. I want worse games made by better paid devs who are allowed to work less and im not kidding

So how do we ever know if it is actually working as intended? The devs can claim it is, but we have no way of verifying that for ourselves.
Normally i'd say thats tinfoil hat conspiracy talk. but CSGO doesn't show the MMR ranking and yet everybody enjoys it and says it works well. BHVR is absolutely NOT making an MMR that good, and it would be very unsurprising if the MMR was hidden because they aren't confident in how stable it is.
-
I've also felt really incentivized to leave as early as i possibly can. Every time i die (Even if it was because i was saving somebody from a facecamp, or other nuanced scenarios that aren't really a "loss") i still get paired up with people who are clearly way below my skill level. The system encourages you to win at all costs and sacrifice your teammates in the process if you ever want to enjoy the game. Get facecamped? Enjoy being paired with a bunch of rank 20 leon mains! I hate it, the system is not nuanced enough and does not take into account enough possibilities to be effective. Losing to an infectious+starstruck nurse should not make the system consider me a bad player.
I Don't like being selfish. But i can already feel the impact MMR is having, and i know other players are too. if you aren't playing selfishly as a survivor, you are actively jeopardizing the fun of your future matches.

PTB was open only for PC for one week.
Are you saying that, though there are material changes at live release, that that one week of exposure to the new killer, ignoring changes and the live environment experience, is enough for people this killer? Seems shortsighted to me.
Yes. DBD isn't a ######### chess game, its an incredinly simple asymmetric game. it is VERY easy to tell whats going to be good and what isn't off short impressions. Whats ACTAULLY hurting this game are people starting threads like this implying they have some kind of gigabrain intellect that we just can't see. This game is simple. So equally so the opinions we formulate on it will be fast and simple. its not that complicated.

Nah, man, it's the same non-sense people tend to push with weak killers. "There's a secret technique with them that takes thousands of hours of dedication and testing to figure out."
I'm sick of the small minority in this community that treats DBD like this hyper complex fighting game that requires new content weeks to breath and work itself into the meta. The reality is that this game isn't complex enough to require months of study before we know which killers/perks are going to be top tier or terrible. As he currently stands, Pinhead is a horrible killer, and that's it. Without quality of life changes, fixes, and some small buffs, he won't ever be good.
Thats what i was saying. The fact the OP is calling people out for a "lack of patience" despite pinhead very obviously being a terrible killer is completely disingenuous, as we have had weeks to formulate the idea that he sucks.
-
"lack of patience?" He is nearly COMPLETELY unchanged from his PTB iteration. We've had several weeks to get a feel for him, its not like people are formulating these opinions solely off a day 1 release. To imply they are is to be very disingenuous.

They use to have the livestreams reading feedback so they did one of those things at one point.
Big emphasis on USED to. They USED to come on here a lot too, they just don't anymore. THey have become exceptionally alienated from their playerbase.
-
Implying they do either lmao
-
Absoloutely, any method of practicing without having to verse actual players is very appealing.
-
I care about devs, as long as they are happy and being paid well i couldn't care less what product they make. But i can't deny that i am very disappointing with the hellraiser chapter, i had so much hope and belief in BHVR because the resident evil chapter was pretty ok. Hellraiser was the big one, the one the community had been waiting forever for. And pinhead came out undercooked, buggy, and lost all his signature charm.
I hope the devs are happy, i really do. But this was a complete #########-show and i KNOW they could've done better.
-
Pinhead very likely serves the entity out of his own volition, i highly doubt he'd ever attempt to harm it. The entity allows him to bring his outer realms of experience to an infinite host of subjects. He can essentially fulfill all of his desires relatively indefinitely, so it can be assumed he has developed a servant relationship with the entity like he has leviathan. But considering he can cross between dimensions, he can likely return to hell at a whim if leviathan desires it. But i do believe he enjoys serving the entity, being a demon he likely has a penchant for the ritualistic.

"Skill based matchmaking ratings are also separate for each Killer, meaning you’ll have tougher matches with the Killer you’re really good at, but easier matches when you’re trying out a new Killer for the first time."
If that's the case then that's okay. It's just not how they worded it in their Q&A. Seems to defeat the point of the whole thing imo.
Yes, it does defeat the point. If you were expecting a polished product from BHVR, then you're playing the wrong game lol. SBMM is gonna suck for a while and i don't think we'll ever get "easier matches" for killers we don't play often. Its already very clear from the previous tests they've done. Everyone just has to prepare to get bodied 10 times on every single killer before they can play the game.
-
On PC? He's considered S tier like nurse and spirit.
On console? lol good luck, you'd be better off playing literally anyone else.
-
Because of how jacked up the MMR system is, you'll likely have to get obliterated 10-15 times before it starts adjusting you to people of your skill level. Suffer through it, if it makes it any easier everyone is gonna have to do it.

He is extremely underpowered and VERY buggy. Not twins level buddy but he's got his fair share of unfun match breaking bugs. Not to mention he crashes nearly every single match hes in.

Imo devs got it all wrong with how they're doing their marketing.
First off, we all know this is a glorified dress up game with some minigames you can play to get more currency to buy more outfits. The marketing team should capitalize off that by hiring some high prestige blender animators to make their ads.
Secondly, delete all the ugly characters in the game so its not false advertising when people boot up the game & the 1st thing they see is trapper.
Lastly, this is where the blender animators come in. They animate shirtless David, maybe some Oni & Felix too, as the new default intro to the game thus making the game more appealing to a larger audience.
Did you just call the handsome hunk trapper ugly?

We don't need more RNG into the mix.

There is an addon which makes the aura not visible until the chainhunt begins.
otherwise, it’s a second objective that lets at least one surv go out of their way and having to solve the box (and exposing themselves doing it) while not being able to work on Gens or anything.
the addon is AMAZING qol. I literally cannot play without it without feeling completely gimped. it absolutely should be basekit
-
Lets be honest, he deserves a little punishment for literally bringing pinhead into the realm. Kind of a D move dwight
-
Thats because kates best girl. Every killer knows to avoid her or they lose simping privileges.
-
Its sort of bug sort of intended. You're supposed to solve the box before it gets that bad, but you sort of can't if you pick it up as the chain hunt begins. The chains will keep attacking you, but they get delayed when you start solving the box. Sometimes they just...don't though, and keep attacking you even if you're trying to solve it. It is intended though for the chains to still harass you while you hold the box.
-
The fact that we continually get weaker and weaker killers is a testament to how BHVR has lost their nerve. They no longer feel it necessary to create an oppressive, action packed environment for survivors. its sad.
-

Also in my discussions we follow some basic ettiqiute okay?
Be polite
Be Efficient
And have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
im surely gonna have a plan to kill SOMEBODY if he doesn't stop commenting the exact same thing in every pinhead thread.
Also nice tf2 reference, don't see a lot of those in this forum

He feels worse than Freddy to me. You have to stop doing gens or else you can't do gens. He gets to know your location for free and teleports to you, and he can shut down loops entirely by pressing a button. Exhaustion perks and pallets are irrelevant because you have to avoid the player and the hooks that immobilize you.
But I'm glad they devs made another chapter solely for killers that ruins the game for solo survivors. Honestly, this could be the last straw that makes me delete the game entirely. It's just not fun to play as a solo survivor anymore.
Stop posting this in literally every thread dude. Whine elsewhere.
-
I Agree with shakey, if you watch the movies pinhead is VERY still, which is apart of why hes so creepy. He hardly moves, and lets his chains do all the "dirty" work for him. The fact they managed to make him move with such an eerie level of stillness is actually quite impressive.
-
Thats actually a pretty terrible combo. Ruin can't regress blocked gens, so the gen with the most progress (the one you want to be regressing the most) won't regress at all for 30 seconds. Thats quite bad.
-
He still has the AESTHETIC of the movie with all of the blue electricity, but his voice as a pretty significant part of what made him cool. Hes much blander now, like a shining turd.
-

They probably aren't coming back:
My guess is the license holder didn't like the jokes and said they had to take the audio out.
This is my belief as well. The fact that the mods won't say ANYTHING about it makes it clear its a legal issue.

He's Clown with Nurse mechanics
Hes more like clown with clown mechanics. The "gateway" pretty easily follows the same vibe as throwing a bottle, you just stand totally still while doing it. If he had nurse mechanics, he'd actually be good.
-
I Hit my limit with it when the game crashed me right as i was giving a survivor hatch. You can crash me mid match, you can crash me when im about to win, you can even crash me right when im about to lose. But i NEVER EVER want to be crashed when im trying to be kind to other people. Thats a whole new level of feeling bad inside.
-
Easily mikey. Even if he looks a bit goofy by modern DBD standards, he's still menacing as hell. I feel like most players would agree with me that they feel VERY unsafe in his presence.
-
Blight is pretty lovecraftian, he is a servant of an elder god warped beyond all humanity into a mindless abomination practically oozing a substance unknown to man. His mind is gone and yet the intellect and status of a once great alchemist are still there, hes great lovecraftian horror.
-
Licensed cosmetics are always gonna be super inconsistent. Nothing we can really do about it.
