i Might be one of the only DBD boomers who doesn't miss anything "old" in DBD. BHVR has done great work slowly modernizing their game, new animations are great, new maps look great, etc etc. I Do have nostalgia for those days, but certainly not envy.

Throw one hatchet at the start of the game, boom you instantly have a subconscious crosshair. Your brain is built to take in minor calculations, thats why you can consistently hit shots as slinger and huntress despite the lack of a crosshair showing you where your projectile will go. A crosshair is entirely useless since DBD isn't really build for split second accuracy, and the projectiles have generous hitboxes and predictable movements.

Its better to keep the win conditions a secret. That way no one will abuse the system.
But honestly? Some people will quickly figure out what the win conditions are... so...
Theres an issue with that though. BHVR NEEDS to be transparent about what is considered a win, the playerbase needs to be aware of what the system is counting. Otherwise whats the point of the MMR system? It works in other games because players have a tangible idea of how to rank up, why they should rank up, and what ranking up means. When they rank up they are aware of why they did it, so they become aware of what kind of opponents they are going to face. Say 10 wins makes me bronze MMR, i'll know i'll face other players who also have 10 wins. This is good, because i'll never feel cheated out of a victory, it'll be entirely on me for losing because were both of the same skill level. However with a "silent" mmr this is not the case, i have only an incredibly rough idea of what my enemies are capable of, and will often feel cheated out of a victory because i will be unaware of if i was fairly paired against these people or a flawed MMR win condition matched me against people way above my skill level.
A silent MMR is not a good thing, because it both lacks transparency and leads to player frustration. We should be aware of how we are ranking up, just like we are now.

I think it's less about forgetting but that there are players who simply weren't playing the game at that point, so they're not aware of what's been tested in the past.
True. I Suppose i usually just assume forum users are longtime players. Considering how long ago that test was makes me feel old.

Basement bubba. Hoarder, Franklins, and insidious. Nobody gets my chest.
-
No thanks. I hate coordinated toxic SWF's as much as the next lass but its pretty lame to make duos (who are technically SWF and are usually just 2 friends playing together) sit in ELO hell because they can't rank up together.
-
Its a sound barely more audible than killer breathing. If it peeves you that much then run franklins, its really not that annoying.
-
Ok
-
For survivor? Easily kate. She gets such preferential treatment cosmetic wise, and they all look really good.
For killer? I'd go as far to say blight. Blight has some serious drip. GF is a close second though.
Like seriously though. Blight has SO many combos you can do and they all look great.

Don't care, not fun.
Why even make a post if you're not open to discussion? 🤨

A lot of streamers tend to have educated opinions on the game that have helped me grow as a killer and survivor. A lot of the skill i've gained over my years of playing DBD is because of streamer tips. Of course nowadays im mostly knowledgeable enough to do all that myself, but they are a pretty important part of helping newer players grow and learn. They also keep me entertained with DBD related content when im not in the mood to play myself. Plus they have loud voices, a good streamer can mean good choices are made in the name of the community by BHVR.
-
Quite possibly a dummy acc. Lots of high level players in this game resort to smurfing to avoid well known SWF's they get matched against. A God level/High level nurse would likely do this to lower the amount they need to sweat.
They could certainly be cheating though, i doubt its possible without the achievement manager to get 1k kills in that amount of time.
-
They tested an anti-camping mechanic and it was severely abused. Why does everyone forget this?

The big man is just great to see. Hate that hes such a rarity.

MoM and nothing else

People will naturally hate whats meta. People hate the AWP. People hate garen and yorick, People hate sniper in tf2. Etc etc. If its effective and powerful, people will naturally hate it. Humans when playing games will scientifically choose the path of least resistance. When the path to victory is crowded with a lot of resistance, it pisses them off. Of course we are not all like this, but many are. Which is where the hate for ruindying comes from.
-
It would be pretty rad honestly. Oni has frankly (imo, i feel like most would agree though) the best lore in the entire game. He is so amazingly well fleshed out and realized in every single aspect of his character. DBD does REALLY well with folklore based stories, they always have and i assume they always will. I'd adore seeing another piece of well written content in the game.
-
because dbd isn't a shooter? Unless you main slinger i guess lol
-
If you are considering the difficulty of them without factoring in farming, which makes most of them easy, i'd say plagues "Hit 2 survivors with 1 corrupt purge" to be quite difficult. I tried getting it without farming and i honestly never could, its very rare that 2 survivors put themself in such a bad situation that you can double shot them. Can't really even do it against unhooking survivors since it considers the I-frames of an unhooked survivor to not count as a hit.

I love my alien dog :)

Welcome back mate. Enjoy your stay.
-
Hmmmm. this post is toxic
-
They aren't toxic, plain and simple. But there is a reason exceptionally salty survs will see it as such. A mori is both rare, and takes way more effort to get than a normal hook. You have to go out of your way to assure you don't hook that survivor when they are dead, and kill them. Survs view it as BM because you're treating them with an especially brutal death.
At least thats what i think they are thinking. Mori's never bothered me so i have no clue
-
No
-
Pretty obviously killer, survivors are not time reliant. Each teammate carries the game individually, meaning any time necessary things they need to do they split up amongst eachother. If killer bugs out, they don't have anybody to save them. That bug will ABSOLUTELY screw the match for them, guaranteed.
-
No. Plain and simple. Just another killer that'll be abandoned balance wise because a VERY small portion of the playerbase plays them. They are at the absolute bottom of rework priority.
-
Big gameplay changes are what i expect when the game is celebrating another one of its birthdays. Change is anticipated, and should be instated every year.

I'm not at liberty to share what stage it's at I'm afraid. All I can say is that when the changes are ready to be tested they will be put in a PTB.
Call me a conspiracy theorist lads, but usually when progress on something is in a "not at liberty to say" sorta stage, its close. Im hopeful it'll be soon. (soon in game development time lol) I have faith in what they are doing.
-
Thats the funny thing, i don't.
-
Doesn't really matter. You're the only person who should get to decide whether or not you use it, people can be as salty or as supportive as they like. You have the right to an opinion, and you have the right to use it.
-
Agreed, Kindred is a great perk as is, but the last QOL it really needs is to reveal undetectable killers too. Maybe do so in a smaller radius closer to the hook.

i appreciate it killgore, that bit about the rectangular geometry is actually quite helpful. ive escaped blight a few times, but tbh it always feels like just plain luck, or i had bt and managed to strongarm it. recently i dropped my exhaustion perk to try to get better at chase and replaced it with OoO. i can deal with most killers pretty decently, but blight is ilke my weakness lmao. anyways im rambling thanks for the tips my man.
No problem. I fancy myself a pretty decent blight player, if you ever feel like you need some 1 on 1 practice in chases vs him, im always happy to help in KYF. Hope the tips help you beat your blight weakness.
-
Blights work off predictability and map geometry. Always, and i mean ALWAYS assume the blight you are going against is very experienced until proven otherwise, take no risks against a blight until you feel comfortable with the skill difference. General movements you can do against a blight is run in one direction just before they charge, and quickly switch to the opposite direction. Don't repeatedly do this though, if you keep trying it they'll just run past you and bump into something else so they can charge back for an easy hit. Essentially you have to mindgame a blight on what direction you are going, and avoid that direction at all costs to juke them. On the subject of map geometry, and rectangular shaped objects are the bane of a charging blights existence, if you can quickly duck behind a lengthy/medium sized rectangular object you should be able to safely run around it even if the blight adjusts and bounces off an object nearby to try and hit you around it. Best case scenario, they bump into it, and instantly give up on any rushes and enter fatigue, giving you time to beeline it towards any safety. Most prominently though you want to keep in mind how many charges a blight has, knowing how many charges they have can make the difference between getting to a loop or being rushed down and killed. You need to be making pretty much all of your mindgame choices and pathing choices off how many charges a blight has, if they have full charges you should be ducking for cover, if they have minimal charges try juking as they'll be attempting to get a hit to maximize their power usage, if they have no charges treat them like a normal m1 killer and loop accordingly. Frankly though i don't have any more advice for blight, a lot of anti-blight tactics come from straight up game sense. Don't waste your resources, slam gens, and stay out of his LOS. The easiest blight to beat is a blight who is given the least possible chances to chase a survivor.

How do you compensate the distance of the first whipps? i trying to use him properly too
You get a feel for it. Try and hit them from close range in tight corridors or corners, since survivors move in predictable lines that makes it easier to hit them with the whip. In most loops you always have about a 4-5m distance between you and the survivor so you should always be able to hit them if they commit to an animation. Just keep whipping and you'll build a muscle memory for the distances.
-
Range addons tend to effect all powers regardless of what other addons are being used. So im quite sure the interview tape stacks with any range increasing addons.
-
We can sort of assume, considering almost every other licensed killer from the olden days has gotten their rework, Myers is pretty due for one and my theory is its coming up sometime this year. Hes due for an update to bring him back up to par with modern DBD, and its clear BHVR is aware of this. We can assume they are cooking up something in the meantime.
-
The only perk i really want to be basekit is kindred (without the killer aura reading, keep that specific to the perk to let it stay unique.) Kindred is just so helpful, Soloq its painful without it.
-
Because anything they say means, or could mean BIG things. So they avoid saying anything, "BHVR Read" is just a way of letting the people know they are seeing what were saying, they aren't ignoring us. They just don't want to make statements because then that leads to expectations, and expectations lead to dissapointment.
-
The entire point of the cages is they are an alternative method of advancing the killers objective, with the downside being they deprive you of hook related perks. However that goes for the survivors too, its a neutral gain because neither of you get to use your hook related perks. Thats the purpose of the cages, otherwise why not just teleport them onto a hook instead.
-
Considering how salty DBD players tend to be, a forfeit button would be the worst choice the dev team could ever make. Gens going to fast? Match ends! Ds'd once? Match end! Go down to early? Lose a teammate! Go down to a weird hitbox? Lose a teammate! People would be forfeiting left and right. Its a baaad idea.

I'm sure a lot agree that blight is one of the most fun and unique killers in the game. It's just the PLAYERS that make Blight unbearable to play against.
Be the change you want to see in the world. Be the good blight that shines through the darkness.
-
This feels like another perk that might get severely abused by SWF's. It also puts a pretty unnecessary amount of stress on your teammates to always go down near you if you are slugged, an anti slugging perk should work primarily only on the survivor that has it equipped, so maintain the teamwork required of survivors. The anti slugging perks we have already do this pretty well. WGLF lets non-slugged survivors save their teamates, unbreakable lets you recover faster for quicker saves and lets you fully get up on your own at least once, and Soul Guard is infinite when a hex is in play, and lets you get up without risk since it protects you. The anti slugging perks we have right now are already quite nice.
-
Its not really unbalanced in any way, because you barely notice it. when the killer drops you, your wiggle bar goes up by 25%. Thats a lot. The wiggle bar goes down so slowly that you'd already have bled out by the time you even lose that 25%.

Zombies retain collision and have reduced cooldown.
Everything else you said boils down to a jUsT-aDaPt type of (non)advice.
You literally can "just adapt" to a lone zombie though. Their AI is completely nonfunctional and they move in very predictable ways, if you walk to the back of the basement you can just waltz around them since they move slower than a crouching survivor. A zombie in of itself also can't block the basement exit since its hitbox is about the same size as a survivor, so even if they do retain their collision your teamate can take a hit and you can run past while its in cooldown. Its perfectly good advice, i'd know since i main the damn killer. If nemmy is camping with the zombie though, yeah i don't have any advice, not much you can do about that.

thats the problem, i am infected and injured. so its either go down to the zombie or stay stuck in the basement.
Your teamate should have taken a hit for you, sure the zombies can feel like bull but its entirely the unhookers fault if they don't protect you against a zombie waltzing into a basement. If you're the one unhooking, its a bad idea to be unhooking injured in the first place. You can also lead the zombie over to the center hook and loop around it and exit the basement. Unless the nemmy is hardcamping the basement, the zombie is slow and stupid and can be easily circled around the hook.
-
No, but i don't think they really need to be. You can still tell pretty easily whos who if you're used to their faces.
-
Cross map sniped by iri head. Threw a hatchet from the other side of ormond and hit me square in the face, scared the ######### out of me.
-
You shouldn't commit to playing a game that makes you mad. if you aren't consistently having fun, you should find a game that does give you more consistent amounts of fun.
-
Censorship laws. We have a "Global" version of mobile dbd created by BHVR, which is essentially an exact replica of current DBD ported to mobile and can be downloaded in most countries. Then we have a "Censored" version of mobile dbd, created by a separate company to allow the port to be sold in countries with very heavy censorship laws. It is more buggy and unpolished because it was not made by the parent company (BHVR).
-
While its a good sentiment, i'd appreciate if there were LESS ways my teamates could use to give up and abandon me with, outside of dc'ing and suicide on hook. Even after a minute of being slugged (outside of certain scenarios) you don't have any idea if somebody might come save you in the future. That save might have turned the tide of the match, and by giving up that survivor dooms their team. I don't want survivors to have more methods of exiting the game early and screwing over their team.
