If this is true then good. Sorry but survivors suffering a steep stun penalty when dropping down from literally any height is enough for a killer to catch up in most cases. Lunge is just overkill. Killer is lucky enough they suffer absolutely no landing stagger.
I've been hit through balanced landing because it doesn't reduce the stagger completely and the killer lunges into the fall and actually hits me before I get the speed increase from BL. Idk, hopefully this helps alleviate that issue somewhat.
That isn't an "Issue" its an intended feature. The fall stun is there to punish you for dropping from a great height while in the middle of a chase. Its unnecessary and stupid to remove a killers ability to lunge in the air.

I just updated the thread with a clip!
Thanks so much!
-
Yes. Stated in the 5.2.0 PTB update notes that the cenobite still breaks his own chains, it just spawns new ones faster like it does when they break on a wall.
-
Anybody have a video? My update is taking forever :(

Moreso I've just resigned myself to the same amount of miserable games but at least there's gonna be less Blight's
Amen, i'll drink to that.

What else are you playing these days? I need another game to take me away from this abusive relationship I’m in with DBD. Plus I think she’s doing something behind my back and may have given me SBMM. I get my test results tomorrow.
Some indie games i can personally recommend to occupy your time with:
-LISA: The Painful & The Joyful
-Darkest Dungeon
-Everhood
-Ender Lillies
-Omori
-Star Fetchers (just a demo but its REALLY good)
-Celeste, if you haven't already played that
Thats just a few, i could surely conjure up a few other really good ones if you wanted me to.

Yeah i believe it's a legal thing. Problem when it comes to licenses is that they really cannot say much. We don't even know why the Stranger Things Chapter got removed.
Considering netflix is making their own game studio, i think we have a very good idea of why stranger things is getting removed.

This forum sometimes man....

He didn't come :(

Thats a bit of a shame, i was hoping i could start adjusting my SBMM for pinhead so he isn't too much of a pain to play.

Good people were being way too immature.
So the justification is removing an incredibly iconic line from a killer we've wanted for 5 years now? The community can be immature sure, but this is a huge punch to the guts of hellraiser fans. People who WERE enjoying the awesomeness of hearing those lines in game might never get to hear them again.
-
Mandy is right, but i can't help but be a bit sad though that pinhead won't be saying his signature lines.
-
Wraiths strength is his sheer mobility and option selection, its never really that effective to run shadow dance with bamboozle and brutal. Breaking pallets faster and vaulting windows faster isn't that great when you can have any of the following:
-A silent bell
-Sort of silent bell
-Constant aura reading
-A Faster cloak/uncloak
-Significantly faster speed
-Uncloaking when kicking things
-Continued supression of your TR and red stain for 6 seconds
All of these provide a much bigger benefit than "Destroy things faster and vault faster"
-
"If the ice cream machine is always broken, why hasn't mcdonalds fixed it?"

Alien isolation is probably one of the only actually scary survival horrors i've ever played. I'd love to see that energy transitioned over to DBD.
-
Flashies should mostly be used for techs and out of convienence. You shouldn't follow the chase, but you should run over and try and intervene if the other survivor gets downed relatively close to you. Otherwise, using flashlights for blind techs and such are their primary use, i always encourage survivors to avoid chasing the killer with their flashies. Its much better to simply run over and get an unexpected save when a surv is downed close to you, the killers going to anticipate a save if you keep gluing yourself to them and clicking your flashy.
-
His speed addons are fine, you have to be decent at blight to use them since being bad at him means speeding past survivors and being unable to recover from how far you went. The only addon that direly needs a nerf or change is the alchemists ring, it punishes survivors just for getting hit. Blight instantly gets all 5 charges back which essentially gives you almost 0 window of opportunity to fight back and get to safety. The speed addons are different, since you still have to wait for your charges to come back before you can tap into that speed again. Frankly all of blights addons are fine, with the ring being the sole exception. C33 is also pretty busted, you can turn blight into a pallet grinding machine and it pretty decently slows survivors as a bonus.

End of small sanctuary - Akira Yamaoaka
The Puppy Is Found - Transgender Lain Clones
CRUSHED - Transgender Lain Clones
Lexapro Delirium - Sewerslvt
Small World - Jack Stauber
Two Trucks - Lemon Demon
Gates In Da Guitar Case - Constrobuz
Get Got - Death Grips
Spikes - Death Grips
Won't make the list any longer than that, the forum can now forever judge me on my weird music taste

Head nods make it pretty obvious she was hacking. When you give up shes esentially nodding and saying "Yeah thats right, you have no chance of winning."
-
since its across multiple accounts and im too lazy to add them all together, i have somewhere a bit above the 2500 mark. The current account i play on has the most hours though, standing at 1456. Im still pretty meh at the game though lol
-
I play the game actively. I buy the DLC's actively. I Don't care what the developers do, or what state the game is in because i am just one person. What i do does nothing to effect the collective, so i don't care.

Behaviour's own data they released on their 5th Anniversary showed he was the 3rd most played killer in the game.
Of all time. They specified the statistics were of all time, i basically never see doctors nowadays.
-
Absoloutely. Its mind boggling to have a game without at least a few small trinkets to display your pride and skill. Literally even a charm would be good, just SOMETHING that you can flash and say "Hey, im good at the game and i like to show people that."
-
Fun should always triumph over viability. A killer doesn't need to be good as long as they are fun, but generally being strong helps make them fun. You need a good balance of both.
-
If you like him, sure. You shouldn't play a killer solely off their viability, the fun will wear off fast. If you think hes fun to play and want to get better at him, he's a great killer to get good at and has an essentially infinite skillcap. Hes plenty fun to play and has some amazing cosmetic game too. Hes well worth sinking some time into if you enjoy him.

Why do you play with no mither?
You dare question the inner machinations of a no mither chad?
-
Im not bothered by him, he's also pretty rare so its kinda nice to see a doctor when they DO finally appear. I kinda like the madness mechanics and his theme is a banger, plus hes got cool cosmetics. Im only really bothered by doctor PLAYERS since they tend to be a bit cranky and have a short fuse, which means lots of tunneling if you outplay them. Otherwise doctors aight.

Thank god

Me, who uses that cosmetic because I thought it looks cool
Wait a second-
Don't worry, i use it too sometimes lol. Not all of us are bad. Stereotypes are mostly second hand
-
i don't really support the banning of any killer. Players should be capable of doing whatever they please, even if that does kind of make them a fun hating jerk.

The wraiths are huge a-holes for sure, with some occasional exceptions. The ones running with the hoodied outfit are usually the worst in my experience.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2470038#Comment_2470038
This is completely true.
hard agree. The hooded wraiths are actually unbearable, i don't think i've ever seen a wraith that wears that cosmetic thats kindly. I imagine because its incredibly edgy and attracts that crowd. Funnily enough i've noticed tuxedo wraiths are usually pretty classy (sometimes)
-
It made my survivor games actually enjoyable, but made my killer games literally unbearable. We'll have to see when it is fully instated.
-
if im going FULL tryhard? Ruindying, Tinkerer, M&A on blight.
-
By far red forest. at least RPD has interesting scenery, red forest is just boring and unfun for everybody as the killer has to constantly walk miles to interact with anybody and survivors spend most of the trial alone and holding m1.
-
For his neutral special, dwight obtains the heart key and equips a g u n
-
thats just wraith with more steps
-
The memory wipe. its completely stupid and makes no sense, teachables exist SOLELY because the survivors communicate between trials. Nearly A L L of the lore they wrote before the introduction of the memory wipe makes absolutely no sense because it works off the assumption that survivors maintain their memories between trials. It also makes the void make sense because a survivor would become emotionally drained from that many trials, but nope now i guess the process just happens automatically despite the trials feeling like a first time for each survivor. This bit of lore also entirely screws over benedict bakers character, and vigo's if they are still gonna bother writing him. Its stupid.

Added a maximum control time for gateways (6 seconds) – The Cenobite’s power is meant to be fast paced and used in a chase, not to be placed somewhere and wait"This is a... meh change. This feels like it can somewhat remove the "scouting" potential people were voicing their love for during the PTB. 6 seconds is basically nothing, and will make using his gateways as a method of long range surveillance much clunkier and much less fun. This is not a particularly good change as it dumbs down his power and removes a bit of the complexity that people were enjoying. If they plan to stick with this change, they should at least bump the amount of time to 10-15 seconds. 6 seconds is not a fun amount and can lead to some fringe case annoyances."
Haven't played Pinhead, but 100% agree with this. If he uses it as a surveillance tool, so what? He's standing still as well. You'll get just as much info from the 6s window on hotspots, and actually standing still while waiting is going to be detrimental. Only thing I could potentially see a Pinhead doing is Insidious + Make Your Choice with a portal at the ready to hinder a Survivor going for the Unhook. Even then, if it's not just a cursory spot-check you're wasting time.
This is also discounting meme clips from people using his portal as a literal camera and what-not.
Im gonna miss the memes a lot if the change does go through.
It'll make getting silly screenshots like this a lot harder.

I would argue that you better use the one that increases casting range of the gateway with this build instead, it does the job better and you can also use it to scout.
welp, then i suppose i can basically see 0 use for the addons lol. Heres to hoping they make them more interesting.
-
The only use i can really see for them is a "Sniper" build with engineers fang, where you injure people from insane ranges they can't anticipate. Otherwise i agree, the chains go 30m before dissipating, which is already further than you'd ever need. Range addons are just useless at that point.

I am...not.
Survivor was fun. Decent teammates and decent Killers.
Killer was miserable.
Absoloutely this. Really look forward to survivor but... the way SBMM was? I don't think i'd ever play killer again.

It was going downhill HARD around 2018-2019. Current dbd is going uphill by a landslide, as much as we are allowed to hate on this game its in a good place right now, and the devs are trying hard to make it better. Things can always get worse sure, but the trend right now is leaning towards a better future for dbd. Maybe a less content full future, but nontheless a better future.

It could easily be NOED or Blood Warden, but I'm guessing NOED.
As much as I hate NOED, unless you were all grouped up-- Which is a terrible idea anyway, the way you counter NOED, other than just doing totems, is leaving the second you realize a killer has NOED. You shouldn't have all gone down unless your team messed up.
Also, "absolutely destroying" a killer during the match doesn't mean you earned an escape or anything. The game isn't over until you walk out the exit gates or die.
Exactly. Noed ONLY ever activates on M1's. Unless you are majorly grouped up, or doing a terrible job at saving any slugs, the killer will have to pull off some crazy stuff to get a 4k with noed. You can just leave, and i get that feels bad but a 3 man escape is better than a 4 man death. Either that or equip Detectives hunch and spend a few seconds premptively getting rid of bones, its good BP too.
-
You sound very very inexperienced and new to the game. Try playing killer for a bit, it'll help give you perspective on the mistakes you might be making while playing survivor.
