See my above comment. I was referring to Breakdown specifically.
Had the page open with reply pending before your subsequent post, but I see your point.

Would it be 2019 flashbacks since iirc the sabo changes happened with Slinger's release in 2020?
2016 was the height of Sabo Squads running around using Toolboxes and Saboteur to take down all the hooks in record time. Both got nerfed sometime that year, and although it was still possible, most people opted to focus on generators instead as sabotaging wasn't as worth it.
But yeah, Patch 3.6.0 gutted Sabotage changes altogether.

And what, that makes it okay? That makes it okay to hide the majority of the game's content behind paywalls or obscene grinds? Because the best killers and survivor perks are free?
The game is not Pay2Win. That's what my comment was refuting. You seemed to have not read it properly, though I'll answer your unrelated question anyway.
Yes, actually.
We are coming to the game's fifth anniversary. The game is like $30. It would not be sustainable to have the game funded purely off initial purchases.
The game needs to be funded somehow, and that somehow is by making new DLC expansions quarterly.
Anyone who plays the game regularly will be able to make enough Shards to pick up the new Characters. It's 18,000 Shards every three months. Failing that, the DLCs themselves are like $10.
So yes, I think it's okay that a lot of the Killers and Perks are behind paywalls/grind walls, because it keeps the game alive. The game is not Pay2Win.

You mean like Breakdown that currently permanently break hooks?
Or the 95% probability to find a key every single games?
The game is broken as ######### at the moment.
I was talking specifically about pallet related bugs, but yes, the game has quite a few different glitches going about recently.
-
They're currently bugged, yes. The Killer won't get stunned if they're mid-lunge when the pallet goes down.
The supposed pallet fix mentioned in the latest patch was probably referring to a different pallet related issue. There's probably several, knowing this game.

You can buy Shards with money just like Cells, if I remember correctly.
I guess BHVR thought that if you wanted a currency, you would just buy that currency. Plus, they wouldn't want to devalue Auric Cells by making them exchangeable for those pleb Iridescent Shards.
You can buy Shards with money just like Cells, if I remember correctly.
You cannot. Iridescent Shards are exclusively earnt through Player Levelling progress.

They signed a contract wit people to let them use these movie characters, and they in turn want hard cash for allowing DBD to use these characters. And the only way they getting hard cash is with the cells.
If you can pay for these characters with shards that turn into cells. That's not real money.
I think you got the OP backwards. OP wants to buy Iridescent Shards using Auric Cells, not the reverse.
-
'unkillable'.
You do realise it doesn't make you literally invisible, correct?
It only comes into play once the Killer has lost line of sight of their target for more then a few seconds. Most maps in the game have large, open fields where that is not going to happen. All the while, the timer for Lucky Break is going down. Once that 90 seconds is up, the perk is gone.
It's only going to be marginally useful on the indoor maps, of which there are only four in the game, out of thirty five.
The Survivor still makes footstep noises, still makes breathing noises, and still makes injury noises. Only the last can be nullified, but that requires them to bring an additional perk.
-
Well the game's anniversary is on the 14th of June, so I would hazard a guess that the corresponding anniversary event would be around that same time period, mid-June.
-
Two of the three best Killers in the game (Nurse and Huntress) are free, and the third can be accessed with shards (Spirit).
The majority of meta perks on both sides are available on free characters (Meg, Claudette, Jake, Bill, David, Hillbilly, Nurse, etc).
The majority of Chapters don't contain game changing perks or Killers, and are there to provide variety. Licensed Chapters are paid only for legal reasons, there's nothing to be done there.
This game is far from Pay2Win. Sure it costs a lot of money to get every bit of content in the game, but the universally agreed best Killers and Perks are available for free.
-
They've mentioned they're planning on making cross-progression between Steam,
Windows Store, Switch and Stadia users. No plans for PlayStation and Xbox users, however.
EDIT: Not Windows Store. Could've sworn I read that somewhere.
-
If it's either Mr. X or Nemesis, it's most likely going to be 'The Tyrant'.
-
The interactivity between the Killer and the Survivor during a chase.
I find Killers like Nurse, Huntress, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, Oni & Hillbilly fun to play as and go against, because they're all powerful in the right hands while still offering opportunities for a skilled Survivor to out maneuverer them.
Meanwhile, Killers like Spirit, Clown, Legion, Freddy, Doctor, Hag and Trapper (among others) are a drag. Every time you play against them, they're going to play the same way.
-
Well, it's two months away from its five year anniversary, when most other games of this genre have failed to stay alive for even a year.
Even multiplayer games that aren't asymmetrical horror titles would normally have stopped development and moved onto a sequel by now.

tbf the OP is right, we should restrain ourselves from just immediately blowing all of our money on this chapter. The last 2 chapters have been... mediocre, so we are a little concerned about this chapter. I don't agree with most of the the OP is saying, but just be a little careful with your money.
It's a licensed chapter, and a big license at that, so BHVR has a lot more incentive to make sure it's going to be great then they do when making an original chapter.
Every licensed chapter they've ever made has been great. Sure, there's been hiccups such as Haddonfield's balance, Freddy at launch and Quentin's face, but I have faith that this is going to be a banger.
All-Kill wasn't even that bad honestly. Sure, the Trickster was released in a bad state, but at least the game functions (mostly) as intended. Can't say that about Binding of Kin, however.
-
Since the launch of the game.
-
You're likely pressing the keys too quickly to the point where your keyboard is failing to register subsequent inputs. (Same thing applies to struggling on the hook)
There's a cap on how fast you can wiggle, and you really don't have to press the keys rapidly to hit that cap.
Slow down when you're wiggling, you don't need to be pressing the keys lightning fast to be wiggling at maximum efficiency.
-
I just see it as baby rage, honestly.
Just stick it out and move on. You're ruining the game for the other four people in the lobby.
-
There are differences, however subtle.
Clearly not the same charm.
-
It takes 20 seconds to open a gate, not 15.
If you can't patrol both gates, it's your own fault if they get out. Especially considering the gate lights up after they've interacted with it for a few seconds, meaning you know they're nearby.
-
Resident Evil 8 drops on May 7th. The RE Chapter isn't due until mid June.
So your points about not spoiling the game before it even comes out isn't very valid.

What do you mean by lacklustre? Im not english sorry :s
It means not great. Decent, but not good.
Anything Leatherface can do, a skilled Hillbilly player can do much better on top of having insane map control and generator pressure.
Leatherface's only defining trait is the ability to down multiple Survivors at once, which unfortunately leads to ridiculous amounts of hook camping.
-
He's mid tier because he has no map control, and his ability to end chases is lacklustre.

The issue is though, is that this post came like 2 to 1 day after paulie's video. Which is probably in Trending rn. And probably the 1st when you search "RE Chapter DbD confirmed"

The issue is
Where's the issue? It's a pretty easy assumption to make, and I've seen loads of other people theorising the same thing on this forum, Reddit, Twitter, Discord, etc. Esther is by no means the first to come up with this idea.

you meant that dbd is like fortnite or mk ,but its a a symmetrical game (still a multiplayer game) i was confused about it like dbd and fortnite are the same thing idk
...OP compared DBD to Smash Bros, because that series is known for its huge number of franchise crossovers.
I put out that DBD is more similar to Fortnite and Mortal Kombat instead, because they also have large numbers of franchise crossovers. However, unlike Smash Bros but like DBD, they also tell their own separate stories using originally created characters for those games.

WDYM fortnite? dbd was relesed in 2016 and fortnite was relesed in 2017like WTH?
I'm not following. Are you assuming I meant DBD somehow copied Fortnite? Because that's not at all it.
-
It's closer to Fortnite or Mortal Kombat. It's a game telling its own narrative with original characters, but happens to have crossovers with other licenses.
Smash Bros is just an amalgamation of various Nintendo (and some others) characters. There are no Smash Bros OC characters mixed in with the crossover ones.

99% sure they showed the RE Infinite Darkness Leon outfit in the teaser (looks to be the same suit), so it's likely Leon and Claire, though I would prefer Leon and Jill.
That looked to be Felix. Same waistline of the suit coat, and the screams were his.
The reveal is still a month and a half away, and the chapter a further three weeks after that. They wouldn't show us exactly what we're getting this early.
-
I imagine it could happen if they ever make a Chapter themed around Ancient Egyptian mythology.

I mean... If a killer blocks one person in a corner and refuses to hit them, the game will still eventually end as well.
Not if they're the last Survivor.
Even when there still are other Survivors, they have to repair several generators and open an exit gate, on top of starting the two minute timer for EGS. That can take anywhere from 5-10 minutes.
Camping someone on a hook for two minutes is not bannable by any stretch of the imagination. The devs have gone on record stating this many times.
-
Hell yeah.
All Kill was pretty lame. The best part about it is the main menu theme and music.
-
Maybe they're running Technician, did actually miss a skill check, but the generator doesn't blow up because of that perk?
-
The Baker's House backyard is not nearly big enough to fit a DBD map, and the Tanker Ship has too many different levels and would be too claustrophobic to work as well.
My bets are: RPD or Raccoon City streets if the Chapter is themed after the older games, or the titular Village in RE8 if it's themed after the newer titles.

That sounds like camping should be bannable then...
That's a very odd takeaway you got from that. Camping is not body blocking. The Killer cannot physically block the Survivor from unhooking a Survivor. That's called Facecamping, and was removed over a year ago.

Umbrella saved Ethan at the end of 7, and Chris who is now working for them is going to be a big part of 8. So I don't know what you mean by Umbrella hasn't been relevant.
That's Blue Umbrella, a PMC. Not the Umbrella Corporation, pharmaceutical giant.
They're two different companies with no relation to each other besides the name.
The Umbrella Corporation went bankrupt and defunct sometime between RE3 and RE4.
The pendant in the reveal is specifically the logo for the Umbrella Corporation, not Blue Umbrella.
-
Body blocking to protect another Survivor from the Killer isn't bannable. Nor is blocking a Survivor in the corner to wait out their Borrowed Time, for example.
It's bannable when you're holding someone there indefinitely, preventing them from playing the game.

It could be a marketing strategy to promote the R8 games release as that is the franchise focus as of the moment.
R7 was incredibly well recieved and R8 has so much hype already, DBD would be a good way for Capcom and BHVR to scratch eachothers backs.
The trailer had the Umbrella Corporation pendant in it. Umbrella hasn't been relevant to the series since Resident Evil 3 (1999), so it would be pretty weird to include that if the Chapter is themed after the more recent titles.
-
It's not necessary, and it wouldn't fit in my build anyway.

How many companys do you know that do that? Refund you price differences because they drop the price on an item you bought sometime before that? I dont know any.
This wasn't a case of something going on sale months after release, this was a 60% discount less than 48 hours later.
No one would have bought the skins at full price if they somehow knew they could get them for more than half off not even two days later.
It was a knee jerk discount to appease the fans, because there was massive backlash over how lame and greedy that event was. I guarantee BHVR wasn't planning on discounting those outfits at the time, and so it really left people loyal to the game who bought them immediately in the dust.
Not to mention screwing over anyone who bought them with Auric Cells (real life money, may I remind you) as well.
This was the announcement for the Halloween outfits being available (this tweet only mentions the Killer ones, but the Survivor ones were released also). Note the date, Oct 23.
and this is the announcement for the discounts going live, taking the prices from 21,600 Iridescent Shards to 9,000. The date is Oct 24, some 30 hours after the first tweet. That's a long time of the outfits being in the game for full price with no indicator that they would be over half off the next day.
I am by far not the only person who got screwed over by this, if you were wondering.
-
25% of a population is a very large sample size. Hardly makes the data 'worthless'.
and it's definitely a lot more than 25% if you're only counting the Steam and MS Store players in that sample, ignoring consoles.

It pauses while slugged or hooked.
I guess, but I meant specifically while in the injured state.
You are right, however.
-
Lucky Break starts ticking down the moment they get injured, and doesn't stop until it either runs out or the Survivor heals up.
90 seconds is not a long time. The majority of that time will likely be wasted in the Killer's LOS (they did just hit the Survivor after all), in which case Lucky Break isn't of any use because the Killer can actually see the Survivor.
It's only going to be useful on the Treatment Theatre and Hawkin's Laboratory maps, due to the ease of breaking line of sight. Even then, that's not a bad thing. Making more perks useful expands the selection of viable perks to choose from, and helps keep the game fresh.

There's a difference between these situations, as far as I'm aware. You purchased something using shards only for it to be discounted later, OP had theirs completely removed.
I'm aware.
I was just pointing out that if they're not going to compensate people for human error on their part, they're likely not going to compensate people for automatic error on the servers part.
Especially looking at their track record of giving Legacy back to people who lost it.
-
You're most likely not going to get them back.
I lost 25,200 Iridescent Shards during last year's Halloween Event.
They released the event outfits for 21,600 Shards each, and I immediately bought two of them.
Less than two days later, they discounted them to 9,000 each due to fan outcry over the event. They never said they planned on doing this, so it seems like it was a hasty change to get some good PR (as the event was basically universally disliked by the community.
No, they didn't refund the difference to people who bought the outfits before the discount, despite many people such as myself asking.
-
Well the PTB releases on the 13th, as they mentioned, so likely two-three weeks from now for the full update.
Then it'll be the Mid-Chapter coming some time after that.

Hey each to their own mate, my dislike of it doesn't undermine your like of it and vice versa, I just wish we could choose menus from a list, I miss some of the better menus for days past and sometimes you really want to just dump one.
I definitely agree. I really enjoyed the Winter Solstice 2017 menu background and theme, and even though it wouldn't fit 11 months of the year, I would probably rock it if I had the option.
-
Either after the Mid-Chapter update, or when the next Chapter releases.
Given Chapter 19 released less then two weeks ago, you have a while to wait either way.
I like this new menu. It's very aesthetically pleasing even though I'm not a fan of the rest of the Chapter's theme.
-
The Killer gets points. The Survivors get points, and maybe possible WGLF stacks. No one loses in this situation.
Stop complaining, it takes 20 seconds to walk to the gate and force them out.
It's much more disrespectful when they don't take the hit, and instead just leave a second before you can hit them.

Well they did have Bruce Campbell come into the studio to record lines for him, so it makes sense they would also take the effort of making Ash resemble him as close as possible.
